Cafe Helen in City of London, Westminster

The hummus tasted like tahini, the garlic sauce had no garlic, just tasted like yogurt and so so so much lemon. The chicken was not tasty either. I was excited to come to this place as I heard about it but was very disappointed. I would not recommend it at all!

No one can go wrong with a Helen's Shawarma Wrap. It's is a classic, queues out the door but served with in minutes.

I have been to many shawarma restaurants, and most of them have marinated chicken, but this restaurant, to be honest, is sometimes terrible, and the hummus is also terrible sometimes.

Went at around 2am, food was fantastic, the mixed shawarma & lamb shawarma were so tasty and fulfilling we had to get round 2. Recommend this place to anyone who wants a delicious shawarma

Lovely kebab shop, very nice food, and very nice stuff after a night out

Ordered their chicken shawarma, mix shawarma and mix shawarma platter. Both taste very delicious although the price is a bit high as compared to the quantity. Their garlic sauce is very tasty. Totally recommended.

Best Shawarma ever I tast in my life

For what it is, it is expensive. I ordered a chicken wrap but instead got a salad and chips wrap with a small bit of chicken in it. It's not as though they ain't charging good money. I think it was £9 for a small chicken wrap, but as I said above, it is really just a salad and chips wrap with a couple of bits of chicken in it.

I ordered beef shawarma plate it was the best shawarma i’ve ever eaten , & the spicy sauce was very good.

Best shawarma! Soft meat, homemade source and super fresh tasting with great spices. Only took about 5 minutes too. Worth every penny!

It’s the best shawarma you could get in London. The wrapping is light and freshly served the chicken is actually chicken you don’t get random pieces of skin or annoying fat it’s properly seasoned and the SAUCES oh my god I could eat the sauces on their own and the FRIES?? They stay crispy even when cold??? Idk what magic they’re doing in their kitchen but I’m happy with it. The service is really good too. Don’t miss this spot it’s definitely worth your money. Get the chicken shawarma platter (you can get 4 wraps out of that so it’s more economical) and get some sprite with that it’s so yumm , for some reason everything is a lot better during the afternoon timings the night time I felt like bcs it was cold the food got cold quicker and it wasn’t the same vibe as afternoon

Shawarma, falafel, etc. are popular and prepared on order. Staff is efficient. Management may be improved. Lamb Shawarma is best. Their herbal sauces are very tasty. Konafa is well prepared and properly garnished. Humus is best and served with pita breads. Staff is responsive but need improvement. Cleanliness is maintained.

The best shawarma in the UK. The quality of the meat is really good and their garlic sauce is just incredible. Really sad that now the shawarma wraps are only available for take away.

The food was really good, and we were having a nice time with our friends. But unfortunately, the staff asked us to leave as soon as we finished eating because they said other people were waiting for a table. It felt really rude and unprofessional. We didn’t feel welcome at all, which is a shame because the food was actually great. Very disappointing experience overall.

Shwarama is to small the large was basically the same meat portion as the regular really not worth £13. The size used to be much bigger so prices gone up portions got smaller.

The large shawarma feels like it has been reduced in size. Only advantage is shawarma is available till 6 am.

Best place for Shawarma In London

Used to be a great place! Clearly greed have now taken over! Visited yesterday and was given a menu with happy new year written on it and prices on it were at least 20% more than usually! Further more before entering they warned us that we can't order warps! I have 2 kids with me who just wanted to have sandwich's and while everyone around us were having wraps we were not allowed! It wasn't even dinner time, we entered at 16.15pm! Will mover visit again!

Absolutely delicious shawarma option in Edge ware road, nothing competes with it. Even when crowded it doesn’t take much time until your turn pulls up. Stays opened late, good food and amazing service, and never fails you, eclectically when you don’t wanna spend much money ahahaha.

Sandwiches can only be ordered for takeaway doesn’t make sense but food is good!

The man on the tills who’s wearing glasses overcharged me £1 for a normal chicken sandwich and when another person that he known was paying for his mix shawarma which costs even more then mine, he only charged him £8 which doesn’t make any sense, I feel betrayed when that happened, also the food is not that good the chicken was dry and the meat was full of fat and small bones.

I’ve given Cafe Helen multiple chances, hoping they’d improve, but every visit is worse than the last. As an Arab, I know what good shawarma tastes like and this is far from it. I specifically asked for it to be juicy yet they didn’t listen.They serve me dry food without the extra sauce I clearly request every time. But that man never ever listen

Where bad food quality meets horrible service ! Used to patron this shop during my student days and it was one of the best ; came back to the city for a visit and dropped by for a quick bite and it was one of the worst kebab that we ever had. We ordered large chicken (spicy) and a small lamb (non spicy) and both ended in the garbage bin after two bites exactly. Next door there is cafe Halen which is owned by the same people but you can’t eat your food at the cafe (?) weird stuff all around. And it was practically empty but next door (a Lebanese joint was full packed) guess need to move on from Helen and it’s legendary kebab of the past.

This was my first time in their restaurant. The food is very delicious and staff are very attentive. I highly recommend their mixed shawarma. I had shawarma in multiple restaurants, but their shawarma is more delicious.

Really quick service and food was amazing!! Plus, a little treat when leaving. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Food was great, we ordered humous that came with complimentary bread, halloumi cheese and mix shawarma platter. The taste was good, however was a bit disappointed when the “platter” came out. It was just on one average plate, barely a platter!!!

I bought a large size shawarma which cost me £13 but it consisted less meat than a small doner from a Turkish restaurant. It might seem good for some people but I have worked in kebab shops and It was not impressive.They just put a load of sauces on it so that the customer just may be easily duped. Apart from this,the meat was not properly cooked.I had a very disappointing experience and won't recommend it to anyone.

I used to be a fan of this place for shwarma. Especially took my family there to impress them. Ordered in advance over the net. Wrote that i would not want spicy sauce, but requested for extra tahina and pickled in our meat shwarma. I asked at the collection if the order was understood, and the gentleman said yes. We took it away and on the way we opened and we had a dry shwarma with hardly any pickle and hardly any tahina. We bought almost q0 shwarma and the taste of the marinated meat was so subtle that it felt boiled.... It was very disappointing that despite all the checks the order was disappointing and even thinking about it the taste of the night's shwarma puts me off from going there again.

If you’re in edgeware road or nearby you must get a shawarma. Don’t waste your time eating anywhere else.

It’s an ok shawarma. Not the best as many say here. I had the large lamb wrap which is: 1. Expansive 2. Not spiced enough 3. Narrow and long 4. I can’t see all their toppings which is a must in any shawarma place.

Best Shawarma I’ve had in a long time. Their spicy is pretty spicy so if you have a low tolerance, ask them to do a little spicy. But you definitely want to get a little bit of that chili sauce on there, it makes the whole thing.
