My daughter and I visited the cafe this morning on a visit to Scarborough. A few tables and chairs outside but we opted to sit inside. The cafe was immaculate, tables and chairs were thoroughly sanitised once customers were finished and they use a track and trace system. Staff were excellent and friendly in their customer service. I am very particular about my coffee and the coffee they serve here is amazing. They serve freshly squeezed orange juice and the range of savoury and sweet food is very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again.

This is a dear little cafe ,with comfy seating is a great place to stop in the middle of the shopping area. The service is quick ,the staff are polite and cheerful. There are a good range of snacks and delicious cakes and very large toasted teacakes. The devious coffee comes complete with a chocolate. Great value.

From the outside this cafe looks quite dark, but inside it is lovely and light. The seating includes sofas, standard tables, and high stools. My coffee was very good. The staff were efficient and friendly but not intrusive. I live locally, however a holidaying couple chatted to me and remarked on how clean the place was. As someone who often visits eating places alone, I can say that I felt very comfortable here, a bonus.

This is a lovely little independent coffee shop - the coffee is great, the staff are fantastic and the homemade cakes are simply divine. It's warm and cozy on a grey day and when the sun is shining it has outdoor seating to watch the world go by... prices are very reasonable and it has a wonderful continental feel. Highly recommended!

We had missed the bus from Scarborough to Whitby, had an hour to spare and wanted a decent cup of coffee. We found this lively cafe. It is in two floors. It has a little cosy sofa area downstairs along with the toilets. As well as coffee we also had a toasted tea cake with butter and ham. The decaf coffee was excellent. If we holiday again in Scarborough we would make this our coffee house of choice

We regularly visit this cafe on a Saturday and meet with friends. Friendly staff, lovely coffee and tea, tea cake with butter and jam all served with a smile. Watch the spiral staircase down to the toilet if you are unsteady on your 'pins'. Always a favourite of ours.

Regularly pop in here during shopping trips for a proper cuppa and a nice piece of home made cake. Lovely staff and comfortable surroundings. Its location makes a welcome change from the usual wetherspoons and the more costly Costa.

After failing to eat from the SJT bistro all day menu (apparently the empty restaurant was fully booked and you can't eat from the all day menu during the, er, day), I was more than pleased to find this cafe. Cosy, with tables you can see and others in the basement. Coffee was excellent, as was the ham and cheese ciabatta and strawberry and cream cake. Really friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We walked all around Scarborough yesterday and looked in lots of cafes. We naturally avoid the 'chain type' cafes and were looking for something different. Cafe Baroque has a nice number of tables outside in a warm, sheltered location but the inside was so cheerful and welcoming it drew us in. The cakes were outstanding..truly home made and huge helpings. The scones were possibly the best we have eaten in a cafe in many years and the blueberry and lemon cake was yummy. Their coffee is good quality and the hot chocolate to die for. Don't pass by this delightful cafe....

This lovely café is situated at the top of the pedestrian precinct, so is very easy to find. Most customers seem to like to sit outside, but I prefer a bit of comfort with my afternoon tea, so my wife and I headed inside. There are not many tables, but there are stools, and a spiral staircase which leads downstairs. I didn't venture down below, as we found a table and comfortable armchairs on the ground floor. The service was exceptionally good, and I enjoyed my coffee and cake in a very relaxed modern setting, whilst watching the world go by.I had the apple cake with an apricot glaze, which was homemade, and very tasty. My wife had a sandwich which came with coleslaw, crisps and a side salad. There were newspapers to read, and overall this is a café I could become very fond of.Café Baroque is open seven days a week.

I love this little gem of a cafe. The staff are lovely and their ham, tomato and mozzarella toasties are amazing, as is their fresh orange (which they squeeze on site I hasten to add!) They also do soya coffees (as well as dairy ones) which is fab as my mum is allergic to dairy so it means we can have our mid-week natter without her having to worry about her allergy. My only nit pick is that down stairs is really cold. I know there is a little heater down their but it doesn't really make a difference. Maybe get a few more? I know you have a fridge down there which is fine as it's only a small cafe with limited space but it does make it a bit chilly! Other than that an excellent little spot and I highly recommend it!

Situated right in the middle of town, and with a large alfresco area, this is the perfect place to stop-off for a coffee/snack, whilst doing your shopping. The coffee and food is well up to standard and the staff are helpful and friendly (apart from one permanently miserable female). The one drawback is the frequent presence of council authorised so-called buskers nearby, during the Spring/Summer months. The trumpeter and the C&W singer are particularly obnoxious, drowning-out any conversation you might wish to have, with their extremely loud warblings. Most of the time they're not even playing properly, just belting out pre-recorded muzzle through a PA in order to flog cds. High-time the council showed some respect to residents and permanent traders by not allowing such things, which significantly damage the town centre experience.

A cafe with seating outside, few & far between in Scarborough High St. The Baroque Cafe is a must, lovely friendly helpful staff with smiling faces & a sense of humour...this lacking at quite a few other places we visited whilst on our visit to N E Yorkshire. We only had a Coffee & Tea but both were lovely & good value. Inside was very pleasing with the loveliest of spiral staircase. If we were locals it would be a regular. THANKS-you deserve to do well. I've visited Cafe Baroque so many times, and never thought of a Tripadvisor report until now. Cafe Baroque has been the lunchtime office of the School of Art and Design at Westwood, Yorkshire Coast College, for so many years. I have sat inside and outside so many times discussing policy and events and now that I have retired I still return to join my now ex colleagues in lunchtime conversation. The coffee is as good as it always was, the toasted sandwiches consistently desirable. The staff are as friendly as ever with a few faces that never fade. Cafe Baroque, really is a good place to stop and whether inside or outside it is the only place in Scarborough to be, especially between midday and one o'clock or indeed at any time. Full marks and a round of applause for staying power and consistency!
