The restaurant is a lovely neighbourhood spot, but last night my partner and I were turned down at the door, and refused entry by the owner because of our service dog (fully accredited with paperwork), which is not only unfortunate, it’s also flat out illegal. The man (owner) wouldn’t be reasoned, and ultimately ended up missing out on an 8 person table. So not only did they break the law, also exceptionally poor customer service. We will not be returning.

We did not have a reservation and they seated us in a Friday night. It was early but still decent of them. The food here is good. Probably a little more expensive than other tapas restaurants in Kensington and nearby. But the food was different in some ways and elevated compared to normal tapas. Only criticism is that I think they forgot one dish and brought it at the end, after they had cleared out plates. They brought new plates and cutlery and a bowl of Patatas bravas. It’s a bit odd to just sit there with a plate of potatoes which clearly would have been better if brought with the rest of the food. This is sort of the whole point of tapas. But, I will say they were very good. Also, the anchovies are excellent 👌

Just a money trap. My wife and I had a reservation but when arrived my wife was feeling sick so we had to leave. We were charged a no-show fee (despite showing up) for the equivalent of a 4 people party. I discussed this with the restaurant staff and they didn't have any way to return the money immediately. We had to send emails that took them days to respond and in the end they only reimbursed us half the original 4 party no-show fee. 0 interest in their patrons. A waster of time and money. Portions are also incredibly small and too over-priced. The menu online didn't match the current prices. This restaurant is part of a larger company "Cambio de Tercio" (all their restaurants are together). Do not go to any of these places. They are an absolute waster of time and money. You'll be better off buying prosciutto and cheese in a store and eating at home.

Food comes delivered from nearby sister restaurant I guess, no kitchen behind this place. Ordered some Andalucian shrimps, but totally disaster. Fatty and not chrunchy at all. Fish taco OK, but nothing to write home about. Expensive, but absolutely no value for money. White wine by the glass served to warm, rude waiter, only reason to give two stars instead of one, was a nice female waiter trying to do her best. But please Michelin, take this place out of your list! You will find better places in every small city in Spain, London is supposed to be a culinary city!

Too much cream. Prices ridiculous. Some of us felt I'll the next day. 262.05 for 4 people. I had been here once before and thought it was great. I don't think I'd go again and not to the two sister restaurants either. It and they were busy. The wine volver on vivino costs 12£ they sell it for 35 There is a slightly cheaper one by the glass. It scores 4 on vivino but the mark up.is obscene. Boquerones 12.75. Should be 7 Pulpo 19.75. For a tiny bit full.of cream. What are they playing at? Doesn't even taste the way I should. They charge for bread. 1.5 forgot to charge for second lot of bread unless the 1.5 is unlimited bread which I doubt. Tortilla with a bit of truffle 16.25. Insured. Small tortilla not at all like in Spain complete ripoff. Churros and chocolate for dessert good idea. 8 £. Gambas ridiculous.Large and tasteless for 15.5 Brocolli 7.75. This place is pretentious. Always was.Appeals to.pretentious people. Not good quality. They should charge half the amount and get authentic Spaniards to cook. They think they are better than they are but can get away and have been getting away with it for years. I can already guess what the main dishes will be like. And check out the prices. It is in the Guide si what!!! That means nothing. It certainly doesn't have and never has any stars. Croquettes of chicken and ham the former better than the latter but at 8.5 that's nearly 3 quid each. How ridiculous us that. The tomatoes in sherry. Come on mate!!! 4.42 each!!! 4 of them17.68. They actually don't have a great selection of tapas. I asked if the tapas ( or pintxos) were better or different in the sister restaurants nearby and was told they were the same. The menus on the internet days differently. Also we booked for this place. Beer 4.75 Majestic 1.30 Service charge ( the sign of a greedy ynmodern) 29.12 on 232. All in all poor choice Pulpo tortilla tomatoes grossly and indecently priced. There should be somebody policing this. I would not go back and would also not go to Cambio de Tercio or to Tendido Zero. I really don't know how they can justify some of the prices. The pintxos were not terrible. They were poor. Pity. First time I went the waiter told me I couldn't hang in to the menu since I.migjt make a mess on it. It was I think.laminated. That's a first to be told that by the waiting staff. Pity. Half the prices improve the pintxos. Get someone good from Spain to come over and do it properly.

Only food that was served to satisfactory temperature was the Hake tapas; Both ham and chicken croquettes were lukewarm as were the oxtail burgers. Main course of Iberico pig could’ve done with seasoning and also was not particularly hot. Service was indifferent and ambience dull; as one of the original customers of Cambio De Tercio, I was expecting better. I’ve not been at the restaurants since they expanded. Apart from the main course, the food was excellent in taste but simply too cold. This is a restaurant that we’ve been to dozens of times, and it used to be a favourite of ours for Spanish food. No more! This visit was a complete disaster. The menu has changed dramatically. Classic staples of Spanish tapas have disappeared, and replaced by some kind of fusion cuisine. We didn’t go to a Spanish restaurant to eat mediocre Prawn Tempura, but that’s what we got as the classic gambas al allilo have been removed from the menu. Every thing we ate was disappointing- maybe they have lost their chefs during the lockdown! They have also jacked up their pricing to ridiculous levels. They have squeezed in more tables and in consequence the guitar player has been shunted into a remote corner where he is hardly visible or audible. We won’t be going back.

Finding ourselves in London's Gloucester Road at 8pm without a reservation and getting too late for any dinner booking, we came across this little gem of an authentic Spanish tapas bar 5 minutes walk from the Underground station. Authentic Spanish traditional tapas cooked and served by Spanish-speaking staff, the restaurant decor also adds to the authenticity of the experience; The bar and walls are stocked with an impressive array of bottled Spanish wines and spirits and festooned with bullfighting memorabilia. An outstanding Gazpacho for us both followed by sharing-plates of Ceviche de Lubina (Sea Bass), pulpo (octopus) and Ajo Blanco (white asparagus) and finishing with Tabla de Quesos (a cheeseboard); the flavours of all dishes were full and complex but well balanced leading to an excellent dining experience. All of this was accompanied with a a very good white wine - a Verdejo and finished with Orujo (a clear Spanish eau de vie) and espresso coffees. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, professional and ever so patient with us as we didn't leave until close-on midnight! Price-wise; not bad considering it's in a fashionable part of London. Service charge is added to the bill at 12.5% as with most places these days. Gazpacho at £4.50 and Tapas dishes are between £9 and £19. A bottle of house white is around £30, so not cheap, but very good quality. Highly recommended. This tapas bar also has two 'sister' restaurants situated opposite on the same street with menus catering for more modern Spanish tastes.

We went to this place based on the menu on their website which wasn't available. The waiter was very kind and offered to bring the tapas dishes from next door. We ended up spending £130 for an incredibly mediocre meal. We were brought bread which we didn't ask for and charged for it. During the whole time there was a guy with a guitar who played so loud and tapped his foot so much that our table was shaking. I thought loud music wasn't allowed, because of covid. There were also two groups of people who definitely didn't belong to the same household. Overall, a really bad and expensive experience. The waiting staff were kind though.

I have been coming here for ages. It is amazing - all of it, the food, the impeccable service, the fun atmosphere! I would highly recommend it. Hope they can stay open x

I’m sorry, but this meal didn’t work out for us. We were squashed next to the door, which the waiter was going in and out of constantly to their associate restaurant next door. If it was a warm evening, then we wouldn’t have minded so much. On the open table email confirmation, we were directed to a menu which had paella on, and when we arrived there they didn’t do it - which I is what we had set our hearts on :(. Social distancing here during coronavirus wasn’t happening as tables weren’t spaced out too well. This could have been an ace evening, but I’m sad it didn’t work out.

Excellent as usual. Thank you, Eric and rest of the Capote y Toros team for looking after us so well despite the current challenges.
