We stopped by on a visit to Tarbert from Portavadie. It was late morning so only had some coffee & soup. Food & service were excellent - the Cullen Skink was superb. Very good range of gluten free options which we needed for 1 of our party.

We remembered this cafe from when we stayed in Tarbert a few years ago so revisited as we had really enjoyed it previously. It is a very popular venue and we were lucky to get seated in the window and ordered toasties and coffee. Both came promptly, served by the two very friendly members of staff that were doing a great job in a busy cafe. The toasties were tasty and were glad we had come back to this place. We will return when in the area next time!!

We went in for a hot drink, but I noticed that they had Cullen Skink on the menu so told my friends what it is. well, we all decided to order Cullen Skink and what a great choice. I have had cullen sking in a few restaurants and have made it myself and this one is up there with the best. Friendly staff and good portions and great hot chocolate. My friends said the coffee was very good as well. It was well worth the time out on a cold rainy day.

Real gem of a place, we visited multiple times whilst staying in the local area, greeted with friendly service and made to feel welcome, dog friendly too which was a bonus for us travelling with our dog. Lovely cafe, busy but no wonder! Staff and customers all lovely and very welcoming to our dog. Food was lovely and very reasonably priced, £3 for a filled breakfast roll (bacon/egg/sausage/potato scone and £4 for a roll with two fillings. Lots of gluten free options, I had bacon with gf toast. Bacon was lovely, decent rashers and thicker than normal. So glad we went there.

Went here for lunch with some family. Very very busy, we were told unable to reserve a table and we had to wait for a table to become available, which we didn’t mind waiting. Extensive menu, plenty to choose from. Loved the decor inside, proper cosy cafe. Food was excellent, however, some staff (not all) had a poor attitude. Completely understand stress at busy times. We felt like we were causing bother when ordering and asking for cutlery and napkins which weren’t given to us. Not very cheery or welcoming but would visit again.

I was in yesterday and loved it so much I returned today. I thought the staff handled the grumpy ignorant lorry driver who refused to wear a wask and spoke very poorly to the staff in a threatening Manor. The staff after dealing with the incident carried on being pleasant. We had breakfast rolls the first day and 5 bots of bacon on a roll is awesome. The flavour was amazing. Hubby said his square sausage was good but not steak lorne. Anyway we returned today and had a toasty and a fish and chips and omg it was tasty and filling and hubby and are fussy with service and food. The service was today amazing even when extremely busy and under pressure. Yes u may wait a wee bit but that didn't bother me. Ideal place to people watch.
