We were really excited to come and try it today and they were supposed to be open until 10pm according to their website but they were closed :( seems like they're undergoing renovations

I was given an afternoon tea for two from my daughter .. for Mother’s Day and unfortunately due to a serious illness … I did not use my voucher in time … I thought that Cafe Delhi would do the honourable thing and honour my voucher especially as I wanted to take my whole family as well ..so I would have purchased al it more vouchers … but I was very disappointed and dissatisfied that they firstly didn’t think my daughter had paid for it and then secondly once I had sent the receipt to show she had paid !! They still did not honour it … that have lost my custom and all my friends and family too .. it’s a shame because I was a regular there

Service and atmosphere was great but food was not so great especially the rates they charged. They really need to work on their recipes especially when they are trying to keep the Delhi name.. Delhi is the main hub of the most great food in the world!!!

We had the Afternoon High Tea. A really well thought out afternoon high tea with traditional Indian accompaniments. The paneer wrap made with fresh naan bread was exceptional. It was so delicious you could quite easily eat couple of them. The chai (tea) masala, karak or other traditional Indian teas were beautifully made full of flavour nicely balanced with spice and sweetness. The service was very good staff who made sure they paid attention to any tea refills required etc. Everything is enjoyable about the high tea the way it is presented the skill of the chef's in making such delightful enjoyable food full of flavour. If you want an afternoon high tea at a very reasonable price then look no further than Cafe Delhi. Thank you for a great experience.

Food was very nice and the staff were super helpful. I sometimes end up getting stuck in repeat food orders so asked for some recommendations, they didn't let me down. The mushrooms were awesome. Aloo tikki chat was a joint favourite with the chilli paneer. Nice ginger chai to go with it Kids loved the butter chicken marsala and Hakka noodles Some friends had the Thali which looked amazing and they were very happy with it

Such a lovely place at the heart of the Golden Mile. Food is always lovely and the environment is charming for eaten or just having a tea. I just can't wait to try the tandoori lamb chops again.

Thought we would give this place a try. Menu looked good but food and service very disappointing. Paneer tikka wrap tastes sweet, one small raas malai given and samosa chaat was not nice. I would not go back. Save your gut and finances from misery.

I have visited Cafe Delhi on quite a few occasions lately and it’s always been an enjoyable experience. The food and the service have been fantastic. One of my top picks for Indian food in Leicester.

We hosted our daughters birthday at the restaurant. From start to finish the service and communication was on point and organised the celebration with ease. I can not express enough how Wilton and his team went above and beyond all expectations. They made sure the whole event went smoothly, every guest was attended to and still took the time to make sure we had eaten. Excellent service!!! The food…. Wow! Every single guest enjoyed the food start to finish. We had choose The Royal Thali, every dish was delicious and the spice level was perfect. My personal favourite is the Gol Guppe, purely the way they are presented. Finished off with a mixture of their teas from elichi to the Kashmiri pink tea. Everyone left the restaurant stuffed and happy! Thank you to the entire Cafe Delhi team for making our daughter 1st birthday soo special 🙏🏽♥️

Nice quiet restaurant with good cocktails and overall pretty good food although not quite as good as last time our friends went. Golgappas were great and generous but lamb biriyani was a bit below par. Was it a good experience - yes it was . Would I go back probably not in a hurry as there is so much else to try.

We love Indian food, and this was hands down one of the best Thalis I'd ever had! Food was amazing. Chai was superb. Lovely little restaurant. Very much recommend.

Highly recommend this spot. Had afternoon tea along with other mains and starters. My favourite was the vada pav, chicken wrap and the kheer. The only complaint was that the masala chai was fairly bland and a little watery. However the food made up for it.

I went there when they just opened on Tuesday and the high chai was very recommended, I wasn't aware that this needed to be pre ordered a d explained this to the waiter, the waiter and kitchen staff accommodated this for me and were extremely friendly, the food didn't exceed my high expectations but this may be because I didn't pre order, due to how lovely the waiter was I will 100% recommended this establishment

Great food, great décor and really helpful staff who was knowledgeable on what's good to get. Butter chicken beats my own homemade one dare I say! Falooda is just 👌🏽. Whatever you pick you know it'll be good here.

When this place opened I did go & I was disappointed at the time. However i thought I would go after such a long time and the food has been superb!! Each dish has it's own unique taste rather than the same sauces used, as a lot of places do. A young man by the name of Welton served us and he is very polite and helpful. Keep up the quality of food and good service!!

Was across the road from this place. My 5 year old needed the toilet. I called and asked if they would be kind enough to let him use their toilet and explained I have a newborn baby so it’s going to be hard for me to go up and down melton road trying to find a toilet. They still refused to let him use it. I know this is not about the food or the service but I refuse to go into places where the staff or owners are incapable of showing kindness to others. Would never set foot in the place. Not even for a p***!

We love Cafe Delhi. We discovered it after we moved to Leicester a year ago, and now we bring everyone who visits us to Cafe Delhi to eat. We've been about a dozen times and tried most of the menu, and we have never been disappointed - such a consistent experience. The chef is talented and is able to adjust spice levels to anyone's taste. This has helped us to tweak each dish to a level of spice we can handle, and has allowed us to share the Indian food experience with others who have even lower levels of spice tolerance than we do. The servers are polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. Welton in particular has given us a warm welcome. We were charmed from our first visit, and we've had a handful of different servers who have been consistently lovely. We find the prices really accessible and good value. For a lighter dinner we ordered 2 curries, 1 rice and 1 naan to share between 3 people, and when we've been hungrier we've upped that to 3 curries and 2 rices. Between £8-12 per person is a reasonable amount to aim for, which is not bad at all. The gulab jamun and ras malai on the dessert menu are also delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

I was in town visiting family and they chose to take me to this place as it is one of their favorite restaurants in the city. I had never really had Indian food before and have a low spice tolerance. I was absolutely blown away by the food and by the willingness of the restaurant to accommodate us. I had asked if the dishes could be made much less spicy than normal and when they came out they were very mild but yet still full of flavor. The food was incredibly yummy and the servers were very kind and the restaurant was clean and very pretty. Overall an excellent experience.

Funky place with good atmosphere and friendly staff. We ordered veg and non veg dishes. We enjoyed the veg dishes more. The meat sizzler dishes although tasty some elements were a bit tough. The paneer wrap, dosa, and daal puri were great. I've never had that combination of prawn and puri which was quite tasty. I would recommend a visit.

Not as good as when came in few weeks ago. Bhindi frys over cooked, paneer was tasteless and just oily. Normally very good, decor beautiful as always. Hope things dont continue south as Leicester are running out of decent quality places.

Indian restaurant with a twist. The waiter advised us to try several items that we’d not had before and they were really good. He suggested next time we let him choose everything for us and we’d definitely be up for it. Definitely recommend giving it a go👍

We are a regular to cafe delhi. This time we took our mother's for afternoon tea. The choice was nice however service was poor due to them being very busy they couldn't keep up with customers. Tea was cold and we asked for refill and it remained cold. It took 15min for a refill to come and also table water took ages as well. The food taste is normally really good however on this occasion it was mediocre. They had a dj and it was quite loud to talk to each other.

On a work night out had a really good time food lovely and service great 👍

This is a great place with Gluten Free and Vegan options. Good customer service and consistent flavours.

Have been going to Cafe Delhi for really long they are the best on Melton Road with their food and service, but in recent times I have been noticing that just two waiters are running here and there like headless chicken may be Cafe Delhi management is no more interested in service.... It's really disappointing to see this

Came here with my family and some friends as well, was a lovely restaurant. We started off with some samosa chaat, which was delicious. Then we had some chilli chicken and chicken tikka on naan. It was good, spice levels were good too. My newborn also came with us and the restaurant was child friendly. Toilets were clean as well. Our servers were Himanshu and Welton, they were very helpful and kind. Overall, I'm very impressed by this restaurant and will definitely come again.

Very expensive and food was not good at all

A unique menu with an excellent selection of dishes. Service was satisfactory and whilst the majority of the food was delicious (the tarka daal was exceptional) some of the dishes required more seasoning, namely the samosa chaat and the daal makhani. Everything else from the mix platter to the tandoori roti did not disappoint. Would recommend a visit if you happen to be in the area. Just beware this place does no serve alcohol. Also a very important note that this place does their masala tea WITHOUT sugar, a rarity!! And don't worry about over ordering, they'll slap the leftovers in containers for breakfast the next day.

First and foremost, I’ve been a regular at Cafe Delhi for sometime, and overall enjoyed the food. However, the quality has slowly deteriorated overtime. I’m not sure if it’s different chefs or if they’re under pressure, but a lot of the breads seem to come overly burnt / charred. I understand some charring is inevitable when cooking on high heat, but it’s now getting ridiculous. Not the type of burn I expect when eating Indian food. In our most recent order, we got the “Sarson ka Saag”. In the past this tasted great, but recently it’s become hit and miss (more miss). There’s way too much salt / masala for it to be palatable. It didn’t taste good at all. It also looked like it was something reheated out of a freezer. I understand not everything is cooked fresh on the day, but this truly tasted bad. On most occasions we order the “Tarka Daal”, but even this was amiss this time round. Again, it seemed like one of the chefs had been trigger happy with the masala. Overall, I’d suggest Cafe Delhi need to go back to basics. Aim to make food that fresh, lightly seasoned and homely. Maybe adding non-veg dishes has overwhelmed the kitchen and removing them might help? I’m not sure, but something has to change. Just ask one question before serving anything - would I be happy serving this to my family?

Wow, I was recommended this by a customer at my workplace and was very impressed. The staff were attentive, the speed the food arrived was really good and when it arrived it was piping hot and so so tasty. We will definitely back.

The pakoda kadhi served here is one of the best. There are other items that are great as well - aam Panna drink, cheese kulcha, tarka daal + rice 🍚 Great service, amazing ambience and nice people.

I recently went Cafe Delhi (again). Their food and service is fantastic. Such a lovely chilled atmosphere. The menu has so much variety from snacks to full course meals. Masala chai is a must for me here!

We celebrated a birthday tonight at Cafe Delhi and we had a great time. Food was super tasty (as usual) however the service was fantastic, especially as we had a family member with an air borne dairy allergy. The team made every effort to keep him safe and we all had a fantastic time. Very thankful to them all as they made the day memorable. Will be back again soon.
