When the food arrived (Panini’s and sandwich’s) it was fine. However we had to ask for the table to be cleared and when served the staff walked past three tables groaning with empty dishes. We saw at least four groups look in and walk off, all the time staff inside were chatting. With a little bit of direction this could be a nice place for a light lunch

I'm not sure where to start. I am only writing this to save people their money and manage their expectations. We ordered standard items off the all day breakfast menu, 40 minutes later it arrived. It can only be described as inedible. I won't go through everything that was wrong, I will just focus on the worst of the bad bits. The eggs had never been anywhere near a chicken from what I could tell. They were tasteless, cold and sloppy (scrambled is the only option so you'd expect them to get them right!). The mushroom weren't warm they were stone cold, unfortunately inedible. The haggis was the oddest colour and 'crispy', maybe pre-cooked and kept warm. We actually queried if it even was haggis. The breakfast burrito was 'challenging' it would actually be cruel to describe it accurately. There was clearly an issue in the kitchen, we watched as other tables sent food back, complained about not getting orders, it would have been funny if we hadn't paid £50+ for and left hungry because it really was inedible. As we were leaving we were offered 1 peice of millionaire shortbread for the time we waited, there were three of us! Needless to say we will not be going back.

Staying a week in Inverness. We always seek out a good breakfast café and visit several times. Spotted this café yesterday, and returned this morning. All looked clean, we sat outside the main café. Ordered 2 Scottish breakfasts at £12.50 each, so not cheap in my view. Took quite a while to arrive, but that normally means things are fresh and hot. Nope! Where do I start? We'd specifically asked for no haggis. Sorry Scotland, but we don't like it! Breakfast arrived with haggis. OK, push it aside. Beans virtually cold, as was the scrambled egg. Bacon had been kept warm so long it was dried out, crunchy and inedible. Sausages hard, tough and not browned on the outside, so very unattractive. The worst bit was the potato cake - burnt on one side, curled up and so dry it crunched. My husband took his back and tapped it on the counter, asking for replacements. They did arrive, eventually. The only good part was fresh hot toast, though the 2 pats of butter were served underneath the toast and on top of the haggis. Both had melted and leaked all over the haggis. Could you possibly get a breakfast any more wrong? Frankly, we should have sent it back and asked for our money back. Sometimes it's just easier to leave it, walk away and not come back. Definitely NOT recommended!

The food was tasty and well presented but I thought it was expensive for how small the portions were. I loved the little gift corner at the back and I thought that was a really nice touch to the Cafe. Unfortunately the cafe was freezing and when we asked if we could get the heating turned up the staff struggled so we ate in coldness.

The food is lovely and cannot very tasty, but I have ordered via Just Eat twice over 2 weeks and by the time the food arrives its cold and not always the correct stuff. Its a shame cos the food is lovely and the one at the Midmills College is good too. Its just the delivery company you use is letting you down.

My daughter and I had breakfast on a Wednesday morning at Café de Paulo. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming, the menu has a good variety and the food is a very good quality. I especially like their vegetarian options on the breakfast menu. Price wise it’s very acceptable. Full Cooked Breakfast is between £10.75 and £12.75 - Veggie is £9.95 and £11.95. Good alternatives with pancakes and smoked salmon, plus a breakfast burrito! Thoroughly recommend.

I have never done a review before but come on Cafe d Paulo. I had Cullen skink and scone, the skink was poorest l have ever had in many a restaurant. Warm watery milk with a little veg and little fish. A small dish made it overpriced. Scone was not worth a mention l will not be returning.

We stopped here for lunch but never again. There was no gluten free bread or rolls so my choice was very limited as no baked potato either. We chose the Cullen skunk which we have had in many places but this was nothing like Cullen skink. Just a bowl of warm milk with leeks and two pieces of fish. I couldn't eat it. We decided not to have tea or coffee which was just as well as two soups were £17 !!!!!

I had the unfortunate experience of eating here with my parents and daughter. 4 cakes and 4 drinks at us back over £25!!!!! The HOT chocolate was far from hot, the iced latte tasted awful and the brownies were not great either. My dad and I used the toilets after we had eaten and were appalled at how disgusting they were, making us regret having consumed anything made on that premises. Having used the facilities we asked when last they had been cleaned and were told they had been cleaned the day before - this was now after 2pm!! None of the staff seemed to be bothered, with one dismissing the lack of cleanliness and saying it had been a busy Saturday!!! I don't believe the toilet had been cleaned the day before or even the week before - there was dust on top of the cistern, the floor didn't look as though it had been cleaned for months as the dirt was ingrained, the walls were grubby, the toilet seat had yellow and brown stains on it and there was a toilet brush which could've crawled out of the place. I covered my hand in toilet roll to flush the toilet then washed my hands - only just managing to squeeze some liquid soap out of the practically empty bottle. My dad used the disabled toilet which was exactly the same. My mum found the same in the toilet I had used. She was unable to flush the toilet as it wouldn't work. I spoke again to the staff about how disgusting the toilets were and was told that the toilet had not been flushed so that's why it gets dirty when people do that!!!! This caused me even greater concern that the staff didn't seem to see how it wasn't just the actual toilet bowl that was the problem but the entire toilet rooms. I shared my concern that if staff are using these toilets it i is worrying to think about the standard of hygiene in their food preparation - especially if they didn't see a problem with the cleanliness in the toilets!!! We will never be back to this awful place and would warn others to avoid at all costs.

Dreadful food. After waiting for more than 40 minutes our inedible burgers arrived. Mine had 2 pieces of lettuce and a dry patty that was inedible until I added barbecue sauce. By the time the sauce arrived it was cold so even less pleasant. My husband's burger had bacon that was so hard he couldn't cut it. And the same patty. I gave an honest answer when asked about my meal and suggested they needed a new cook. It was the worst meal I have eaten in years. I'm told it used to be good. Avoid it at all costs.
