Cafe Nero in Kirklees

I had my usual large black Americano today. Staff on duty were as always so friendly and happy to serve me my favourite coffee. I treat myself to the Italian chicken and rice soup which was delicious 😋 It's dog friendly too 🐶

It was lovely to see a member of staff who used to work in Huddersfield, I knew that she had moved here and as I was in the area I thought I’d pop in to see if she was working! Lovely to see her with her new team! Coffee as usual was the best!

Really friendly staff and dog friendly. Good quality food and drink. The only downside is that it is often busy.

I don't know what's changed, maybe under new management? Somethings off! The atmosphere has changed recently, staff do not seem there usual happy/smily selfs, just miserable. The place is shockingly filthy and the toilet is a hazard - disgrace. Carry antibac wipes. I use to enjoy coming here for a cuppa but many factors are now putting me off returning.

I recently completed a click & collect order at the Leeds Birstall branch and was thoroughly disappointed with the service provided. I placed the order via the App at 10.40 and the App provided a collection time of 10.47. I went into the branch at 10.47 and could not see my order. After five minutes I approached the counter only to be abruptly told it wasn’t ready and it just gets put into the queue with all the other orders. This was quite a surprise as at this point multiple customers had come in after me, been served and had sat down with their orders. This also isn’t how it operates at other branches and basically negates any benefit of pre-ordering via the App. Luckily another member of staff overheard this conversation and corrected the first member of staff I spoke to saying it was ready but was still behind their counter (which I obviously couldn’t access or even see) - otherwise who knows when I would have received my order. The staff clearly have no sense of organisation or customer service skills considering the manner in which I was spoken to. By the time I was given my order, the coffee I had ordered was lukewarm. At this point I was so frustrated I cut my losses and just took my order. I certainly won’t be returning to this location.

Nice place for a coffee. The inside is a bit cramped and difficult to move around in when busy. Only one toilet as well so had to queue for that.

I have visited this Nero coffee shop highgene is zero if you seen the Metal Ceiling & Chain Pendant Light its all dusty u can seen the chain from dust,, And WC is always smell very very bad you need to hold ur breath when u goo in plus is dirty all around never goo back there.

Nice but very long queues and tables needed clearing. Perhaps understaffed. Staff doing their best though

Of all the big-named coffee shops, cafe Nero is my favourite. I detest Starbucks for obvious reasons, and I find Costa to be hit and miss. The last few times I went, it was constant misses. I'm now very happy with Nero and it's consistently good plus very pleasant service.

Great atmosphere, very popular on a weekend. There was an issue with the price of the food on display as I was charged more than advertised and it caused an issue with the till system. The manager refunded the money in cash and gave me a voucher for a free drink for the next visit. Very impressed with the excellent customer service at this Nero.

Loving the Christmas hot chocolate - delicious treat.

Walked in here twice, service was slow so I walked across to Costa coffee on both occasions .

I’m sick of coming in after 4pm and getting told the dishwasher isn’t working …. Is it okay if they give me a paper cup ! No i don’t want a paper cup , when I can see customers with normal mugs . This shows pure ignorance towards there poor system… I enjoy my coffee in a proper coffee mug. I felt under pressure and had to opt for a paper cup ! If they don’t have enough staff that’s not our fault …. We come to enjoy our time… I can understand it’s probably not the staff members fault , half the chairs are broken , damaged and I guess the dishwasher does breakdown!!!! But the area managers should support the branch .after taking my first sip I had to request a member of staff to exchange my mug, which kindly she did…

A very consistent experience commensurate with being a large coffee chain. My preferred drink is the Hot Chocolate Milano. It's the best of all the coffee chains. Can't comment on the food because I think coffee shop sandwiches always look a bit sad

AMAZING STAFF! We came with 6 prams and they were so accommodating and lovley!

Waited long time 5 people working long que sandwich was hot but hardly anything in got lattie very strong don't think it was worth the wait won't be back in a rush

Of the chains I have always preferred Caffe Nero over the others. The coffee was always great in every one I have visited. I visited the one at Birstall J27 yesterday though and was very disappointed. Service was very slow and had to ask twice for the huge pile of dirty dishes on the table I was sat at to be cleared away, then again to give the table a wipe as it was covered in sticky leftovers. The coffee wasn't the best either. Really disappointed.

Service as usual with these kind of coffee houses. Slow. Only went in as my partner wanted to go to the closest to where we were. Drinks were nice and food good Not impressed with the cleanliness. Low light fittings have not been clean for a good long time looking at the dust on them. Also toilets are the same. Bin linds in toilets are the same. Grubby not cleaned. Same with exposed plumbing full of cobwebs. If these are not dealt with, what isn't cleaned that we can't see.

Visited here today (25/05/24) and wasn't disappointed. Lovely place. I tried the Brazilian blend coffee. Very nice. The staff was friendly and the place was spotless. The food was nice and hot. Average prices for these places. Didn't have to queue for too long. Overall 10/10

Excellent coffee. Too many people use it as an office for my liking. This is, however, our coffee shop of choice for this shopping centre. We dont usually eat here

Oh dear! I ordered a drink at around 3.30pm today and I really do hope the young brown haired girl who served me today really finds some joy in her work, the vibe she displayed was so like she really wanted to be somewhere else or maybe she didn’t like my friendly attitude….? - I run a few shops in West Yorkshire (not coffee!) and if my staff members sent out negative vibes like that….. (-not blatantly rude as that could be challenged but just that passive silent bad person thing which is measured more in the responses, body language and expressions etc.)….they wouldn’t last long, but I suppose someone has to take them! It doesn’t cost anything to be nice and in fact it makes you more attracted as opposed to the opposite.

The manager is misleading and distrustful. He over works he’s employees and the staff are not pleasant. Ilvia and Leo ecspecially . It’s sickening how they get away with the fake pretence towards staff and their customers. It’s a vile place to work in . A lot of underlying issues .

Love this cafe. Staff are always nice and welcoming, it’s cosy and clean and coffee is good. This has caused me to spend far too much money over the past year on coffee than I should have… and I actually drive 4 miles to get here!

Cafe nero always wins with good coffee and yummy cakes. The loo wasn't working on the day I went which was a shame, but definitely a welcome change from other not as nice coffee options

I have had a very unpleasant experience today. The girl who served me didn't have a badge on and was very rude and unprofessional. I ordered a Vanilla Latte and requested the cream on top, used my Three+ discount code, and as she was about to hand my coffee over I asked her if she has added the cream on top and she replied I didn't charge you for it and gave me a sarcastic smile. I replied, but I asked for it while ordering you may have not heard me. She didn't reply so asked her again and she very abruptly replied, you should've given me your complete order before I took the payment and handed the Vanilla Latte coffee to me without the cream. I felt very disrespected and for a moment I felt like leaving the coffee there too. Never going back to this shop.

This is my second home pretty much. I don’t like the toilet area unfortunately but I don’t go there for that. Proper chilled and relaxed place all staff are efficient and always so lovely

Staff were amazing, lively products. However, the toilets need a really good clean. The tap handles and toilet handles were filthy, the silver bin was all brown and quite disgusting, and the floor and walls needed a good scrub. It did put me off somewhat

The staff would get 5 stars they are so friendly. Unfortunately the cleanliness would get a 1….it needs a thorough deep clean, my last trip it absolutely stank of dogs….extremely unhygienic allowing dogs where people are eating!

Well located at the entrance to the retail park. Seats outside so you can watch punters circling around looking for parking. With its friendly staff and comfortable decor and good range of snacks and light bites, this outlet is a bit of an oasis in the midst of a busy retail park. One star taken off for their 'complicated app' (not the outlet's fault I realise) and sometimes slow service at busy times (which is).

Coffee is good but I am not a regular visitor so found price lists a bit confusing and unclear, wasn't really sure what was available. Seating is interesting, the chairs we had were not old people friendly! Real bonus that we could park so close as we had an 83 year old with mobility issues with us.

Always a great cup of coffee. A few tables and chairs outside is a pull, now the weather is brightening up. Regular staff take care in their work, and acknowledge regular customers, a rarity these days ...thank you Plenty of parking as it's in the Birstall Retail Park

Lousy service. Had baby on arms . They didn't bring any of it and didn't bother to tell me it was ready was left on counter for 20 mins ignorant people

Asked for a de caf oat milk capachino, it was disgusting just an ordinary coffee, she then said it was £3.70p instead of the price on show £3.15p the assistant then charged extra for de caff and oat milk, was in m&s earlier got the same drink no extra charge for de caff or oat milk and it was lovely...wont be going to cafe nero again!

Just come once a week to claim my £1 any coffee from 3+ definitely best coffee of the chains

dirtiest caffe that i’ve ever been in! looks like it hasn’t been deep cleaned in a long time, the toilet is absolutely disgusting - extremely dirty, the shelves are full of dust and the walls are stained with coffee and other things

I had a mocha and a warm cinnamon swirl - delicious There was a spillage on another table and the staff member was there immediately to help clean it up - great service 👍🏼

Very poor customer service. Staff member chewing gum and the rest of the staff very unprofessional too. Did our coffee boiling and not requested it that way. Did not put cup protector on to drink that was way too hot. Had to ask to clean table as was very dirty, the cafe was not busy so no excuse. And a dog was allowed to run around unsupervised, which is dangerous and totally anti social.

Usually a pleasant place but the guy on shift today who is usually lovely was quite rude. Plus the toilets are absolutely disgusting, always are🤢
