Caesar's Restaurant in York

Good authentic Italian restaurant. Food was very good and the restaurant gave a very good variety of gluten-free dishes which is good for me as a lot of Italians still don’t offer these. We had olives and garlic bread for starter and went for the Pizza’s as an option I had gluten-free base Napoletanaand her indoors the Cacciatora con pollo, both were excellent, and generous both in size and topping.The setting of the restaurant was excellent about 100 yards from Yorkminster and good views, and itself came across as a friendly small trattoria. I would definitely go back if I was again in York

We had booked, shown to the table straight away. Drinks order taken and wine arrived very quickly. Had starters and pasta mains, delicious meals all in all. Coffee and Sambuca to round off the evening. Lovely, really enjoyed the atmosphere and the meals.

Booked this very last minute on a Saturday and thankfully they had space. Lovely food, the pizza was so delicious with alot of topping on it! I would definitely return, the only down side is it was a little pricey for what it was.

Outstanding pizza, probably the most authentic I have had outside of Italy, not a fancy sort of place but for me it’s all about the food.Nice friendly staff, would definitely return if I’m in York.( if you are after a chain style characterless take away pizza then this is probably not for you)

Shocking food, pizza looked like soup. Rotten to the core this restaurant. Nothing good at all to say and I’m never one complain.

Celebrating my 30th birthday!! Staff made us feel soo welcome food was spot on one of the best Italians I’ve had !! Would definitely recommend!!

Staying close by on a short break and passed the restaurant a number of times, always looked busy so we booked a table for dinner. Really friendly staff, nice setting and great service along with the food. Good choice on the menu and Gluten Free options for myself. Really enjoyed our delicious food and wine in a nice friendly restaurant, never felt rushed which added to the experience. On our visit the Ghost Walk stopped on the opposite side of the road, waved at the diners then crossed to the restaurant it was like a scene from ‘Thrller’ so funny. Will definitely return and recommend.

Food was really nice and they managed to get us a table in the courtyard without us pre booking on a busy evening. The service was good although it could have been more attentive.

Excellent Italian restaurant. I had the TORTELLONI CALABRESE which was delicious with plenty Parmesan cheese. My partner had 2 sea bass. Could not fault it. The desert was home nsfe tiramasu. Best I have tasted in any Italian restaurant and I have been in many. Staff were friendly. Recommended.

We’d been walking around York for quite some time, looking for just that ‘right’ place. With no luck. It was very busy for a Monday night, and many places were fully booked. Ideally we wanted to avoid big generic chains. We were about to give up when we found this little gem.Got a table straight away- in a little garden area (back yard more like) but was nice (end sept so nice and cool outside) and romantic. Ish. Food came quickly and was really nice. I had â deliciously creamy carbonara. And garlic rosemary flatbread- lovely. Very impressed. Can’t remember what she had but it was so creamy and she loved it.Partners aperol spritz looked the biz, but was not great according to her, bit watery. Could be better. Still, that did not detract from our happy visit. Waiters were happy and had some good humour. Would defo recommend for friendly service, good food, reasonable prices, not pretentious at all.Recommend.

Visited yesterday during our stay in York. Friendly staff and food excellent. Hope to go again soon.

We visited Caesar’s last week for my nieces graduation celebration meal I cannot praise this restaurant enough for its amazing food and service,We were a party of 11 but even though we were a large booking everything was just perfect, The food was piping hot and all came at once the steaks were amazing and cooked to perfection,the menu is so vast here it’s difficult to choose which delicious meal to have but every single meal we chose was delicious.I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff for being so attentive, professional and friendly, this restaurant is really a little gem in the heart of York but book in advance as they get really busy due to being so popular.Well done Caesar’s we will return in the near future for another delicious meal. ❤️

We had a lovely dinner here, as most other places were fully booked. Food arrived pretty quickly and was simple and tasty, exactly as we were hoping for.

Came here for lunch. Food, service and environment all pretty average. A good lunch, we got what we paid for. Would have been nice to have some music!

Called in at the restaurant on Saturday morning to check if they had availability for a party of 8 that evening and they kindly fitted us in, so grateful. The food was lovely, portion sizes were generous and the staff were friendly. So pleased we came across Caesars, we'll certainly be back and definitely recommend.

visited on a Friday night at around 7. managed to seat us very quickly and serve us drinks soon after. the cocktails were lovely and the food even better! amazing portions and various options for different dietary requirements. Staff were lovely and the manager/supervisor served us our pizza and went the extra mile with some garlic mayonnaise he recommended with the pizza - a perfect combination! with the dungeon/ghost walk stopping outside the staff entertained them and that was a nice touch! overall a lovely evening and will be recommending to friends :)

We came to York to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Caesars was perfect. The food was an incredible reminder of our honeymoon in Venice and the staff were so kind and accommodating - even gifting us a wonderful bottle of white wine as a gift at the end of the night!Thank you to everyone at Caesars for bringing a little bit of our Italian honeymoon to the UK. We will definitely be coming again on our next visit to the walled-city!

This is our second visit over a few years, with the family on holiday. It’s an extremely friendly place to eat, great atmosphere and excellent customer service. The food is delicious, all of it. Never can anyone get my steak just right , but they did. I ordered Well done fillet steak, how they cook it to be so tender but well done ( I’m sure the chef was in horror asking for it to be well done lol ) it was cooked to perfection and so tasty. We ordered so much more it was all Devine, pizza, garlic mushrooms, and the kids chicken nuggets were fresh home made chicken nuggets , my wee one loved them. We can not wait to visit York again, we would come just to eat at Caesar’s. Make sure you book early , it’s an extremely popular place.

Highly recommended. Really great restaurant. Super friendly and helpful waiting staff. House red wine was decent, which is always a good sign. Thank you Feta Cheese (waiter) for recommending the Filetto Pepe Rosa, it was so good, we came back the next day and ordered the same! The steak was cooked so perfectly we bought the chef a drink (Cheers Danny). Shame we don’t live locally, we'd be regulars!

Caesars is always on our list of places to eat when visiting York, in fact we’ve driven from Glasgow for the day to have pizza for here, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, Fettah (Feta like the cheese) always has time to talk with the kids and ensures that you are having an enjoyable meal. The pizza is some of the best I’ve ever tasted. As a family we would highly recommend this restaurant as a place to eat both lunch or dinner.

Our family of four had a lovely meal. We had the carbonara, lasagne and two other pasta dishes and the food was fresh and tasty. It had a nice atmosphere, staff were helpful and polite we would definately recommend a visit.

The food and service is spot on, cannot fault it at all. Feta Cheese (the waiter) was so accommodating and very helpful with food choices. Would definitely recommend and come back. Thanks!! :)

The restaurant was busy even at 7:30 but we were quickly sat at our table and drinks ordered. Table was sticky and asked waiter to clean it . But he didn’t use any cleaner just a dry paper towel? Table was still sticky. Definitely should consider table cloths. It looks so much nicer. Secondly on restaurant lighting, it would be far better having low key lighting instead of bright spotlights.The food was very good, all freshly made and tasty. Service was good. It’s not often the Menu has so much choice but it would suit any couples or families.For value and quality I give a 4 stars.

My pizza was cold, I was then provided with a fresh pizza but food for both of us was nothing more than average.

Came down to York for a city break an decided to eat here on our first night. Booked online which was incredibly easy and when we arrived at the restaurant we were offered a table either inside or outside and we chose to sit outside.We were shown through to a little courtyard at the back of the restaurant which housed 4 tables and was refreshingly cool on a hot July night.My wife and I both had pasta which was delicious and I can thoroughly recommend the Zinfandel rose it was very nice.The staff were attentive and very courteous- when I ordered grappa the waitress wasn’t sure what it was but went and asked and lo & behold one duly appeared.A great meal with lovely staff we will definitely return.

Simple don't bother, not an Italian in the place, my daughter asked for a hot chocolate and we watched the barman make it with cheap instant hot chocolate, (just an example of the quality you can expect). Seriously find somewhere else, because this let's down italian cuisine.

We visited around 6pm on a Friday without a reservation. We were welcomed warmly and seated in the small courtyard at the rear the service was superb throughout. The food was delivered quickly and with a smile. The food and drink were excellent.

We visited last week, we hadn’t booked but managed to get a table. Food was gorgeous and service was great, proper traditional Italian food. I would highly recommend the lasagne it was so tasty and filing. We were so full we couldn’t manage pudding but the cakes looked lovely. Service was excellent too, we’ll be back when we next visit York. Toilets were spotless, always a good sign of a clean restaurant!

Went with friends who, due to Covid, we've not seen for almost 2 years. Needed a place we could depend on for food and service, so it had to be Caesars

As always, a lovely Italian meal. The calzone was divine, the meatballs were gorgeous and the home-made tiramisu was just perfect to finish it all off. Very generous portions, reasonable prices especially for such a fab city location, and most importantly warm and friendly service....my daughter loved trying out her GCSE Spanish with the waiter! Thanks, we will be back.

We enjoyed a beautiful meal here on a Saturday Evening. We had not prebooked but we were very lucky that the manager could find us a table as long as we were finished be 7.30pm. The menu had lots of choice including traditional italian dishes as well as a few contemporary options. I chose the Lobster and Prawn Ravioli which was delicious. My partner enjoyed the Spaghetti Bolognese and the children enjoyed penne with steak and Four Cheese Gnocchi. The selection of breads with olive oil and vinegar was really nice before our main meal. We also enjoyed a bottle of sparking rose wine with our meal. The restaurant has a lovely family vibe and the staff are very attentive and friendly. We will definitely visit again when we are in York!

We were a family of 5 (me, my husband, our son, daughter in law and almost 6yo granddaughter) who dined at Caesar’s Italian Restaurant last night. We were holidaying in the York area and had spent the day in the city. We had not made any plans for dinner but decided on Italian food. We found Caesar’s after a google search of the area we were in and were very lucky that the restaurant was able to accommodate us without a booking. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially with our granddaughter. We all had starters and a main course (there was a very good kids menu) and the food was absolutely delicious. None of us could fault it and both my husband and son used to be chefs. We would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant and the food and we will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Food was tasteless, we both left our meal and no comment to was made when we mentioned it!Restrooms (and staircase up to it) was dirty, if I'd have seen that first I wouldn't have ate there.Also tables were close together, Very disappointed.

Booked this restaurant in advance and I’m glad I did. We dined during half term, the restaurant was extremely busy. I witnessed many people being turned away. I choose this restaurant due to its excellent menu choices, which offered me a range of dishes due to being gluten and dairy intolerant. I really couldn’t fault the food it was lovely. The only way they let them self down was the way both the food and drinks were presented. For choice and taste though I would highly recommend.

Booked by email through their website a month in advance to ensure we could get a table during our half term break. Pleased we did as we saw people without booking being turned away. Followed up confirmation with an email checking we could use Gourmet Society card. We did not get a reply to this. On the evening we were told that we could not use the card during Half Term. I understand why, but it is frustrating to find out once seated when I have asked in advance and the Gourmet Society App only says not available December, Fridays and Saturdays.Food, drink and service were all excellent. Would eat here again.

Staff and service was amazing. Food even better. We had a three course each with cocktails, garlic mushrooms was lovely, our pastas and desserts also really good. I recommended anyone who is visiting to get the Italian bread basket, for £2 something its a lovely selection to add to your meals, you will not regret it! also booking is recommended as it was very busy and they had to turn a few people away!

We arrived at lunchtime without a booking, they were booked up, but were able to accommodate us for "one hour" which turned into an hour and forty-five minutes Service was great all the staff were friendly and attentive the food was excellent definitely would recommend Seabass and "baby" prawnsLasagne Margarita pizza

Caesars is an absolute gem in this gem of a city. We received a warm welcome on entry and shown to our table. The waiter took our coats and gave us a menu. The menu has so much variety we were spoiled for choice. We ordered drinks and ordered a starter of Garlic Bread with tomato sauce. The garlic bread was cooked to perfection and the sauce was tangy and full of flavour. For the main course I chose the Calzone and my wife had mushroom risotto. The calzone was enormous and the filling was flavoursome and plentiful and was piping hot. My wife is an extremely fussy eater but she said the risotto was delicious and creamy and the mozzarella topping gave it a bit of bite.We love our puddings and perused the menu but we were full after the other courses so we reluctantly, on this occasion gave them a miss. We have had the ice cream and creme brulee on previous occasions and thoroughly enjoyed them. The staff are friendly, attentive but not overbearing and the atmosphere is lovely. The meal cost us £28.00 which is great value for two courses and drinks.The only criticism has nothing to do with the restaurant as a passing ghostwalk decided to pull faces at the diners, which was frankly infantile.It is our go to place when in York and cannot wait to visit when it is permitted, and have pleasure in recommendingthis lovely restaurant. Five stars is not enough

I ordered from here via uber eats for my finances 30th birthday as we always enjoyed dining the restaurant. The food was so bad she couldn't eat hers and threw it away. And there is no option to complain or leave a review via uber eats. The pizza box itself had a distintive scent which was clearly absorbed by the pizza so all you could taste was funky cardboard rather that the pizza. The smell was so bad we couldn't even have the box in the house so had to throw it all in the outside bin. Left hungry and disappointed. Won't order from here or via uber eats again.

Booked a table for lunch, felt comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. We ordered from both the 2 course set menu and the lunch menu (for the kids) eldest was fine but a bit big for the youngest as kids menu was suggested to small for over 10s. All enjoyed the food and would return again.

When we entered the restaurant we thought it was quaint and nice it was run by a family. We started with coctails, although my husbands godfather just looked like a double whiskey with ice and my mojito tasted nice to start but then after a few sips I couldn't taste the alcohol, just ice and sugar. We went for the set menu. My husband ordered the meatballs, which were delicious but my mushrooms in white wine sauce were bland. The mushrooms were watery so that came out in the sauce. On the main my husband ordered the duck. Was tender but was still bleeding slightly and the skin wasn't crispy. His sauce tasted more like gravy too. My seabass the skin was lovely and crispy but the rest of the fish was dry and again the sauce was bland. The rice was stodgy too. I was to disappointed to stay for dessert, this was suppose to be my birthday meal, so I asked to have my tirimisu to go. The tirimisu had no alcohol in it and tasted old. I am upset ive had to leave this review because the staff and restaurant were lovely.

My husband and I visited this restaurant while in holiday in York. The staff were very friendly and professional and gave us enough time to decide what to eat. The food we ordered was amazing very tasty. There was a great atmosphere in the restaurant and I would highly recommend a visit and will return next time we are in York.

We came here for the lunch special . Only a handful of people in. Quite a chilly afternoon. Been a lot over the years but not recently. We chose from the pasta or pizza menu which included a drink. I had lasagne . Now I know I always prefer it with vegetables in it but it was full of meat so maybe I chose the wrong dish. My partner had pizza and paid extra for more toppings. Very big pizza which he enjoyed. House wine was ok. Didn’t have a sweet. Whilst there used the toilet. The extractor fan was full of dust. The tiles on the wall were really dirty and the toilet seat was half off. Not good for this Covid epidemic safety . We left a phone number and contact name for a Track and Trace which anyone could have looked at.So much for data protection !

We decided to eat here during our recent trip away as it was one of the few restaurants in York which didn’t have step access - important when travelling with a blind man and a baby!We booked ahead and they kindly reserved us a table with six seats so there was plenty of space for the pushchair.We were pleased to find a set menu offer available with lots of choice and at just £16 for three courses. The food was mostly delicious, in particular the homemade meatballs and tiramisu. The only thing that could have really been improved was the pizza which was quite heavy on the cheese, but still very tasty! The wine was also nice and reasonably priced.Would definitely recommend!

Muy difícil en la pandemia actual y podemos entender lo difícil que es para el sector de la hostelería.Habiendo fallado en entrar en dos o tres lugares, pasamos Ceasars, y parecía que podrían tener algo de espacio (o quizás una o dos mesas acercándose a un final). Preguntamos, y la respuesta fue '¿te importaría subir? '. No teníamos idea de lo que esto significaba, bueno, malo o de otro tipo, pero dijimos 'no hay problema': teníamos hambre, estábamos agradecidos si podían apretujarnos (y, como regla, un restaurante lleno no va a ser demasiado desgastado) . :'Arriba' era una sala pequeña, con capacidad para 10 o 12 personas en tres mesas. Ya había otra pareja allí, lo hicimos un segundo, y unos 20 minutos después de que nos sentamos, una tercera pareja ocupó la 3ª mesa. Y mientras que normalmente podría pensar que esto era menos atmosférico, deje "fuera del camino", la realidad era que estábamos absolutamente cómodos con lo que era la parte más "socialmente distanciada" del restaurante. En la pandemia, estaría * feliz * de estar sentado allí, aunque las escaleras son empinadas y no son adecuadas para personas con dificultades de movilidad (consejo, los baños también están arriba, y no sé si hay instalaciones en planta baja). El único aspecto negativo fue que la habitación de arriba estaba un poco fría, un poco de corriente. Creo que siento el cambio otoñal.La comida era buena, excelente. Compartimos los deliciosos (y muy calientes) champiñones con ajo y comimos una pizza cada uno: excelente corteza de pensar, con muchos aderezos llenos de sabor (Quattro Stagione y Vegetarian). Luego comí un trozo de pastel de queso de fresa, que estaba solo 'bien'; la camarera cometió un pequeño error al decir 'tienes suerte, nos quedaba un trozo'; bueno, no, para mí, 'suerte' es tener el primero pedazo de la nueva y fresca tarta de queso, ¡no la última pieza del anterior! ! !El servicio fue amable y bueno; el valor era justo - York no es un lugar para comer barato, ciertamente no en un sábado por la noche concurrida, y los estudiantes que regresan a la Universidad agregan el ajetreo. Había estado allí una vez antes hace unos años y pensé que bien valía la pena otra visita.Mesas bien espaciadas y un ambiente luminoso junto con un personal amable hicieron de esta una noche agradable. Mucha variedad y comida sabrosa y mucha variedad para una esposa celíaca que no contiene gluten.La única queja leve fue que no se da suficiente tiempo entre platos para permitirle digerir la comida. He estado en Italia varias veces y tienden a tomarse su tiempo para comer, así que se sintieron un poco apurados a pesar de que el restaurante no estaba particularmente lleno

Esta es una pequeña joya preciosa. Mi esposo y yo comimos aquí en nuestra primera noche en York. El personal es excelente, servicial y muy amable. Y aunque no teníamos reserva se las arreglaron para meternos.Decidimos pedir pizza y lasaña y compartir los platos, pero después de probar la lasaña no me atreví a compartirla. Cuando llegó el queso burbujeaba y la pasta muy fresca. Absolutamente preciosa. Mi esposo dijo que la pizza de pepperoni era deliciosa y créanme que es un hombre difícil de complacer. En general, una gran comida en Caesar's.Definitivamente volvería a comer aquí

Lovely food, great service and really authentic. We loved this restaurant. It’s a little off the beaten track but I can’t recommend it enough. We had garlic bread, salmon salad, risotto and calzone. Then tiramisu and cheesecake.

Popped in with my family for some lunch on a day trip to york. Staff friendly and helpful, covid compliance and social distancing excellent. And! The best pizza ive had in the UK! Would recommend.

Absolutely gorgeous food and delicious wine We just called on the chance that they may have a table free and was accommodated straight away even though they were very busy .We would definitely go back to this lovely authentic Italian 🤩🍷x

El impulso del momento me dejó en Ceasars para una pizza al final de la tarde. El servicio fue rápido, si no completamente Covid, seguro, y la variación está a la orden del día de la hospitalidad en todas partes en estos días. Los platos calzone y Quattro staggioni eran sabrosos y muy comestibles. Nota: el calzone se sirvió con salsa boloñesa, mientras que las papilas gustativas prefieren una rica pasta / salsa de tomate. Además, el relleno era más escaso que abundante. La rosata ros y más grandes eran agradables. La e c peri víspera es probablemente más un almuerzo que una cena, pero si lo visita, debe disfrutar de su comida.

Good food and didn't have to wait a ridiculous amount of time for it. Wait staff were very friendly.

Booked via website and received confirmation the next day. A few days in York and read mixed reviews for this restaurant but decided to give a try as I had Dine card. Friendly staff and we were seated quickly. Before I ordered I asked about the discount card and was informed they don’t do anymore which was disappointing. The pizza I ordered was tasty but the pasta dish (meatballs) my partner had was quite basic and I could have probably made myself.

Awful experience! Booked this a week before, was made to wait outside in the rain and then told they would ‘find’ me a table after they found a table for the couple in front of us who hadn’t booked and they were allowing that couple to vape! The table they found me was one they placed right in the middle of the main thoroughfare where the fridge door knocked it! There was no social distancing at all. I walked away as did another couple who had also booked. Avoid!

We visited caesars on 18/8/20 with friends during a short break to York. Upon arrival we had a short wait to be seated but that wasn’t a problem. Once seated the service was excellent. The restaurant was extremely busy due to the eat out to help out promotion running. I must commend the kitchen staff for the excellent quality of the food considering the amount of people visiting the restaurant, job very well done! We would definitely eat here if we visited York again. There was only one concern and that was regarding social distancing as the restaurant is very small, no track and trace and the tables felt a little too close together. I understand that it is a difficult time but as I said, would return

We visited this restaurant whilst on a city break in York. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. Hygiene standards were very high.

We visited last Saturday, early evening. I had booked a table in advance via email. We were seated away from others, by the window.The food was lovely. I had lasagne and a side salad. Lasagne was beautiful. I would have liked more than a basic salad but it was ok (pictures added below).The pizzas were lovely and fresh.The children's spaghetti bolognese was a generous portion.We didn't have starters or dessert as was not that hungry.Toilets were clean and staff very friendly.No complaints. Would definitely visit again.

Although the food was fine (not amazing), the social distancing was not in place (although there was 1m between tables, there was not 1m between the chairs on different tables!), and few of the staff wore any kind of face covering or PPE. Our waiter leant over us several times and handled all our cutlery when setting the table.

Visited twice with friends on a recent trip to York, and both times we were not disappointed. Friendly helpful staff fabulous food and atmosphere all at reasonable prices. I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment.

Nice settings and friendly staff but underwhelming food. The spaghetti bolognese and gnocchi was simply bland ( even after having to add salt and pepper ). The Italian flat bread with tomato was fresh and tasty. The waitress was apologetic and offered on house deserts which was a nice touch. I wasn’t complaining but just giving honest feedback

We called here for a pizza, it was very good ,freshly made. Staff were great, due to Covid you have to book before you go but we ha not booked but they fit us in, all the social distrancing was in place. Would recommend to anyone to go.

Walked out half way through the starter after seeing a member of staff behind the counter sneezing into his hands then wipe his nose down his arm and continued to prepare food without washing his hands

We’re not local to York and are really happy we found Caesars on Trip Advisor. They delivered quickly to our holiday rental and the ordering process was really simple. We had an excellent Quattro Formaggi Pizza, a nice side salad, but the star of the show was the Pizza Calzone Kiev.

After arriving in York late on Friday we wondered if we would find anywhere to eat. As most of the businesses are slowly trying to get to some kind of new normal we wandered around. We have walked past this restaurant many times before on our visits to York but this is the first time we have been in, and it won't be the last. We were seated by the window and asked if we wanted any drinks. They arrived very quickly and we ordered our food. I had the garlic mushrooms to start and they were hot and delicious. My husband ordered the calzone pizza and I got the ham and mushroom. These were absolutely amazing and I finished the lot. My hubby pointed out to the waiter that I rarely finish a pizza but this was too good to leave. The no rushed atmosphere, the excellent staff, the whole experience. We were too full to try deserts so next time I will. I would highly recommend this place. We tried somewhere different on Saturday evening and I wished we had come back to Caesars. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Visiting York for the first time and came upon this gem of a place. Traditional Italian food, beautifully cooked. We had a pizza each and I can honestly say it was the best I have ever had. The waitress was really friendly and made us feel really welcome. We will definitely be visiting again!

My husband and I love eating here . We always visit when we are in York . The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

If you want a fantastic italan pizza, go here, it's the best in York and the garlic bread without tomatoes is really great too. Trust me, enough said.

I have lived round the corner from the Caesar’s for the past three years and can say for certain that the fun and warm atmosphere of Caesar’s brings the soul and party to the street. Looking forward to my next visit for more great food and drink and superb service. X

We went to this restaurant because it was close to our apartment & so glad that we did. Four of us all enjoyed our meals .lamb chops ,chicken & pizza all very nice & tasty . staff & service also very good & friendly. The wine also nice. It is a smallish restaurant but atmosphere lovely. A place i would revisit next time i am in york.

Ok meal not amazing. Visited with husband. We shared a meat platter to start which was a bit average for the cost. I then had the risotto which I didn’t like at all and usually love. My husband had the carbonara which was really nice.

Looks more like a cafe than a restaurant. But the food is really excellent, the service is fantastic and we were treated really well. We were in a bit of a rush and wanted a couple of pizzas to take home to other family members. And they could not have been more accommodating.Really great. Bellissimo!!

We were part of a family gathering for a birthday meal at Caesars. I last came here for my graduation meal in 2005 and am pleased to say that the food and service has not slipped in all those years! The food was generous in portions and extremely tasty, the service was excellent, especially the staff's attitude and attention to the children-nothing was a problem! We had a really enjoyable evening and will certainly be coming back!

Absolutely 1st class! Overnight stay in York with mum and sister to celebrate 2 of our birthdays. What can i say i arranged booking online night before i advised on booking about birthdays. Was greeted warmly, staff attentive, food outstanding and great ambience. Our birthdays were mentioned was celebrated with lovely dessert. Will be returning without a doubt!! I can not recommend highly enough close to york minster

Had a wonderful meal on Monday of half term break. The food was delicious. I had tripped over on the way to Caesars and had 2 cuts on my head but I was determined to go. The staff were wonderful and could not do enough to help me enjoy my evening out. As I had taken a painkiller I could not have some wine but on leaving I was given a voucher for a free bottle on my next visit. It is just a wonerful restaurant.

We had a fantastik lunch with pizza pasta and risotto dishes. But the best of all was their garlic bread. We must go back for more.... 👍

Love this little gem always look forward to a trip to York to eat here. Food is delicious and are staff always friendly.

So i visited York for my partners 30th birthday and she decided she fancied Italian. We just happened to be in a little pub next door and so asked the regulars if there were any good Italians around, and this is where they instructed us to go. We were not disappointed.

Not been here for a while but went as a party of seven for a birthday celebration. Starters, main courses and deserts were delicious for everyone and cannot fault the staff they were all polite, helpful and friendly. Will most definitely be returning.

Called on the off chance that there would be a spare table on Valentine's night. The staff were so helpful & friendly. The food was excellent and good value for money. Would definitely go back again.

We came here as a party of 13 today. The restaurant was empty, bar 1 table of 2 so we were lucky in that the staff were able to look after us swiftly. We ordered off the specials menu (starter and main for £14) All our starters and drinks arrived quickly. My fried mozzarella starter was a little cold but I couldn’t be bothered to send it back due to the size of our party and also the taste was a little synthetic, the sauce it came with was nice though. A friend of mine commented that her bruschetta wasn’t that pleasant either, but that could be personal taste as others ordered the same and polished it off. All our mains were great apart from calzones (which hardly had much filling in, but had loads of bolognaise sauce outside) to pastas and burgers. Alcohol is quite expensive though.

We visit this restaurant on a regular basis and always get a very warm welcome. Food is delicious and staff are most helpful and pleasant. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I booked Caesars for my mums 80th birthday and 14 of us dined there last night.

the food was nice but the random bowls of veg felt very 1970s. could use a bit of an update. delicious wine

Regresé a este encantador restaurante italiano después de una gran experiencia el año pasado para el cumpleaños de mi hija. Tuve el marisco tagliatelle de nuevo, que era encantador. Los calamares eran un poco duros, pero para ser justos, nunca he estado en un restaurante donde no estaba. Mi hija tenía carbonara y mi esposo y otra hija tenía su nueva hamburguesa italiana. Wow es todo lo que puedo decir. Fue absolutamente increíble en sabor. De hecho, diría que después de mi pequeño sabor es la mejor hamburguesa que he probado. Mi esposo es bastante exigente y lo disfrutó muchísimo. Para rematar la noche, el personal trajo una rebanada de pastel de queso con una vela para el cumpleaños de mi hija y procedió a cantarle feliz cumpleaños. Realmente fue encantador. No dudaría en recomendar este lugar y definitivamente lo recomendaré. Muchas gracias.

Pequeño gran restaurante. Llegamos a las 5 de la tarde en la víspera de Año Nuevo y por la noche, aunque tenían muchas reservas pendientes porque nos acomodaron en la habitación de arriba. La comida era deliciosa, pero los raviolis de langosta podrían haber estado un poco más caliente para los de nuestro grupo que la comieron. Dicho eso, no estropeó el sabor. El personal era encantador y muy amable y no dudaríamos en volver de nuevo. gracias.

Came here with my teenage daughter about 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. She has had a few takeaway pizzas from here and has wanted to try the restaurant for awhile. Considering it was the Saturday between Xmas and New Year it wasn’t over busy. Ordered olives and the Italian bread selection for starters. The olives were olives, but the Italian bread was just four slices of a white baguette! I ordered the Penne alla Caesars and my daughter had the Margerita Pizza. My pasta was cooked nice and the beef strips were nice and tender, it was supposed to have chillis in as well, but no evidence of them and it was advertised as “spicy” on the menu, which it certainly wasn’t. My daughter enjoyed her pizza though and finished it all. Didn’t have a dessert, as there wasn’t a great deal of choice. Starters, main courses, one bourbon and one soft drink came to £37. The meal wasn’t bad, but was hoping for better. Staff were friendly and helpful.
