Really lovely location on the beach. Abit difficult to find. You go threw a tunnel to get to the stoney beach. Lovely young lady was very pleasant. Lovely views. Food was nice and coffee. Good service.

I don't think you can have too much of a good thing. Whenever we are anywhere near Glyne Gap Beach we always go to the Cafe On The Beach for lunch. It's always friendly and efficient service. The portion sizes are more than ample and it is extremely good value for money.

Situated at the rear of Glyne Gap Beach, the Cafe on the Beach is just the place to drop into whether you only want a drink or if you want food as well. Whenever we are having a walk on the Bulverhythe Coastal Link we always call in here for either a drink and/or a snack. The staff are always very friendly and the coffee is always good. There's a good choice on the menu and they do everything they can to ensure that my wife, who is Gluten Free, is able to have something to eat. An added bonus is that the establishment is dog friendly.

This cafe was a very welcome place to stumble upon when walking between Hastings and Bexhill. Not just because it offers a range of snacks, lunches and ice creams but because the view over the beach is outstanding, only spoiled by the metal railings. The tired furniture is more that off-set by the attractive artwork on the walls, available to purchase at less than excessive prices.

I was walking from Hastings to bexhill with my family, 4 adults and 5 children ages 11-3 our destination was this little cafe on the beach! Ice creams and drinks and a spot of lunch was planned! My eldest rode ahead he’s 11 year she’s old! It was 25 degrees so when he reached our destination he was understandably gasping for a drink! He asked the lady in the cafe for a glass of tap water while he waited the lady behind the counter refused our 11 year old son a glass of tap water! We had bottles on us but he had reached the cafe a good 5-10mins before us! When we arrived he let us know what had been said when we asked the lady she became rude telling my husband we sell water we don’t give it away! Now I might be wrong but I’m sure you aren’t allowed to ‘sell’ tap water! If my son was alone and travelling to meet friends he would have been exhausted and dehydrated! I think it is absolutely disgusting that you feel it okay to refuse a child a drink of tap water!! You lost yourself a lot of business that day! And shamed yourself in front of a cafe full of customers! Customer or not when a child asks for a glass of water you would think humanity would have kicked in not your concerns of making money! Shame on you!!!!!!!

I pulled off the National Cycle Route 2, in 30*C heat, hoping for a coke, some cake and to refill my empty water bottles. I was on my third day riding from Bristol to Kent.Having propped up my bike, picked up my water bottles, and before I’d even turned around, let alone spoken a word, I could hear the proprietress shouting through the door, “Ow no! Ow no! I’m not filling those”. She tried to maintain that she pays her water rates and why should she give away water for free. I could by her single use, plastic-bottled water, but she wouldn’t even accept money to fill my water bottles, even when I tried to order additional paid for items.I found her to be rude, unwelcoming and assume she puts profit over environmental good practice.

A lovely little plain cafe on the beach. Immaculately clean, another must when we visit the area. After a walk along the coastal path or on the beach, a path certainly links bexhill and St Leonard’s, and goes on I think. So a very good place to stop. Typical cooked breakfast all day and the variety of elements and usually if lunch time a soup and a couple of other dishes. They also have sandwiches etc. And a couple of homemade cakes. Can be found just under the bridge if visiting the Ravenside retail and Leisure park.Lovely people and always had lovely hot food. Can sit outside.

I haven't been to this café in a long time so decided to go with my two children. First of all the lady serving made it clear that she wasn't happy to do food as it was 10 minutes before they stop serving ( I didn't know this) and kept huffing. She was rude to my 11 year old for asking for chips as they weren't cooking anymore and so he and my daughter settled for egg on toast. Well that is what they got! Just an egg on burnt toast. My partner ordered a burger and it was a cheap old flat burger, in a bun, no butter or anything else, just a burger. I had a jacket potato, I must have hit the jackpot as that was nice with some salad. Its a shame because it is a lovely location but the food was far from good and the customer service was non existent. It wasn't cheap either and sadly everyone left disappointed and unhappy. Its needs re-decorating, new staff and management, extend the lunch time beyond 2pm and smile! Bingo, there is a good and thriving business with much better ratings!

Dog chews are available inside for 10p each and a huge bowl of drinking water is provided outside.

Sat outside on my rocky table with one leg shorter than the others and watched pushchairs struggle on the shingle and children allowed to climb on dangerous piles of stones, clearly signposted I may add.

Lovely sunny day and that's where the loveliness ends!In our group, 2 out of 3 couples were over charged by more than £2 each! Even though we were clearly a group all meals came separately with ours last, we had to go up and enquire how much longer it would be, (over half an hour and it wasn't busy) Tea was awful, breakfast was cheap ingredients, think Tesco value sausages taste better. Apart from overcharging, the woman who takes orders is very rude, she said to my friend as she came in the door, who was dressed in 40's gear for the roaring 20's, 'ooh it's the tart with a heart!' And when I asked politely how long the order would be (as the rest of our party had eaten and finished) she said 'it's coming as you speak!' No apology and very abrupt! We won't be going back and advise you to avoid as nothing good going for the place apart from the view and if she could, she would probably charge you for that if you linger too long outside!

You probably couldn't get closer to the sea without literally being (the Cafe) on the Beach. This tea-rooms flavour cafe is actually on the promenade - probably where the photo was taken from, and comprises half a dozen tables in the open air, and more (rather more cosily) inside the simple but agreeable cafe-building. There are simple snacks on offer as well as simple cooked dishes, tea and drinks (not alcohol). somewhat apart from the main part of the town, the cafe has a bracing, Sussex-by-the-sea, air: wonderful on sunny, warm days, but (especially outside) you sometimes need to wrap up against risk Channel breezes. I write as a Bexhill resident, and in fact it's a year or two since I went there, possibly earlier than the date given below; but it doesn't change much.

The staff were very friendly, the food was cooked to order, the tea arrived in a large teapot with the offer of extra hot water if we would like and the view was amazing. We have always ate at our local befeeter but now we have tried this one I will never eat at our local again. The chef is amazing food came out hot looked amazing and tasted the best I have tasted in a long time. This chef must love his job and I hope he is proud of what he achieved. We ordered a 3 course and couldn't manage it. We have to order a 3 course at our local as portions are so small. I still can't get over how amazing my meal was. And the place its self we have never been didn't even know it was there. It was just by chance that rainbow restaurant had no heating so we googled and found this place. We was worried would end up at the one near premiere inn, but this place is so lovely. Cosy, welcoming, we have said we will travel an hour just to go and have lunch again or even book a hotel to spend the evening here as such a nice place. Everything I wanted relaxed. A few improvements to take on board. Three vegetarians and one meat eater. Ordered two vegetarian nut roasts and it turned out to be boiled rice with nuts and berries. The roast potatoes and parsnips were lovely, the soup my husband had was lovely and the roast beef for our friend ordered was eaten without leaving a scrap. The homemade ice cream was filled with ice crystals and could not be eaten (which was a pity as it was very tasty). For thee meals, one soup and four desserts and four non alcoholic drinks the bill came to £120. The vegetarian roasts need work. I did ask the waiter if the roast vegetables had been cooked in oil and if the gravy was vegetarian and they had to return to the kitchen to ask. Not reassuring for a veggie... All in all it was good food in a quaint restaurant. The restaurant was empty on a Sunday lunch time which I did find strange. A proper veggie roast would have been nice though. A huge plus is that it is dog friendly.

Birthday treat ...the dining room was lovely, staff very attentive, but slightly disappointed with the food. Menu did not explain the dish. Duo of venison with roasted root vegetables etc. duo was 3 very small, thin slices of venison with a suet venison pudding ! A heavy pudding was really not what I expected. As for the roasted root vegetables.....lift up that small slice of venison and there they were ....a thimble full of tiny cubed root veg. If I hadn't ordered a side dish of broccoli I would not have been able to eat most of the dish....and did I mention the 1 blackberry! Sorry but feel the food slightly let the evening down.
