Pleasant staff and chilled environment, the coffee needs work as it’s not very good at all. Also the fruit selection is poor, overpriced and often way passed its best.

This place has since changed name - I believe to Niro. The cafe is run by young ladies who, sadly, seem to have no personality. They don't really communicate with you. They just take an order. I personally like the staff to have enthusiasm as though they are pleased to be serving you. The hot chocolate is too small, too sweet and not hot enough. It's over priced. The actual furniture and interior needs a make over. Such a business should sell shakes, paninis etc. But it has a very basic menu. The one positive I would say is that there is always an available seat and the place is airy and bright.

Good mix of seating available - tables, stools & counter and comfy seating. Decent coffee and a choice of snacky foods. Nowt special but not dreadful either.

Cafe Ollo is a bright, airy place, not bad for holding a small business meeting. It's clean, with good disabled access, good toilet facilities, and friendly staff. £2 for a large cup of hot water with a tea-bag in it is a bit much I think though, and a similar-sized black coffee will set you back £2.30 - that might be acceptable if the coffee was drinkable, but it's absolutely rotten. If you want a decent cup of coffee you'll have to go elsewhere I'm afraid, it's been lousy here for a while now.

Extremely rude staff (been a couple of times and have not once seen a smile). Also they do not serve skimmed milk only full fat. A bit pricey.

This cafe used to be great value, have now resorted to teeny tiny cups for their takeaway coffee. Staff seems to have changed as well.

Cafe Ollo at the heart of Huddersfield Media Centre is simply the best place to meet socially or for business. The food is good if a little overpriced, the menu changes and has a good selection for most tastes.the environment is spot-on. If you use the media centre please let people know and encourage them to use this cool and popular venue the likes of which you would struggle to find in bigger cities. Oh the staff are quite nice as well.

This place is sterile and run by passionless, aloof staff who have no feel for food. I only ever go out of neccessity as I often have meetings in the Media Centre. If there's a corner to be cut, Cafe Ollo cut it. The portions are small, the sandwiches are dry and underfilled (if you ask for salad you get a huge portion of bagged lettuce and one or two wafer-thin slices of tomato) and they use tesco value bread to make their toast (which at £1.20 a pop is an outrage). I have been served mouldy bread on more than one occassion. The soup is not home-made (covent garden I think) and the prices they charge make it an insult. Good coffee and tea and cakes, but they buy the cakes in.

I have always found Cafe Ollo to be quietly calm and most convenient. Decent coffee in a smart and chilled out space, with free internet access. Just the ticket if you need to top up on caffeine and catch up with your emails.

The Cafe Ollo is a very well run, friendly internet cafe and the food is incredibly tasty. As a client of the adjoining Media Centre, I use the Cafe frequently and look forward to the original soups and salads available daily. Customers also love to meet in the Cafe and it also offers a way to relax and "down tools" for half an hour to recharge the batteries.

I've been visiting Cafe Ollo at least 2 or 3 times a week for the last few years. Like the Media Centre itself the cafe exudes a creative atmosphere, making it an enjoyable place to munch a panini or slurp a soup :-)

We didn’t have much time so rather than go ti RMT Kitchen where our friends said parking is a nightmare, they suggested we hit Toby. We were seated and drink orders were taken and then nothing more happened so eventually I went over to a waitress and ordered the Ultimate Roast Dinner Sandwich for our son (just some carvery stuff in a roll or pud basically), and carvery for the two of us. We went to get it, meat was cold as well as most of the veg, and the sandwich never came. After about 20 minutes we asked for it and it had obviously been forgotten so she rushed off and got us an Ultimate Roast Beef Sandwich which is just some beef and gravy slapped on a roll. Honest misunderstanding so no big deal. We asked for a replacement, she took away the tray, manager showed to to ask about our issue, both said it would be sorted, again nothing for another 20 minutes, and we had to ask yet one more time to get a sandwich that was sloppy, but too hot to touch, and a bowl of cold gravy. Desert was fine, but the custard with the apple pie was again a tongue burner (nuked maybe?). When time to pay came, none of this had apparently discouraged the waitress from asking for a tip. She was lucky we were leaving that day and there to burn off no longer needed GBP so she got wholly underserved 6 quid for her efforts. Overall we lost more time waiting than it would have taken us as per our friends to find parking near RMT Kitchen, and the food was absolutely not worth it.

We were so looking forward to our romantic valentine's evening. Sadly the previous reviewer has said most of it for us. Extortionately expensive, to be honest, for actually a less than mediocre meal which was not particularly enjoyable. It was obvious, from the occasional groans, the that something was very very wrong in the kitchen, even though front of house staff attemped to cover the cracks with gracious service. Also, yes it was far too cold. Have had lunch several times in this beautiful building, which have been very pleasant, although they really do need to sort out the heating problem.

After a bracing walk around part of Digley Dam this was an ideal stop off to satisfy healthy appetites. It wasn't particularly busy so my friend and I were fortunate to select a table by the window to sample views of the surrounding countryside that the area is famous for. We both chose the regular Fish & Chips, good value at £12 though smaller portions are available at £9.50. My friend's Side Salad cost £4 which I thought expensive for what he received while a side order of Mushy Peas set him back £2. I thought the drinks were expensively priced, £2.90.for a pint of Fanta Orange but we'd visited for the Fish & Chips and these were delicious so it was definitely worth the effort. The menu is quite extensive so there are plenty of alternatives to satisfy most appetites and palates. A good experience.

Family meal. More bar staff needed and some did appear somewhat stressed. I ordered the rack of ribs, they tasted lovely but were no where near hot enough. Good JD sauce. The corn on the cobs were inedible, boiled within in an inch! My husband enjoyed his beef burger, but overall, for the price of food, it’s nothing special. Most of the party were just ‘erm, it was okay’. Good price on a bottle of red wine and the food came out as we ordered, we they wanted us to pay at the bar due to party size. Main male staff member greeting as we walked in was friendly.

We were staying at the hotel nearby so visited the Nags Head for drinks / tea. I’m coeliac. They stock gluten free lager by the bottle so we sat outside in the sunshine admiring the view of the pub whilst having a couple of drinks. Our meal was fantastic! Piping hot, delicious hunters chicken and chips ( gluten free) partner had the gammon and chips also delicious 🤤 The only thing I would suggest is to have a separate gluten free menu. Or add gf symbols on the current menu. The process to order gluten free is you’re handed a tablet and you have to enter your preferences. Great customer service , lovely pub. Definitely recommend
