Bodean's BBQ - Tower Hill in City of London, Westminster

It is a very beautiful place, I had been through a great service offered by Raul, he’s attention and charm has made the night great with delicious food. Overall I much recommend and will be back.

Been to lots of bbq places over time but Bodeans was something different, the quality of the food and the service was amazing. Especially Raul, his service was outstanding. Thank you very much guys.

Food was ok, nothing to complain about. The service was awful, a waitress that had no communication skills at all! I asked for the service charge to be removed, no one even questioned me on why, they just took it off, obviously very used to it !!

Great food but for the price the portions were tiny!

I had high hopes for this place, but was left mostly disappointed. I got the platter for 2 and the best things were the brisket burnt ends, sausages, and beans. The fries were ok. At times a bit too salty. The slaw was okay… I was disappointed though that there was just a single slice of pickle. The pulled pork was okay. A bit oily and not enough sauce. Speaking of sauce, there wasn’t much at all. They did have sauce in a bottle on the size for you to use though. All the meat (except burnt ends and sausages) was dry. Sigh. I was excited to try the food here due to the high ratings.

We were thrilled with the food last year and made a reservation there again. The store is probably still drawing on the reviews from last year. Menu was changed, portions were reduced, taste was terrible. Food was also cold. Price-performance is no longer appropriate even for London. No longer recommended, it's a shame.

Food was nice, ribs were lovely pulled pork was average but not big portions. Atmosphere and looks was cool. Service was ok, asked one person about the two cocktails for a certain price and she never came back to check on us. Only time we got asked anything after the food was served was did we want another drink

Absolutely lovely food , average price for a pint £5-50 for a cider , small place, and even though it was early Sunday evening, it was packed .

Food was very nice and staff friendly, disappointed to where we were seated. We were sat downstairs but way out of the way in a back room near the toilets. I'd booked this table in advance and expected better. The toilet door was constantly making a slam everytime someone left it and it was frequent. Felt like an after thought sat where we were and just dampened the experience.

A fantastic place with excellent food! While the service was a bit slow, our waitress, Saffran, was incredibly friendly and attentive, which more than made up for the wait.

11 of us ate in today, very slow service had to wait 1hr for food which was below average quality (except my shrimp skewer, & the wings eaten by 2 others). Then the rude staff wanted to hurry us out as other people were waiting to be seated. Not our fault we were kept waiting. I had high hopes for this American style diner, can't imagine many Americans appreciating this poor standard.

Bodeans is one of my favourites

Our visit was surprisingly good. The meat was tender and well flavoured. The beer was ok. The service was good and attentive. We were disturbed by all the screens, which were simply distracting. It was also very noisy in the dining room in the basement.

The share platter was not as expected. Waiter said the shared platter my partner and I paid almost 29£ each will feed us for 2 days. We devour that in less that 15 mins. It wasn't enough and too expensive. Nonetheless it was tasty and well done. For that I will give it 3* And the fries... Is just a rip-off, imo

Dip & Chelsea made my night great! Super good service, genuine, hard working and courteous people which you rarely find in London. Good was also delicious and served super fast!

Deep and Charsy are very patient and courteous with customers, my day's fatigue vanished! They served the food quickly and patiently explained what I didn't understand about the menu! They made my day，the food was good too, I had the beef ribs and they were very flavourful!

I did not dine in the restaurant but I ordered from UberEats literally this order arrived within last hour from when I’m typing this. I could not finish it the ribs were raw and very thin on meat. I have had much better frozen ribs from co-op. Totally unacceptable. What makes it worse I nearly waited 2hrs, but I gave the benefit of doubt. Possibly the worst takeaway I’ve ever had.

Great American-style BBQ and easy lunch seating.

This was the worst meal and service (lack of service) that I have ever experienced . The food was like warm and oily.

One of my favourite places to go. It’s been a while since I’ve been there, but I’m so glad that we chose there to eat with family. The food was amazing, atmosphere was great too, it was a little loud, as there was football on each TV. but it didn’t spoil our time there, we still were able to have conversations amongst each other. The reason I gave 4 stars for service as the food took a while to come, even though we were a party of 14, smaller groups I felt were given their food before us! Maybe the restaurant thought, let’s deal with smaller groups 🤷🏽‍♀️.. our waitresses were very friendly and helpful and were very apologetic about our wait.

Let me start by saying the food is very tasty. However, this last time I visited I was very disappointed. I specifically asked to order the large ribs as these are my favourite menu item, however when my food arrived it was the baby back ribs. These are much smaller and not quite as juicy. When I asked the server I was told you can’t order the larger ribs and there’s nothing I could do. The food was still tasty but it’s not quite what I wanted and I payed the expensive price thinking I was getting the nicer ribs. So I’m not sure why my meal was more expensive than my friends who got the baby back ribs with pulled pork. I got less for more money.

Great as always can't wait for my next visit to London unless they fancy opening in wales

Typical tourist trap, great looking menu but the quality of the food doesn't reflect the price. Went for the ribs and burnt ends with chips and slaw. Got three dry tough ribs and about 5 bits of cold burnt ends, small pile of chips and some wet slaw. Quite expensive for what it is, but its to be expected for the location.

Good food and drink, portion sizes are decent, and the service was fast. Well worth a visit!

While walking on Tower Bridge, I wanted to eat, but not street fast food... We came across this restaurant through Google Maps. Cozy, clean, tasty. Texas-style interior with appropriate music. There is a large TV set for football fans. The dishes are delicious. There were four of us and everyone was satisfied with the meals. The price, as for London, is adequate. The only thing I didn't like was the withdrawal of 12.5% ​​for service. Whether you want it or not, you will have to pay for the service. The girl who served us was friendly and did everything right, but everyone should decide for themselves how much to leave a tip. But as for the dishes themselves, it was really tasty. Thank you.

I am not usually a fan of ribs. However, If you love your ribs, this is the place to go if you are in the central of London.

Burgers are really poor compared to cheeper competitors (Five guys / Shake Shack). Clearly the patties are not made on site, felt like a generic burger van type patty with a solid texture and no taste. Not sure what the hype is about. Chips and sauces are good. Waitress forgot to bring us our tap waters after our initial beer order. Got the sense the waiting staff are very new and being trained on the job. Loads of screens to watch sport and a decent atmosphere, however better options available at this price point elsewhere.

This is one of those places that is great to visit with a partner or as a group. Plenty of crowd-pleasing food choices available. Staff are very helpful to guide you to the right choices. Superb beer choices as well. Safe to say, that I will happily return.

It was my wife's and my 1st year wedding anniversary, we chose Bodean's because we visited about three years ago and we really enjoyed it. The food was great, although the meat platter for two should have two of those smoked sausages on there as they are amazing. Love the burnt ends too. Service wasn't too bad, but wasn't great either, it felt rushed plus the person walked off before I'd finished ordering. We were actually told it was busy in there and it didn't look that busy when we got there. I asked for a pint of Coke with ice as it was a hot day, and was given a small bottle of Coke. When I said I wanted a draught pint with ice I was told they only do Pepsi or Pepsi Max which was completely fine with me but I should had that explained straight away. It was soo hot in there and there were two ceiling fans in there which were only turned on when I asked. I did notice that the rest of the people dining seemed a lot more comfortable once they were on. Still great little place 5 minutes or so from Tower Hill station and would definitely recommend it.

I visited Bodean's in Tower Hill for lunch today and unfortunately it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. The food was inedible and I left feeling extremely let down. The food was of very poor quality and everything we ordered arrived cold, and it looked and tasted as if it had been microwaved. The chips were particularly disappointing, they were stale, cold and seemingly reheated in a microwave. Despite arriving hungry, we left the majority of our food uneaten which speaks volumes about the overall quality. My experience started with the truffle mac and cheese, which was a disaster. It was very dry with no visible cheese or sauce, and overcooked to the point of being unrecognisable. It tasted bland, like something you might expect on an aeroplane. The pulled pork roll was equally disappointing. It was incredibly dry and I had to use what felt like half a bottle of BBQ sauce just to make it palatable enough to swallow, but it was still far from enjoyable! My boyfriend's experience was no better. His chicken was cold and burnt ends were very dry despite being covered in sauce. His chips were also stale and cold, adding to the overall dissatisfaction. Bodean's used to great, perhaps ten years ago but based on our recent visit to the Tower Hill location, it seems those days are sadly long gone. This was our first time at this particular branch and we certainly won't be returning. I do not recommend anyone eats here. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Love this place. Great location and always welcoming. Portions are very filling and the peach cobbler is the perfect way to top off a hot meal. Their nachos are spectacular. Nadia was our hostess and was terrific. Highly recommend!!!

Broke the rules. When visiting a new City - donʻt eat at the same restaurant more than once but couldnʻt help myself. Visited Bodeanʻs twice in three days :-( So good! My wife and I had the Bodeanʻs platter which is a hodge-podge of all the best of Bodeanʻs dishes - ribs, burnt ends, chicken, pulled pork, pulled brisket. I do work in Kansas City and they know BBQ - but Bodeanʻs has their own unique and amazing take. Wonʻt be disappointed. Iʻm just going to try and avoid goinng back before I leave town.

First time back in about 15 years and it’s absolutely terrible Terrible table downstairs in some sort of dungeon thing when I was plenty of tables upstairs food was bang average Service was terrible, but they did have the F1 so that was alright. Everything else pony

Horrendous! The most terrible customer service from the most entitled arrogant staff. I tried to to take a client to this restaurant who was over from America two nights in a row and both nights we were met with disappointment. The first night at 21.14 we were told the kitchen was close and we could only order takeaway on a Thursday night in central London this was a complete shock. The following night we gave the staff the benefit of the doubt and turned up at 18.30 only to be told the downstairs restaurant was closed and the rude shaven head waiter very loudly said because we were two people we could only sit at the bar. I went to the toilet and was shocked to see the downstairs full of customers and loads of spare tables. Completely understand different part of the restaurant closed at different times but in the grand scheme of things taking food to the first floor or basement floor could not have made any difference. On top of this when I returned it the table I noticed 4 proper tables were empty and available but again still the same rude waiter said they were reserved for 3 people or more. I explained I could understand that is based on a price per head but I was more than happy to spend more than the average two covers to compensate for this as my client really liked BBq food. But I was told no and they had lots of tables coming but it was clear there was no reserved tables or bookings as three people walked in who said they had not booked and were sat down straight away. Disgusting customer service and such a bad lack of basic acumin. We were really looking forward to some nice BBQ food but the waiting staff clearly had no focus on customer service or business acumin

Came here for a casual meal and it was everything I was hoping it was going to be. Ribs were good and the pulled meats were delicious

Last night we had a delicious meal at @Bodean's BBQ in London. There are 2-3 televisions on each wall, perfect for a cozy evening watching sports. we had hamburgers, chicken burgers, nachos with us without meat and steak. Football, good food and nice, fast staff. what more do you want.

We entered excited and happy to have a nice evening. We were greeted by a man called Donie (bald guy) and we asked for a table. He looked annoyed that we even entered and just said “bar or window” (saying we can’t have a table even though there were 4 tables at the back free. Sali was upstairs on the bar alone and served us. She was so lovely and welcoming and she helped us any way she could. I felt sorry for her because she was alone while the other man went out for more than 2 smoke breaks and just sat at the front desk watching the football. When I went down to the bathroom there were more than 2 members of staff sitting at a table doing nothing too while Sali was upstairs with so many tables alone doing everything. The food was nice and we gave Sali a lovely tip as we really appreciated her service - she was the only one who kept our spirits up and made sure we enjoyed the rest of our night - the other man was so rude dismissive and not helpful at all. We hope Sali is looked after and appreciated! Thank you for making our evening enjoyable!

Surprisingly really good - the smoked sausage was the best - chicken and pulled pork were also very good. Love the kids menu too. Cocktails and beer were also great!

Great meal in Bodeans Friday lunchtime. We know it gets busy so got there for opening. We were five minutes early but they let us in which was really nice of them. My colleague and I had the platter for two to share at £20 which had chicken thighs, ribs, burnt ends, pulled pork, fries and short rib. It was delicious. Couldn’t fault the food at all. Very tasty and plenty of sauces on hand. I liked the burnt ends the most. They served us promptly so managed to get out and back in an hour which is fantastic for a sit down meal in the city. Pound for pound you can get better portions of similar food elsewhere in London but this area is expensive so is fair. Have been before and will go again.

A nice American style BBQ near Tower Hill that is a good alternative to more traditional British style pubs. Selection of foods was good as was the variety of drinks to choose from. only small downside was the staff that did not look overly motivated and happy to welcome guests. so if you just want to enjoy some American food and listen to Blues and American 70ies Rock, this is a good place to go...

Best BBQ in London. This location has a massive downstairs area with plenty of seating. Don’t let the small frontage put you off. I’m from Texas, and the brisket is the best you’ll get here in the UK.

Be aware there is a 12.5 service charge. For that kind of establishment, it is not warranted.

Never had issue with Bodeans until visited Tower Hill .. I'm not against swearing it happens in everyday life but when can hear serving colleague swearing almost constantly, even though there were children present it's something you can hardly praise

Me & a friend had been craving an American style BBQ for a while & Bodean's did not disappoint at all! Everything we had was absolutely amazing & we felt very well looked after as the service was incredibly friendly & helpful our server was Deep, he didn't rush us, answered every question we had & was nothing but polite & friendly everytime he spoke to us, if the food hadn't of been so good that would've been my main talking point here. After ordering we had our food in under 10 minutes, all good was hot & full of flavour, portions were very fair for the prices considering the quality, I half expected there to be a little less of it but genuinely & happily suprised seeing as a a burger & chips can cost what we paid. Overall a fantastic experience with service & product doing the talking as it should instead of flashy gimmicks or standing on brand names like other restaurants.

I love coming back to Bodeans BBQ, The food and vibe is always brilliant. I love their Chicken, Ribs and Pulled Pork Combo. This time I've tried one of their Mocktails and can recommend too! One of my favourite touches is the towels on the table 👌

This Kansas city style BBQ was ah-mazing!!! Friendly staff, kitschy country decor and absolutely delicious barbecue food!! I had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries and it was incredible!! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely Shocking service! Basically non existant. Had to get up to ask for basic salt and Pepper. Table was cleared didn't ask if we wanted extra drinks or a dessert. Had to wait for the bill... food sub par quite cold to be fair. Edible but cold. Save your Money go elsewhere.

The food was really nice but the service wasn't great. We were there at lunch and it wasn't particularly busy but service was slow and we had to keep seeking the attention of the staff. They did make a great effort for someone in the party with allergies though

Poor quality, food was nearly cold. I actually feel sick after dining here I believe the food was unfresh Stale. Wouldn't recommend or visit this place anymore.

Found this cool little place online while staying in Tower Bridge area of London and had the Pit Boss Platter. Very tasty food, nicely presented restaurant and lovely staff. Highly recommend the Fire Kissed Shrimp Skewers. Absolutely fantastic and wish they were available as a Main course.

Tasty Smoked Beef Experience at Bodean’s Tower Hill Branch Being a beef lover, I couldn’t resist trying the American-style smoked beef at Bodean’s Tower Hill branch. The staff were really helpful in guiding me through the menu options, which I appreciated. The food was decent, although I only learned after eating that you can choose to have it wet or dry, meaning with or without BBQ sauce. The beef itself was tender and flavorful, though it could have been a bit hotter. I’m looking forward to going back and trying their burnt ends next time. Plus, the prices were reasonable, which is always a bonus.
