Visited the Cactus Hound for dinner and drinks and was blown away by the authenticity of the food. A group of us shared a variety of the dishes with some of the delicious cocktails from the menu and genuinely I would return weekly to eat/drink it all over again if I lived closer. Mezcal was smokey, empanadas were spicy and the staff were amazing. Venue is great too but I expected more cacti.

With a mexican / cuban style feel to it, this cool place secretly does something good. Very good in fact. Tequila, mescal, agave. and variations thereof. Charming knowledgeable staff make this place a margerita lovers heaven. An enormous range of all things cactus related in bottles behind the bar make it a must go to venue to chill out and get that much needed fix. But its only tequila isn't it?

Hats off to the excellent young bar staff who mixed some marvellous cocktails with style. This place has a great atmosphere and although we visited early evening can imagine it only gets better as the night rolls on. We’ll be back soon to find out!

Popped in for a few pre dinner drinks not knowing anything about the area. Was pleasantly surprised by the Cactus Hound. Very friendly staff. Had a couple of pints of Asahi, a G&T and a Mocktail. All very lovely. Really impressed with the ambience and if I went back to St Leonard’s and fancied a beer I would definitely go here.

Hip, chic and funky. Has a Greenwich Village after-hours feel. Somewhat subdued on a midweek evening but I wager it rocks the walls down on the weekend. Their signature margarita is pure rocket fuel.

Came here with a friend who was keen to get some good tequila down her. The drink selection is amazing and really well priced. We had food whilst there and the only food with any flavour was the grated carrot. 3 x tacos all of a different kind, all bland with no flavour 100% recommend for drinks, barely recommend for food

Popped in as we got off the train. It was a Saturday, around 3pm, and we were the only people in there. Which meant that we had a good chat with the really friendly staff. Good range of beer on tap. Comfy seat to snuggle into. Looking forward to going back.

I would have taken a photo before I ate most of it, but the brownies here are stuffed with chocolate but somehow aren't sickly sweet! The selection of hot chocolate is amazing, and my mum informed me that the lattes are great! Definitely worth a drop-in.

This is an incomparable, little gem of a restaurant . Top quality, interesting and imaginative dishes all created by a very talented chef using locally sourced produce makes it difficult to decide what you would like! Memorable experience for someone who is coeliac too. Good sized portions and amazing choice = excellent value for money. Don’t forget to try the Appasiomento wine - a true find. Front of house service is relaxed, faultless and friendly making the overall experience excellent. We always pre-book to avoid disappointment.

This is a fabulous place and probably the most fantastic sandwich shop in all of Hastings & St Leonards - the tiniest shop with the BIGGEST sandwiches!!

The last 5 visits to St Leonards & Hastings we have gone here for some light lunch. Every visit its been excellent. Laid back ambience, lovely owners, nice staff and yesterday we had the cheese and ham toastie in a light crisp toasted bread with the mushroom, caramalised onion toastie. Both excellent. They keep making it difficult to try anywhere else! Dog friendly too.
