The reception staff is welcoming and friendly. Ruben at the bar took care of us and recommended and great signature cocktail (I can't remember the name of it!). The atmosphere was lively and energetic without being too loud, a perfect balance for a relaxed yet vibrant evening. Most of the tables were occupied but the service was high quality and everything went smoothly

To whom it concern: my stay at the Holmes hotel was absolutely fantastic. The service is A+ and the staff extremely helpful. I had lost my dogs favorite plushy toy and the night manager assisted me in finding it. A lovely chap he was, possibly still is. The rooms were clean and tidy but not too soulless. The cocks at the bar were delightful and full of flavor. I would definitely return. Also the security guard named Omar was very helpful.

I walked in to make a reservation and Marie (from Italy) was incredible. She accommodated us even though we had to change rooms. When we had an issue with a bathroom door not closing, they quickly changed our room as well. The Service was excellent!

Stayed on business in 2019 because it was near the office. Came back with family this year because of the staff and neighborhood. Hotel is great. Leans into the theme, but not too hard. Staff from check-in through to service have been phenomenal this visit. Easy access to transport and short walk to shops and restaurants. Rooms are good-sized to large and clean.

Fantastic location and helpful staff. The room was comfortable and quite nice. A few minor issues which could’ve been addressed - the mechanical curtain didn’t close all the way and the shower head was stuck in a wonky position.

The Holmes Hotel: Where Exception Becomes the Rule” Imagine a place where excellence isn’t just a standard, but a starting point for something magical. The Holmes Hotel transcends this realm, proving that some places don’t just understand hospitality—they redefine it. From the get-go, they accommodate the absurd—like our laughably early check-in request—turning potential chaos into a concerto of convenience. But it’s what they did for my daughter’s belated birthday celebration that transformed appreciation into sheer awe. Picture this: balloons not merely filling the room but bringing it to life, a bear not just for cuddles but as a forever friend, a cake so decadently delightful it could make a pastry chef weep, and a book that promises not just stories, but dreams. And then, as if penned by invisible hands of warmth, a happy birthday message that wasn’t written on paper but etched directly onto the mirror—and into our hearts. Returning for our third visit, I was reminded why The Holmes Hotel is more than a place to stay—it’s a realm where the extraordinary is the norm. They didn’t just make our day; they etched this visit into the annals of our fondest memories. Choosing The Holmes Hotel again? A decision so right, it feels like the universe applauds our selection. Outstanding? That’s an understatement. The Holmes Hotel isn’t just playing the game of excellence; they’re setting the rules.”

I don't particularly enjoy having altercations, but at this place, I was not comfortable during my stay at all. Especially with the rude concierge, after being scolded for eating my food near the fireplace in the drawing room. She then asked if I was staying there or just a guest. I don’t expect everyone to remember me, but she’s the one who confirmed my reservation, by the way. My experience should feel relaxing and not aggravated as if I’m walking on eggshells, especially for 300+ a night. I arrived at this hotel on the 24th of Dec. for a nine-day stay. Given our flight delay and the way reservations were made, we arrived hours later. Since we didn’t use the room the night prior, I asked kindly if that one night could be refunded. They refused to accommodate me based on their policy. I stayed respectful and asked politely if they could look into it. The following day concierge told me they could only do 25% off that night and that they weren’t even suppose to do that but will do me a favor! The staff handling this said, “We are already accommodating this for you when we don’t have to, and once I complete my stay, they will refund 25% of that night only.” I thanked them and moved on. One of the evenings, I was sitting in the lounge seating area near the elevator (not a bar or restaurant) but the drawing room, where you can sit, play board games, or relax by the fire…one of the concierges walked by and said: “You can’t eat outside food here only in your room.” A few hours prior, there was a group of kids and a family that practically destroyed the living room and left trash and their snacks. These kids killed the area by throwing little potted plants, ripping them out of pots, and crushing them. Dirt was everywhere. No one reprimanded them or even batted an eye, yet I couldn’t sit by the fire and eat a small sandwich. I have stayed at many hotels, and I’ve never had such a hostile experience. I’ve spent over 3,000$ on a small, dirty room and a rude receptionist. If I had known this, I would’ve paid more to stay elsewhere. The room has broken lights in the bathroom, and the bathroom fan doesn’t work when showering, causing mildew growth around the shower tile. The shower was dirty, with holes in the walls, mold in the shower (needs to be recaulked), holes in my pillows, dusty bathrooms, rust all over the shower head and sink, and the shower head had hair. I know the room was cleaned because it has condiments with “washed towels.” Some of you will say well, why didn’t you say anything. I did! What were they going to do? Move me into another dirty room!? We arrived early afternoon, dropped off bags and went to get some food. I didn’t discover any of the issues until later that night. It was disgusting. I am not going to move rooms when I just had a long day and I am jet-lagged. I’m already being refused a one-night refund and any other accommodations. I simply want everyone to know what you are paying for, that's all! On top of that, the staff had weeks to repair and clean that room before my stay. Again, I understand not everything is going to be perfect, but if I’m spending more than 3k on a room, I at least would expect it to be clean. This isn’t my first trip to London or Europe. I’ve traveled all over. I swear, after COVID, everything is getting run down and run through. People do not respect anyone and lack of self-awareness. Customer service is down the drain, and no one gives a rat's tail. It’s sad What has happened. I have worked in hospitality before, and I am not an entitled person who thinks the world spins around me. See photos for yourself. The restaurant is dirty, and the chairs and seating area are dirty. The staff doesn’t wash their hands or clean the tables (zero sanitation). The uniforms are dirty, BO. The only good thing about this area is the location and coffee shops!!!!! Just be careful and watch your step outside walking, you might just step into dog poop! Update: manager reached out to me after this review and offered refund for the night I wasn’t there.

After visiting the Sherlocks Holmes Museum on Baker Street we were looking around for a halal place to eat while walking back to the underground. And we found it! Situated just before the Baker Street Station (next to a bus stop) its a nice place to stop before continuing our exploration of London. We were welcomed immediately by the owner & showed seats by the window. We had the kafta with rice, shawarma lamb & chicken and humus. It was all yummy! The staff was very friendly & helpful. The orders came fast & hot. There was seating downstairs too but we sat by the window at street level to look at the world go by. Price wise it is comparable to other Lebanese grill outlets in London. A nice place to fill up our tummy to face more hours of walking!

Superb food, large helpings.. appropriately priced considering the location. This is tight next to the baker's street underground (very close to Madame Tussaud's). The only problem we faced was the person serving us did not understand English, albeit she was very cordial, hospitable and kind, but we had a difficult time explaining what we wanted, especially extra cutlery, sauces, water. Must try, good and authentic Lebanese food.

We stayed at this hotel, and I must say the hot chocolate we had here was the best! But the one dinner we ate here was only so-so. Not bad, but I think we could have found something just as nice (or nicer) at any one of the nearby restaurants for less money. Still, the staff was very, very friendly and helpful.

I live locally and have come multiple times with friends and family. Excellent food and service. See Ali the owner if you need anything special. The mixed grill is a massive portion for only 11 pounds. Haloumi made to perfection and the best kibbeh I Have ever eaten. This place will never let you down! It is new so I hope the locals and tourists will support a place that offers such good cause for the money. A rare find! If you like Shisha you can also get an excellent one here and the opening hours are later than other local spots. Bravo for everything and one more mention that the moutabal is also the best I have ever tried.

Friendly young lady taking orders. Had Falafel and Shish Taouk and they were both delicious. Falafel is hit and miss in London but not here. Spot on. Plenty of choice of sauces and Tahini is very moorish. Definetly recommend if you like to watch London roll passed whilst eating.

New place on Baker St and the grilled food smelt good. Went up to the counter, chef saw me and ignored me. I thought it wasn't his job to take orders so didn't think anything of it apart from he could've smiled or said hello. Another person came to the counter and chef greeted, started a conversation for about a minute and offered him a drink and after a further minute then asked what I would like to order which really got me mad. Anyway, I ordered the mixed shawarma roll. Without asked what fillings I would like, he started placing bits and pieces of salad and sauces on the flat bread. He then shaved off a little lamb and a little chicken from the rotisserie and wrapped the roll up to go. I already knew this wouldn't be an enjoyable shawarma roll from the amount of meat in the roll. There was more bread than meat! Unwrapped and had my first bite, bread. Second bite, bread and salad. Third bite and got to some meat but not worth the wait or money. £4.50 for the shawarma roll which compared to other locals is about the smae price however the other locals food is better, more flavour and quantity.

Small narrow restaurant with an open shop front for takeout and ordering. Approached the counter to place an order for takeout during lunch hour although staff member saw me, he continued prepping another order. Another person approached whom the staff member knew and started talking totally ignoring me. After a minute or so them talking, the staff member decided to ask me what I would like. I ordered the mixed shawarma roll. Without asking what salad items and sauces I'll like to have in the roll, he started added salad items and sauces to the flat bread and then shaved off a tiny portion of lamb shawarma and chicken shawarma and rolled it up. There was more flat bread than meat! It was a small shawarma roll compared to the average around this price range, £4.50. Taste was ok, below average.

Lovely service, friendly staff and an extensive, authentic menu. We ordered the lamb passanda which was cooked beautifully as well as the chicken tikka masala and king prawn biryani. Flavours were good and deceivingly large portion sizes. Would have like the pilau rice to have a bit more flavour and ingredients but overall a good meal. Worth visiting for pre theatre
