Waiters were miserable had to wait over an hour for 2 breakfasts and everything tasted like it had been re heated and bread was very greasy

Server was friendly. Chose a chicken Caesar salad , let’s face it you can’t go wrong can you ? Not very nice and certainly not a Caesar salad. Chicken all dried up and difficult to decide if it was chicken or a crouton. Had tomatoes and cucumber in it and never tasted a Caesar dressing like that before. Friends had sandwiches which looked a bit sad but served extra sandwiches due to small slices of bread which was a nice touch. Milkshakes nice and thick and ice coffee good.

My girlfriends and I go every fortnight as Ladies That Lunch. The food is lovely (you always get loads) and the staff are very friendly, after a couple of times we were treated like old friends. Thoroughly recommend

Fresh and friendly. Arrived for a nibble late afternoon. Greeted by the friendly staff. Sat down and waiting for them to come over. They came over and were very polite. Had a milkshake & a ham and cheese panini. Food was fresh and very reasonably priced. Will visit again for sure!

We ordered three breakfasts , the butter on the toast was sped so thinly you could hardly taste it , the cooked bacon was cold , so was it pre cooked and just placed on the plate to order I wonder, the bubble was disgusting and tea was weak , we only found ourselves here because the North End cafe was closed for holidays , we will never return.

very clean, great food and service what more can you ask for :). The price was just perfect, I think its the only cafe shop around that area that has not increased their prices.

Very friendly staff, as a regular customer I find the staff always helpful. Maria is really helpful and remembers regular customers.

I pop in 2-3 times a week. Always a friendly welcome. Regulars are always greeted like old friends. Breakfasts are great, properly cooked and well presented. Whatever you order (and you can make changes to the dishes), always very good portion sizes. And the coffee is strong enough to give new life to anyone passing through. Thoroughly recommend.

Good food, friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. Can be a bit noisy at times but generally okay. The owner and staff are very friendly.

My partner and I are regulars on a Saturday morning and we have always enjoyed the lovely breakfast. Good portion sizes, you can choose individual items which is great for me as a Vegan or if you have a small appetite. I did recommend today that they offer plant based milk such as Oat milk as other coffee places do as i know lots of people that prefer it. They were happy for my suggestion. The service is always prompt and friendly and Maria is brilliant at making us feel welcome with our little chats. The rest of the staff are lovely and welcoming too. The cafe is basic but always clean and when the Covid restrictions were in place they followed them. Highly recommend.

We visit regularly on a Saturday, the food is always good, but the service and care the staff give to their customers is exceptional - always taking the time for a chat, an eye out to help and assist where required - it is lovely to see that the personal touch is always present. Have been to the Nut several times over the years, but a few times more recently as they are able to accommodate myself and friends as a group requiring 2 tables .... which they are more than happy to move together. The lovely Maria always greets us with a warm welcome and the other café staff are equally friendly. There is a fairly large menu offering a wide variety of drinks, snacks, lunches and meals. Prices are about average, although some of the main meals are a little above average. Toasted sandwiches, omelettes, salad are pretty good value. You can have a card stamped when you order a hot drink in order to receive one free when the card is filled. This café cares about its customers....the staff hospitality, environment, food and convenient location led a friend to choose this venue for his birthday lunch. Unexpectedly, he was presented with a slice of cake and candles, which truly made his day. Thank you so much Café Nut ❤

Jacket potato was 8.00. there was still dirt on the skin wanted cheese as well paid for extra cheese and didn't come ... Awful food

Went here after a long week of work to relax with a friend and eat lunch, turns out there is little kids running around the cafe. Worst part of the situation is that it’s the employees kids and she did nothing to stop them.

I searched for an early opening cafe as I had arrived on a 6:30 ferry. This place is a 10 min walk from the harbour (cross over then under the M275 from the pedestrian exit). Very clean, friendly staff and the proprietor was even opening...

Ordered the Full English, not disappointed, large plate, large helping. Well presented, well cooked. Staff were great, cafe was very busy but they still made time to engage every customer. Very good value for money.

Very good freshly made food , going there for a proper breakfast or lunch from time to time. Proper size of portions . Every time we have a foreign visitors we taking them there for proper English breakfast. Lovely place and friendly staff.

Roomy cafe, on main road through North End. Large car park situated behind but you have to pay. Visted half a dozen times and the food is good value, good portions and well cooked. Ham egg n chips £3.90. Brekkys also from £3.90. Sunday roast...

Me gusta mucho este lugar. Es un espacio grande y aireado, con muchos asientos y un buen ambiente. El personal (kurdos y de Europa Oriental creo) son muy profesionales, amables y serviciales. Hacen una amplia variedad de comidas - cafe como hamburguesas, papas fritas y frituras - que es consistentemente bien preparado y a un precio razonable.

Tuerca de cafe es un pequeño y agradable café pero suele muy concurrido la comida siempre ha sido agradable, pero creo que es un poco caro para un café especialmente cuando puedes comer y beber en el Weatherpoons al otro lado de la carretera por 6 libras, así que no comas aquí todo el tiempo.

Nos alojamos por 9 noches en Portsmouth y comimos aquí cada día. Menú genial, el personal es encantador, la comida excelente y el chef era lindo. Había un ambiente relajado y nunca prisa. Las chicas eran amables y eficientes. Un gran restaurante de Pompeyo. Hasta la próxima vez xx

Suelen comer en Macdonalds en una visita anual a esta zona con amigos. En lugar de encontrar nuestra costumbre comer tiene cerrado encontramos este restaurante y me alegro de haberlo hecho. Nuestro grupo tenía un desayuno Brunch. El servicio era excelente y la camarera no importa en lo más mínimo que queríamos un poco tweek el pedido. Cuando llegó la comida estaba caliente (no superficial) y muy sabroso, como el delicioso café. Mirando alrededor, otros clientes comidas parecía como sugerente como la nuestra y todo a precios muy razonables. El lugar estaba muy limpio y acogedor, y nuestro grupo estaba encantado con toda la experiencia que decidimos visitar de nuevo el segundo día. De nuevo, excelente servicio, comida, café y toda la experiencia. Muy contento y volveré el año próximo en nuestra excursión anual.

Metimos en aquí para almorzar con mi madre tenía una madre de gambas ensalada Cesar con pollo tenía una ensalada. La comida estaba bien era simplemente una ensalada básica. El servicio estaba bien, no era mi tipo de lugar.

Since they have changed stuff the atmosphere is no where as good ! It's pretty much empty all the time now & they make stupid mistakes & can come across rude at times ! I ordered cheese on toast & what I got was two dry hard pieces of toast with cheese chucked on top ! Not appealing at all !! We won't be coming back ! Very disappointing !!

Been here many times. Food is always to a good standard. They will cook your food how you want it....i always get my chips nice and crispy and my coffee strong .

The squirrel on the sign outside is just cute as ever and the place is really ideal for families and friends alike.

Although this establishment has changed hands a couple of times, the friendliness and level of service has always remained. There is a wide menu choice from breakfasts, sandwiches, jacket potatoes to goulash and roast dinners. There is also a list of hot and cold drinks, and it's the perfect venue for a catch up with friends or a stop for weary feet whilst doing your shopping. There are tables and chairs or a couple of comfy sofas to choose from. People of all ages are welcomed and a ramp can be put down to allow for wheelchair access. The environment is also discrimination free. Restroom facilities are well maintained, if a little compact (!). You can get a loyalty card and earn a free hot drink after so many stamps (and they do add up if you become a regular!). An extremely popular venue.......shame there isn't a cafe just like this in other parts of the city (ie city centre). Thank you to all the staff at this little gem of a café.

When living in North End this was my regular meeting place with my daughter for Saturday lunch, that was with the previous owners, always had lovely food in a lovely atmosphere, returned there today, first time in several months and I have to say I was very disappointed. Our drinks were left on the counter, while the waitress had a conversation with her colleague, Untill I got up and another colleague quickly grabbed the tray and delivered the drinks. We asked for 2 glasses of tap water along with a milk shake and green tea. One of the glasses was dirty so i took it back and asked for another, the waitress questioned how could one glass not be ok , if the other was? I explained again that the glass was not washed properly and the water tasted horrible, she then decided to pull faces at me!! What!! I questioned with the owner how she was employed in a customer service position and that I did not appreciate staff pulling faces at me when all i had asked for was for the water to be changed. The owner changed the water and apologised. The food was ok however the 'cup' which contained the packets of sauces had dried on tomato sauce! When I went to pay the staff member who was pulling faces earlier decided to do it again, to which I pointed out to the waitress taking my money that this was unacceptable and he apologised and said this isnt the first time someone has complained about her! so why is she still working front of house?? I was given the milkshake for free with a comment of you will come back again wont you, I think the look on my face said it all, NO I WILL NOT BE BACK!

Very quick service family run. The 3rd time I've been just had to write in. I had all day breakfast.every thing was hot and I didnt have to wait long. Good atmosphere. Sofas to chill out on and free WiFi. Massive range of food & flavoured coffee. The only down side is they shut at 5pm.

This is a fairly big cafe in London Road, North End. Something about it attracted us in, not sure what, its not obvious, it doesn't stand out in any particular way. Once inside, its clean, neat, unassuming and simple. I had the most delicious latte coffee layered with butterscotch syrup and cream, then strong coffee melting into milky coffee. It was nicer than anything I've had at Costa or Starbucks. Brisk, cool, pleasant service.Next day I went back and had their Hungarian Goulash soup. WOW. it was home made and simple, but really nice. One more thing, the chairs are in some kind of zebra patterned wood, It's great!
