Disappointing thick oatcakes..poor example for visitors. Not the beautiful thin staffs oatcakes. A traditional dish spoilt by quality of oatcakes..not your fault but review supplier

I returned to the museum many years later with my own three children, to show them Reginald Mitchell's 'Spitfire' (just as my nan had shown me when I was their age). When I was younger it was outside, and then moved into the museum.

Just had lunch here, very basic. Oven Baked Jackets potatoes, think they last saw the oven a few months ago, the cheese had little taste and the coleslaw was simple terrible. Considering it was heritage weekend this place should be packed but only 4 tables had people on. Service was fast but the food is microwaved and cheap and very poor quality. Plenty of other places to eat in the local area which have much better basic quality. Also very poor selection of soft drinks that are low sugar and not carbonated.

We visit here each week especially for their ham salad as it is fresh, plentiful and delicious! The place can get very busy and if there are groups in who have reserved tables then the salad appears smaller than if the place is quieter-other than that the food is reasonably priced and the staff friendly and helpful and the cafe itself calm , quiet and relaxing

The café at Hanley museum is located at the side of the disabled car park and one floor down from the main entrance. It is a special place that I go to when I am in Hanley because I love the food and the peaceful ambiance after a hectic shopping trip. The food is always good. The home made soup tastes home made, with lots of flavour, but my favourite is the local speciality, oatcakes with cheese and bacon. They are superb.

Lovely home made food and the sandwiches come with a generous garnish. I pop in from time to time when working in the local area and want a quiet oasis for half and hour or so. Perfect!!

visited the museum cafe again today after a while away. Service was excellent, there were a great many people dining there but the staff made easy work of this. Fast efficient service, friendly staff nothing too much trouble. Good choice on the menu with competitive prices. Food arrived piping hot and tasty. Would highly recommend a visit to the cafe when visiting the museum, or just to drop in for a friendly lunch.

Rather a dark room but pleasant assistant who went to the trouble of showing us that the only decaf coffee was Nescafe. Would like to have seen more home made food.

Had a lovely lunch and several tea breaks whilst visiting the museum. Wonderful hard working staff that had to deal with a couple of coach parties. We had cheese and bacon oat pancakes which were delicious, would go back just for them ! also delicious cakes and tea also

Average cutlery not so clean limited dirty tables pretty dire. A cheese and ham sandwich considered as luxury.

Expected a little more for the money. Everyrhing seems bought in, and not using independent suppliers. The oatcakes taste like those cardboard type from the supermarket. People come to the museum from all over the world and to introduce them to such a poor version of our local delicacy is criminal! And if you're going to put coleslaw on the same plate as an oatcake... please please use homemade or at least real slaw, not the vinegary long life stuff. The dinjng area is nice especially the conservatory although it does get very overladen with dirty trays wgen busy.

The museum cafe is a lovely place with very good staff. It is a bit pricey but the food quality is excellent and made fresh for you. we go many weekends and aren't disappointed.

Lovely pot of tea in a china pot with a jug of hot water. What a shame they "warn" us that if they get too busy they may not be able to serve the full menu. Why disappoint or threaten to disappoint us - simplify your menu.

Excellent value, very busy but service was great. Nick was very obliging and had a great sense of humour. Starters good portions and ample meat from carver Harvey. We'll be back

Called here this afternoon for a lovely carvery me and my girlfriend. The first time I went it was very good as part of a family and friends meal so called again today and it was even better. Lovely cuts of meat and a great selection of vegetables. Definitely worth a visit and doesn't break the bank. Shall be calling again sometime soon.

I visited here with my mum who is in a wheelchair. The staff were really helpful finding us a suitable table. It was very busy. The food and coffee were lovely, even my mum agreed (which is a big ask,my mum never likes anything 😁). The ladies work really hard and are very friendly. The atmosphere is lovely. I will definitely recommend to friends.

Absolutely brilliant food and service. Myself and my partner came here on a Saturday evening. We were served by Paul the General Manager who was very attentive and did everything to make our evening perfect. Steak was cooked to perfection and my partner loved his mixed grill. Can't recommend this place enough. We have already booked again for the family to enjoy for my step daughters birthday meal.
