Gran comida, gran vista y Alejandro era maravilloso. Nos trasladó a una mesa que tenía una vista maravillosa de la calle Princes y el castillo sin que siquiera preguntáramos. Muy amable y acogedor. Las ostras eran deliciosas y en general fue una noche muy agradable.

Great place to eat, excellent service

¿Qué puedo decir sobre el té de la tarde? Fue espectacular. Optamos por el té tradicional de la tarde con la ginebra de vapor - esto era una tetera para 2 con ginebra de frambuesa - hielo seco se vertió en la tetera para hacerlo vapor. El té de la tarde se presentó tan bien - y tenía tanta comida. sándwiches, bollo brioche, pasteles, macarrones y dos lotes de bollos con tanta crema y mermelada. Estábamos tan atiborrados después de comerlo todo que no comimos de nuevo hasta 8 horas después Tuvimos una cabina beatuiful frente a un windo mirando a la ciudad y nuestro personal de camareros era tan educado y profesional Sin duda lo recomendaría

Came in hungry, left in love! The steak was mouthwatering, the vibes were calm and cozy, and the staff? Absolute sweethearts! If you’re in Edinburgh, do yourself a favor and drop by!

Service, food, everything was just impeccable. Could not fault it.

Amazing!!! What more can I say? The waiter we had was spectacular. Asked for his recommendation between 2 starters, partly expected him to say the most expensive but he didn't. Food was to die for, service as said above was amazing and inside the restaurant is gorgeous.

Pretty restaurant with very friendly, efficient staff but below average food. The carpaccio was so small and the sea bass was more skin than fish and had a smell of catspee. It made me sick! Only desert was lovely, so for the food, i personally would not recommend this place. I actually felt ripped off.

We stayed one night for dinner and then booked to eat another day. The environment is IDEAL, quiet and with beautiful views of the city. The food is great and the dishes are very filling. The meat is excellent. We liked everything very much. Above all, thank Carlos for his good treatment, kindness and advice with the letter. Lucky to meet him.

the food was delicious , service at the highest level I recommend

Good quality business meal here today in lovely surroundings. Very much enjoyed the asparagus risotto and my guest enjoyed their fish. Would benefit from a clearer way of storing coats and any luggage on arrival - it wasn't immediately clear that this would be possible, leading to a degree of anxiety about having to fumble around with coats and luggage in front of my business contact - never a good look - but fortunately this was resolved.

We booked a family meal for 8. Everyone agreed that both the service and food were first class. The waiting staff were excellent. Well trained and attentive. The food was excellent and the restaurant location and ambience were perfect. Will definitely book again when we next visit Edinburgh. Highly recommend.

Steak is the most expensive one in the menu, but it was the worst I’ve ever had, even I do better. When we said to the waiter that it was tough, he said - “I see”, and then they stopped being nice with us)

Food was too small portions, service was ok, not 5 star, atmosphere/decor was a wee bit better, very over priced, adding 12.5% tip, that’s basically 12.5% extra to rip off it’s customers, it’s not the USA, we have minimum wage here. Anyway, it was just all right.

Nice restaurant and the staff are friendly and prompt service. Although, I ordered steak with cost £36 and it was very very tough and I had asked for medium and the steak was rare.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is truly amazing. A really nice place to sit and eat. The decor and views are gorgeous! The staff were wonderful and very friendly too. They did look after us properly through the whole meal. Our only downside was the steak. We both had sirloin and had to send the first back as it was gristly and very tough. To be honest, the second dish of sirloin wasn't much better. For £36 I wouldn't expect to have to chew my steak or sweat trying to cut it. We will try again but maybe a different meal ☺️

Seabass (watch out for bones), Lamb rump, and Macaroni Cheese were all amazing. Fries weren't impressive but okay.

Nice traditional British Restaurant serving traditional British dishes great atmosphere. The food is amazing, though wine is expensive but nice. Lovely!

Disappointing menu. Poor range of options if you don't eat meat or are vegetarian. Food was pretty good however. Service was awful. Waiters were quite rude & arrogant.

All style and not much substance. The service and cocktails at the bar were both fine, however, the dinner service was very poor. Serving staff were inattentive and aloof. No apology for an incredibly long wait to take our orders. When the food did arrive, many people received incorrect orders. The scallops and garlic mushrooms were fine. Steaks were a disaster as they all arrived rare despite several orders being between medium-rare and medium. The meat itself was very fatty and full of gristle. A few of us had trouble chewing the meat and had to leave almost half of our food. One order was sent back and when the new dish arrived, there was zero improvement. It's a shame as it's a beautiful dining room in a great location. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite live up to it's potential.

Keeps on bothering me with ads. Very Frustrating

Unfortunately we were disappointed. We booked the restaurant based on the dishes that were online on the memory card. Unfortunately, neither the desired starter nor main course were available because the menu had been updated - just not on the website. The atmosphere was rather cool and the pictures had nothing to do with the way the dishes were presented. Unfortunately, more appearance than reality. Probably OK for tourists, but not for Edinburgh connoisseurs. We made the most of the evening. Too bad

We stayed at the hotel rather than just using the restaurant, staff were all friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the towel radiator in our bathroom was broken so the bathroom was chilly, we asked for fresh towels as they wouldn't be dry. It was reported but not fixed, when we asked they initially said they couldn't find it, and then was informed part of a bigger problem, didn't fill us with confidence that it had been looked at. Lift out of order for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was cold on 1st day, I managed to eat mine mostly, but wife couldn't eat hers and didn't order 2nd day because if that, but mine was OK 2nd day just as well as I was going to challenge them this time. They were also happy to swap the haggis and black pudding 2nd day for another sausage, I tried them 1st day but not to my liking. Great central location.

Me and my fiancé chose this restaurant for our anniversary and booked window seats in advance, however we didn't get them prolly because we booked too late. Environment's okay, window seats look really nice. Food tastes fresh especially the cod is tender. Kinda big portion and nice presentation. Not the best among all the food I've tried but deserves the price and four stars as I've given. Would've given the atmosphere 5 stars before the bunch of noisy customers came in, I think it's the staff's responsibility to handle noisy customers. Overall is okay.

Beautifully presented afternoon tea with the best scones I've ever had! The chilled cucumber soup was a nice touch, as well as the warm toastie. Lovely atmosphere and view of the castle, not overly busy, and great tasting food.

Arrived for Sunday roast , waited 1 hour, then they said they’d sold out , waited another 15 mins then left … terrible service

Elegant and refined restaurant, excellent for a romantic dinner for couples. The dishes are well balanced and tasty. The only flaw is the service mark-up not expressed on the menu which increases what seemed like low prices considering the location.

Very lovely place I came with my partner for an anniversary date. Our server Carlos was nothing short of polite and accommodating. We were seated at a table with a lovely view which was accompanied by a complimentary celebratory dessert by the restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

The waiter was extremely rude and we had awful service. When we came to the restaurant there was no warm welcome and we had to wait some time to be served although we had a booking. I was shocked by the rude waiter when I asked about the tea selection, he replied in a passive aggressive way: “the one my colleague told you before”….excuse me, isn’t it part of the service you need to provide and telling the selection of teas you have, considering it’s written in the menu that we need to ask the staff about the available teas ? Yes I asked his colleague before and so what? I came to have a good time and relax and I’m not supposed to memorize all the teas if you cannot write them in the menu…. Then I asked about the oat milk that they had and guess what? I’ve got a rude reply again:”it’s a restaurant, not a coffee shop here”. Sorry, what??? Seriously? Yes that’s a restaurant and I’d expect a better service here. I’m so shocked with this rude behavior. The food was okayish, the cod tasted like the cheap fish we give to cats lol The lamb was nice but the potatoes graten was okayishhhhh for the starters we ordered bread which came with one type of each … lol the monkfish was super fat and oily… but the salmon was nice. We also ordered the french fries and they forgotten I think and then Brought two sets but the wrong ones and it was too late when we finished the mains We decided not to take any deserts after this service…. When they brought the bill we wanted to ask to remove the service charge and I think they understood that it was horrible and removed it prior we asked So I don’t recommend this place at all. The food is ok and doesn’t worth it. The service was horrible and spoiled our dinner. Maybe it’s because we are foreigners and they are racist maybe because for any other reason I don’t know but that’s very disappointing

We went with the organized trip of the Community of Madrid. A great surprise, all the Spanish workers, from Seville, the food was very delicious, we tried the Huggis, surprising.

My fourth or fifth visit, with last night bringing 16 customers. You didn't let me down. Very well looked after by you folks - appreciated. Will be back, cheers, Graeme.

Fabulous champagne afternoon tea.

As a walk in for lunch i was promptly seated at a lovely small table by the window. The sun was shining and it was a great opportunity to make the most of it. I'd followed the restaurant on social media for a while and thought id take advantage of thr 2 courses for £20 and a couple glasses of wine. The haggis bonbons and the chicken was delectable! I'll happily come back the next time I'm in the city.

Very cozy place, delicious cuisine and refined service.

Beautiful restaurant with nice views. The staff was really really nice. I asked the waitress for a recommendation, she recommended mussels. They were delicious, probably the tastiest mussels I’ve ever had, although several were broken… Looking forward to coming again.

Enjoyed Scottish cuisine at a beautiful restaurant

Beautiful inside and the view is spectacular. Get a table by the window (also be sure to check out the bathrooms!) My smoked salmon salad was divine.

I ordered a medium rare steak, it came out bleu rare. Sent it back, it came back mostly well done. I looked at the previous reviews and set myself up for a major disappointment. It is way overrated for what it provided. The taste for everything was not even good. DO NOT COME HERE.

Such a disappointing experiencing. My seafood orzo was tasty but my friend's pork belly was cold. Politely sent it back and when it came back the pork was hot but the potatoes were cold. No-one checked on us, we sat with finished plates in front of us for around 20 minutes and overall the service was non-existent. The staff were then whispering about us when we asked to have the 12% service charge removed from the bill. I can't remember the last time I did not tip but I honestly can't remember ever experiencing such poor service.

We thoroughly enjoyed Afternoon Teat at Twenty Princes. The service was outstanding. Beautiful restaurant, not too loud. A pleasant, busy, late lunch crowd of varying ages. Lots of tea options (or coffee), and we each tried two. Nibbles and scones were delicious. Several local teas are rather expensive - this was affordable, elegant, and delicious. A real treat.

The building is old, the building is beautiful. Wonderfully decorated and clean! The restaurant was spacious and there was pegs to put our jackets on. Table was huge and more than enough for the group of 6 we had. Service was prompt. The food was so so so so good! It was fantastic! Only gripe I will make is that when giving the steaks out. The server said Medium Rare, I repeated, he said medium rare again. I said the medium rare was mine. I was under the impression that my food was cooked too long, which didn't matter all too much because the flavour was really good. However it turned out another person in the group had my steak. Which I could see was cooked perfectly. I was very jealous and certainly would have preferred being served this one. The deserts also were very tasty and nice. I would definitely come back here!

Despite having a vegetarian tea menu online it is not available in the restaurant. When we requested the vegetarian menu we were told it is not available and we would not be accommodated, and then basically asked to leave. Cannot recommend this place at all. Deplorable service.

It was out first experience with an afternoon tea and it was perfect. Tea selection was great and we loved the food, especially the the savouries.

I made reservation for traditional high tea, but couldn’t have it, cause of reserving too late. Staff recommended me to have lunch or snack at bar. Foods were nice!

The restaurant was quiet, bright and airy, a real peaceful escape from the hustle of the city. We were served by Alejandro who was so polite and efficient. The food we had was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend says it's the best fish dish he's ever had! (He had the sea bass.) The raviolo I had was amazing as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the awesome views. Keep up the good work and thank you very much to Alejandro, other waiting staff, the chefs and front of house. Truly a gem in the city!

Horrible bad treatment since we waited more than 45 minutes and with the drink on the table they told us that their kitchen was saturated and they couldn't serve us and as a favor they didn't charge us for the drink. As I said, it is a disgraceful bad experience and not at all recommended.

Fantastic fish and wonderful atmosphere and service but the cocktails were limited and the Mac n cheese side dish was awful, no flavour. Wonderful otherwise, lovely anniversary dinner

Second time we’ve been here and again the food was excellent, the staff were friendly and readily available, the only negative was the bottle of rosè we got wasn’t very nice, other than that highly recommend.

Food and atmosphere were lovely, some prices were high and we didn’t appreciate the service charge but none the less we thoroughly enjoyed the experience we just wished that tipping was fully optional as otherwise we would actually tip.

We had a very enjoyable evening at Twenty Princes Street. The staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. My only criticism is that I am allergic to Shellfish and both fish dishes on the menu had shellfish included in them. I was therefore a bit restricted with regards to the menu.

This restaurant is located inside Indigo hotel in Edinburgh and was a wonderful find. The decor was on point and reflected the heritage of Scotland. It was well laid out and the window tables had a nice view of parts of Edinburgh. Our three course meal was one of the best we’ve had in a while. Couldn’t complain about anything.

Great experience from start to finish!

Had a lovely 3 course meal here which we were very happy with. Food was delicious and very well presented. I found the food prices quite fair for the quality, but did think drinks were a bit overpriced- £42 for a bottle of Prosecco I feel is pretty steep compared to many restaurants! Service was good although a little on the slow side. When booking, the restaurant states for a table of 4 you are given 2 hours. We were just getting to dessert after 2 hours, but we weren’t made to feel rushed at all. We found it a little odd that having ordered the breads for the table, they arrived at the same time as the starters, instead of the usual case where they’re brought quickly to have whilst waiting for starters. So we ended up eating bread after our starters. Perhaps just a little error in timing at that point. Waiting staff were friendly and informative. I had written a note on our booking that we were celebrating a special big birthday so if there was anything that could be done to help make it special (eg a nice view) it would be appreciated. Our waiter apologised at the start that unfortunately the tables at the windows were booked for a long time so it wasn’t possible which was fair enough and I appreciated him acknowledging it. Maybe a little happy birthday message on the birthday boys dessert or something else to mark it might have been nice but it wasn’t too big a deal. Overall very happy with our evening and would book again.

My husband and I ordered the lobster seafood dish. There was no lobster in my husbands dish . I had a small amount of lobster. We originally ordered from the Al a carte menu but were advised by the waitress we could order the same on the table dote menu having said it was the same. When we ordered our sweet my sweet was missing the ice cream which the waitress said was because I paid extra £5.00 for it on the table dote menu but it didn’t come with I cream . I felt this was a very cheap skate thing to do considering I paid another £5.00 to have the sweet !!! Overall that was a real mistake as the sweet really needed the ice cream it was not good without it ! Spoiled everything !!! Such a shame

20Princes St is in the Indigo Hotel. The restaurant has better soundproofing from street noise than the hotel has. This was recommended to us. We found the food fine, but several of the appetizers that we tried, didn’t appeal to us. The food was fine and reasonably priced- on the high end- but the service was awful. Go have a drink in the bar- lots of interesting combinations and cute menu there.

A really lovely evening at Twenty, we went on a Saturday and there was good atmosphere yet calmness. The wait staff was so fantastic and really looked after us. We can't wait to return with more members of our families next time.

It was the first time we called room service, and the price was cheaper than expected (I think it’s not much different from nearby restaurants, after all, you don’t have to go out). We ordered chicken breast and seafood, which were quite delicious! ! ! The chicken breast can actually taste smokey, it’s so delicious For dessert, I ordered pudding and hot chocolate cake. I highly recommend the chocolate cake, it is very delicious! ! ! A must! ! !

Food was nice but the service is just so slow and both of my friends felt they were being neglected. No one come check on us to see if we needed drinks after seated, we gave order of all drinks and food after getting the attention of the waiter ourselves, food took a long time to arrive and no one come and check and ask how’s the food after they’ve been served. In the end, none of us manage to get the attention of the waiting staff so we had to just get up and walked to the reception and pay ourselves. Fairly disappointed given it’s such a nice restaurant on the review and look.

Very enjoyable lunch here and only managed two courses. Mushrooms to start and very delicious sea bass for main. Good selection of cocktails and wines. Good service and nice ambience. Highly recommend.

We had a delicious afternoon tea. It was beautifully presented and good value with plenty for everyone and catered for all dietary requirements. It’s a lovely location with great views. Excellent customer service.
