Cafe Goa in Central Bedfordshire

All 4 dishes were really tasty. Veg biryani with madras sauce, chicken tikka masala, lamb madras and Chef’s special curry. One of the best biryani’s I’ve had in a long while. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Looking forward to returning

Must have caught it on a bad night or I've been spoilt by my usual indusn restaurant but found the food mediocre. It was a quiet night only 2 other tables, the restaurant lacked atmosphere also.

First visit to this restaurant - if I lived nearer, I would eat here regularly. Spoiled for choice on the menu. I had the chef’s special, which was delicious. Even enough to take some home for next day’s lunch. And they do jugs of lassi (sweet, salty or mango).

Great food, great people, simply superb. I went to Barton Le Clay to campaign for much better politics in Mid Beds and we wanted an excellent meal. We found it at Cafe Goa. Please vote for Alan Victor on Thursday - The True and Fair party !! Thank you for a lovely evening.

Cafe Goa is one of our favourite places to eat locally. I had arranged a surprise birthday dinner for my husband Mark for his 60th birthday. He thought it was just five of us going but when we got there all our family were waiting and hidden round the corner in the seating area! They started singing Happy Birthday and Mark was so surprised!! We had a really lovely special evening with the people we love most and were really spoilt by Cafe Goa! The food was absolutely delicious and there was plenty of it and the drinks flowed too!! We couldn’t have celebrated Mark’s birthday any better anywhere else. We had dinner here on 17 March. We are regulars here and have never been let down. As usual the service was very good and we were well looked after. All our food was well prepared, well presented and very tasty. Dinner with drinks was a very reasonable £72. Will gladly return again.

Went for dinner and were very pleased with the options in the menu, managed to have a vegan meal with lots of dishes to chose from. Also the meals were not oil heavy which made them all the more enjoyable.

Have been dining here with family and friends for a few years now ,to date the food and service have been consistently on point otherwise I wouldn’t give them my custom. The latest visit was almost no different, food was well presented , fresh , tasted very good and considering we had drinks we were still surprised at how cheap it was . My only reason for not giving 5 stars on this occasion was they had heating on then turned it off just before our main course so it wasn’t as comfortable as it was when we first arrived . Please can you refrain from doing this .

My partner and I regularly visit this restaurant and have had many take aways, however this evening I was extremely disappointed with the service we received. When placing the order, the man on the phone said it would be 45-50 mins which I accepted. We were still waiting for our food an hour and a half later so I rang the restaurant for an update and the man said it was coming. I explained I had been waiting way over the scheduled time and yet they still could not tell me how long it would be. I asked if we could receive some discount/money off as we had now been waiting over 1 hour 40 mins. The man refused this and said he couldn’t afford to offer me anything so he will not deliver the food. I then explained that this is not good enough and that I shouldn’t have to ring round for another delivery after waiting nearly 2 hours. He then said he would take £1 off the bill, in which I said that’s not acceptable. He then said “take it or leave it” and began laughing. Our food arrived after 1 hour 55 mins and was of course, cold. I understand places are struggling and money is tight for everyone but good customer service costs nothing. The man on the phone was incredibly rude and found the whole conversation highly amusing. Safe to say I won’t be visiting again.

We had a lovely experience this evening. The staff are very friendly and polite. The food was fantastic, really tasty and presented very well.They were great with our daughter and kept her entertained throughout. The little additions at the end were very nice and included a hot towel and mint chocolates with our bill. I would highly recommend this restaurant to couples, families and friends going for dinner.

Our first visit to cafe goa as I’d heard good things. Well it didn’t disappoint, I was worried that my friend who was dying for a curry as they hadn’t had one for ages was going to get a bad one. All three of us said how lovely and fresh the food was and will be back soon. Highly recommended.

Excellent attentive service. Breath of fresh air to have a genuinely great experience. Been here 3 times in last month or so, now ready to review as I think it is thoroughly deserved. Great food each visit and always made to feel so welcome. Good advice and recommendations from waiters, and really friendly. Food is always subjective but all I can say is that the Menu is eclectic with the normal options but also some very different/unusual choices for those willing to try something different. I did and I wasn’t disappointed! Well worth a visit.

Delicious meal at cafe Goa tried the mixed kebab starter this evening was very tasty & filling. I had Prawn sag main which is always tasty (and slimming too) husband had chicken tikka balti said it was very good. No room for desserts but with bill get little chocolate which can never resist nor the little drink given also. Will be back for many more dinners as food & staff both great & never had a bad meal

We went for the buffet dinner at Cafe Goa where you got a starter, main dish, rice or naan bread and a vegetable dish. House specials and Prawn dishes were extra. All pretty standard. However, when the bill came we were charged extra for mushroom rice, chicken Tikka masala, for the boxes to take extras home and for the carrier bag!!! The buffet price was 15.95 and we ended up paying £27.50 each!!!!

We had a family meal for four and it was very good. Sanjay was an excellent waiter with nothing being too much trouble and all dishes came out perfect. Additional chilli, garlic and ginger added which was no problem for them. Would recommend this restaurant

Food was excellent overall, the pakora wasn’t quite right but even without us mentioning it, it was noticed that we hadn’t eaten it all. Not only was it taken off the bill with profuse apology we also were offered a free side dish. The service was friendly and attentive, good wine and beer, we really had a lovely evening. Covid safe, temp taken on entry, hand sanitiser, tables cleaned after every guest. First class Cafe Goa, we will deffo be back, keep up the good work.

As it was fathers day, we thought we would try Cafe Goa instead of our usual Barton-le-Clay Curry house. We were excited to try something different, but I have to say some of the dishes were disappointing. The Chicken Samosas tasted strange, and were tough to eat. The popadoms were not as good as their competitors and the Lamb Madras was ordinary with the meat unrecognisable as Lamb. On the plus side, the Prawn Saag was excellent, as was the Cheese Naan. Unfortunately the mushroom rice had hardly any mushrooms and the Keema Naan had very little meat. We enjoyed the buffet food we had perviously, and will give them another chance, but we were definitely disappointed.

Our second Sunday Buffet in a row here, excellent quality food especially the chicken tikka and potato pakora, very clean and tidy, parking out front, polite waiter who leaves you alone.

A group of 21 of us chose Cafe Goa for our Xmas meal, because it was so good last year. The guys here really know what they are doing and they really care about their customers.Everyone really enjoyed their food. Not a single grumble. We are regulars here, couldn’t ask for better service. Banquet nights are by far our favourite, great value for money.

We visited a good few years ago when the restaurant first opened and were fairly impressed , but being from Luton we generally didn’t venture into BLC that often and so never came back, purely down to our location. However having recently moved into the area we were keen to try Cafe Goa again and have ordered takeaway twice in the last few days. On Both occasions, we have been very impressed, particularly enjoyed the Xacuti . Will need to slowly work through the menu, which we look forward to ..

This Indian restaurant is in our village and is the only one we use and visit very regularly. The food and service is always excellent and we highly recommended it. The decor is really nice and all the staff are friendly.

Food is standard takeaway fare (the sort of sub-par but it’ll do kind). Really nothing special and not especially authentic either. Friendly and helpful staff though.

It was our first visit to Cafe Goa following a recommendation from friends. They have become regular customers and so we met them there early on a Friday evening. Every member of staff was very attentive throughout the whole evening, and nothing was too much for them. The decor is beautiful, a lot of thought has gone into it, giving a modern but relaxing feel. The place is spotlessly clean, and the food was delicious. The restaurant owner personally comes to see each guest after their meal to check everything was ok, and seems really keen to make every diners experience an excellent one. There is parking in front of the restaurant but this fills up quickly, so allow time to find somewhere to park nearby. We will definitely be going back again and again.

After a 2hr journey from Heathrow we drove straight to Cafe Goa for a lovely family meal.Great food and a new dish was tried and v nice too.Great food!

Friday night 7:00, no booking. They were busy but found space for us. Friendly and attentive staff who wanted to please , very charming. Nicely laid out tables not to close. Great mains of king prawns with aubergine curry, chicken dupiaza and mushroom rice and sag paneer and peas. Good beer.
