The Royal Albert Hall is much more than a venue; It is a cultural and architectural icon of London. Opened in 1871 by Queen Victoria herself in honor of her beloved husband, Prince Albert, this majestic building stands as a symbol of Victorian grandeur and love of the arts. Throughout its illustrious history, the Royal Albert Hall has been the scene of unforgettable events. From thunderous ovations for legendary musicians such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Adele, to classic performances by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, every performance here carries with it unrivaled magic. This venue has not only hosted concerts; It has also been the epicenter of operas, ballets, sporting events, and even scientific conferences by figures such as Albert Einstein. Its iconic dome and impressive acoustics make each show a unique experience. Visiting the Royal Albert Hall is to immerse yourself in a place where history meets the present. The majesty of its architecture, combined with its rich tradition of artistic excellence, makes it a must-see stop for any culture lover. Without a doubt, five stars fall short of describing its greatness.

I was lucky to work at the BBC Festival of Remembrance 2024, so I got to have free roaming of the glorious Royal Albert Hall for two days which was a rare treat! I’d been to RAH previously for a comedy night that was hosted in one of the RAH’s numerous bars and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The hall itself is an incredible feat of engineering, a marvel of its age, information on which is situated in various museum-style boards around the building (the one of the 5th floor about the creating of the ceiling and how it was transported to RAH and then lowered on top is my favourite and absolutely mind-blowing!). The outside has beautiful ornaments around the top of the building, and every detail inside is a beautiful thing to behold. The staff at RAH are super professional, highly educated on everything to do with the venue - from its history to where to find which particular entrance or seating area - and a really friendly bunch who were a joy to work with. I cannot recommend the Royal Albert Hall highly enough! Whether you’re visiting London or are local, if you’re looking for a good experience then there is something for everyone going on here and I can guarantee you’ll have a night to remember! Thanks again to the RAH & its staff for being so wonderful during the Festival of Remembrance, the show itself and the whole experience were a memory I’ll be telling my grandkittens about in the future!

Impressed that there was no queue to enter. Bars on every floor. Quick to get to the bar. Once you get to the bar the choice for lager is Stella or Stella... yuck. Unsurprisingly a pint of wife beater is expensive here, as is all food and drink. They run out of regular burgers and only had vegan burgers left. To be fair the vegan burgers were pretty good. The sounds was mid for the warm up acts, but for the main act (Nasty Nas!) it was spectacular.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The venue is beautiful, as we imagine. I think the stage needs to be little bit higher because we set in the circle raw 13 and when the artist set down we can not see her🥴 we were so close to the front and we didn't see her. If the stage was just bit higher, above people heads when sitting, we would have seen them just fine… wont bother booking in the circle next time. The violin sounded amazing in the hall and the show was great, and the big finally with the great Oregon was out if this world. I think the bars and restaurants are extremely over priced and there is no value for money as the food was noting special.

Saw Bob Dylan Nov 12th. Well, I say I saw him; the lighting was so minimal that after three songs I realised I was looking at the wrong guy! In fact I couldn’t say 100% that it was him on stage at all. Great venue though. Lots of bars with well-priced booze. Helpful staff. My main gripe is that when I went to collect my ticket from Door 12 the lady saw I’d bought it from Viagogo and said: “that says it all. Not valid. Queue over there to try and claim your money back”. I then went to another lady at the desk and showed her the same letter from the buyer authorising me to collect the ticket and she issued a ticket straight away! If you are a Dylan fan from the late 70s onwards you won’t recognise many songs. And as for showmanship or stage presence, there’s none.

Service was good and drinks fine but the food was not good. The focus seems to be on speed of service and keeping prices fair instead of quality. We had two very basic roast meals. Turkey dinner was almost barely warm including the gravy, no pig in blanket, carrots boiled not glazed. Roast beef with cold gravy again and the roast potatoes were dry and tasteless - reheated (at 1pm?) and not warm - certainly no duck fat involved. We pointed out the food being cold and just got a shrug. They did reheat the gravy. We ate it as no time to complain and start again elsewhere. It was edible - just a disappointment. Charge a little more if you need to - just provide value! Wine and beer were fine.

Don't go there!... We arrived before 1 p.m. and ordered 2 croque monsieurs, we said that we would be served quickly (so we immediately booked a tour of Westminster for 2 p.m./2:30 p.m.). At 1:40 p.m. we were told that our order had not yet been issued (even though there were 9 customers in the restaurant), and that it would take 7 minutes for it to come out. We confirm that we are taking it anyway since we had not had breakfast. Well, at 2 p.m. we got up and left without having seen the shadow of a croque monsieur. So we ran to Westminster to enjoy our visit, on empty stomachs from the day before. And so I'm writing this message at 5 p.m. still having eaten nothing. Ashamed !!! Noting that when leaving we still paid almost €20 for our drinks for a coke and a spritz without the slightest action being made. In short, if you want to waste your time, you understand (and even then I find it hard to imagine if I had ordered a slightly more sophisticated dish)
