Food was amazing! Staff was knowledgeable about what items were gluten free. I have celiac and pretty sensitive to cross contamination and had no issues. Can’t wait to go back!

This is one of our favorite places. Every time we go we try to get something new, but always have to pick at least one old favorite (the mussels, scallops, and veal sweet breads). The filet, scallops, and scallops are always our favorite entrees. The pork is great, but I suggest to ask for a thicker cut as it seemed to be more moist. The wine list is also a chapter book and fun to look at.. and the desserts are spectacular. 10/10. Especially if you get to meet the owner who is a complete delights. I won’t even try to spell his name, but he is very French, and the most personable and hospitable and happy go lucky guy ever. If you happen to find him opening bottles of champagne via a knife, you’re in for dinner and a show! 10/10

I'm not easily impressed and the bar is pretty low sometimes in Kansas City. Everything was spectacular. The atmosphere is intimate and upscale but also relaxed like eating in someone's home. Every dish we had was special and well done. The wine recommendations were delicious, they fired each course at the perfect time and the service was great. They left us alone but also didn't miss a step. A hidden gem and a prime example of what more restaurants should aim for in an ever more corporate, burn and turn cafeteria style of alot of local restaurants. Great job.

This is our very favourite place to eat. I live in Newbiggin and we come here a couple of times a week because it's just such a lovely friendly cafe and the food is amazing. The scones are easily the best I have tasted and are cooked fresh every morning and I love the interesting fruit varieties with jam & cream. The tasty cheese on toast on nice bread with chutney is anougher of my favorites. On sunny days I choose the Mediterranean wrap with olives. My partner loves their cooked breakfast and he's a breakfast connoisseur and not easy to please. Whatever you choose the ingredients are high quality so the food tastes great. The setting lives up to its name as it's a lovely place to meet friends. There's seating in the garden, conservatory or inside the building and wherever we sit we love it. I have to mention the staff who are so lovely and friendly, particularly Angela who we think is great, she makes us feel welcome and makes us laugh with her unusual sense of humour. It's easily the best cafe for miles around.

Atmosphere rated low because of snooty French staff--remember you're in Parkville Missouri! Didn't like how we were treated, felt like they were rushing us out. Food was disappointing to many of us. Description on salad menu did not match what was served. Salad had goat cheese (which I dislike) instead of Blue cheese, salad dressing tasted like nothing but garlic juice, first time I have ever left a salad! Fish didn't have enough flavor. A very disappointing night at cafe Amis!

Took a friend for coffee and scones. I'd been before for lunch, very nice. But found scones quite dry and crispy right the way through. We have been ordering coffee and scones for the last 18 years around Northumberland when we meet up and if the scones aren't good, we don't return. I'll still go there for lunch, no problems there. Comfy, friendly cafe.

Reservations pretty much required. Quaint upscale French restaurant in Parkville. We went for lunch, but they were kind enough to let me order the Duck confit off the dinner menu. I'm allergic to red meat and this was as close to roast as I've had in years. My husband had the scallops and the sauce it comes in was delicious. HUGE selection of wine that comes with a book to give you lots of info about the region and wine itself. We were lucky to sit outside and it was absolutely perfect.

We were in town for a family event and stopped in here to get a bite before the event. I'm so glad we did. We didn't have a reservation and we were lucky to get a table. I would highly recommend a reservation on a weekend, it's worth the guarantee of a table. The food was amazing. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and presented beautifully. Their house wine selection was so good that we bought a few bottles to take to our hosts later that evening. The service team was impeccable. I've travel the country for work, and that was one of the best fine dining teams I've had. The prices were extremely reasonable, I've spent more at chain restaurants for food that wasnt close to equal. You won't regret making this restraunt your choice for an evening out.

The food and setting was 5 stars, and the service was spectacular. We went all out on the appetizers and desserts. Highly recommend the veal sweetbread with polenta, so tender and well seasoned. This place blew Le Fou Frog out of the water because they don’t season their food well. Also loved the burrata and heirloom tomato salad, it was a great dish to share. The escargot dish had a delicious garlicky bite to it so we loved it. The desserts were yummy too, and not overly sweet which was a bonus. The dining area in the back was very cute and romantic.

If I could give this place six stars for atmosphere, I would just for the ambiance on the patio. Nestled in the treetops with soft french music playing in the background, it's very relaxing. Food is traditional french, executed exceptionally well. Everything from their soups, mussels, quiche Lorraine and crepes, you can't go wrong. Do not skip dessert and don't plan to be in a rush. Take your time and enjoy a bottle of Louis Picamelot blanc de blanc, perfect on a hot summer day. If that's not your thing, they have a whole wine book to choose from. Enjoy!

I searched for creme brulee, and found an absolute treasure! In town for one night only and thought I'd look for a place with my wife's favorite dessert. Cafe des Amis popped up and showed great promise. Was a bit of a drive from far West KC, but definitely worth it. The best overall dining experience I have had in a very long time! Immediately welcomed with a huge smile and taken to our reserved patio table. Service was relaxed, but efficient when needed. Both the server and busser were very friendly and very knowledgeable. The wine list was an actual book with detailed descriptions of their very large selection. The menu was simple, in the best way, and we decided to go "all out" and order quite a few different things. Everything from the herbed butter right down to the mini macarons was incredible. Escargot, burrata salad, beef filet, lamb chops, soufflé, and of course creme brulee were all expertly prepared glorious tributes to culinary achievement. The beautiful setting and slight breeze just topped our date night. Make a reservation and treat yourself immediately! We are already talking about making a weekend getaway trip to come back.

The little French bistro is located at the top of wooden stairs on a corner with goof signage. It's quaint and lovely. The waitstaff is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the food and drinks, quick with good recommendations. The food and drinks were perfectly delicious and visually appealing. We received our check with a pleasant surprise, two delicious mini macrons, perfectly al dente. The only negative I can offer is the number of tables in the small room which made conversation difficult, distracting and loud instead of cozy. Perhaps some sound deafening decor would help.

Café de Amis in Parkville, MO, offers a culinary experience that's both elegant and inviting. Starting with the bone marrow salad, each bite was a symphony of flavors, perfectly balanced and exquisitely presented. Three of us arrived for lunch at 1 pm. The first thing the waiter said was that we should be sure to make our complete order all at once because the kitchen would be closing soon. Only when we tried to order did he say they were out of salmon. Two of us had wanted salmon. We decided to share the Salade Niçoise. I noticed the salmon wasn’t fully cooked. I asked if the salmon was sushi grade. The waiter said that’s how they prepare it- pink in the middle. Well, salmon is pink. I make it myself often. This was undercooked. We both asked for the fish to be more fully cooked. When the two portions came back to the table, I couldn’t tell if I received the same piece back, as it was in pieces and my portion had been one piece. I didn’t want to eat it. I ended up sharing the quiche my friend ordered as it was in two pieces. When we were ready to pay I asked if the restaurant was also out of green beans as there were none on the salad as they were supposed to be. The waiter came back and said the beans were cut up and on the salad. Well- two things. I know this salad is served with whole green beans and I know I didn’t see or eat any beans. Nor did my friend see or eat any on his half. At that point the waiter asked if I wanted to see the menu to verify ingredients. I felt insulted and chagrined that he doubled down to prove to me that I was wrong. I am sorry the restaurant has this waiter. He is not doing them any favors by not apologizing that the meal was less than satisfactory. The bottom line is not to go to this restaurant the day after a holiday - they won’t have the entrees they might need and don’t go at 1 pm when it is an hour from closing.

I had high expectation from the review. The atmosphere was amazing, perfect for a date night. The service was pretty slow and price were high, we were ok with this. The waitress didn't really come and check on us as much as we’d expect. They didn’t give us the breads until we asked and it was’t warm. The bread reminded me of italian bread with no flavor. Here is the review of the food. Pate with pickles were good. Mussels dish was quite bad. The broth was off and the muscle was overcooked and not fresh. Lamb was great. Soft and flavorful. The potato that came with the dish is terrific. Bouillabaisse was terrible. The broth was sour, lacks salt and seafood umami flavor that expects of this type of broth. Seafood were not flavorful. A big disappointment. Souffle. Good but not special Panna cotta. The texture was off. Overall, the foods were pretty standard to quite bad on some dish. French foods are much more flavorful and well prepared this. Pretty big disappointment. Total of my bill was $150 for two people and one glass of wine.

The coffees were overpriced, for my espresso style cappucino was £3.10 (no syrups or extra shots). The service was extremely slow and considering there was my wife and I and one other customer in the cafe plus five members of staff - no excuse for it either. Overall very disappointing. A gem of a café with lots of different, equally lovely, spaces to sit inside or outside with attractive decor around the indoor tables and beautiful plants around the outdoor seating. From the outside I expected it to be expensive but, whilst not cheap, it was no more expensive than most cafés these days and we had a really nice time when we stopped there for lunch. The food was good and the children's meal our kids ordered came in its own little wicker hamper which the children found delightful. The staff were friendly, patient and helpful and took the time to have a chat with us and our kids on our way out and gave us lots of recommendations of places to go on our holiday. I was sad that we didn't make it back later in the week because I'd spotted some very yummy looking cheese scones on the way out and having missed the soup and scone deal on this occasion as whatever the soup of the day had been it was evidently very tempting because by the time we arrived there was none left, I was keen to pop back in for a soup and scone lunch. Fortunately we all enjoyed our stay in Morpeth so hopefully we will visit again and can return to this charming café.

We liked the atmosphere. The service was adequate. I had the goat cheese salad- the cheese and crostinis were very good, the jam was nonexistent and I found the dressing on the field greens bitter. The lamb was very good, but the vegetables extremely disappointing. The potatoes were good but very small portion size- about 3 bites, and they were a bit cold. Other than that was one small slice of tomato, 2 almost raw stalks of asparagus and cabbage which was an odd choice for late May, and extremely over salted. My husband had the asparagus soup and it was fibrous and not very good. He also had the rabbit which was a bit tough and also very skimpy on vegetables/sides. The soufflé was good, but again the ice cream served with it was about the size of a walnut. We still enjoyed our night together, but when paying over $100 for a nice meal- no drinks- we expected better. We wouldn’t go back based on our experience tonight.

Amazing food and service. Such a unique gem. Perfect for a date night, catching up with friends and family and pretty much any other occasion where you would appreciate wonderful food and great service. Menu is clear and concise with options to satisfy anyone. Everything we ordered tasted perfect. And the dessert… oh my. They had strawberry rhubarb sorbet as a special and it was superb. Not to mention that we came in late on a Tuesday night with 2 small hungry kids looking for dinner as everything else was closed and we were taken care of and felt welcome. If you want to break away from your usual chain restaurants and are looking for something special and inspiring, I highly recommend checking out Cafe Des Amis.

I live in Brookside and I haven’t been to a restaurant with better service than this. The cost is more than reasonable as well; I was expecting a $100 meal just simply based on our service and ambience. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. I am so excited to come back and will recommend to everyone!

I visited the cafe as a competitor in the Cheviot Goat ultra marathon, and they do an incredible job for looking after all the runners and event staff. The soup after 55 miles of moorland tastes like the best thing ever. A lovely location, with lovely people.

Popped in here on a hot day for some ice-cream, they were sold out of a few flavours as it was a busy day so I didn't get my first choice, but the toffee popcorn ice-cream was amazing! Friendly staff and not a bad price for what you get.

Stopped here a couple of times for breakfasts and take away cake. Larger than expected inside and the tables have lots of space between them which is a welcome change. Service is friendly and the food arrived quickly. All the food we've eaten in fresh has been really tasty, there's a good variety too. Unfortunately we have been disappointed with the cake which is often dry, as if it is a few days old.
