Such a disappointing experiencing. My seafood orzo was tasty but my friend's pork belly was cold. Politely sent it back and when it came back the pork was hot but the potatoes were cold. No-one checked on us, we sat with finished plates in front of us for around 20 minutes and overall the service was non-existent. The staff were then whispering about us when we asked to have the 12% service charge removed from the bill. I can't remember the last time I did not tip but I honestly can't remember ever experiencing such poor service.

We thoroughly enjoyed Afternoon Teat at Twenty Princes. The service was outstanding. Beautiful restaurant, not too loud. A pleasant, busy, late lunch crowd of varying ages. Lots of tea options (or coffee), and we each tried two. Nibbles and scones were delicious. Several local teas are rather expensive - this was affordable, elegant, and delicious. A real treat.

The building is old, the building is beautiful. Wonderfully decorated and clean! The restaurant was spacious and there was pegs to put our jackets on. Table was huge and more than enough for the group of 6 we had. Service was prompt. The food was so so so so good! It was fantastic! Only gripe I will make is that when giving the steaks out. The server said Medium Rare, I repeated, he said medium rare again. I said the medium rare was mine. I was under the impression that my food was cooked too long, which didn't matter all too much because the flavour was really good. However it turned out another person in the group had my steak. Which I could see was cooked perfectly. I was very jealous and certainly would have preferred being served this one. The deserts also were very tasty and nice. I would definitely come back here!

Despite having a vegetarian tea menu online it is not available in the restaurant. When we requested the vegetarian menu we were told it is not available and we would not be accommodated, and then basically asked to leave. Cannot recommend this place at all. Deplorable service.

It was out first experience with an afternoon tea and it was perfect. Tea selection was great and we loved the food, especially the the savouries.

I made reservation for traditional high tea, but couldn’t have it, cause of reserving too late. Staff recommended me to have lunch or snack at bar. Foods were nice!

The restaurant was quiet, bright and airy, a real peaceful escape from the hustle of the city. We were served by Alejandro who was so polite and efficient. The food we had was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend says it's the best fish dish he's ever had! (He had the sea bass.) The raviolo I had was amazing as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the awesome views. Keep up the good work and thank you very much to Alejandro, other waiting staff, the chefs and front of house. Truly a gem in the city!

Horrible bad treatment since we waited more than 45 minutes and with the drink on the table they told us that their kitchen was saturated and they couldn't serve us and as a favor they didn't charge us for the drink. As I said, it is a disgraceful bad experience and not at all recommended.

Second time we’ve been here and again the food was excellent, the staff were friendly and readily available, the only negative was the bottle of rosè we got wasn’t very nice, other than that highly recommend.

We had a very enjoyable evening at Twenty Princes Street. The staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. My only criticism is that I am allergic to Shellfish and both fish dishes on the menu had shellfish included in them. I was therefore a bit restricted with regards to the menu.

Food and atmosphere were lovely, some prices were high and we didn’t appreciate the service charge but none the less we thoroughly enjoyed the experience we just wished that tipping was fully optional as otherwise we would actually tip.

This restaurant is located inside Indigo hotel in Edinburgh and was a wonderful find. The decor was on point and reflected the heritage of Scotland. It was well laid out and the window tables had a nice view of parts of Edinburgh. Our three course meal was one of the best we’ve had in a while. Couldn’t complain about anything.

Absolutely beautiful in every way. Food, service, decor, views. What a classy, but friendly place. Exceptional.

Yesterday I went to dinner to celebrate my birthday and we had a good evening. The service was very good and the food delicious.

Had a lovely 3 course meal here which we were very happy with. Food was delicious and very well presented. I found the food prices quite fair for the quality, but did think drinks were a bit overpriced- £42 for a bottle of Prosecco I feel is pretty steep compared to many restaurants! Service was good although a little on the slow side. When booking, the restaurant states for a table of 4 you are given 2 hours. We were just getting to dessert after 2 hours, but we weren’t made to feel rushed at all. We found it a little odd that having ordered the breads for the table, they arrived at the same time as the starters, instead of the usual case where they’re brought quickly to have whilst waiting for starters. So we ended up eating bread after our starters. Perhaps just a little error in timing at that point. Waiting staff were friendly and informative. I had written a note on our booking that we were celebrating a special big birthday so if there was anything that could be done to help make it special (eg a nice view) it would be appreciated. Our waiter apologised at the start that unfortunately the tables at the windows were booked for a long time so it wasn’t possible which was fair enough and I appreciated him acknowledging it. Maybe a little happy birthday message on the birthday boys dessert or something else to mark it might have been nice but it wasn’t too big a deal. Overall very happy with our evening and would book again.

We really enjoyed our visit to Twenty. The food was delicious. We would definitely return. I recommend it.

Great experience from start to finish!

My husband and I ordered the lobster seafood dish. There was no lobster in my husbands dish . I had a small amount of lobster. We originally ordered from the Al a carte menu but were advised by the waitress we could order the same on the table dote menu having said it was the same. When we ordered our sweet my sweet was missing the ice cream which the waitress said was because I paid extra £5.00 for it on the table dote menu but it didn’t come with I cream . I felt this was a very cheap skate thing to do considering I paid another £5.00 to have the sweet !!! Overall that was a real mistake as the sweet really needed the ice cream it was not good without it ! Spoiled everything !!! Such a shame

20Princes St is in the Indigo Hotel. The restaurant has better soundproofing from street noise than the hotel has. This was recommended to us. We found the food fine, but several of the appetizers that we tried, didn’t appeal to us. The food was fine and reasonably priced- on the high end- but the service was awful. Go have a drink in the bar- lots of interesting combinations and cute menu there.

Was there to meet friends and we had a lovely time. Food and service were perfect.

A really lovely evening at Twenty, we went on a Saturday and there was good atmosphere yet calmness. The wait staff was so fantastic and really looked after us. We can't wait to return with more members of our families next time.

Fabulous meal, great value and lovely staff

We had a lovely dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The food was amazing, and the servers great. They even brought out a special dessert with Happy anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. It was a wonderful celebration

It was the first time we called room service, and the price was cheaper than expected (I think it’s not much different from nearby restaurants, after all, you don’t have to go out). We ordered chicken breast and seafood, which were quite delicious! ! ! The chicken breast can actually taste smokey, it’s so delicious For dessert, I ordered pudding and hot chocolate cake. I highly recommend the chocolate cake, it is very delicious! ! ! A must! ! !

Food was nice but the service is just so slow and both of my friends felt they were being neglected. No one come check on us to see if we needed drinks after seated, we gave order of all drinks and food after getting the attention of the waiter ourselves, food took a long time to arrive and no one come and check and ask how’s the food after they’ve been served. In the end, none of us manage to get the attention of the waiting staff so we had to just get up and walked to the reception and pay ourselves. Fairly disappointed given it’s such a nice restaurant on the review and look.

Very enjoyable lunch here and only managed two courses. Mushrooms to start and very delicious sea bass for main. Good selection of cocktails and wines. Good service and nice ambience. Highly recommend.

Gorgeous interior, big circular tables booth-style - perfect for conversations. Lovely food and drinks. Prices are a bit more but worth it for special occasions. Need to return to try out the 2 courses for £20 which isn’t valid on Saturdays.

The food was OK but the service was excellent, The Scallops were good but lacked flavor. The sea bass was good but also needed more flavor. The cod was delicious and flavourful. the sides were all very good!

We did not have a booking but were given a beautiful window table. Loved the food. Had few beers. My experience was elevated by the wonderful friendly professional staff, from the man who gave us our table to the waiter, and waitress who served us. Really good food and efficient service. Hidden away on first floor of hotel - not well advertised from Princes Street otherwise I would expect it to be much busier. Not the cheapest but very good value for money. Would recommend.

Superb view, real scottish food, staff a little too busy

Good location, fantastic food, waiter was very attentive. We had the ribeye steak and it was excellent. Wine a little expensive, but to be expected when in a restaurant. Service charge was also on high side and should always be optional.

Really lovely meal, Jenny was great and went above and beyond to move us to the window table. Was really appreciated, such a great view for our family that were visiting. Food was lovely, everyone enjoyed their meal. Would definitely recommend and return.

Lovely situated restaurant with large windows overlooking Princess St . Tables were nice and comfortable well positioned to give privacy and comfort. We were greeted and shown to our table , offered drinks and given menus and shown specials. Food was excellent. Lovely variety to choose. Enjoyed our visit and will definitely recommend this restaurant. More for adults than kids.

We stayed at Hotel Indigo for 2 nights, and ate dinner there the first night and breakfast 2 mornings. Both the food and the staff at the restaurant was wonderful (breakfast was not included in our room charge). The restaurant was very pretty with nice views towards Princes Street.

Love this place and the afternoon was exceptional, price very reasonable too. We loved the unusual selection of toasties, beef pasty, etc. The chef even accommodated my shellfish allergy with a salmon crumpet. The Spanish waiter/manager (not sure) has the best manner and humour that made our visit even more enjoyable. Thank you! 🤩

Set in a sensitively modernised "Grand Old Room", Twenty feels spacious and airy when you enter. Tables are well spaced with no sense of being crowded with other diners. As we were dining early we were fortunate to occupy one of two Bay Window tables, with a spectacular view of Old Town across Princess Street and the gardens - it's a great setting. Service was polished, friendly, prompt, and discreet - in other words perfect. I started with Duck Confit on a pancake, my wife had the Chicken Caesar salad; both were excellent. I followed with Lamb Rump, my wife with Raviolo - again both were first class. Lamb was perfectly cooked, a generous portion and very tender. It was accompanied by fresh vegetables and a lovely sauce. This is comfortable elegant rather than stuffy formal, with an emphasis on high quality, locally sourced ingredients that are well prepared by a kitchen at the top of their game. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and left determined to return.

My wife and I went to Scotland for an organized tour. One week ago we arrived in Edinburgh and based on the positive revues, we haven chosen the twenty princess Restaurant. Immediately very nice impression: Very elegant, very clean and very friendly staff. The food was delicious and the price was ok. The most important point was the friendly and polite approach of the staff and in particular i would like to thank Mr. Alejandro and his supervisor Mr. Danilo. After one week we came back to Edinburgh and my wife pretended to come back because she was tired of the other cuisine and she wanted to have a very nice dinner before our departure. Again place is gorgeous, cuisin was super, price was ok but the service was super especially thank the marvelous approach of Danilo and Alejandro. I recommend to restaurant to everyone, especially to Italian that are very demanding i. Term of service and cuisine.

Twenty Princes used to be our favorite restaurant in Edinburgh… but Oh how the mighty have fallen! On May 26, 2024 we booked a party of three at Twenty Princes for our last evening in Edinburgh expecting the same wonderful meal and service we had experienced there before. Instead, it was the worst dining experience we’ve even had. Although it was 7:00 pm on a Sunday evening and only three tables were occupied, service was excruciatingly slow. We ordered drinks, but there was an immediate problem, which should have warned us of what lay ahead. My Sister-in-Law, who has owned a restaurant herself, ALWAYS orders Bombay Sapphire Gin with Roses lime juice on the side, so she can mix it precisely as she likes it. She knows her Bombay Sapphire, and what they brought her was definitely not it! She was assured that it was, but she refused it and the waiter finally came back with a bottle of Bombay on a tray and poured her a new glass. She tasted it and confirmed that it was. The waited apologized for the mix up. After a long wait, we finally ordered dinner. I ordered the Ribeye and both ladies ordered seafood platters. One of them asked for an exception and a few more shrimp instead. Then another long, long wait. While we waited, a family of six came in with two small children; a baby and another child perhaps 2 years old. They sat nearby and had two or three servers attending to them. We concluded that they must have been either someone special or perhaps the owner’s family, since they were clearly receiving special attention. Indeed, they were in and out well before we ever got our meals. Which brings us to the meal. The two seafood platters were “incredibly light.” Not only were they light in content, but the shrimp on them were remarkably small, like you might expect in a typical buffet line. Also, the platter that was ordered with an exception had no shrimp added to replace it. Mind you, these were not inexpensive platters, anyone would have expected much better. Now,
