Great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch on Teddington High Street. Modern menu, good food and friendly, efficient service.

It’s a shame as I come here everyday as I love the food and it’s 5 minutes from my house, however I am never treated very nicely by the staff. I regularly have to ask to order and chase and then the bring the bill over with the service charge on.. I feel like they need better management! It’s such a cool place but they clearly have no courtesy that customers keep business’ alive.

Fantastic restaurant, cafe, bar. Great selection of high quality food and drinks for all day from morning to evening. Lovely decor, atmosphere and staff. In summer open front, in winter feels cosy. Would recommend a visit.

31/8/2024 Bad Service . I would not give a star to your services. Very rude welcome Manager this Sat morning 8.50am . Walk in on Saturday no booking . Full of empty tables this morning , manager asked me to wait for 40:45 mins as a lots of people reserved tables already before me . No one standing there waiting for table. Only have 10% customers in . Is it because I am not English , Discrimination here . Bad . Bad Bad !!! Friday night Mamager was very good .

Love coffee and cookies, cannoli definitely no. Lovely place but staff looking on each other not knowing what to do. I am here every week and Girlie still doesn't know what is in the cookies 😂 maybe it will be beneficial to invest in someone experienced knowing what to prioritize.

Lovely food but quite small, basic portions. Service great fast and attentive! However put in the booking notes that it was my mother's birthday but didn't get anything special like a lil cake or ice cream or anything. Just mentioning this because 90% of the time mentioning it is a birthday booking, any restaurant I have been to come out with something small and cute at the end of the meal. Atmosphere was ok, but the acoustics in there is crazy loud so it's very hard to hear what the person is saying next to you. We were able to move table once which was good so we weren't sat next to the bigger group of screaming women. I think the place will benefit from fixing the acoustics to make it better volume wise. But the owner is super lovely and a great place.

Without a doubt the best brunch I’ve ever had at Cafe Benedict. The Kyoto eggs were absolutely stunning. Everything was phenomenal. It was heaving inside a testament of the great quality making people from far and wide keep coming back. Despite this our table was made ready quickly the staff were pleasant and right from the get go once our order was in within 4 minutes was served hot! Great coffee, great atmosphere and insane price point. Best spot in Richmond catchment.

the brunch here is absolutely fantastic - so good that i almost don’t want to be recommending in case it becomes too popular and difficult to get into ! the eggs are poached perfectly and there is so much variety in terms of brunch, I’m really looking forward to coming back and exploring more things on the menu there was nice seating outside too which is always great and the staff were lovely

Very tasty breakfast here last weekend. The acai bowl and the folded eggs with mint were absolutely delicious. Good portions too. Coffee was also very good and the service was friendly and efficient. However, the Aircon was very cold which I don't like. Very popular place. We arrived just before the main breakfast crowd so were lucky I think!

A marvellous place for fuelling up before a long bike ride by the river not far from Benedict. I ordered the waffle benedict which was sooo rich in flavour. The truffle butter and thick bacon on the fluffy waffle really impressed. Not forgetting to mention the most beautiful latté I've ever seen in my life ❤️ I'll absolutely be back!

Really loved Cafe Benedict. The atmosphere was great, and the service was good. I loved the food. A few lower calorie options would have been welcomed, perhaps more fish options and fresh fruit deserts, etc

Super tasty brunch with a nice vibe and nice staff. Dropped in without a reservation and loved it!

I have a seafood allergy. We ordered chicken tacos and they strongly tasted of fish. The waitress confirmed that the chicken is fried in the same oil as their fish but didn’t seem too bothered. The bacon for their signature “Benedict” dish was then charred black with a foul bitter taste. I mentioned the above to the manager when I was paying as I noticed they’d stuck a 12.5# service charge on my bill. The manager couldn’t have been more ambivalent. While excellent places like The Fallow Deer are just down the road from Café Benedict the owners should be mindful of providing better service.

I even answered the email I was sent and no response nothing done just shows exactly how bad. Also charged for items not ordered and refused to refund so we called the bank.Terrible service and mediocre food :/ unfortunate as we looked forward to it for a while.

One of the friendliest neighbourhood restaurant / cafe we’ve ever been to, and it’s now our local. Daniel makes us feel like part of the family. Food is always great and service is excellent, even when super busy.

My son and I came here for an impromptu lunch. We like the atmosphere and the food and service are good. It gets very popular, but they operate a very organised waiting system, which only took about 15 minutes to get through. Very nice.

This place is great. Bustling on the weekends with the downside being that you'll probably have to wait for a table. So don't show up hungry! It's full of families, friends and couples. Great menu too worh breakfast/brunch food being served into the late afternoon.

This is a lovely neighbourhood restaurant and we had such a fun evening tonight. The service from the waitresses made it even better. They could not do enough to make sure we were having a great evening. Bravo Benedict’s for a lovely group of staff - that’s what makes any restaurant stand out from the rest.

Being a waiter is not always easy, you get customers who just want to moan whatever you do. I'm not one of those people, I was one of you, I want you to succeed... However, service here was awful. Two waitresses on duty who did an excellent job of noticing literally nothing and being entirely miserable. I don't know what they think the job is. You clear plates and tell the kitchen so they can cook the next course, you notice if someone has finished a drink and ask if they want more, you go and ask if people want something sooner than 10 minutes after arriving. You don't passive aggressively ask if "you're finished eating and everything" when the bill is in front of me and my knife and fork are together on the plate. I feel sorry for the kitchen, being let down by waiting clowns who don't feel it's their job to help guests have a nice dinner.

Probably Teddington's hippest eatery. The food offering here is completely different from other local restaurants and cafes. We had a potato hash with hot smoked salmon and perfectly poached eggs and eggs Royale, eggs also perfectly poached.and both delicious. Short, but OK wine list and good coffee. Staff are generally young and friendly. Some items on the menu are are little difficult to decipher but, hey, be adventurous. Reasonable prices

Great place with great food. We had late breakfast here. The choice is huge and food delicious. I highly recommend it for either breakfast or brunch.

Lovely atmosphere, professional and excellent maitre,d. Food was ok nothing to write about, waiting staff must have been their first night, polite but not organised.

A neighbourhood favourite. Cafe Benedict is a spot I will keep keep coming back to. Staff are friendly, attentive, and service is pretty fast even on weekends when it is busy I consider myself to be a poached egg connoisseur and I have not had a bad one at Cafe Benedict. Yolks are a nice dark colour (thank you Cacklebean Farm) with a rich flavour. The Eggs Sobrasada is a nice twist on a classic, texture was good and visual presentation was exemplary. I enjoyed the hash, nice and filling and not too salty. The schnitzel was fried to perfection and the chicken was nice and juicy. I liked the anchovies on top and the way the egg was presented. I would have liked a bit more salad though. Bao buns were good, I think the combination of flavours was good and there was a surplus of sauce. Tofu was nice and crispy, overall very enjoyable. You would definitely need something to accompany it though you couldn’t have it on its own. Coffee is top notch and always hits the spot, although the flat white is more of a cortado size.

Fantastic cafe, my first time, and I stopped in for a wonderful breakfast, I can't wait to go back when next in Teddington, The efficient front of house staff are just nice helpful chatty folks with time for everyone and everything! Best black Americano in ages...

The food at cafe Benedict is good. A fab range of brunch options that are varied and interesting. Everything was cooked and presented really well. The service, however, is best described as aloof. It’s reminiscent of a Parisian bistro - pretentious staff making no real effort to ensure you have a great experience. The drier in the loo is so loud it can be heard in the main restaurant, making for a quite unpleasant vibe. It’s a shame, as the food really is good. Won’t be returning.

Came for a family brunch and were spoiled for choice with an eclectic menu of goodies - Chorizo Hash is something very special, but the hidden gem is a freshly-made taro, bubble tea! Never had one better, and I've drunk them all!!

Fave brunch here always amazing

Arrived after 9pm on the off chance of a table. We were welcomed in. Lovely seared Tuna starter and the chicken Schnitzel main was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. All in all a lovely meal and would reccomend and return.

Chicken with mash potatoes and mushroom sauce amazing as always! Kitchen staff knows how to do it properly. Perfect and quick service, waiters always with the smile on the face. Bar man knows how drinks have to be made.

Very rude unaccomodating staff, my friend and I visited here on a recommendation and were so disappointed and shocked by the way we were treated and spoken to by the staff. I'm guessing we are not their usual clientale so hence why I can see some people will get better treatment here. We decided to just pay for our drinks and go somewhere else to eat....

We had to wait 15 for a table but it was well worth the wait. Service is great and the food delicious. There were five of us and we all had different dishes and all agreed how fab it was. Can’t wait to come back.

Went for brunch on Sunday morning. It was busy but we got a table straight away. There was a good variety on the brunch menu. I would recommend the Cafe Benedict hash. It was divine. The food was served very quick. Service was great, plenty of staff and always someone there to help. Staff were very friendly and happy. I will definitely go back.

Wow! An amazing find. The best eggs ever. Took my 100yr old mum who hadn’t had a decent egg dish for more than a year (living in care, great food but not great eggs) and she loved every mouthful of beetroot cured salmon with poached eggs hollandaise. The staff were so friendly and kind to my mum - and we loved the place. We’ll be back.

I think this is my favourite spot for breakfast in London. The atmosphere is buzzy and lovely and the food is insanely good. The coffee is great too. The staff are efficient and accommodating -this spot is very popular. I recommend the waffles and pastries!

I hadn’t been here to eat in quite sometime. I came last week with a friend for brunch and it was incredible; the food was very well presented and tasted amazing. Very helpful and attentive staff that actually show a bit of passion when serving tables. I’ll no doubt be back again throughout the week! I hear the best evening menu is even better…

What a lovely place Benedict! A friendly cafe/brasserie, with families, children a warming, well furnished place Cakes and eggs were really good and the service very welcoming

My fav place in Teddington for brunch etc I feel the kitchen staff are amazing and move fast, we receive our orders quick despite the busy period and sometimes full place! Front of house are a bit aloof most times, could work on their awareness. If you see someone with empty plates approach and ask if they would like dessert or more drinks. If I pay a service charge at least come around and ask if my meal is ok. Will return as the food is too good.

Waited for 45 minutes outside in the cold Guy at the door told us to come back in 40, so we did, then refused to let us wait again for another table as you “ can’t wait twice” Extremely rude guy at the desk very disappointed!

Massively overpriced for average food and the service wasn’t great. The server made a mistake with the bill resulting in me paying more than I should have, but was relatively unapologetic and didn’t offer any sort of solution, making an already expensive experience even more so.

I am visiting & was taken here for a late lunch. The service was professional and very friendly. The food, chicken wings and burgers were just delightful. The wine selection by the glass could be improved. They did not have Sauvignon Blanc. I enjoyed the casual easygoing atmosphere. I will return on my next visit.

Good food , clean place, Staff are polite..

The food was lovely, perhaps at the more expensive end. Atmosphere was relaxed, easy going. The staff were friendly, welcoming and ain the most part accommodating. I would certainly visit again but more as a special occasion than a regular spot for an evening meal.

In the (hopefully unlikely) event that I was to be shot by a firing squad tomorrow I'd like my last meal to be Eggs Arnold Bennett in the Cafe Benedict for breakfast. That says it all, I think! A year later from the above review - disaster. Eggs Arnold Bennett no longer on the menu. Lefe beer no longer on the menu. Service very slow (in the middle of serving us, our waitress went and sat at the bar to have her own lunch. She finished hers before we finished ours). Food so-so, general impression amateurs in charge of serving. Such a shame.

Have been here many a time over the years and the service and staff have always been courteous and pleasant. They have a unique take on food also which is their main differentiator and it tastes good too. Suitable for those with kids or just somewhere for a bite to eat. Recommended.

Breakfast was nice, but the service from the manager Barry was disappointing. The area next to the window has a draft and we requested to be switched to a table inside instead. However despite our being around for an hour after, Barry was unresponsive and unhelpful.

Great place but starting to look a bit tired. Toilets are an issue as limited and not particularly clean which is always a red flag! Try and get an attendant who is ideally not serving food, to check the loos every 15 mins and discourage patrons from allowing their dogs to sit on the seats.

One of the best places for breakfast, highly recommend it.

Excellent Benedict hash. And how can you not love a place that embraces Halloween (with staff in costume/character to the absolute glee of little ones).

Fantastic Croffe Madame, perfectly done and husband enjoyed bao buns but would have liked to see three on the large plate rather than two. But absolutely delicious

This place has changed. Specifically, it appears they have lost some great staff. Friendly, attentive staff that make the combination of great food and great service an excellent place to dine in. If a couple of key people aren't in, they have a very moody brunette waitress who doesn't even greet you when she comes to the table, just stands there until you speak, doesn't bother to bring water if you don't ask and will avoid catching your eye when you try to catch her, in sum, lazy and unfriendly. The new manager appears fed up already too. Cups and empty plates sit in front of diners for too long, warm welcomes forgotten and a lack of attentiveness is unfortunately the start of a cafe/restaurants demise. I also noticed that my food didn't have quite the same quality as before. My partners eggs were luke warm and my whipped feta had lumps in. Perhaps i'm pedantic, but we're used to perfection when dining in Benedicts, which is why I am leaving this review. I hope it is listened to and my feedback results in some changes to help keep Benedicts great and thriving for years to come.

Delicious breakfast food and coffee. Staff was nice and they served food very quickly.

So my friend and I arrived at the front desk to be completely blanked while the hostess was chatting to someone for quite some time it got to the point we were about to leave, she then asked us how many we said table for 2 then she turned and carried on chatting to this person (who must have been very important!) Put it this way we had to tell her twice... can I suggest you put someone who is engaging at the front as that is the whole idea of the job, customer service which we had none. We then waited for around 25 minutes to be served no apologies we go our drinks which were terrible the orange had the white pulp in which made it taste so bitter. Anyway we were excited about the Benedict part we had waited a further 25 minutes for it and wow what a disappointment.. the waiter was pretty rude and we noticed alot of people got served before us so I felt like we were more of a burden then paying customers. I felt the money we paid for the service we got was definitely not worth it. It's a shame but I really did feel I wasn't welcomed right from the first moment.
