First time we ordered a delivery from here. We were looking for a new Indian to deliver! We were having a quite celebration of our 45th wedding anniversary! Excellent and delicious food. Ordered Lamb Jalfrezi, butter chicken, pilau rice, tarka Dal, peshwari naan! Excellent ordering service ordered by phone & delivery service! We have our new place!

Legitimate contender for best Indian spot in London

This is the worst Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant I have been to. Starters were cheap and reheated from the freezer. Mains were just inedible.

High quality balti in south London. Would highly recommend the Nawaz Special which is a medium hot lamb + chicken curry. Bring your own alcohol Updated 2024: we have going here for 8 years and always enjoyed incredible food. However, we ordered takeaway through Uber Eats which was incredibly disappointing. The chicken korma (not my choice) had small, cold and tough pieces of chicken that were inedible. In the past, it’s been delicious. But today, disappointed. I will probably not return.

Hosted a birthday for 14 people at Cafe Nawaz - they were really friendly and helpful with accomodating a big group. It's bring your own booze with no corkage and very easy to book a table.

After 7 years of coming here I can say we have only had the 10/10 best experience

Hands down the best curry shop in London, worth ringing ahead to get a reservation as it's often busy. Being your own alcohol, there's a Tesco's round the corner to stock up. Would recommend the cafe nawaz mixed grill, divine.

While searching for an Indian restaurant near London Bridge station, I discovered Cafe Nawaz on Google Maps. After confirming they were open, we headed there and found a small, cozy spot. Our group included both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. My friend enjoyed the Paneer Masala, while my spouse and I savored the Chicken Tikka and Balti Ghost with naan. The portions of Balti Ghost and Paneer Masala were ample for two people. Our 15-month-old child was getting restless, but Mr. Muhammad came to the rescue by engaging and playing with him, keeping him entertained. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with delicious food. Cafe Nawaz is a must-try place, and we will definitely be returning.

One of the best Indian food in London I had. The price was quite reasonable as well. Service was superb and everything was top notch. I would recommend everyone to try food here.

Alright food, smallish portions.

Ordered med butter chicken, but it was not even mild spicy. Sauce was also way too thick for butter chicke. Think they delivered wrong food. Was very tasty.

The chicken had an unpleasant taste and was extremely chewy. I wonder if it was precooked and then microwaved.

The chicken monsuri was tasty and well presented. The mushroom rice was well made. Overall an excellent meal.😋😋

It was last Sunday night, we went to London from Manchester. Decided to go to London Bridge for a walk and then food . Everything closes at 10?? It should be 12 🙄 Anyhow, it was soooooo difficult to find any halal dine in place nearby. I made some phone calls, and the gentleman at this cafe gave me the option to order on call and said they will wait for us . They served us food once we got there (12 min away from Tower Bridge) - the service was soooooo lovely , we were super hungry so all the food tasted delicious 😋 but I fell in love with the service. Massive thanks to the cafe and compliments to the chef. Recommended PS I was so hungry didn't take any photos of the food.

Food is incredible, but I will say my portion of chicken tikka masala was a bit small. The naan is superb and flavors were incredibly rich throughout.

The food is mouthwatering, so richly cooked and very tasty. Menu has wide variety. Great for groups and you can bring your own drinks

It was an ok venue accommodating a large group. As for the food, I mean it was very tasteless. I wasn't expecting much but I was surprised by how flavourless it was. The veggie samosas had no flavour whatsoever, neither did the mixed veg curry. The curry in M&S has more flavour. I would not return.

Have been using this restaurant since it opened, many years ago. Always excellent.

We’ve been here quite a few times and have always enjoyed the food. The BYOB element makes it a really affordable night out and they offered to put our drinks in their fridge. A few times we have been the only patrons, which is a shame since the food is lovely. They deserve to be busier! I really enjoyed their Chefs special and their balti.

The chicken biryani had salt as the only flavour and the chicken was mostly dry. The tadka daal that came along with it was edible and nice and smoky. The salted lassi needed more salt surprisingly.

Truly awful. The one thing you cannot excuse in an Indian restaurant is tiny portions of curry. I asked for what they recommended - Chicken Moncuri - £12.95. It had approx a quarter of a chicken breast cut in to tiny slices. Tasty enough but so tiny it was crazy. My friend had the same portion size. we actually made a joke if they had brought over someone elses unfinished meal. No discount given either. I love curry , as i went to Uni in Bradford - but this is the worst I have ever experienced. I never normally leave reviews either !

Have been eating at Nawaz since it opened. Always delicious food and great service. If you are dining in, bring a bottle(s).

The food is always delicious. I have never once ever had any complaints. It's always freshly prepared on time. Their customer service is 10/10 100℅. For consistent delicious tasting food, I recommend you visit this restaurant.

Good quality food, great service great atmosphere. Just a shame the menu choice is basically the same as every other "indian" restaurant. But I guess that is what most people want, the same as they normally eat.

While visiting our son in London, we asked for his recommend for an authentic Indian food. We were expecting to hear a fancier fine sit down with a silver serving but he came up with something very authentic - something with heritage - Cafe Nawaz! His football club known as GKT often comes here. It’s their go to place for homely and tasty Indian food. We were very pleasantly surprised with the warmth and amazing hospitality. Cafe Nawaz served great food - butter chicken, chicken tikka and dal tadka was simply too good. Papadam as starter was a great start to this delicious dinner. Tanha served with a smile and the owner Mr. Mohammad also extended his two bits. It’s a gem of a place for a great Indian food and very pocket friendly.

Great location just a few hundred yards from London Bridge station. Very friendly staff and great food. Very reasonable prices, especially as it is BYOB and no corkage charges. Nice relaxed atmosphere.

We came on a Saturday night with some friends we hadn't seen in a while. The food was nice, and it's reasonably priced, it's BYOB and they're friendly. All good so far. BUT - we were joined by a uni sports social which took up 90% of the restaurant - they were chanting and drinking out of shoes and we couldn't hear each other at all so had to leave. Very disappointing and I would say to the restaurant - do one or the other but don't try to do both!

Really nice place, nice staff and it was really cheap as we took our own booze. But I've had better Indian food, maybe just what you are used to? I found all the food I had in London in a way disappointing compared to back home and what I could cook myself

The place was good and the service was nice. The spicy curry(I forgot its name) I ordered was just spicy enough for my taste, and the sweet lassi was very good. Definitely recommend.

The highlight of our stay in London was finding this restaurant which was at a walkable distance from our hotel. We ended up having dinner every single day once we discovered this restaurant. We are vegetarians and enjoyed the Vegetarian Biriyani. It was hot, tasty, full of spices and vegetables - not the watered down version you find in places outside India. Authentic and yumm. This was a staple though we did try other options. For starters, I would recommend the Onion Bhajji. With the 4 pieces served, it is a value for money starter - crispy yet tender. Other notable mentions - Coriander rice, the chappatis, the baigan bharta and the sweet lassi. It would be amiss of me if I dont mention the service at this place. Once the order is placed, the food arrives at your table in no time, piping hot. The owner of the place, Mr Mohammad is always on hand engaging the customers and making everyone comfortable. Hats off to Mr Muhammad and his loyal crew of Abdullah and the chef for making us feel at home in London. I am back in India and am not sure if i will ever find such tasty veg biriyani ever again. :)

Overcharged a group of 40 uni students by £4 each!!!! That equates to an extra 17 meals, don't come here if there's more than one of you, please. The food was nice though, maybe a little small portion

I have been visiting Cafe Nawaz for a very long time, the food is as delicious as ever. The service was not that great this time, it took a very long time and the cutlery was not changed, they took the cutlery already used outside the plate and placed it back on the table, I found this really bad. The restaurant was full and it was so noisy we had to shout and talked loud to be able to hear each other, not an enjoyable expirience, sad to say 😔

Cafe Nawaz simply the best value curry in london! I have been going here for years. It’s like a postman always delivers (bar these current strikes) The staff are amazing! The food is great. Tandoori mixed grill is my fave. I have taken the boys here for a big one, then on another night work colleagues and have even wowed the ladies. The restaurant is an all rounder and great for any occasion would 100% recommend and will be going back soon!

Love this Indian restaurant opposite Guy's Cancer Centre very tasty food with nice relaxed atmosphere. Staff are very personable. They do not sell any alcohol but you can take your own as a person who does not drink alcohol I really like the fact that there's no pressure to purchase drinks.

I think they are exhausted at late night. They serve partially cooked naan. Price of the food is also good so they must take care. They are not at all welcoming and seems not happy ( like why these people has arrived now), we reached there at 10:30. Man serving us is like not able to hear us or listen to us. We order dum ghost and it is very little in amount of what they serve, approximately very small 10-12 boneless pieces. Moreover their kulcha naan is horrifyingly uncooked. I may not visit again. But if you want go then please try to go early. May be they are welcoming at that time.

I'll start with the restaurant's owner, he is very friendly and welcoming. However I wished I could say that for the food. Overall the food was average. We ordered Paneer Peshawari, Monsouri Chicken, Nan and Biryani. Paneer vegetable was tasteless, Chicken Monsouri was very good in taste but with lot of oil in it. Nan was nice. Biryani was average. I felt down on the food.

Been here several times and always return. Brilliant service, delicious food, very reasonable prices. The only place I know that hasn't significantly increased prices. I would definitely recommend Cafe Nawaz. Thank you😋🙂😋 Muddassar, Guy's Hospital.

Super friendly and helpful as I needed a quick dinner and to get my phone charged. Food was absolutely delicious, and they even offered to make my dish a little less spicy as my Scandinavian taste buds were on fire with the lamb gosht. 😅 brilliant service and excellent food. Highly recommend!

I ordered food for 7.40pm as a friend was coming around at 7.30 .I was surprised when it was delivered 6.50 . Had to microwave the food . I won't use them again unfortunately

Great place to have a group social. Cheap curry with real quality ingredients. Cash only though. Edit: Apparently they do accept debit. No sign of this during our social though. I wonder why.

The service and food was great. Had mango lassi, variety starter, poppadoms, butter chicken, cafe nawaaz special and garlic naan. The butter chicken was more on the sweeter side but went well with the naan and mango atchaar.

Portions were so small. Half the container was filled for each. Nearly £40 paid for less than £20 worth of food. Only generous portion was for a random container of some kind of complimentary yoghurt. Save your £

I have been going to Cafe Nawaz for many years and I have never yet had a bad experience. Mohammed and his team are always so very welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble. The food is always amazing. BYO is an added bonus. I

EDIT Since the review below, their service has been outstanding. Incredible food, great staff and super happy that they took the time to answer me and solve the problem. Thank you again! - - - I have been their customer for the last 3 years, always finding the food delicious and recommending the place to my friends. Never to date have I had issues with them, however, in my last 3 consecutive orders, they have not respected my dietary requirements of being a vegetarian and they have given me chicken on those 3 occasions. I will no longer be going back which is a shame as I consider their food to be incredible. However, I find it disrespectful of them to give me meat irrespective of me stating that I am a vegetarian.

meal arrived on time and hot. Vegetable Samosa - excellent with crisp lettuce and lemon on the side. Tarka dhal - very good, just the right amount of garlic. Chicken dansak - good sauce but chicken was dry, tough and tasteless.

Great hosts! They were so hospitable even though there was a table of 30 of us at the table! Chicken tikka masala had lots of chicken in it and the naans were great BYOB is a bonus. Would recommend!

Clean and welcoming with solid uncomplicated comfort food. Poppadoms and chutneys not great though. Has the bonus of BYO.

The food delivered was a very small portion, we did not receive what we ordered and it was not value for money.

It's Bangladeshi restaurant not indian.. not bad, but nothing great...service was good the waiter was amazing.

Please stop putting your menu through my letter box! It clearly states no junk mail and also there are several of them littering the pavement and doorway outside! Because of your attitude to this I will never come to your restaurant and all my neighbours feel them same.
