We have to cafe on many occasions since it opened and we have loved it. However the last two times we have been the food wasn’t quite up to the usual high standards. However still a great place and fantastic concept..

We love Mission Employable and everything they stand for. The staff were as always welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The food quality was high, especially the Overnight Oats! and prices reasonable. Dog friendly too,so Lulu was happy.

What a wonderful cafe in a fabulous setting set in the beautiful valley park of Chorleywood villiage. I would say just a 10 minute walk from the station. I had a lovely pot of strawberry and raspberry twinings tea in a teapot and it was very lovely. Overall standard of cafe I was very impressed with and with a lovely ambience throughout.

Excellent food and service - Jake was very prompt and polite. We often pass this cafe but are not local - today we decided to call in and will definitely do so again, on a regular basis; delighted to support this charity. Highly recommended!

Fantastic veggie breakfast, fresh ingredients and so tasty. Service was superb, friendly and efficient. I had a coconut cappuccino and this was excellent. The mission behind the cafe is so wonderful but it is also an outstanding place to visit.

Loved the way the cafe encourages the development of youth with learning difficulties but it also a great social place, encourages visitors with dogs, and offers great food at good prices. Have been in three times this month. Will be my go to cafe in the area

Beautiful toasted haloumi sandwich. Very tasty. A superb cinnamon swirl, highly recommended you try one. I understand they are from cinnamon Square in Rickmansworth. Friendly and capable staff. Such a great project to support, training people with learning difficulties.

I went to the Cafe on the Common this morning for breakfast. I'm an early riser so got there way ahead of the late morning rush, which I witnessed first hand. Given the previous reviews I was expecting the place to be great and it didn't disappoint. The staff are friend, hard working and accommodating. I was served by Leo who was talkative, pleasant and professional. I was going to have a Mocha but he recommended (maybe a bit by accident) a coffee instead and it was delightful. It was quite a citrus forward blend that was actually perfect first thing in the morning for me and I really appreciated the aroma and flavour! I ordered the big breakfast and I was really happy with everything the bacon was nice and thick, sausages were really tasty but the star of the show was the mushrooms. The thyme butter really made them pop and I really liked the flavour, especially when accompanied with the rest of the brekkie. I prefer slightly runner eggs (poached) but they still great, I know that poached eggs can be challenging and understand why they cooked them more thoroughly (no-one likes snotty white)! The only problem for me is what to order next time I visit! 10/10 I am definitely going back!!!

My daughter is training at this cafe so I am biased, but even so, I'm very fussy about good food and proper coffee - and you get both at Cafe on the Common. There is a wonderful atmosphere, it's always buzzing and the staff are so friendly. I've been several times since it opened and always had a great time. Definitely worth walking across the Common for, but if the weather is wet, there is free parking.

We were a bit early at a recent funeral at West Herts Crematorium for a dear friend The newly opened tearoom named Bluebells came to our rescue and gave us somewhere warm and dry to wait for 20min It was absolutely packed, which is always an excellent sign of good food & service We just had hot drinks, but they were served promptly so as not to delay us Thanks

Great pub just off the Common - nice warm interior and a good place to watch the rugby. Great selection of beers and friendly staff. Nice beer garden too.

Must admit the visit didn’t start well. The car park is scruffy with bins, rubbish and sundry old equipment piled up and it doesn’t create a good first impression. Inside the welcome was warm and friendly but the chairs at the table we were shown to were scruffy and very stained. My first beer (London Pride) was sour, probably the end of the barrel, but was changed when I pointed it out and The Scarecrow much better. Not good so far. However, the staff were great and the food very good. Fish and chips was plentiful and beautifully cooked. The Hoisin Belly Pork something different and really tasty. Overall we all enjoyed our visit and would go again.

I had booked lunch in the Lounges for my partners birthday. The booking was made 7 days in advance and confirmed by email. The Grove called to confirm the booking the day before, and confirmed we wanted Sushi, not Afternoon Tea. They also sent an email to confirm again the morning of the booking. They mentioned nothing of not being able to sit in the Lounges on any of the confirmations. On arrival we were told they had overbooked, and The Lounges were now only for Afternoon Tea and we could go to the bar if we wanted. The Bar had business people on laptops and children running round, not the setting you want for a birthday lunch. Its disappointing that they overbook, but also that they didn't mention this when they confirmed the booking so we could change our plans. Clearly money over service and we won't be returning.
