Small cafe and seats are very close together. We chose for take aways instead. The food was very good. The packaging is not very environmentally friendly.

Service was really lovely, very close to the Victoria & Albert museum, the food was so delicious! Pho was incredible as well as the fried spring rolls and chicken wings. Came back twice! Definitely recommend!

We live locally and often passed by this restaurant which for all appearances looks like a simple cafe - very minimalist in decor and furnishings and unpretentious in every way but noticeably always full.As there are limited tables we booked a time. We had little idea as to the contents of the menu but the staff were very helpful and friendly and decided to heed their advice We had eaten in a diverse range of asian eateries but this we discovered was a real surprise - authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The dishes we had were obviously all freshly prepared and all full of flavour We will definitely return

We were really looking forward to nice hot bowls of fragrant Pho, and when they came to the table, we were hopeful...but unfortunately the broth was extremely salty and rather flat tasting- and no amount of the fresh herbs and condiments could improve it. I did not like looking at the slop bowl at the end of the reception counter, or the wall of supplies next to the toilets. I've had better.

Initially disappointed to be sat outside when we arrived for lunch because we hadn’t booked ahead. Comfortably re-seated inside after a short time when a table became available, as requested. This is a cosy, welcoming and efficient restaurant. Food was prepared quickly, looked appealing, tasted delicious and served at perfect temperature in generous portion. Thank you Cafe Mama Pho :) We enjoyed our stay. Great value. Recommended visit

A nice Vietnamese in South Ken. Rustic atmosphere but with outside seatings. The pho is good but the soup is a bit medicinal in smell. The noodles are well made and good portion. The spring rolls are not authentic Vietnamese but large portions.

It makes a change to find a place serving Vietnamese pho and rice dishes independent from the chains. Mama Pho Cafe in Bute Street fits rather well into that part of South Kensington which Is forever French given Vietnam’s French heritage. There are road signs in French on the wall. But it’s rather small. Even at midday on a weekday we were lucky to grab one of the few tables. Others who arrived later were willing to sit on benches in a rather chilly road outside. We started with salty squid pieces battered and fried. Chicken noodle soup and a noodle soup with mixed meats and prawns were hugely satisfying. The slightly thick noodles sitting in a watery yet tangy consommé were together with their contents beautifully cooked. A Singha beer and a pot of tea accompanied the food nicely.
