Visité este restaurante basándome en las muy buenas críticas. ¡El camarero mayor con el pelo corto fue tan grosero! Amablemente preguntamos si podíamos sentarnos en otra mesa ya que el restaurante estaba vacío, pero nos sentamos junto a la mesa del personal y otra pareja durante el covid 19. Él respondió "tienes 2 años, no 6". No nos quejamos de que queríamos una mesa más grande, solo otra mesa para estar más distanciada socialmente. Curiosamente, había 2 mujeres sentadas en una mesa para 6, así que no estoy seguro de por qué las dejó sentarse en una mesa para 6, pero no permitió este mismo tratamiento para nosotros. Le dijimos que esto no era un problema y que nos quedaríamos sentados. Luego se quejó a otro personal de que queríamos otra mesa. Amablemente nos ofreció otra mesa, pero una vez más le aseguramos que estábamos bien con el lugar donde estábamos sentados. Continuó hablándonos groseramente durante toda la noche. Pasamos 100 y pasamos menos de 40 minutos en el restaurante por lo incómodos que nos hizo sentir este camarero. La comida era decente, pero la carne de wagyu era demasiado cara y lo que sabía a carne barata, preferiría gastar más de 50 en un buen bistec en alguna parte. La anguila a la parrilla era preciosa y no se le puede poner ninguna pega. Si quieres buena comida japonesa, hay muchos buenos lugares en el área de Soho. Este restaurante no estaba lleno un sábado por la noche, pero aún así tuvimos el servicio más pésimo.

El lugar es moderno, limpio y acogedor. Un par de otras mesas estaban ocupadas durante nuestra visita, por lo que no hubo preocupaciones sobre el espaciado, etc. Esta fue nuestra primera comida en meses, la higiene era visible / disponible y no teníamos preocupaciones en ese frente. Teníamos sashimi, que aunque bien presentado no era el más fresco. Arroz frito de anguila, era unagi (anguila) servido con arroz frito de los que se encuentran en Singapur y Malasia. El ramen de mariscos estaba bastante sabroso, aunque no estoy seguro de por qué se agregó maíz dulce. Los propietarios también dirigen el C + R Cafe en el West End que sirve comida malaya, y esta sucursal W 2 recibió el mismo nombre y sirvió comida similar. ¿Quizás cambiaron el nombre a C + R Izakaya pensando que hay un mayor mercado para la comida japonesa en W 2? An Izikaya es un bar japonés que también sirve platos pequeños de comida (un paralelo son las tapas españolas); pero tampoco es eso. Así que la comida está "bien" pero la cocina parece algo confusa. Agua del grifo = sin cargo. Recargo de aproximadamente 12. 5% incluido en factura final.

No conocemos ningún restaurante japonés en Londres que ofrezca un menú de comida totalmente halal que no sea C&R Izakaya. Con un extenso menú, que incluye una gran sección de sushi, hay una variedad más que suficiente de platos de calidad para que tenga muchas opciones. Después de todo, ¿cuántos lugares ofrecen grandes y deliciosos cuencos de ramen Halal a precios muy razonables? ¡No muchos! We are locals and we love Japanese. We've walked past this restaurant many times and never gone in because it's never packed. But I looked up the reviews and they sounded fine, so we thought 'Why not?'. There's a reason no locals frequent this restaurant. The food is absolutely revolting. The chicken doesn't taste like chicken. It tasted so dodgy, we didn't touch the main course. The vegetables were overcooked and the Summer Maki rolls were so chewy, I couldn't eat them. We complained but the waitress didn't care less and didn't deduct a penny. Can honestly say have never eaten worse food in my life!

Easy access , located at the main road. Fine dine environment, good service and good food. Good for family, couple or even business treat.Good food presentation. This restaurant also a Halal food Restaurant.

This is a lovely place. We went for lunch and we realised that it looked very simple but fancy so we feel like we should go back for dinner time - it's also an excuse to go back as soon as possible. The food is incredible, even the sushi rice is the best I've ever tried and there's real wasabi! We tried both plates from the normal menu and something from the sushi menu and everything was spot on. I am in love with the agedashi tofu. I can't wait to go back!

Aunque este restaurante ha estado en el vecindario durante algunos años, mi esposa y yo finalmente decidimos probarlo para un almuerzo de fin de semana. Desde la calle, el interior es relativamente oscuro y parece un poco poco atractivo.Nos sorprendió de inmediato que en el momento en que entramos, la camarera nos dio una cálida bienvenida y el ambiente era positivo.Nos sentamos felices en una zona agradable y cómoda. Teníamos udon y maki rolls que estaban muy deliciosos Los precios eran razonables. . El servicio fue bueno en todo momento y volveremos a probar otros platos.

Los tres hemos comido en muchos restaurantes japoneses en la bahíaÁrea, Denver, Atlanta, Washington DC. Según nuestra visita, este lugar fue lo suficientemente bueno como para volver y probar algunos otros platos. El restaurante estaba bien amueblado y tranquilo, aunque el restaurante es de tamaño mediano y estaba bastante lleno de clientes. Los camareros eran agradables y rápidos.Toda la comida que tuvimos fue presentada estéticamente y sabía bien. El entrante frío de tofu estaba muy bien preparado y sazonado. . La ensalada de calamares era excelente con un toque agradable usando cilantro como ingrediente. También tuve la caballa a la parrilla que estaba preparada con piel crujiente, pero no quemada. Fue una gran parte, especialmente teniendo en cuenta el precio. La tempura udon fue excelente. La base de la sopa era tan buena como la que he probado y el udon estaba preparado en la cantidad justa. Había mucha tempura por el precio con 2 camarones y 3 verduras. El pollo teriyaki era mejor que la media y, de nuevo, una buena porción por el precio. No puedo comentar sobre el sushi ya que no teníamos ninguno.

Mi esposa y yo disfrutamos del ambiente, la comida y, en general, el servicio en este restaurante y le hubiéramos dado cuatro estrellas, si no hubiera sido por la actitud del camarero mayor, que podría haber sido el gerente / propietario. ¡La única vez que sonrió fue cuando pagué la cuenta! No podría haber sido más inútil, ¡era casi como si te estuviera haciendo un favor al servirte!

Nuestra familia cenó aquí el martes por la noche, probé el juego Natsu nigiri de 9 peces diferentes 17. 50, fue muy bueno! Mi esposa tenía la anguila Unagi Ju 18. 80 que vino en un tazón con arroz y con una salsa excelente. Y mi hija probó las vieiras a la parrilla Yaki Hotate 13. 80 para cuatro piezas, más 2 yakitori de hongo Shitake 2. Tomamos té verde con la comida.Interior muy agradable, buen servicio, tuvo una gran noche. No muy ocupado

Tanto yo como mi SO adoramos este lugar. Ambos somos entusiastas y podemos decir con la máxima confianza que este es el único restaurante en todo Londres que mantiene una calidad de comida impecable y un servicio de primer nivel. La anfitriona nos recordó con cariño de nuestras visitas anteriores y nos trató como si fuéramos su propia familia. Se lo recomendaríamos a cualquiera que tenga ganas de una excelente comida japonesa. Especialmente amo el tae - tae mae, me encuentro ansiando su bondad picante en los días más fríos.

We ordered Wagyu sushi, Ramen and Tako yaki. Sushi wasn’t good (even ITSU fast food chain serves better sushi). Ramen tasted like instant noodles with some seafood. No idea why the Ramen was recommended on some sites as London’s Best Ramen.

Looked ok at first but put off by the plastic picture menu. Service was perfunctory. The food was ok although they forgot to bring the tempura. So busy engaging with old friend that I didn't notice. A bit pricey at £85 for 2 given it wasn't a great experience.

This place is amazing! I’ve come here with my family multiple times and the food is outstanding! Paired with a friendly service this is where you want to be! What makes it even better is that it is a hidden secret, making the experience that much better!

My first visit to an actual sushi restaurant, I enjoyed it, need more expertise really, there was a wide range on offer it seemed to me, however was a pleasant experience but found it a little pricey.

Nothing was bad but nothing was truly impressive either.

Highly recommended. Delicious food nice relaxing atmosphere attentive stuff and friendly service. Was there for many take aways and today finally dined in. I am very satisfied and look forward to be back.. Thanks guys

Never ever order from this restaurant on Deliveroo. It fools it’s customer on the expected time. You have an expected time frame when you book and pay and suddenly after 5 minutes from your order they double the time they will deliver your order. Systematically. They are very unprofessional and fraudulent.

Service was horrible. The waiter didn’t even look at us or flinch when we called out for him, and when his colleagues asked him to come to us, he just showed us a hand without even looking at us. They missed out our order, but didn’t even apologise. When asked to help take a picture, he was super reluctant and just said “no flash” and didn’t want to take any more pictures and just walked away. They were all rude and gave us a lousy experience. Plus, they added a 12% surcharge on service charge, which was exceptionally unreasonable given such lousy service was provided.

Very good value Sushi / Sashimi but also a great range of other Japanese disnes - try the chilean sea bass in miso. This place is a familly favourite. The staff are very friendly and feels like an extension of home !

Izakaya is a great Japanese restaurant, but a little pricey for my budget. So I take advantage of their Lunchtime Specials from Tuesday to Friday. Great value and choice at £8.90. I had a Bento Box, which included Miso soup and sushi. I also treated myself to Tempura prawns as a starter!

The food was very good. They have some creative rolls on the menu. It all tasted very fresh. The service was attentive and friendly. It was also a nice atmosphere.

No creo que haya tenido este plato tan deliciosamente preparado antes. PD: el edamame también se cocina a la perfección y el sushi también es delicioso.

Esta es la tercera vez que visitaba Londres y la primera vez que alojarse en el barrio de C&R.; El lugar es acogedor, con un personal amable. La comida también es buena, con un precio razonable. Recomiendo encarecidamente el rollo del dragón y el Fish Grill. Yo no soy japonés, pero estoy muy orgullosa de la comida japonesa. Comer aquí me hace sentir como comer en Japón! Bravo!

Volver a la carretera después de mover Garway lejos de la zona era un momento surrealista, ya que ha cambiado mucho. Allí solía ser un restaurante malayo donde este lugar está actualmente. Tener una amplia variedad de comida era increíble de escoger y elegir.

Wir haben im Izakaya Sushi bestellt, an dem es nichts zu bemängeln gibt. Die Preise sind vollkommen in Ordnung und die Qualität vom Fisch super! In den Räumlichkeiten war es sehr dunkel durch die spärliche Beleuchtung, was einen mit der Zeit müde gemacht hat. Das Personal war äusserst zuvorkommend und freundlich, zum Teil etwas zu zuvorkommend. Die Kellnerin hat uns beim Hinsetzen sogleich die Serviette auf die Beine gelegt, was mir persönlich etwas unangenehm war, da ich meinen Personalspace brauche. Ansonsten war alles tip top!

A bayswater, uno dei più bei quartieri di Londra, trovare questo bellissimo locale dove il Giappone è veramente Giappone. Un tripudio di vero sushi, sashimi con qualità superiore. Carne pesce di ottima fattura è un bel servizio. Attenti ai prezzi, sono davvero in linea con la qualità, quindi se amate questo cibo preparatevi a un conto....interessante!

Fuimos un sábado por la noche para cenar temprano. Era muy tranquilo, pero a las 6 de la tarde se llenaba de gente a las 8 de la tarde.

Excelente comida de calidad, totalmente auténtica, menú más imaginativo de muchos restaurantes japoneses. Servicio amable y eficiente. La decoración podría haber un toque más suave (aunque eso no es muy japonés) pero hemos estado varias veces con amigos y me sentí muy cómoda charlando, tranquilos, con espacio suficiente para sentirse llena por no otros comensales o lo oyó. Muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Comida con un muy buen estándar. Sushi muy bueno y asequible, cajas de bento. Teryaki Bento box pollo en precio asequible y crujientes al punto. Muy bueno que ofrece a la hora del almuerzo. Se puede comer muy bien por 10 / 15 £. Es una excelente alternativa para comer cerca de Tokio en Notting Hill. Limpio y moderno, pero un poco impersonal.

Family, friends, couple, solo this place is perfect no matter who you go with. Food is excellent, the staff is SO NICE and you couldn't have better quality fish. But wait, it here come: of course you can't expect to eat excellent quality raw fish for a cheap price, hence, expect to spend more or less 40/45 per person (wine included) if you want to get out of the place that you're actually full. Highly recommended

The old C&R has now launched as a Japanese, but I'm afraid the food quality remains the same. Very nice decor, service is excellent. Food presentation is fantastic. Food taste isn't that great, and prices are sky high. Out of all the dishes ordered, the only thing that was actually nice were the spicy edamame beans. Portions were quite small too. I'd say 3 stars is quite generous for this place. I don't think I'd return.

Lovely atmosphere and extremely helpful and attentive staff. Everything we ordered looked beautiful and tasted even better. The wine was £28 so not bad for London and it was exceptional and complimented the food. Just wish it was local so we could go more often. Cannot recommend this place enough there really was nothing t fault. They add 12.5% service charge but we tipped extra we were that impressed.

Came early evening on a Sunday with the naughty girl who loves sushi.So this place used to be Malaysian or Thai and 4 months ago they switched to Japanese. Very nice calm relaxing environment with nice relaxed service but attentive. The menu is extensive and the quality is very high. The sashimi was super fresh with nice sized pieces! I had a super crispy salmon skin hand roll and the squid sushi was excellent!The yakitori was good but a bit too burnt. On the whole very good quality and not too expensive. Lovely place too with great ambiance with lovely cool service. A nice new local Japanese with out having to go to the cramped Maguro :)

I've been there several times for lunch and dinner. Their lunch' Bento box are fantastic value (£8-10!). Delicious. The service is great. What I appreciate the most is that they have proper Japanese chef in the kitchen and behind the fish bar. The fish is cut perfectly, the sushi rice delicious. I highly recommend this place!

We had the beef and chicken spicy ramen. Both were tasty but the beef was better than the chicken. The california maki was average though. The presentation of the food was good.

Tried this place for dinner and it was really great nice atmosphere nice and clean and the staff friendly the choices of sushi was good I had the spider maki which is soft crab tasted great and I had salmon sashimi also good and nice presentation will go back again

Food was great coupled with very nice interiors in the restaurant. Very nice place to dine in and one of the rare places in London which serves authentic Japanese food. Kudos to the team! Keep it up!

This restarurant was a clean, modern style restaurant just off the main Chinatown street. it's dishes were more leaning towards seafood but there were some chicken and pork dishes. I had Phad Thai and it was very filling, very tasty and very good quality.Good food and for central london at about £9 a dish, pretty reseanoble considering the portions.Staff were friendly and had a chat too. Card payment for over £15 was also useful, esepcially for Chinatown where that is not always the case.

This locally famous Malaysian restaurant closed for renovations and just re-opened as a Japanese Izakaya. My wife and I like Japanese food, and this place really delivered!The Japanese food is authentic. The sushi was well presented and fresh. The yakisoba was served hot with just the right flavor. Service was attentive without being overly so. We'll be back.

I live around the corner and im so happy they open this place. Im a big fan of Japanese food, and their selection of sushi/ sashimi was so delicious and fresh!! especially the spider roll!! Also the salmon sashimi served on ice is just perfect! Their Sake was divine!! The menu is great, there is a lot of choice for everyones taste. The prices are correct, the staff is very nice and efficient.Ill be back a lot!!!

Busy restaurant. Good service and good food. Their Fried Koay Teow is just about as good as you can get outside of the island of Penang. We enjoyed the food so much we went back 2 more times for dinner.

Having eaten several times at C&R and enjoyed the food on all occasions, I was looking forward to my daughter bringing a Kuew Teow home, however once opened there were only 3 prawns. At the cost of around £8 just for a plate of noodles I all i can say is "WHAT A RIPOFF" the food is supposedly cooked fresh so the chef knew exactly what he/she was putting in. Avoid the take away, maybe order to eat in and check what you've got then ask them to pack it to takeaway.

Really disappointed this is not a Malaysian restaurant anymore. Why fix something that is not broken? It was amazing before. End of an era. Too many Japanese restaurants in the area. Should've kept it as it was. Used to be my favourite restaurant in London! Very sad.

We were only there to accompany friends who missed Malaysian food. There is nothing Malaysian about this place so please, just pack your own sandwiches and head for the theatre.

My friends and I had lunch at the branch in Leicester Square earlier this week, where I ordered the Indian Mee Goreng. The dish consisted of maggi goreng noodles with beancurd, bean sprouts, fishcake and Chinese greens. In terms of the taste, it was rather bland. On the menu, the dish has a symbol of a red chili and so I assumed it would be spicy but it was not at all. Perhaps it is because I am more used to the Singapore version of Indian Mee Goreng that I was not impressed with this dish.However, I was rather impressed by how fast the dish was served after we ordered. Additionally, it came with a good amount of ingredients so the ratio of noodles to ingredients was brilliant. One of my friends had the carrot cake, which I was a lot more impressed with. It tasted delicious and the pieces of carrot cake were huge! As for my other friend, she ordered the Char Kway Teow. I found it delicious too but again, I am more used to the Singapore version. C & R is definitely more impressive as a Malaysian restaurant than a Singaporean one, even though there are numerous dishes on the menu that are found in both countries. Definitely impressive if you're used to or prefer the Malaysian version of such dishes!

We have been frequenting this authentic Malaysian restaurant for the past twelve years and went fri week before only to find out that they were shutting for refurbishment and reopening as a Japanese Shushi restaurant with a few noodle dishes from the existing menu.The duck and satay are to die for and I also have the gado gado.I really hope that they keep these on the menu.I am really surprised that they are going down this route as there are lots of good Japanese restaurants in London but not that many Malaysian.Good Luck with your new venture though and we will of course give you a chance and visit once at least.

I'm Malaysian, when I miss home food I'm always choose C&R.. I would say the taste 90% match Malaysian Chinese food in Malaysia.

A good South East Asian (SEA) restaurant with a Malaysian bias in its choice of dishes. Has a wide menu of local SEA favourites, an okay wine list and good friendly service. The setting is ambient, and seating is ample. The dishes can be bespoked to suit your spice tolerance meter. Close your eyes for moment and you really could be anywhere in Malaysia having a meal.

One of the best I have ever had in London. Reasonable priced. I had the Asam Laksa and Teh Tarik and they are better than I expected. Definitely will come back again.

Whenever we are in London from Portsmouth we always make a trip here, my wife is Indonesian so her longing for Asian food always takes priority :) he food here is amazing, we almost nearly always have Malaysian laksa, es cendol to drink (that's the drink with multicoloured jello bits in in case you've seen it before I winder d what is was), roti cani and my wife has nasi goreng and my daughter chicken sate, the prices are pretty reasonable also and the place is always busy... Tucked away down a little side street...

We have been to C&R in china town many times before. We really enjoyed the food over there (especially Nasi Lemak and Beef Rendang). Recently I started my new job in Paddington when I saw the restaurant, I was overjoyed and expecting the same. I even planned to have dinner together with my workmates from office. First of all, the staffs were so rude (we said thank you more than she did). We ordered Nasi Lemak, Thai Green curry and Fried Chicken Wings. Chicken wings were way too salty, chicken shop can even do better than this. Secondly Thai Green Curry tasted like leftover from two days ago which was put into microwave 1.5 mins and chicken pieces were like rubber and hard to chew. I used to work in Thai kitchen, I am sure you wouldn't even take 10 mins to cook it fresh. My Nasi Lemak was okay but a bit more spice than the one in Soho. I will never ever come back again. We paid service charges for having the rude staffs and terrible food. Today was a good day. P.s. I will also move to another Malay restaurant for dinner with my workmates

This order was scheduled to arrive at 19:45 per the email from just eat. It is 20:45 and there is no sign of the order. The restaurant can't locate the driver and are no able to provide an alternative. AVOID this place! Would give it zero stars but that option does not exist!

I would have given you no stars, but for the fact I could not submit my review otherwise. How the hell can you expect to run a credible business when an order is submitted at 8.06pm and at 21:50pm we are still waiting for our dinner? After calling the restaurant 40 minutes ago, they confirmed it was "waiting for us", undoubtedly stone cold by that point. They said they would ask the driver to come back in 10 minutes and make ours the next port of call. Clearly not. We only live around 3 minutes away by scooter. So, after experiencing Just Eat for the first time and having our Saturday night well and truly ruined, and apart from the fact we are now absolutely starving, I shall endeavour never, ever to recommend this service to anyone and everyone I know. Your tube advertisements are lying. There is no "mini air punch" just gut-wrenching empty stomachs and a small child and two adults who have no idea where their rather expensive dinner got to. Don't promise what you can't deliver. I'm afraid you are simply rubbish.

Food is good here and authentic. But they are consistently 30min late for delivery. So expect 90min waits.

came here earlier this year and it was a complete delight! came here after meeting someone when in london and he recommended it to us!! I always go off recommendations and never really look at my reviews, i prefer to make my own judgement as people always have different opinions!! came here with my dad sister and aunty and uncle form Malaysia, so good we went for lunch then came back for dinner!! everyone loved it and even my aunty and uncle said it was just like eating back in malaysia!! we loved staff and they were really friendly!! can't recommend enough!!
