Cafe Mylor in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Lovely view and good quality breakfast, spoilt by halfwitted dog owners who have no thought for other people. Barking, loud and aggressive dogs should not be in confined cafes, or should be asked to use the outside seating area. The owner/staff should take control of this as it felt like a zoo rather than a cafe. Couldn't wait to leave.

Extremely helpful staff and lovely well cooked food.... They kept our table despite us being late apologized for getting our order very slightly wrong and clearly wanted to give us a good experience......went the extra mile, very unusual in the world we now live in !!

A beautiful setting and the potential to be lovely. Its spoilt by the most miserable and unwelcoming waitress. I've come here a few times but when she's on it really ruins the visit. I brought family here for coffee and cakes, the other staff are lovely and Smiley but all my family commented on this particular young lady saying how bad the service was. Such a pity I love the harbour. The neighbouring restaurant is so much more welcoming AND cheaper

Booked a table for the Friday fish night. The fish was obviously very fresh. Both the fish and the accompanying vegetables were well cooked and very tasty! The portions were generous and sensibly priced. Looking forward to returning.

As locals, this is a favourite spot, however on this occasion, a casual lunch for three of us, consisting of two salads, a sandwich, handful of chips, coffees and two cookies was £73! The food was delicious as always, but the prices not reflective, especially when classed as a cafe. I appreciate it’s the summer season and many may not flinch at those prices, however out of holiday seasons I don’t believe these costings will keep locals coming in. We love coming here but prices definitely need to be reviewed with the current climate.

Wow! Amazing food. Two of us had the open crab sandwich off the specials board (best food I’ve ever eaten) and one the big Cornish and one the eggs Benedict. All food very well presented, the right temperature and full of delicious flavours. The cafe is more a restaurant in style and ambience and the staff lovely and friendly. Food came in good time. Cafe is clean and welcoming. I can’t wait to come again. Oh and the views 🩷

Great freshly cooked food and lots of GF options. The full Cornish breakfast is spot on. Good range of teas and coffees as well.

Whatever the weather it’s a lovely place watch the world go by, both inside the cafe or on the terrace outside. Friendly, efficient service and simple food, cooked well. Hugely popular so you might have to share one of the larger tables, but the atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly it won’t be a problem. For a treat we go for breakfast, brunch and afternoon snacks and never been disappointed.

Expensive and only average food. Staff mostly friendly but till lady mumbled instructions for payment and was obviously irritated by my lack of understanding. No smile, no charm, no patience.... And no waiting customers. No incentive to return.

Amazing roast dinner for mother's day. Beef was cooked to perfection and very tender and juicy. The veg was very delicious and yummy and roast potatoes were lovely and crispy. Lovely atmosphere and staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Love this place, visit regularly. A wonderful spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just coffee! Never had a bad meal here and its great in rain or shine! So glad its on my doorstep x

Love this cafe when walking between Mylar and Flushing. Staff always very friendly and drinks always good. Food is home cooked and freshly prepared. Lovely sitting outside in the summer or inside when the weather is not so good!

I love this cafe & come here often on walks or with friends as the food is always good but what's with the miserable faces?! I can't remember a time when I was greeted with a smile or any form of pleasantries from the staff here, no eye contact just a glum face. The atmosphere falls flat at the door & it's decidedly warmer outside than in, even in mid winter. Shame...

We walked the dogs from Flushing, really nice albeit muddy walk so we were very thankful to sit down in this lovely restaurant and chill out. We had the breakfast baps which were good value and filling washed down with a decent coffee. Dog friendly inside and out.

Popped in for a quick lunch yesterday (you might've had to swim there today!). The tomato and red pepper soup was beautifully flavoured, and the warm granary bread was lovely. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the lamb curry. Really great value for money.

Great location - unsure if staff realise working in the ' hospitality' industry - cheese toastie £8.50 with no salad/ crisps/ garnish - leave up to reviews if over priced Lots of potential😃

Been coming here for years….it’s absolutely fantastic! Food is awesome! Plus, I’m that awkward customer who always asks for Ham, egg & chips (even though it’s not on the menu) and they always accommodate me. Resultantly, I keep coming back….oh, and the food keeps getting better….thanks guys, superb job all round!

One of the staff was so rude, we just don't see a time we will go back. It is a great spot, good food, a nice atmosphere. We were looking forward to our usual stop off at the cafe during our extended month long holiday. We will just have to take a flask on our walks in future.

Visited today and what wonderful food ! Susceptibility fresh produce and very tasty there were 5 of us and not one negative or even slightly negative comments was spoken ! The service was excellent and the staff were warm friendly and welcoming. We arrived a couple of minutes before the kitchen closed but we was served with no issues and nothing but smiles and politeness. We were very grateful for this welcome. Happily greeted and welcomed our 4 dogs and sat and gave them treats and a drink a bit of a fuss! The Cafe was clean and looked great with a lovely outside eating area with a stunning views. Stumbled across this very good cafe/restaurant whilst driving around the Falmouth area. Just a short walk from the Mylor car park, the cafe's ambience is perfect for its setting, allowing patio views of the river and boats but cosy enough to sit inside awhile. The prices are fair for the location and the food tasty and plentiful. I had the mini breakfast which was good value for £7 and my wife had a big stack of pancakes and bacon for £10. The flat whites were good too. The staff were nice and created an amiable atmosphere in which to hang out. Recommended!

The kitchen staff made the most delicious vegan and full cornish breakfasts. We loved it. The service was wonderful and the views and atmosphere were brilliant. It was a really family friendly cafe. Thank you for making such delicious food.

We’ve been using the cafe for many years, regularly, all year. We live a few miles away. The food’s always been good and was today. The service is normally good, but today was dreadful. Party of six. Ordered chips for children and four salads/sandwiches at 1348. We were told they were busy and to expect a wait. Fair enough. When we sat down there were three empty tables outside and two of the large inside tables were free. We’ve frequently seen it absolutely packed. No queues at the till. Our four sandwiches arrived at 1452. They’d forgotten the children’s chips. They arrived about 1505. A very perfunctory apology. There appeared to be three men working in the kitchen, and several young women waiting on table. A poor performance.

I can’t here on Saturday for breakfast and was blown away, the food was great, staff lovely we sat in the window over looking all the boats. I ordered a deluxe hot chocolate which was perfect, shakshuka with toast which was so warming and hearty and the poached egg runny. Pancakes with berry’s, yogurt and bacon really good too . Highly recommend

Takeaway burger night. Food acceptable, and plenty of it. Nicely packaged. Slightly expensive for what is still a takeaway burger n chips...but then, see below? However...I have to moan (as I did to the "waitress" at the time - server would be a better description- to receive a withering look and a shrug of the shoulders) that it's NOT ACCEPTABLE to be presented with a card machine asking me to tip her, while standing at the outside counter in the peeing rain, ordering my takeaway! And of course Before the food had even been delivered, never mind eaten. Tip? For what exactly? Sadly, probably a sign of the money-grabbing, greedy_bastward times in post-COVID Cornwall? Disappointing. Obviously no tip!

Amazing Friday night dinner - delicious food, fresh produce, creative menu and really great service. Definitely recommend a visit but make sure to book a table as it can be busy.

We always save the best for last. We head for Café Mylor for breakfast on our last day. Serves fantastic food. Great staff and a wonderful view. A great memory to last until we come back next year.

We called in for a late lunchtime snack and were generally pleased. The goat cheese and mushroom toastie was tasty and big enough to share. Good coffee too. Only two things disappointed- the fruit scone was dry and had hardly any fruit, and on the next table a waitress seemed to have set up an office, working on her computer as the others brought her food. Made for a slightly strange atmosphere.

This place suited us perfectly. We had just arrived in the area for a 3 night stay and had to kill a couple of hours before we could access our accommodation. We chanced upon this great cafe. It had a good well balanced menu and actual food was good too. We were able to sit outside but sheltered from the showers so Covid safe. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We sat outside on a table next to the surf shop. When it opened, a sunglasses rack appeared next to our table, which created a browsing interest for people...would have been fine were we not in a pandemic. We also felt the tables could have been positioned differently to enable better social distancing. A few times people walked right by us. Ignoring all this, the coffee was great and food was ok. The view was spectacular though.

Very expensive for what we got. Everything served in a cardboard box which we weren’t made aware off but accept we are living in Covid times. Wooden cutlery and when paying £60 for 5 chocolates and average food we expected a little more. Food very bland, eggs benedict swimming in sauce it was almost like soup. The chowder was like dishwater. Very overpriced for the quality. Hot chocolates were nice, hence the 2 score & not 1.

The best cafe in Cornwall... Excellent food at fair prices. Cornish breakfast and pancakes with maple syrup and bacon are simply the best. The quality of ingredients is exceptional. How do you do this and have such fast service!? We've been coming here for 20 years and it just gets better and better. The staff are friendly and very professional with a slick system in place for corona times. Only issue is the wooden knifes and forks... They are really hard to eat with.. But we understand this is part of the current setup... Well done. You deserve all the praise you ate getting.

An excellent cafe, with a great range of food at very reasonable prices all served efficiently by super friendly staff. Plenty of outdoor seating with views and parking nearby. Highly recommend this cafe. Next door is Mylor Church which if you have time is well worth a visit.

We had a lovely lunch today. Great social distancing in place, and it worked very well. The food was great, especially my fish finger sandwich....best I’ve ever had. My son is vegetarian and would highly recommend the TLT. Thank you for a great lunch 😊
