Very good tea, cake and a lovely atmosphere

good coffee and great cakes! a few vegan options. the coffee was really hot which was nice because it was raining (as it often does in Edinburgh :) ). the carrot cake was amazing !

Coffee always great here… love to sit in the window seat with a latte and a book or my laptop, surrounded by plants and fairy lights and Edinburgh rain. The coffee is reliably tasty, so worth the slightly expensive price - and the staff are always so friendly 💝

I went on the morning of the Easter holiday. The large scones with jam and butter were delicious. When I ordered tea, I was glad that it came with a bottle of hot water and milk. It was a wonderful cafe that I would like to go to again ☕

they don’t share wifi password anymore which is a shame bc it used to be my favourite cafe to study at bc of the drinks and atmosphere :/ quite expensive for a not so great latte as well

I’m a coffee enthusiast, eager to try a Cortado. I ordered one for myself and a cappuccino for my bf. This place caters to those who enjoy robust coffee; both our selections were pleasantly strong. While I typically prefer milder brews, I found them enjoyable. Additionally, their raspberry white chocolate pastry was the highlight. It was perfectly balanced sweetness, not overwhelming but certainly not lacking. I really loved the pastry and the ambience which was the best.

The best vibes sort of cafe going. A lovey place for coffee and a cake, friendly staff, and such a cute location! Have been multiple times and cakes are always incredible. Loads of vegan options too! (Also a lovely tea selection)

We came to this place for breakfast, attracted by excellent reviews and the advice of a friend. We order: two oat cappuccinos, a grill cheese sandwich and a slice of cake. We spend €25, and we are already very perplexed. We sit down and we receive two small, shallow cups without a saucer (where do I place the spoon????). Having paid €5 per cappuccino, I expected something perfect. Instead it was quite poor. The cake was good, but unfortunately it was taken and served with hands (note: the waiter who served it immediately afterwards was scaccolando). Very good grilled cheese. Useless and quite slow service (even though there were literally 3 of us)

Great coffee and tons of seating for people. I went 9am Saturday so was basically empty.

loved the vibe in here. Great background music, loads of jungly plants, rustic wood and painted surfaces, big slabs of brownie and thickly iced cakes. Was very busy but not overcrowded, which is always a good sign. The service was really warm, and the coffee was exquisite - smooth, rich, creamy, the perfect temperature and with the added plus of beautifully unusual latte art. Will definitely be studying here again 😎

What a hidden treasure! It's the best little cafe in Edinburgh by far. Well worth tracking down and enjoying a warm welcome and a fresh, tasty treat. We had the butternut squash and sunblessed tomato soup (yummy) and a toasted cheese sandwich. We also had a slice of the best, most delicious cake. And the staff were all excellent t - really helpful and friendly. I will definitely be going back soon.

Extremely cosy cafe with amazing atmosphere. If you ask for a tea, you get a termo with extra hot water! And really nice staff. Wish it would be open after work.

I had an unfortunate recent experience here where I was treated with a hugely unwelcoming nature by one of the staff members. A shame because it is a nice space, but I am definitely deterred from wanting to go back. Will look for a coffee shop that treats their customers with a bit more kindness.

Came in today for the first time with my partner and had such a lovely experience. They didn't have vanilla syrup at the time so they recommended me a caramel mocha and it was so so good, as were the brownies we had. It was very busy and the staff were still very fast and friendly. Wish I was staying in Edinburgh longer so I could come more often :)

I love you guys but bring back the jamarettis! They were my go-to sweet treat for days when I was kidding myself they were helping keep my protein levels up while treating myself... Plus they were delicious and my whole family agree! The coconut macaroons are nowhere near as good! Also make sure you put enough tea in the teabags.... Had a couple weak teas recently

The treats are nice, but the toilet is in a bad condition and they burnt my milk. Maybe just good for take away. Also they were rude to a friend of mine. Big shame as the atmosphere is nice.

Ordered a build your own cake and was very disappointed. I ordered fully iced, and got a naked cake. Because of this, more than half of the filling was icing. I paid for an extra filling and it was extremely little. The sponge was dry. Disaster cake. Also, when picking up the cake from Lovecrumbs the staff was quite unfriendly. I've been a customer for years and that is why I'm leaving a 3 star review. Unfortunately, due to this experience I probably won't be buying again.

I was working around the corner from this place so popped in a couple of times for coffee and couldn't resist the treats. The cookies with rye and dark chocolate are lovely, and this morning I had the most delicious squishy cinnamon bun. It's a nice place to sit, but takeaway is quick too.

Extremely friendly service with amazing cappuccino. Have traveled to three different countries on our trip so far and by far the best cappuccino I have drank. Wife states iced latte is also the best. Pastries and cakes fresh and scrumptious! Will be coming here rest of our trip!

Disappointing. Had to wait an awkward few mins at the counter while staff busied themselves with no acknowledgement. Never got to taste the food as they don't cater for gf - the reason given was contamination - bizarre excuse nowadays. Most places provide gf options- if you can't cope with contamination then why not buy in prepacked treats? Plenty much smaller places manage. It's embarrassing when there isn't even a gf plant milk on offer - our whole party had to walk out Thankfully we found L'Etoile just down the road which managed a FANTASTIC selection of gf and non gf delicacies!

The vegan cinnamon bun was outrageously good!! It was huge, perfectly moist and sweet and cinnamony and i’d go back to Edinburgh just for it!

Stumbled in to here to give our feet and after seeing the cute window. We were luckily seated at one of the last tables and it was a busy Saturday afternoon. Staff were excellent and the decor was pretty. Oh yes, and the raspberry rose cake was delicious, aswell as the almond biscuit; such a nice chewy texture. Was impressed the waitress knew the soy free options without checking!

Excellent coffee and pastry shop. The most delicious vegan cinnamon bun I've ever had. Laptops during the week are okay and they have cute little gifts and jams and stuff for sale in the corner.

Went here today around 2.30pm. Got served by a lady who saw me wait for 10 mins but didn’t even acknowledge my presence. There wasn’t a queue or anything. Even when she served me , the service was cold and dreadful. She cut me the smallest slice of cake despite charging me nearly £5 for a slice. Coffee and taste of the cake was good! I use to love this place but the service , price increases whilst reductions in portions of cakes is a big turn off !

Really disappointed with my latest visit. I bought 2 slices of cake for take away and the sponge on both of the slices were not fresh. The sponges were both hard and dry. For a cafe that specialises in selling cake I would expect so much more, and I’m sure it used to be better. Both slices had to go in the bin.

Fun laid back vibe. We love the cakes, there are always new and interesting flavours. Great visit in the centre of town near the castle

I visited Love Crumbs at least 3 times while I was in Edinburgh. It is such a cute cafe and the staff are great, the cakes are also delicious!

The cafe had a great atmosphere, it had a great selection of tasty snacks and sweet treats, as well as hot and cold drinks made with coffee from local coffee roasters. The staff were super friendly as well - highly recommend for a small breakfast, coffee, or afternoon snack!

Decent cookie/cake and ok coffee, but really nothing special. Would have been ok but the service was slow and staff sadly a bit rude. It's ok but compared to some of the amazing options around the city it feels well behind the times.

Just happened to come across 'Lovecrumbs' en route to the Grassmarket. It'll be a regular from now on. The range of savoury and sweet foods are lovely. Some things a little different. I love the fact that with the tea, they serve it in a cup, with the tea bag, but also with a flask of hot water so you can continue to have hot tea as opposed to it going tepid as it would normally do. Brilliant idea. Staff also really friendly.

I went to Love Crumbs today but was disappointed to find they had no high chairs so could not sit in. Really disappointing.

I was so excited after a freezing cold day walking the city, to tuck into Lovecrumbs and enjoy a slice of Vegan Lemon Poppy seed cake and an oat latte. Really nice place to stop for coffee and cake. They had a good selection of vegan cakes to try too. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the selection of savoury food available, but this could have been because it was a busy day. Good* Nice decor, great selection of cakes, plenty staff, great location (West Port), independent business, fab social media, USB charging points. Bad* Windows steamed up, dirty shopfront, high barstools are unpadded & uncomfortable..... BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY....* Very poor customer service - Staff ignore you if not in service area. No sign to indicate service area. After waiting 5 minutes & then asking where we could be served, had to walk 40 centimetres to the correct area!!!! NB, you should wait by the till, not by the cakes!!! Then served by a waitress with a terrible attitude- cold, unfriendly, unhelpful, short. Then, another wait for cakes & drinks to be brought to table, while staff folded napkins behind the bar. Dirty plates remained on our table, so we brought them to the bar ourselves. * Below average cake - Vegan pear & hazelnut cake- quite dry & boring & not much flavour. I didn’t finish it. *I thought this cafe’s USP was mouthwatering cakes???

Love crumbs is an excellent ambience with stunning produce. Usually gets extremely busy so I find it’s best to go before half eleven or after haft two ish to nap a table! Friendly staff and always efficient. Can’t go wrong with a cake from here either - also the new vegan cinnamon buns - YUM!

We have been travelling through Europe for 4 weeks and we have finally found the best coffee here at Lovecrumbs. We stumbled upon this cafe after wasting money on coffee from a cafe (Coffee Mill) across the road. I’m glad their coffee was so bad because we found this amazing place. Cakes and food great also and options for vegans. Do yourself a favour and don’t waste time looking elsewhere.

Estábamos buscando un lugar para un brunch que no formara parte de una gran cadena y encontramos Lovecrumbs mientras paseábamos por Edimburgo. No podía ver el interior desde la calle, pero me alegro de haber decidido entrar. Pedimos tostadas y estaban deliciosas. Ambiente agradable y el lugar es obviamente popular.

Una vera chicca nello splendido quartiere di Stockbridge, questa micro thé pasticceria offre torte davvero buone e un vasto assortimento di thé. Davvero consigliato

Hemos estado en los dos cafés de Lovecrumbs: junto al café original en West Port también hay un café en la calle Stephens Street. Los pasteles son excelentes y siempre tienen un sabor interesante. El té se sirve en tazas con un matraz de agua caliente para rellenarlo. La cafetería West Port es más bulliciosa y estudiantil, mientras que la cafetería Stockbridge es muy relajante y tranquila. Podrías pasar fácilmente algunas horas en este último. El personal siempre es amable y servicial.

Although they advertise dairy free cake there was none when we visited. Disappointed after walking all the way to get there. Shameful false advertising!!

I’ve been to lovecrumbs a few times now and have never been disappointed with the food, and certainly not the coffee - it’s delicious.

What a lovely, bustling , friendly cafe with the best selection of cakes I’ve ever seen. They also do a small range of savoury items and we shared a grilled cheese and mustard sandwich, and mashed chilli pea and seeds on seeded bread. They were both super tasty and filling although we did leave room for cake. Chocolate and peanut butter cake and a slice of vanilla and blueberry. Lovely coffee too, served with a smile and a bit of chat. Good background music added to the atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back for a return visit.

This is about the smallest cafe I have visited but it is quite quirky. The service was very good and although the selection of cakes was limited the quality was first class.

Stopped for a coffee and a treat. We weren't disappointed. They have amazing drinks and even more amazing baked goods.

We went here for a lunch after reading many good reviews of the place. When we were at the counter to order the staff didn't seem interested in helping us taking our order, and when we asked any questions the woman at the counter seemed annoyed and came with rather rude replies. Go here for a fancy piece of cake, but if you want good service - go somewhere else.

My partner and I returned here after on a return trip to Edinburgh. We really enjoyed the coffee, toasties and cake. The staff seem like they enjoy working there which really adds to the spirit of the place.
