The best spicy margaritas, all the cocktails looked so good, really extensive tequila and mezcal menu. No frills bar, really good drinks.

Oh my god, this place should get a five star review for its drinks which are fab, but the dogs in here were just out of control making it utterly unenjoyable - one star. I have a dog (at home) but seriously, there were three on the sofas next to us, up and down, coming over to us, sniffing us, sniffing our drinks, our olives. Because you love your dogs, does not mean I want them in my adult, drinking space!! Get a grip Cactus Hound - or maybe the clue is in your name and you have simply gone to the dogs - sad

Would be a great place for a drink if dogs were not prioritised over people! We had to stand because dogs were taking up seating.

Visited the Cactus Hound for dinner and drinks and was blown away by the authenticity of the food. A group of us shared a variety of the dishes with some of the delicious cocktails from the menu and genuinely I would return weekly to eat/drink it all over again if I lived closer. Mezcal was smokey, empanadas were spicy and the staff were amazing. Venue is great too but I expected more cacti.

With a mexican / cuban style feel to it, this cool place secretly does something good. Very good in fact. Tequila, mescal, agave. and variations thereof. Charming knowledgeable staff make this place a margerita lovers heaven. An enormous range of all things cactus related in bottles behind the bar make it a must go to venue to chill out and get that much needed fix. But its only tequila isn't it?

Hats off to the excellent young bar staff who mixed some marvellous cocktails with style. This place has a great atmosphere and although we visited early evening can imagine it only gets better as the night rolls on. We’ll be back soon to find out!

Popped in for a few pre dinner drinks not knowing anything about the area. Was pleasantly surprised by the Cactus Hound. Very friendly staff. Had a couple of pints of Asahi, a G&T and a Mocktail. All very lovely. Really impressed with the ambience and if I went back to St Leonard’s and fancied a beer I would definitely go here.

Hip, chic and funky. Has a Greenwich Village after-hours feel. Somewhat subdued on a midweek evening but I wager it rocks the walls down on the weekend. Their signature margarita is pure rocket fuel.

Came here with a friend who was keen to get some good tequila down her. The drink selection is amazing and really well priced. We had food whilst there and the only food with any flavour was the grated carrot. 3 x tacos all of a different kind, all bland with no flavour 100% recommend for drinks, barely recommend for food

Popped in as we got off the train. It was a Saturday, around 3pm, and we were the only people in there. Which meant that we had a good chat with the really friendly staff. Good range of beer on tap. Comfy seat to snuggle into. Looking forward to going back.

Nice pub, very near the beach. Staff are friendly. Often live bands or DJ of an evening or a Sunday. Fresh pizzas cooked, which are great. Lovely open fire, making it a cosy atmosphere in the cooler quieter days.

SO DELICIOUS! If I could give them 100 stars, I would! I’ve been to The Ladle a few times now and each visit has been amazing. I never leave reviews for anything, ever but I really must praise the chef because hands down I had the best food and fresh pasta I have ever had from The Ladle. I can recommend the house meat balls, the carbonara and their seafood dishes, all incredibly fresh and made to order and absolutely divineeee. This is now my go-to restaurant whenever I’m in town. 10/10. Lovely cocktails too!

Terrible. I visited this place after viewing a house nearby (which I now live in) and endured an absolutely horrific experience. It started when I began choking on a fish pâté that was unexpectedly filled with bones — no warning, no indication, until it was too late. The bones caused internal bleeding in my throat. In a panic, I rushed to the toilet to try and remove them, only to be met by staff who were frantically panicking themselves, repeatedly telling me they’d never seen anything like it — as if I had! It was terrifying, traumatic, and ended with me spending the rest of the day and night in A&E. I was so hungry I ended up eating the free cheesecake the café gave me… which unfortunately just tasted like grease and oil. While the staff did cover the bill, I strongly recommend urgent training in food safety and emergency response. This situation could have been so much worse.
