I loved this place as Cactus Coffee. Now as Snax Bake House it's not the same - breakfast rolls are as cheap and nasty snax next door. Bring back the individuality that Cactus and the spudnik roll etc had please

I thought the quality of this place had deteriorated since the last time so was here. The service here was quite abrupt, almost to the extent of unfriendly. To be fair, the staff seemed very, very inexperienced and maybe need some basic training on hospitality. The food was average too - quite good value but, IMHO, there is a better greasy spoon takeaway just round the corner that had a huge queue, which spoke volumes… The place felt a wee bit “tired” too, with the floors needing a sweep All in all, Cactus needs a bit of TLC from the owners… and soon! It is perfectly located near to backpack hostels/hotels and is a potential goldmine!

Found this by accident as we were cutting through backstreet Princes St. Menu is limited but something for everyone - I had the signature 'Spudnik' breakfast roll which was well filled with quality ingredients. My wife had the vegan salt beef toastie - skightly disappointed in the flavour of the 'beef'. Coffee was strong & tasty and the berry smoothie was fresh & refreshing. Would we go back - yes Would we recommend - yes

We have been here previously and had a great experience. That was a year ago - how things change. The menu has been reduced and the more adventurous options have been removed. The cafe area itself looks rather grubby, although what was visible of the kitchen looks clean. Anyway, while the food is very inexpensive, the quality was low. Sorry, not for us again.

I had a good take away sandwich. Decent size for the price and some good choices on the menu. Some good coffee too. Tray-bakes also available. A good option just off Princes Street in the east end, near Waverley Station.

My favourite cafe in Edinburgh. Just the coziest, quirkiest, coolest atmosphere and lovely staff. Cheese toasties are out of this world (try the one with fennel salami) and the cakes and baked goods are always tempting. Lovecrumbs always has something a little different on their menu and is a great place for coffee with friends, some remote working, or just chilling out. I love Lovecrumbs!

21212 was such a special stay, one that I'll hold very dear. The location is perfect, on a quiet street overlooking the city, centrally located, right by the beautiful Calton Hill that we took to hiking up at night to catch the stars. The rooms are exquisite, comfortable all around, well appointed, with the biggest and must luxurious bathtub imaginable. But really the highlight was the staff. We had so many good moments catching Katie in the hallway and sharing some stories. Yes, the streets of Edinburgh have their own kind of magic but for us, that's the good stuff, those moments of welcoming and connection. She and Beth made 21212 feel like a home we were being invited into, and only the most special stays achieve that sort of feeling. We look forward to coming again, and would highly recommend.

The atmosphere is quirky and the music when I went was a great tropical house playlist. The serving staff was friendly and helpful to someone like me who doesn’t know much about whisky. I had the haggis nachos and Robert Burns haggis stack, and both were amazing!

Impresionante restaurante y excelentes vistas, solo un hermoso diseño de restaurante! La comida era un poco estándar y siento que podría haber sido más contemporáneo
