Very nice place, the Haggis with Whiskey sauce are very delicious, they are worth it, the Fish an Chips are delicious and that never disappoints, but if you want to eat Haggies this is the place, very comfortable atmosphere to have a beer and a Whiskey.

Get experience, wonderfully crafted old fashion, large portion of delicious bruschetta and really good smoked salmon bites. Cool vibes, friendly staff, a definite must try.

We had the best experience tonight. It was our last night in town and our friend recommended this restaurant. It did not disappoint. Not only was the Haggis (princess Diana) dish amazing but more so the service by Lucas was inpeccable! He was so kind and made our dining experience so special! Super grateful to have had the opportunity to eat here and try Haggis for the first time. Cheers!

We mainly came here for a whisky tasting, as some of the other options nearby either weren't open or seemed full. We were glad we did. They have several flights available of six different whiskys or you can get a selection from the numerous whiskys they have if you don't want that many or want to pay less. The service from both people there was friendly and they were excellent at explaining a bit to us in addition to the notes on the whisky list. We had some light food with it and it was also good although we did not have a full meal. As mentioned the service was excellent. By the time we left, I think it was quiet time in mid afternoon and a new person was minding it who seemed less engaged (but fine). Perhaps those who experienced less attention than us may have been unlucky in that way? Anyway we enjoyed the experience!

First time tasting haggis and really enjoyed it. Had some spiciness to it and the whiskey souce was especially tasty. Fast and polite service. Interesting beer assortment.

One of the most coziest places you can find , thr food was very tasty , here we had our 1st experience with Haggis and it was more than we could have hoped for. Also the english tea is a must try for any tea lovers , for its flavour and to complete the culinary experience!

Unfortunately we arrived with a very good recommendation of the place but a terrible experience. The service is totally poor, the waiter was serving nine tables and the bar at the same time, so it was impossible for him to have control of everything, it took him more than 15 minutes to even come to take our drink order, not to mention Later on the food, the guy seemed disastrous, a little fed up so he didn't serve us very willingly, the drinks were terrible; soft drink and flat beer, the food was not bad at all in the end, however we are invited NOT to return and NOT to recommend this place, the service is always an invitation to return which unfortunately in this case was not present.

Expected more from the "famous" haggis and Arcade. Haggis was sticky and neeps was hardly there, fish was slightly overcooked, chips undercooked, beer was flat, music was generic pop and too loud.

Very well located place and very good atmosphere. The haggis was excellent but a little pricey. To have 5 stars the waiters would have to smile and be more welcoming...

Good haggis, the friendly waitress, however the manager was deplorable with the other customers. The atmosphere is not great and no heating, a shame for the month of September.

The haggis and service were both great!

Mediocre haggis, I've had better. There is no Wi-Fi and they do not accept cash. Furthermore, I paid more than the price of the dishes displayed on the menu.

They have Schweppes Slimline! It's actually hard to find considering it's the only sugarfree tonic, so I was so happy that's what they use. Also, the haggis was great and the staff was lovely!

Charming personnel. Incredible food. We tried haggis and fish&chips. Both dishes were very good. I didn't like the interior though, so I am taking 1 star down for atmosphere.

Polish service, great Huggis, best whiskey selection in town

We ordered basic and fancy whisky tour. each has 6 different type of region whisky. They just bring your drinks to your table and left short explanation menu.

First time in Edinburgh and a random google search made me come here and what a great decision it turned out ti be. Fantastic food, fantastic drinks and the best part was Ola and Sebastian such great hosts and made us feel really welcome

Food and service was decent enough. Was mainly annoyed that we were asked to add a tip despite service already being included on the bill. When we questioned this we were told the service on the bill went straight to the company and kitchen and we needed to tip again if we wanted the servers to receive anything. Service charge should be there to reward good service, not to further line the pockets of the owners!

Fantastic food, great haggis, all food served well flavoured. We really enjoyed our food here, service also good and it was very busy.

Located just off the Royal Mile this lovely corner pub with great atmosphere is a Haggis & whiskey bar. Tried the”Best Haggis in Edinburgh” with the whiskey sauce. It was amazing & delicious with the right portions of neets & tats with the haggis. The whiskey sauce is luxurious. Great meal

En general nos gustó el local, pero no por igual la comida: el hagis bueno, una beterrada correcta y el snack de salmón ahumado escaso para el precio. El postre q pedimos fue el plato de quesos escoceses muy caro para literalmente 3 trozos de queso y ninguno merecen mención especial.

Went there last night, really excited about having some haggis whilst on a short work visit to Edinburgh! I have to say that unfortunately the experience was ruined by the lady waiter working upstairs. Terrible attitude, her energy was completely off. On top of that she kept smashing, banging stuff really loudly behind the bar next to the dining guests which basically just added to the charged atmosphere she managed to create. The haggis was good to be fair, but the service plays an integral part of the experience and this was hands down the worse service I had in a while.

Delicious haggis and nice atmosphere to sit in. But you have to be really hungry for the haggis portion. Beer (ale) is also very drinkable. The male waiter was nice and the haggis was served within minutes. Only the blonde lady in the service/counter was a bit taciturn and not very customer-oriented, unfortunately.

We are so lucky that there was a table for us when we walked in. Our waiter Sebastian really made us feel welcome and comfortable, and were delighted to guide us through the meny. Food was both well presented and delicious, and there was never a lack of a drink. A hearty experience we will not forget!

Not sure if it’s the best haggis as they claim but it was clearly a great one! We had a lovely dinner with some whiskeys. Definitely worth it.

Rude waiter and decent food...will not be returning

1st day in Scotland. Google search for “best Haggies” and hey, we’ll give it a try. Honestly, it was excellent! What's more, the waitress and waiter are smiling and friendly. I recommend with your eyes closed. (NB: and since we went there for the Haggies, I won't talk about the choice between more than 90 whiskeys!!!)

I absolutely loved the charm of this place! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. I tried haggis for the first time, and it was delicious—definitely exceeded my expectations. Even though a reservation is usually required, we were lucky to get a table right away. After discussing our general preferences, the waiter recommended a whiskey, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Overall, a wonderful experience with great food, drinks, and service!

I visited the restaurant because it presented itself as traditional Scottish, but I was disappointed with the food. The taste didn't appeal to me and may not be what you expect if you're looking for an authentic Scottish experience. The staff were attentive, but the price is high for what they offer. Although the portions are generous, the quality and flavor leave something to be desired. Maybe not the best choice for those looking for a traditional meal.

I just had a frustrating experience at this place yesterday. It may have been bad luck, as one member of staff seemed "not in it", and one was extremely rude. First, a man with an American/Canadian accent greeted me and, despite being a bit over-the-top, seemed nice. I ordered haggis nachos to go, and a coffee to drink in. He told me to grab a table. He was about to charge me for both (implying he would serve me the coffee and nachos), but he was "summoned" to the kitchen, so off he went. Meanwhile, I sat at a two-seater table with my things. Another staff member rudely told me to move to the bar because I was only going to drink coffee, and my food was for take away so I can't seat on the table even though there were plenty of available tables. Annoyed, picked up my stuff on the floor and I moved. The American guy returned with my nachos and asked if I still wanted the coffee, even though he was supposed to make it earlier and I patiently waited for it whilst he went to the kitchen, and I moved to the bar after sitting comfortably at a table, only to be asked if I still wanted the coffee. There was so much back and forth about whether he could make my coffee. So much unnecessary hassle! When I’d had enough and said, 'You’re making it too complicated, so I'd leave the coffee for now, his response was, 'I could still make it for you, BUT…' I was screaming on the inside, thinking, 'Dude, just make the damn coffee already!' But I politely said, 'Nevermind.' But then, to OUR surprise there was a coffee already sitting coldly in the corner that was supposed to be for me made by the other staff but forgot to give it to me because he was so busy asking me to move. I could have had it whilst the other staff was in the kitchen?!! Honestly, what a chaos! The American staff said he wasn’t sure if I still wanted coffee because nachos get soggy. Yes, I’m aware! I wasn’t showing the slightest doubt about whether I’d still drink coffee, even if my nachos were for takeaway. Why was he making decisions for me? He was huffing and puffing while taking my payment after I expressed how frustrating my experience was. Didn’t even hand me cutleries. I had to ask somewhere else for cutlery so I could eat on the train." I thought Anna was known to be strict in her selection process of employees.

Great looking place inside very quirky, food excellent, went in for haggis experience, definitely got that, drinks and service great to.

Four of us (a family with two children) went in at 6pm to have a drink but they sent us away, probably because it was approaching dinner time (sic!). Not very friendly. We'll try again (maybe).

Second time here, we came a year ago and had the haggis which was incredible. In town again and wanted to come again, had the fish cakes and deconstructed pie, very basic and boring and frozen vegetables? Paying premium we expect the best. I had a glass of wine that was mediocre nothing like last time. This is the place to come for the haggis and that is it. Service was luke warm and we did not feel comfortable. Sadly I would not return a third time. Good luck

We had a great time here. The food was excellent, the service exceptional, and the friendliness top-drawer. We loved it so much that we came back for a second night!

Unfortunately the food wasn't all that we'd hoped. It's ok for a filling meal, but as tasty as it could be. Also, while the old armchairs add a nice quirky touch, they are badly in need of reupholstering on the seat and extremely uncomfortable and not the best for anyone with a bad back.

The haggis was very good although a little too spicy but accompanied by 50 cl of cider, it was OK. The staff is welcoming and caring. The bill of 80 euros including tip is a little high for 2 dishes and 2 drinks. But once in a while...

A place not to be missed to taste delicious haggies! With whiskey sauce of course. It's very spicy, in mince, burgers, or with chicken! The fish cakes and Scottish salmon are also worth trying. A good address in short!

We stopped here to eat haggis. A warm welcome from the attentive staff. We bought Huggies balls and towers. The soup of the day was pepper soup, it was very delicious, but the bread with it was a little stale. The portions are quite satisfying. Stop by here.

Three of us went there, I has eaten delicious steak & ale pie. Two of them has ordered Haggis, Neeps & Tatties with whisky. The whisky sauce recipe seems not right, it was dark brown gravy, the haggis tasted not right @ pepper much disappointed 🫤

The best Haggis in the world. And they have a really nice staff with excellent service. They also made the best Glutenfree Haggis. We really enjoyed our meal. Regards from a couple from sweden

After sitting at the table, looking at the menu and choosing, they made me get up because I was also with my minor daughter. Apparently after 9pm people under 18 are not accepted.

Very rude staff and almost shutting the door in our face because we had a child with us, apparently they don’t cater for under five’s, something about a licence, but we couldn’t see anywhere where this was shown. Very pompous, you should be more inclusive for children and disabled in this day & age or at least not be so rude to patrons wanting to come in

An absolute gem of a place..staff so friendly, place clean and welcoming, great choice on the menu and the food…omg amazing. We come to Edinburgh yearly and this is always our first visit! If you are gluten free they cater for it and even do a gluten free haggis which is really good. Prices are also totally dependant on your choices of food and drink too. If you visit this beautiful city, then this is a must.

Food is always absolutely delicious and you always get filling amount for the price. Staff are so lovely and helpful and the atmosphere is so relaxing and calm. I come yearly with family and this will always be our first choice to eat at! Really strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting!!

Inconspicuous, but incredibly delicious. Great ambience and nice waiter who pointed out to us that he would also be happy to bring a children's portion for our little one. I thought Princess Diana Haggis was just crazy. My men found the regular haggis perfect and served as a tower and served as a portion was more than sufficient. We recommend.

The rating given is just for the food.The food is tasty and really good, however the host was not welcoming, not sure why. They don't bother to give a smile, just put a flat face.The service is slow, nonetheless food tasty.Now the main question, would i visit the restaurant again, probably not as there so many other resturants out there with good food and host who would make you comfortable.Hospitality is a thing!

We come here every single year from the states for Ed Fringe and it is always a hit! Best haggis in the city. Definitely get the Diana sauce.

Not only do they really serve one of the best if not the best I have eaten in years in Scotland, their hospitality and kindness is as well impeccable. After a long walk it’s the place to rest and have excellent food and service. Thanks Sebastian and your colleagues. Do not shy if it seems crowded, there is plenty of space in the first floor.

We had a delicious dinner here. We had haggis which they could make gluten free as well! It was absolutely delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. We would definitely recommend this place! The tall waiter was very polite and did absolutely not fart next to our table (for reference see an earlier review).

We been at dinner tonight. Very tasty food, interesting. We were served by a tall, stout waiter. Quite a nice guy, the only thing... he farted while serving our table... he didn't apologize - a bit tasteless... Normally I wouldn't add this opinion at all, but it's so distasteful that I have to....

The best restaurant in Edinburgh in terms of the quality of the food, the welcome and the incredible whiskey menu!! Honestly, nothing to complain about. We went there several times during our stay. The haggis is excellent, the fish and chips and the haggis burger too. Honestly, don't hesitate, come in, sit down and enjoy!!!!

The food was delicious, but the service was sometimes terrible. I've never felt as unwelcome as I did here. On the one hand, the tip was already included in the bill and then you were asked to tip again when paying with your card. The plates were not cleared, the waiters were inattentive. After I had paid, the waiter turned round without saying a word. No goodbye, nothing. As I said, you don't feel at all welcome here.

What a wonderful and cosy little restaurant! As I imagine a lot of visitors to Edinburgh do, we wanted to try haggis. So after a little Google search we found Arcade. It had a beautiful quaint atmosphere, lovely decor and the staff were great. After walking there on a rather warm evening I was fanning myself with my menu to try and cool off and the waiter noticed this so he opened the door for me to get some cool air in which was very kind. They had an enormous selection of drinks, including many many whiskeys, much to my husbands delight! For dinner I went for the haggis tower and trust me the picture does not do it justice, it's massive! But also super tasty 🤤. I opted to go without the whiskey sauce just down to personal preference. My husband had the pie which was absolutely delicious also. If you are in Edinburgh and want a cosy restaurant with delicious options, then this little gem will not disappoint.

If you want to eat haggis, this is the place for you. If you like drinking whiskey, you can try your hand at a very large selection here. Despite the fact that it says on the homepage that reservations are only accepted in exceptional cases, it is very important that reservations are made here. If you don't do this, the service will often overlook you for a while

Unrefined cuisine and above all overpriced for the quality... not to mention the tips scam at the end of the course - included in the bill and extra request (yes yes 2 tips!!) at the time of payment via credit card In short, we won't go back there.. for sure ;))
