Lovely passionate couple. We went due to TripAdvisor reviews. Amazing breakfast and drinks. Bideford independents need all the support from tourists and locals. They are doing great and hope they succed.

Our car sat nav took us on a wrong turn. We came across a beautiful small place and decided to have something to eat and drink. It’s was the best wrong turn I have ever taken. The staff were so friendly and the food was out of this world. Definitely going back again. ❤️❤️❤️

Wow! What a little gem! Beautiful little cafe with a very friendly ambience! I had the melting pot and it was soooo good! The lady that served me was very friendly and I really felt welcomed! This is the best cafe I have tried in Bideford and I will definitely be back! It is half way up the High St on the corner on the left hand side, just a little bit further up than Poundstretchers. Really fresh, home made food, good quality and very reasonably priced! Highly recommended!

My second visit was even better than my memory of the first. I would not come to this part of the country without having breakfast here. The bacon was perfectly cut and beautifully cooked. Lovely sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes. ‘Nikita the greeter’ dog welcomed us like she remembered us. Super friendly greeting excellent food. Highly recommended.

Chose this place for its trip advisor rating and found out why it gets 5 out of 5. Perfect coffee, delicious cakes and excellent service, so it’s another 5 out of 5 from me. ☺️👌🏼

Hidden Gem in Bideford Town Centre, half-way up the hill between Shops & Pannier Market. Have visited several times whilst visiting the Town. Fresh local Devon produce used, for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch or just a sliver of Cake. Thick Gammon slice & Chutney sandwich on the thickest slice of Malted Granary ever. You 'could' miss the location as it's not on the High Street, but you'd be missing the best food in the Town and for very little cost, in comparison to the competition. Nikita is always around for a fuss, too.

Cracking little eatery. We have been 3 times over three years (whilst holidaying in the area); every time the food and service have been amazing. All the ingredients are locally sourced, supporting farmers and other small businesses within the North Devon area and reducing the transport emissions impact. The quality of the meals and the warmth of the staff, especially Nikita 😀, (make a visit if you'd like to meet her 🐕), make this a lovely place to stop off and eat and will keep us coming back.

Popped in here whilst waiting 4 an appointment at Bideford Hospital. Nice welcome by the lovely Labrador & very pleasant owner. Only a couple of tables on the lower level with a few more above. (There may have been another level.) Nice ambience & decoration. Everyone in there seemed to know each other which made 4 a very nice atmosphere. Ordered a couple of Chai Lattes & 1 bacon & egg sandwich. Full marks 4 the Lattes, the best in Bideford. Unfortunately the bacon was too thick 4 my daughters taste, quite fatty & too lightly cooked. The egg was lovely & fresh & the white bread super soft. She managed to eat a tiny bit of it but took it home (4 the doggies I’m afraid) Don’t think the helping of crisps on the side does anything to enhance the breakfast sandwich as either. I would definitely come back 4 the fab Chai’s.

Went with my partner and brother in law and was warmly greeted by Nikita, the resident dog and meeter-greeter of Cafe Collective. Was sat down quickly, and Nikita sat with us to make us feel very welcome. Orders taken and drinks and food all arrived promptly. Decor lovely- lots of paintings done by the owners family. Warm atmosphere. Friendly staff. Had the cheese melting pot which was simply stunning, and both my partner who had the chicken salad, and her brother who had the trio of sausages both thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Was able to give nikita some dog treats at the end of the meal, which the owners provided. Definitely recommend giving it a visit and will be back any time we visit Bideford.

We went to cafe collective for lunch the other day. When we got there we were greeted by Nikita. The food was delicious, service was excellent and we were made to feel welcome there. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to return.

Wow! Cannot believe how amazing both the staff and food is at Cafe Collective. With a recent diagnosis of coeliac disease it has been so difficult to find gluten free meals when eating out. The lady at cafe collective was so understanding and went above and beyond to explain all the dishes to me. I opted for the gluten free pitta with cheese, the burger (the best burger I’ve ever had), chips and salad. This is the best gluten free meal I’ve had and the first time eating out that I wasn’t made to feel awkward because of my dietary requirements. The menu is geared towards those who have allergies/dietary needs and the choice is outstanding. They even supplied me with gluten free dressing for my salad. The lady who served us explained how all their dishes are made in house, they have sourced only the best, local burgers and sausages and they go above and beyond to avoid any cross contamination. She also gave me lots of useful advice and several tips which, being a newly diagnosed coeliac, was invaluable. It’s the first time (since going gluten free) that I haven’t felt like I’ve missed out when eating out. Cafe collective is truly amazing - the food is incredible, the staff so warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. We took some gluten free apple and cinnamon cake to take away and that was so delicious! 😋 I’ll definitely be back, I only wish I lived nearer!! It’s definitely 5 stars (& more!) from me!

Love this little place on the High Street! Have been here once before for coffee and wanted to come back. Was well worth the repeat visit for lunch. We had three different melts all imaginatively created by Paul and all delicious. What’s more it was lovely to be somewhere where it was obvious that staff genuinely cared about every customer.

What a wonderful find! This is a fantastic family run business. Such a lovely welcome, and also by beautiful Nikita the dog! This a small friendly & family run restaurant.We ate lunch here for the first time today. We were greeted by the family Labrador Nikita that melted our hearts. Everything at Cafe Collective is super clean from table tops , menus etc The food was truly tasty had a Turkey Melting Pot with chips totally yummy. Good value. Will be our regular pit stop in Bideford for lunch.

Lovely greeting at the door, shown to a table were we could look out the window and appreciate the Christmassy interior. Lovely chat and chai latte with beautifully warm cream tea scones.

I've been here about four times since the new owners took over around Coivd19-era - mostly because the food and drink is good. But this and the lovely dog aside (what a sweety), I have to take issue with something. Every time I try to order a small coffee or tea the owner gives me the same spiel - almost word for word about how a larger cup would be better - it's really really really really tedious to sit through. Can I make a suggestion? Why not offer one size instead of giving those of us who want a small one your speech. I think it's been a year since my last visit (because I can't face having the same one-sided conversation) and the same happened last time, and the time before. I went inside CC for a catch-up with a friend and we only had a short time to talk before we had to rush off - I spent too much time engaging in these unnecessary shenanigans - I just wanted a coffee! Then the owner said it was hardly worth her bother serving us, I suspected she was joking, but then on exit she moaned about how much it costs to process cards even though our bill was over the minimum. In a town full of cafes, I'm hardly stuck for choice. I really miss the old owners Kazz and Tess. I was in there all the time when they were running Cafe Collective, and I had no probs, I even left a five star review here and in other places . Saying all this, the food and drink was nice, but I won't be back. There's certainly friendlier cafes in town - there's about 50 others to choose from.

We had a lovely time here, food was great, atmosphere was great and their dog Nikita really made our day. Really good coffee too. We will be back!

We stopped by for lunch when we saw the signs outside advertising gluten free and dog friendly. We had a great experience, the food was freshly cooked and delicious (with 95% gf) Nikita the greeter dog was lovely Would 100% recommend

A chance stop in Bideford saw us eating breakfast at this delightful little cafe. Everything about it was perfect, our dog was welcomed as much as us, the food was delicious and portion sizes just right, the dedication to making the perfect cuppa was commendable and the homemade cakes we bought to take away were gorgeous. We were greeted and served by the owner, a really warm and friendly lady who only took over the cafe a week before covid struck so has done amazingly well to still be here. There were clearly regulars in who were greeted like old friends but even as tourists we were made to feel really welcome. We even had instructions from the chef on heating our homemade scone when we got home to make sure it tasted, and the texture was, it’s absolute best. Would 100% recommend the Cafe Collective and will definitely go back.

Paul’s pots were excellent and the staff was great and even did an off the menu for our grandson, a big chunky sausage sandwich.

Food was delicious, great customer service and all of the staff were very kind. The chocolate milkshake is excellent. I really recommend it.

I chose this cafe based on previous reviews and the fact that it is very dog friendly. The daily special was sold out but the owner recommended a pulled pork cheese melt as an alternative. It was delicious. The owner and staff were very attentive and friendly. My dog, Lola, and I hope to return soon.

As strangers in town we didn't know where to look for a decent breakfast, and came across this lovely cafe. On entering we couldn't have had a warmer welcome from the owner and were looked after brilliantly throughout our visit. Breakfast itself was freshly cooked, locally sourced, and absolutely delicious. Would recommend to anyone in the area, and we will return whenever we're lucky enough to be nearby again. Thank you. Wow what a find, friendly efficient service, great bacon sandwich, this could become a weight increasing regular visit

Went there for lunch but ended up just having coffee, as soon as we walked in ,what I assume was the owner, grumbled and said oh no, which wasn’t a warm welcome. They only had 2 tables in with multiple ones available then once sat down every time a customer came in the same lady grumbled about how they had a table of four in and turned away business (we were a group of four and another table of five was in). Made us all feel very uncomfortable and hence why we didn’t order lunch in the end. Very disappointing

Just popped into have a cuppa, a sandwich and a soup. Soup was homemade and delicious, served with thick slices of malted bread, the sandwich was lovely too. Service was great and the staff were lovely.

As a regular of this cafe i can’t say enough good words about it! The staff are absolutely lovely and friendly, even the dog gives you a warm welcome! The food and service is 10/10 every time me and my partner visit and would always recommend to anyone in the area! Already looking forward to my next visit :)

Excellent all round. Small. Very good food. Dog friendly as well. Best of all they understand that a burger has no place anywhere near a brioche bun and make them with a good sourdough roll of just the right size for the burger. Perfect.
