I have been ordering food from here for a while now always been so tasty, but for some reason this time it was disappointing, it had too much onion's in it hardly any cauliflower and potatoes in it, hence the name alloo Gobi very disappointing and the tarka daal wasn't as tasty as before hope if ordering again food will be tasty and spicy as before .

Very rude staff. If you gave order by phone 30 mins before, still didn't prepare when we went there.

After having dinner at nearby Mohanthal we walked to this place to satisfy craving for some Indian sweets. Staff busy chatting amongst themselves and finally when they attended to us, I just asked for 100gms of Kaju kalti and 100gms of angoori rasagullas. The lady said 100gms of rasagullas will only give 2 balls and I said that how much my daughter wants. When she eventually measured it it turned out to be a substantial quantity of almost 10-12 balls. When you selling by weight and don’t have a minimum restriction, why worry about how much the customer wants to order. Anyway she was kind enough to provide only the pink coloured rasagullas that my daughter wanted. So thanks to her for catering to the demand.

Absolutely bad experience, ordered gobi prantha and chole bhature.To be honest bost pranatha and bahthure were stale and immediately after eating I started to have burps and indigestion . And top of that I am pretty much sure the oil being used for frying would have been of very low quality. Respected owner if you guys are making money out of us pleae maintain a decent quality, at least serve fresh and use good quality oil for deep frying please stop palying with our health.

We had samosas chat and it was really nice and tea....

On our visit to Leicester my friend brought us here as I wanted to try authentic tasting food from Punjab. It was not a disappointment. We enjoyed the dishes that we tried. My friend always gets take from here too. It’s definitely worth trying. She did take away the Aubergine Bhurta. It was delicious.

Excellent food and good value. Samosa chaat also paratha saag makai roti karela bhindi mango lassi were all delicious home cooked style. We travel from Nottingham to just eat there and get a large take away. Staff are lovely too.

Everything is like home made but I ate radish paratha, paneer paratha and aloo paratha here but there was no masala in them, it was very simple, I need to pay a little attention to the spices🙏

Came for alloo paronthas and tea. Took over 30 minutes for the tea to come even after prompting the staff Only two other people being served at the time Very poor service

I just wanted bhatura.Served with a smile.I live about 7 miles from shop and when I got home the bhaturas were stil warm and tasted nice.It was freshly made and not microwaved junk. Thank you,made my day.

My son bought Almond Burfi from them we serve some pieces to guests they was not able to this stuff coz it’s stuck in food pipes need to drink something to it’s goes down it’s very dangerous for kids. It’s can coz of fatal. They don’t want to take back this rubbish material.shop incharge lady was so rude I was there on 2/01/2024 . I don’t recommend this shop

Some chaat is very delicious but the person who takes order in evening time is very rude.

If looks were ever deceiving! This looks like a small shop, nothing spectacular but oh my life the food is beyond amazing! The staff are polite and helpful, the food is very reasonable in price and I have never had anything as tasty as they provide. Never disappointed.

Phoned ahead to check they had stock and made a special journey. When we got there they didn't have any stock of what we wanted. They accepted our order for some other dish then told us 10 minutes later they were out

Very poor customer service .no organization towards food serving

Ordered catering for a family event for the first time from here. Everything was warm, ready on time, packaged securely to avoid spillages...they even helped me put all items in the car! Food was delicious, I would definitely order again. The paneer spring rolls were fabulous, crispy on the outside and plenty of filling. Thankyou 🙏

I ordered the catering for my daughters 21st birthday party. Food was great, piping hot and of good quality. I will definitely order from here again

Very poor customer service. They don't properly deal with customers. I once walked in at 5.30 and got asked to leave as they don't take orders assuming I wanted to order something from the kitchen when I wanted to buy something else. Not happy at all.

Best Punjabi samosa's in Leicester 👌🏼

We had ordered couple of lunch food items, all were freshly made, great in taste, service of the outlet in serving is awesome..value for money.

Ordered Golgappe which are expensive and come with world's smallest pot so had to eat dry gokgappe without water. Asked for more and was told this is what you get. Had takeaway samosas and found these full of corn in filling 🙄

Loved the food!, aloo prothey and chana bhatura. Much better to have it when it is freshly made ready to eat there and then. Very cold in the restaurant and cold water only to wash your hands after. Did not see any toilets that were accessible.

Wrong information and prices in restaurant, Catherine St, Leicester. Out of date information on Web. Staff friendly, food services ok. Needs to be accurate on prices if still would like to keep trading license as local authorities would be concerned about fraudulent activities. Thanks

I have booked my daughter's catering from here and will also book my son's wedding catering As the food is of very high standard and extremely delicious

I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. I placed an order at 4.30pm and asked for it to be ready for collection at 6pm. The order wasn't big, just food for 8 people for an occasion. I arrived to collect the food at 6pm prompt. I was told that it was still being prepared and that it would be ready in 5 minutes. Five minutes came and went, then 10, then 20. The food eventually was ready at 6.45pm - 45 minutes late, what a joke! They clearly hadn't prepared the food, even though I had pre ordered. They only started cooking it when I arrived. The girl at the counter thought this was funny and refused to do anything about it. I asked to speak with the manager and they were not helpful. Eventually they agreed to take some money off the bill, however this wasn't the point, I wanted the food ready on time. I won't ever be returning and I'm sure with this level of poor service the business will fail. Avoid yourself the hassle and order from elsewhere.

Staff and owner of Apna Punjab very polite and friendly. The punjabi samosas are to die for. Will be returning to try other food from their extensive menu.

2 of the dishes (curries) Dal Makhani & Shahi Paneer was bland. Waste of money there was about 4 pieces paneer cubes in the curry. The Saag was tasty would recommend and have again but the Makhi roti was very oily & chewy. Iv never seen a fried roti looked like a paratha before. Service is very slow I stood waiting for about 10mins, another customer who came in after me started speaking in punjabi to the lady behind counter who was served before me then she realised I was waiting so asked if I'd been served. I was told it will take 15, 20mins for food, took 35mins so i thought as it is being freshly prepped the food will be great but was a disappointment. There is far bigger food and serbice from other punjabi restaurants in the area.

Never go here again poor customer service oder food twice they give me time for 30 mintues when reached there they said you oder in wrong place special the girl in front speak rude even I show her my phone but one of gujrati girl is fine

Excellent home like food, full of taste

This place used to have the best samosas at one point and then the management changed and it looks like it's gone downwards. The samosas have been reduced in size by 30% and are not very tasty at all. I also ordered paneer spring rolls, which hardly had any filling, it's like they've spread the mix like butter all you get is pastry, will not be ordering from here again.

It used to be very nice. Have been regular customer for many years. The quality of sweets have been degraded recently while prices increased. They have changed the face of scale so customers can no longer see how much they are weighing. The 500g sweet box only had 400g in it. When opened the box at home, it looked very empty. Everything is acceptable but dishonesty. Never going back again.

Ordered a take away from here and was told to pick up in 20 minutes, arrived in 20 minutes and was rudly told to wait an additional 5 minutes. Waited a further 10 minutes with no contact from the assistant in the shop. Food was acceptable but the service was appalling. Not sure if I'll order from here again.

I ordered through deliveroo, when our paratha came 2 of them had long hairs in the potato mix, was completely horrified and disgusted. Will never be ordering from there again.

They make the best mix pakoda, never been disappointed. My family and work colleagues love their mix pakodas.

Lovely always good home cooking

This place is really nice! The food is so good too..we ordered the curries which come with rotis - which is very reasonable for the price they charge. The make it fresh to order which I loved! This is also why it probably took a little longer than the time they advised for collection. Service is a little slow but I wouldn’t knock off a star because the food was worth the wait!

Great place to go to for some amazing traditional Punjabi food! The service was on point and staff were friendly. Food service was also quite fast but i do recommend to ring first as this place gets very busy. Highly Recommend!

The best punjabi food in leicester for the price.

Been using for many years now. Appears there has been a change in ownership, new staff and or new Chef. Past couple of times order has been incorrect. On the last visit the order was agian wrong but more worryingly the food was very poor. Aloo Parothas mainly made of roti very little mixture, samosas soggy and very oily and little mixture, samosa chutney was very watery, Aloo gobi raw potatoes and Jalebis were stale. Very disappointing. Hay ho back to St Saviours Road we go..

Having been here for many years, as an eat in & take away customer, I shall never visit again. Order's are always incorrect & lack of the English language makes it almost impossible to order a dish.

Tried vegetable mix pakodas( onion bhajis) and were excellent test and were freshly made and to eat when they are fried hot , tests very nice.

Visited this place for the first time and I can say I will not return again. Placed our order to takeaway and was told it will take 20mins. 45mins in and I go to ask if its ready and they are still waiting on part of my order. Finally after waiting 1hr 15mins,received our order which was set on the work surface at the back of the counter all along. Because of the delay got home and found all our food was Luke warm and to top it up they short changed us on 2 chapatis which we paid for.Now some might think we must have ordered a lot of food hence the wait or they were really busy!! It's not the waiting time it's the fact when you place your order they say 20mins instead of being honest and saying its an hrs wait. That way you the customer decide whether you want to wait that long. Food was also average so not worth the wait.For us first impressions count and this place did not impress.

First time today went and bought samoas, they were very tasty.

Mediocre samosas unfortunately. Bought alot for work colleagues and sadly they were oily, too thick and the Filling was sadly lacking in taste.

when I went on my last visit was giving the wrong portion size which I paid medium for and still gave me small. Manager didnt seem too bothered telling me ' I'm the manager i know what is the right size ' yet he had to look at his own restaurant leaflet to check prices of what to charge me. Chips were burnt and paneer was dry. Explained on the phone specifically what my order was more then 3 times and there still was problems. Communication is rubbish Was given plastic cutlery didnt end up using it as it had dust on it like it was sat for ages. Wasnt a good experience for me.
