Myself and children visited recently for the first time. The staff were friendly and the food very good value for money. I had the adult's breakfast and they had children's size. Very good food and very reasonably priced. My only very slight grumble was some of the tables are too close together. We will definitely be back. Thank you x

What a lovely little find! Cafe Express doesn’t look very welcoming from the outside, it has a wooden covered ‘sitting out’ area at the front that detracts from the amazing old building. Once inside you see the beauty of this lovely building and how nice the atmosphere is. We had drinks and a light lunch. I had a loaded jacket potato and my friend had chicken fillet skewers on flat bread off the specials board. Cost £7:00 each. There was plenty to choose from off the menu & the specials board. We enjoyed our leisurely lunch, nice ‘Olde World’ atmosphere, nice food. Would visit again when in Worcester.

First visit to Bridgnorth and popped into the cafè for lunch and a drink. Ordered a coffee and two hot chocolates which arrived promptly - only issue was the hot chocolate could have been a bit warmer - I prefer a 'hot' chocolate rather than warm but it tasted lovely and the cream on the top seemed 'real' rather than aerosol cream? We ordered panini's and a toastie which arrived after about 10 minutes, tasty simple, non pretentious food which did the job on a wet rainy day. Staff were pleasant, service was good, building maybe a bit tired and needing an update but that didn't detract from a pleasant visit. Thank you ladies.

Slightly difficult to find a dog friendly cafe in Bridgnorth but here we could sit outside under cover (with thoughtfully provided rugs) with our dog and people watch on market day. The sausage sandwiches were tasty and the cappuccinos were strong, frothy and delicious. Really friendly young staff.

After taking up Road cycling this year...I have stopped at various places for coffee and cake...it now appears that I enjoy this one so much it has become my usual and I chose to go to Bridgnorth and always stop here now as its my favourite. I actually think sbout what cake im going to reward myself with along with cappuccino enroute. Always end up with a brief natter with other friendly customers or staff/owner there. Atmosphere is great. Cake is fantastic.. Tangy lemon... Espresso cake. Walnut... Beautiful. Good price, and they even let me put my bike inside when it poured down....definitely going to keep on using it...though not as much when winter comes but soon as spring is here... Weekly cake treat!

Popped in for a drink and a snack to share with my mum. Ordered 1 ham and cheese baguette, 1 coffee a bottle of water and 1 shortbread biscuit which come to nearly £10. After nearly 10 mins a panini arrived!!! Which had little filling in, We just shared it but I'm pretty sure I asked for a baguette? No biscuit arrived ...to be fair the girl did fetch 2 and apologised but they was stale and not fresh in our opinion. So didn't eat them. Not impressed one bit, very overpriced and poor service

Stopped in for lunch and should have been warned by the empty chairs. Everywhere else was full. I ordered soup and my wife a panini also asked for sparkling water but they had none. I started panicking when I heard the microwave. It arrived after 15 mins luke warm and sent it back. Got it back sever pings later and it was hot but was simply a tin of tomatoes with no taste/flavour. My wife pointed this out when paying and was greeted with rudeness and hostility being told: "you obviously are a better cook than me" (which actually is true) and being told that it would be a good idea for us not to come back!! My wife works in the food business was shocked by this aggressive response as we always thought that feedback like this could be useful. No wonder there was a lot of empty chairs!!

The place looks very inviting from the outside. The atmosphere was fine but the omlettes we ordered (served with a token side salad) were the smallest we'd ever seen! We went to another eatery after our visit so that my hubby could eat a bit more. He isn't greedy, is very slim but this (one egg?) omlette just isn't big enough!

We just wanted a coffee, oh ok then, maybe a piece of cake too. Everything about this place looked right; a quaint old building in the heart of the High Street, old timbers still bearing the meat hooks in the ceiling from a bygone existence, clusters of different seating options - lovely. The thing is, if you're running a coffee shop and your very name centres on the product, surely it's essential that you provide a qaulity cup of coffee? Whist we would never claim to be experts, we do enjoy our coffees and can certainly differentiate between a fragrant, smooth, tasty coffee and a bitter and tasteless one. Unfortunately, we received the latter and it is a very rare occurrence for either of us to leave our coffees unfinished, but we did here! I'm afraid the "locally made" carrot cake was no better. Come on guys, a little extra effort in the sourcing of your products, please - there is so much profit left in a cup of coffee, even when you pay a bit more for a quality bean.

We chose to eat lunch in an independent cafe yesterday, rather than one of the 'chains'. This turned out to be a big mistake. We had to clear a table to sit at. We were advised there would be a delay, but like the other reviewer, as it is a small cafe, expected this to be a short delay. On reflection, we should have clarified the length of delay before we ordered. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and spring onion topping and my husband ordered a panini with the same filling. Although there wasn't too long a wait for the drinks ( although they didn't have any diet soft drinks), there was approx 40 minute delay for the food, which at best was mediocre. There appeared to be no-one clearing tables and loads of washing up on the side near to one domestic washing up sink. We didn't see any table wiped during the time we were there. Very poor. I would not go there again even if offered a free meal!

Visited this cafe today,it is very small and not that clean especially the carpet. On ordering I was told there was a wait for food, that was ok ,it was only a small place so I thought maybe about 15 minutes.I ordered beans on toast and a bacon sandwich with two cups of tea.We had to clean our own table off as every available table had dirty crocks on.We waited twenty minutes before my husband went up and asked if we could have our tea, this was bought the lady apologised ,said food would be another 10 minutes,20 minutes later she came to the table to ask if I wanted white or brown toast,I was gobsmacked but she assured me it would be ready in two minutes, ten minutes later food arrived ,beans on toast and a cold bacon sandwich. My husband asked for some brown sauce and the young girl just slammed it down on the table.Everyone was having the same problem.I should have known when I saw the chaos behind the counter and the pile of dirty cups in the sink ,it was a bad idea to eat there.I had to laugh when the lady apologised to the next table for the delay ,apparently they didn't expect to be rushed off their feet, the place only holds about twenty people !!!!Never again !

My wife and I visited this restaurant today, after finding a seat we sat and waited for service but none arrived. My wife then went to enquire and found that you were expected to order at the bar, that is if you could divert the staff from their private conversations. After ordering you are then expected to pay in advance. They do not take any information from you as to where you are sitting and as consequence your meals do a circuit of the restaurant before finally arriving at your table. Not impressed, will not be visiting again there are too many better restaurants nearby.

Have bypassed this cafe lots of times in the because it looked a little tired, but went in today as it somehow looked much brighter. Went with a friend and her young grandson. The cafe was very welcoming inside and easily roomy enough for the pushchair. The staff helpfully provided a jug of water to heat the little ones food. The pan inis we ordered were lovely and came with salad accompaniment. The tea was served in a nice pot. The prices were good. We shall definitely return. As we left I noticed a sign outside stating 'under new management ' so perhaps that's why the cafe seemed more welcoming from outside. At any rate it's well worth a visit.

We visit Bridgenorth regularly and having never been into this cafe, went in there for lunch. Walked in the mature blond lady on the counter gave no welcome. Found seats, couches were far to low chin was level with table. Went to order with the same women who spoke to me like I was something she had scrapped off her shoe, if it hadn't been the fact that my insulin dependant mom needed to eat I would have left. Drinks slammed on table by same women, then sandwiches slammed down with the comment "sandwiches etc" in a voice which gave me frost burn. Food was fine, service was a sub zero 10!
