Byron Central St Giles in Camden

We went there to eat there before going to the theatre today . We were so impressed with everything at this restaurant, from the warm welcome received by the staff , to the quick service which allowed us to make the start time at the theatre . The food was presented well , quickly served ( had Byron burger plus a normal burger plus cheesey chips) and really tasty too . But most of all we were very impressed by our server Sarah who was so helpful . Knowing how to treat customers is a great skill and Sarah did this and made my mums birthday theatre trip more special for the both of us . Thank you for doing that . Sarah is a credit to your organisation and ensures that we will go back there next time we are in London.

Good service, friendly staff and tasty food. You can always rely on the quality.

Staff were friendly and super attentive. Food was good, vegan burger could have used more spice/sauce but other options are tasty. If you have chance, try there special Valentine Tatter-tots. Would visit again.

Horrible, freezing cold shed of a venue. Asked for one of the completely empty booths and was told they were for 4 only. Given no choice of table. Fries were cold, in fairness these were removed from the bill. Customer service was poor. Food average. The business has not improved since the rationalisation.

I used to go to Byron all the time, not this branch but quite a few scattered around London. It used to be really delicious and the courgette fries were amazing. Now, it seems to have lost its identity, the burger wasn't much to write home about and the chips were bland, I had to ask for more salt. As for the courgette fries, they aren't even on the menu anymore. The price was extortionate for what we had, burgers aren't known for being this pricey, the way they get you is that the chips ARENT included in the price, So we ended up paying around £65 for two burgers, two fries, two drinks and a side to share. The service was good, I can't take away that the staff were attentive but then again the place was quite empty, especially for a lunchtime Saturday. Came to have dinner with a large group and we were expertly taken care of by Sarah - she was warm, efficient and got our food going immediately. Great food, even better service. Highly recommended!

After so many years it is still our favorite restaurant to go to and we have tried out MANY places. The food (both vegan and non-vegan) has never disappointed, the staff are very genuine, friendly and approachable and the location is also very beautiful. If we could give it more than 5 stars we would.

I like byron but this was average. No juices for kids (or offered alternative within the meal deal (just don't have a drink and pay the same). My byron burger was okay but not great. Wife's veg burger was good. For what was paid, definitely expected better

Promptly seated, a quiet evening so plenty of tables. Food delivered within a few minutes and was ok. But this is fast food at £15 average burger plus £4-5 fries. Then 10% service charge 🤔 👎

The food was good. The tater tots were the highlight for me. My burger was good, but not that hot. Service was good and patient waiting for last person to arrive. Atmosphere was relaxed rather rhan buzzing which I prefer for a meal. Would recommend.

I’m a regular (or was) Byron visitor but it seems the food has gone downhill. Two of the burgers we ordered medium were totally well done and more like pub food burgers than a decent Honest or Byron burger. The chicken burger was very small and again, poor quality. Shame as quality burgers was what differentiated them from the more standard burger joints. Also seemed short staffed and hard to get hold of a waiter. Will think twice about going back.

This byron is big and exposed, its warmer than it looks but you are still eating in a big glass box. The wait staff were top notch, 100% and the food was great, no complaints at all.

Lo más destacable el trato del personal, cercano, y amable. Bastante rápido en preparar y traer los platos. Hamburguesas ricas si vas con hambre, tampoco nada del otro mundo. La carne sí que se nota que es de más calidad que cadenas de comida rápida. Buena parada para cargar pilas, de precio hamburguesa con patatas y bebida 18-20 libras cada uno.

Lovely food and friendly staff. After leaving the restaurant and on our way home we noticed my son’s rack sack was missing we called the restaurant and spoke to Shab who informed us he had the bag safely in his office he was very helpful! 5 days later the bag is back with us! Thank you so much for all your help! Will definitely be paying another visit next time we are in London!

I had the Clucky and it was the best Chickenburger I ever ate. It was so good that I visited the restaurant a second time in one week. By the way the onion rings are also great.

U can't get a better burger than a byron burger. IMO even comparing to another burger joint is an insult

Tasty burgers and quick service👌🏼

Really nice burger place, the service was fast and the food was delicious. The burgers are quite on par with the flavour of Five Guys (a little sacrilegious to say!) but actually more affordable and in a nicer setting. This particular Byron restaurant was pretty with tall glass surrounding the entirety of the restaurant! Very atmospheric and it adds to the dining experience.

We had a good stay at this very spacious location. Our Mexican waiter was attentive and friendly. The food was quick and did not disappoint. This was on a Friday evening after we could not manage to find a table for 5 in many other places. Byron's burger are premium quality. My favourite being the B-Rex 🍔🦖

Food was okay , more of an up market fast food chain than something a little more unique. Service was very slow and not very good. Arrived at 12 and our waitress greeted us and walked off to our table before before we’d even looked at a menu or anything. Our waiter was very slow going and we waited 20 minutes to get the bill which was only brought over to us after we stood up and walked towards the entrance.

The food cannot be faulted even for vegetarians (the Haloumi Burger), and was very good and tasty. My friends had meat and they were also rather delighted. Service was quick and pleasant. The restaurant itself is big, modern and is actually great for conversation as the music isn't loud. What was a real let down was a male staff member (non-bearded) who held water glasses by the top end, the part your lips touch. That is unhygienic and he should have known better, its just plain common sense. Thats why I give it a 3.

We were seated quickly, server gave us a menu without the £7.50 lunch deal we had to ask for it. Ordered 1 skinny burger with fries, 1 chicken skinny burger with salad & a side of onion rings. 2 Skinny chicken burgers with salad & Onion rings were served. They took the 1 order back to replace with original order. It took so long my daughter had finished her meal which was nice I ate the onion rings. The burger turned up without chips we cancelled it just had a couple of drinks which took ages to get.

Went for a pre theatre burger as you know exactly what to expect. This visit was just what we wanted and delivered to expectations.

Giving 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for food, we used to love it but the meat has changed, more like little balls of bone and fat and they don’t do the good mexican spicy sauce anymore, now it’s some type of washing liquid taste, very bad. Giving 1 ⭐️ for their sneaky misleading service charge hidden in the bill and that without asking they force this on to you and straight up charge you a higher amount without asking. It’s optional in the UK. I will keep giving 1 star because we need to stand up to this, we are not the US, so stop following their dumb tipping ways and make customers go thru the embarrassment of asking the waiter to charge them the REAL amount for what we have consumed and not an imaginary service.

Came today, ordered the cheeseburger, chips and chicken strips. The chips and chicken strips were tasty, just disappointed with the burger, I ordered it medium but it came well done, I waited for a waiter to come and do a check back to highlight the problem but no one came. Even when plates were collected we weren’t asked how our food was. All in all the food was okay but the service wasn’t very good

The chicken and burgers are good, the staff are friendly, just a shame you can't trust the prices on the menu, the restaurant charges a 10% service fee on everything. It is a sit down restaurant not fast food, service should be included

Great place for meeting up, the food is good but a bit overpriced, love the ambiance.

I love the chilli burger at Byron. On this occasion they served a beef patty which was not even cooked. No one came to do a follow up and I suspect the team there under stress or not trained how to cook ? Tried to reach out but no one bothered to contact which is just unbelievable. Please check your burgers before you eat them as raw ones can lead to serious health consequences

Lackadaisical, awful food that is well overpriced. Ordered medium cooked burger, food came way too quickly... dry and overcooked. The burgers are obviously cooked in advance and kept in a hot drawer a la McDonalds! To be avoided.

Immer wieder gern kommen wir auf einen Burger hierher. Ein unkompliziertes Restaurant mit sehr gutem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wenn man dem Touristen-Gewusel entgehen und doch nicht allzu weit weg vom Zentrum essen will: Covent Garden oder der Leicester Square sind nur einige Gehminuten entfernt.

In the mood for a burger? Do yourself a favor and walk the extra 10 mins to Honest Burger. Or even to Five Guys. The service here is poor. The skin-on fries are centrally processed and not fresh. And the burger comes out thoroughly well done, like at a fast food joint. I’d avoid this place at all costs after having the same experience twice in a row.

Chicken burger was super rubbery, don't bother with that. The milkshakes are so good though, Oreo is my favorite. Service was great.

Really lovely burger out at Byron Burger Bar in London opposite to the Shaftesbury theatre. The server showed us to our table, we booked in advance. The server advised us of the best deal - Uncle Sam burger for £9.99. Great food, nice atmosphere. Toilets were upstairs and were clean. I would visit again.

Popped in for something to eat before visiting the Shaftesbury Theatre for my husbands birthday. Seated quickly and given menus but nothing was said. We waited ages for someone to eventually come over (it wasn’t busy as there were 3 male staff talking in front of the pass for ages). I wondered if I was meant to go up somewhere to order as we hadn’t been before and it was taking a super long time. When a lady finally came over, she took our order… she wasn’t rude but no smile, no chat… nothing. Very transactional - no interaction. My husband was wearing a birthday badge so an opportunity to at least say ‘happy birthday’ but nothing! When the food came it was really tasty and very hot. Finished - paid the bill and left. My expectations are now managed if we ever visit again… doesn’t appear like they are going for any level of service, more in… eat…, and out.

I had a very kind, friendly server who spoke to me every time she passed by. She recognised when I had finished and promptly brought over the bill. However I only noticed as I was leaving the £7.50 lunch deal which wasn’t mentioned when I was given the menu; that’s the only reason my review is 4* and not 5*.

Visited Byron at Shaftesbury Avenue today before seeing Mrs Doubtfire. Sarah our Waitress was fantastic. We told her we only had an hour before the show. She brought our food and drinks up really quickly. The food and service was excellent. Thank you Sarah.

We just had a bad experience at another nearby Japanese restaurant, as we have a guide dog and the restaurant staff were being horrible 😔 The food at Bryon's was hot and tasted great, especially the onion rings and chicken strips. I and my partner wanted to try vegan burger and we landed to Byron. We had classic chicken and the B-Rex burger but the vegan version of those. Both the burgers felt too dry overall. The flavours were not really trying to pop up as you'd want a burger to but rather on a very subtle side. The onion rings are really unique to Byron and tasted really well but however the burger let us down. I am really hopeful to have better meaty burgers instead of the vegan ones and really look forward to come back here. The place has huge glass area but the vibe doesn't really set the mood of eating a Gourmet burger. The staff is really kind and helpful so you'd get help with everything you want. But Byron doesn't really feel value for money and you'll get many better alternatives.

A great restaurant/diner with amazing food. The staff is friendly and forthcoming. The food is fresh and well prepared and the atmosphere is great (personal taste). It’s like an American diner. I’ve visited Byron several times, before the pandemic and after. It’s still amazing.

Inn no ordered a vegetarian beyond burger meal. After beginning to eat, I realised the burger was meat it was rare inside, I’ve had beyond before. I tried flying get a full refund from deliveroo. They only gave me a partial refund despite the fries being next ti the meat. I asked for a full refund, they refused. I called St Giles and the tried to tell me it was vegetarian. The guy was adamant he would not give a refund and would not arrange re delivery of the correct order, value £26.72. Absolutely no respect for vegetarian/vegan. I would definately not eat here again, I feel sick at the thought I was eating blood red meat. Really bad customer service

Needs more staff at lunch. Couldn't cope with the amount of take away orders coming in and people wanting to eat in. This is predictable so no excuse.

I had a burger minus the bun and fries. Everything was decent enough but I added a softdrink and paid £23. Not exactly cheap. Byron has a lunch menu now. The thing is, I only got the menu once I asked for it. Same at neighbour tables. Really, Byron, why do you sink so low? Wasn't possible to get the burger without the bun on the lunch menu so my food cost me about double. Maybe there was a cheaper option, throwing away the bun (though I hate to throw away food) and order a salad extra? Guess I'll never know.

Server was passive-aggressive about splitting the bill and they included a gratuity on top of the bill.

My family and I were served by Sarah, who was second to none in her customer service. She seated us immediately and recommended the new Ruben burger to us (which we ordered) and quickly got us our drinks. She came over at least 5 times while we were eating, topping up our drinks and asking of we were enjoying the food. We have eaten at Byron's Central St Giles on numerous occasions and have always found the food to be excellent, but the level of care we received from Sarah prompted this review...she is truly a diamond in the service industry of London!

I enjoyed Byron more in the past. But quite sure what exact was not quite right: greasy onion rings, dry burger, smelly venue, … was a little disappointed.

My favourite cheeseburger in London.

Used to be the best burger since inception but I think the beef recipe was changed and its not like old days.

It was very quiet when we visited, only one server on. Despite this still served us promptly and was very friendly. Food was good never had a bad byron burger
