Cafe 1917 in Bromley

Such a lovely chicken burger, marinated to keep it juicy and grilled to perfection. The waitress even remembered us from our previous visit two weeks earlier! Reasonable price, friendly service.

I popped in here on my own for a coffee and ended up having a slice of their delicious lemon meringue pie and a latte. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and put me at ease even though I was on my own.

A rip off. “Chef’s Choice of bread” - white sliced! A single slice of tomato? £2.50 plus 10% service charge! Greasy spoon quality at fancy cafe prices.

This is a nice cafe. Very big and outside space at the back. We just had coffee but it was very overpriced.

Lovely staff! Super friendly and accommodating I had a full breakfast and cake and it was wonderful!! I definitely recommend the homemade cakes especially the banana and walnut!

Came here for lunch on a sunny afternoon and was sat in a lovely outside area. We had the falafel wrap and club sandwich. Even though the club sandwich never had bacon inside, it still had great flavour. Portions were also generous. Definitely recommend.

Ordered eggs royal, the salmon was brown, looked like salmon trimmings what we all know is cheap. The chef stormed out of the kitchen to my table with the eggs royal and the salmon he used which didn’t look great either, and tried to tell me that it’s brown because it’s smoked!! Not only did he come across as hostile, the MOD and the waitress was also standing over me at the table. They were all trying to tell me that’s the best salmon but I’ve been in there a number of times, and as eggs royal is my favourite breakfast, I’ve seen what good salmon looks like and that certainly was not it. The MOD even had the cheek to ask me to pay for my coffee, so I just responded with a very BIG FAT NO! It’s a sham because I really liked going in there but after this, I’ll prefer to eat elsewhere. The salmon was the worst I’ve ever seen and no chef needs to approach a customer in that aggressive manor.

Whenever we go to Bromley, we often find it hard to find a good independent cafe for brunch. This cafe has answered our prayers. The menu is excellent, providing a range of healthy options for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Better still, none of the options are subject to time restrictions. I had the halloumi and avocado wrap with a side of chips, and my partner got the vegetarian breakfast. Both were extremely delicious. We look forward to visiting again when we next pop to Bromley and try some of the other options available.

I've been here for lunch a few times and it's become my favourite spot in Bromley. The food and service are always wonderful and the garden is so lovely and very kid-friendly. It's a gem of a place!

Was ignored by the staff, they seated people after us and took their orders. One waiter made an issue about where the buggy was. It was not in the way at all. Pretentious, overpriced, uncomfortable. Awful awful caff experience. I don’t really do reviews but this took the mick. When we got up to leave they even had the cheek to say goodby. Never ever ever again.

This was my second time here and must say, still wasn’t impressed. Good coffee but staff all over you like a rash. Too many servers wanting to take your order - slow day🤷🏻‍♀️ Had the berry pancakes / not nice , hard tough bits in middle - stale/frozen who knows ?! Definitely weren’t freshly cooked ! Nice outside area though. Not worth going for the coffee alone. Can’t even remember what I had on first visit but I remember it wasn’t great !

The staffs (Ermia & Josh...and others) were very attentive, never rude that makes the experience worth recommending to family & friends. Definitely will come back again.

In short - 45 minute wait. No kids menu. Apparently white sliced bread is 'Artisan'. Should have gone to Cote. I had brunch here today and was very disappointed with my experience. Firstly I had to wait 45 minutes for our food, which in isolation I normally don't have an issue with (It was Saturday after all!), but this was not the only problem. I am really shocked that this cafe doesn't offer a kids menu. I was with my 2 year old son and after finding out that there was nothing on offer for him, I asked the waitress if he could have a child's portion of what I was having, and she said YES OF COURSE! I had the scrambled eggs, avocado and artisan bread. The egg and avo was very nice, but the 'artisan' toast looked like it was bog standard white sliced bread from a local supermarket. My son's nan was with us and she kindly offered to pay. It was disappointing to find out that she had been in charged full price (over £9) for my son's egg and toast despite the waitress agreeing to him having a smaller portion. The overall price was nearly £40 for two adults and a child to have some breakfast and drinks. Maybe I shouldn't have assumed my son's food would have been cheaper but at that price, I would have been better off going to Cote or Bill's, as they do offer a kids menu. It would have been cheaper and the food would have been nicer.

Dropped by on a Sunday morning - really lovely cafe (even if the decor is a little random) but friendly and helpful staff, fantastic food and well worth a visit!

Made a visit today with some friends really poor quality food used to have lovely breads etc but today cheap white sliced bread and cold at that, eggs just thrown on plate next to toast think may have changed hands as used to be lovely won’t be going back

Lovely little cafe just outside the Glades shopping centre. Very friendly staff. Food great. I had a Greek Feta cheese salad and my daughter had a salmon and cream cheese bagel. Would definitely recommend and would visit again when shopping in Bromley.
