Visiting Shaftesbury Theatre so popped into Byron for dinner. Great friendly service. Dirty Burger & Clucky Burger both very nice. Cheese Bites/Fries/Sweet Potato Fries/Mac n Cheese all good. Defo be back!

We love Byron and go whenever we get the chance. This location was a bit of a let down. I believe there was only 1 server on the floor so even though it wasn't overly busy there was still quite a bit of a wait to be served. We had a voucher so couldn't order through the app which made the wait even longer. The atmosphere was non existent. The food wasn't amazing it was very basic and nothing special.

I stumbled upon Byron at St Giles after a visit to the British Museum, just as it started pouring rain. It wasn’t planned at all, but it turned out to be a great spot to wait out the storm. I ordered a burger with fries, which was tasty and reasonably priced at around £10. I only stayed for about 20 minutes, but the experience left a lasting impression. What really stood out to me was the kindness of one of the staff members, Sarah. She checked in on me multiple times to see if everything was alright and even offered to help me close my suitcase when I almost opened it to grab my phone charger. Her offer was really thoughtful, especially since I later realized closing my suitcase again would’ve been a struggle. Before leaving, I wanted to tip her for her kindness but she informed me that I had already done so when I paid for my meal. Not only that, but when I asked for directions to Big Ben, she noticed I was mistakenly heading towards a different place called “Big Bang” on my maps. Knowing my phone was about to die, she went the extra mile and drew me a map on the back of a receipt, making sure I passed by Chinatown and Nelson’s Column. Her recommendations were spot on—I had a wonderful time exploring these spots, especially Nelson’s Column which she insisted I visit. Sarah even added a little hat to the Nelson statue in her drawing, with a note saying “Safe Sowneys” or something close to that—though I’m still not sure what it means! But her thoughtfulness truly made my visit special. Great food, but even better service thanks to Sarah!

Food was very tasty but for £14 (£15 to make it vegan) it wasn't very good value for money - no sides at all with a £15 burger is steep! Kids menu was good and my son enjoyed it. Staff friendly but tables too close to each other - I could hear the next table conversation word for word. Didn't like how close they were. It did the job as it was close to the theatre but not sure I would rush back.

Burgers are OK, if a little expensive. It's good to be able to build your own if you want to. However, having to order and pay via an app is very depressing. Staff were still having to deal with people who couldn't cope with the on-line system, so it seemed a little pointless. Byron, please move back to proper table service!

Came here with my family pre theatre, i wasn’t expecting it to be this busy the place was full of loud teenagers but they find us a table within 5 minutes in a quieter part of the restaurant , the kids got activity packs which they loved. We didn’t want to order by the QR code kind of off putting and feels cheap in my opinion. The manager offered to take our order by the till which was greatly appreciated. Food was good and service was great. They were busy rushing around but we were checked twice if we needed anything and smiled whenever passing by. Overall good and will be back but only because the staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Byron have an offer that allows you to buy one burger and get one free on Monday and Tuesday. It’s not made clear that this offer is not available for customers ordering take out. I visited the Tottenham Court Road branch and I was curtly informed that I was unable to advantage of the offer as I wasn’t dining in. The waitress who was serving me left me mid-sentence to seat another guest. I found that to be quite rude. When I explained that the terms of the offer wasn’t clear she gave me some really fluffy response around the intention of the offer- I genuinely believe she was blagging at this point. Didn’t take it further as waitress seemed combative and I was already annoyed and out of energy

I ordered their signature Byron burger and a chicken one, though I can't recall the name. Both burgers were tasty and full of flavour; however, the bun wasn't fresh and wasn't warmed up. They also didn't provide any gloves, leaving our hands a total mess. The outdoor seating area is nice and clean, and the service is good.

Absolutely Awful experience. We came for a quick bite before the theatre and informed on arrival that we needed to order by using the QR code. This took us quite a while as we were looking for options to custom our order- once we had placed it I asked the waiter if I could request my burger was cooked well done and was told not to worry as all burgers were served well done. I ordered the burger with bacon with no bun and salad instead of fries. The bacon was hardly cooked, the burger was pink and the salad was limp and soggy and looked like it had been sitting around for a while. When I finally managed to get the attention of a member of staff they kindly offered to replace my burger and offered a refund. My replacement arrived, I was asked if I wanted fries as the salad was all of the same quality and I declined. My burger was served with a pile of shredded iceberg lettuce which was brown around the edges and definitely past its best. I just can’t understand how a business such as this can let their standards slip to such an extent. We won’t be returning! I also feel for the staff as it must hard pick being replaced by a QR code and I imagine a fair few customers might opt to deduct service charge seeing as there is none!

This afternoon I went to Byron with my family. We were served by Sarah, who was so helpful and accommodating, which was especially appreciated regarding my toddler. Her customer service is absolutely outstanding. Sarah took the care to take my order manually because I was having difficulty with selecting the appropriate allergens on the self order menu. Sarah’s professionalism was at its highest with also naturally showing her kind nature as an individual with her words. Sid and Rico also were helpful and friendly. It’s evident that the staff consistently reflect the company’s values, especially through Sarah!

We had been to the theatre and wanted to eat before getting the tube home. Byron was literally opposite the Shaftesbury Theatre so we called in there. We were seated and told that we had to order on an app using the QR code on the table. This is not how we like to order food, we like the old school way of speaking to somebody and paying with cash but were not given that option. We were going to leave but then Sarah came over to see if we were ok and after explaining our preference to her, she took us over to the takeaway till and ordered our food for us there. She was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We noticed that many other tables with groups of people were complaining to her that the ordering through the app was taking them so long that they also felt like leaving. The lady in the group of 7 next to us was almost in tears as it took her over 20 minutes to place their order. It is not a user-friendly way for people of our age to order food and I honestly think that Byron are losing a lot of customers because of this. If it had not been for Sarah then we would definitely have gone somewhere else. Sarah handled the other complaints with calm professionalism and should be given some sort of recognition as tensions were running high. The food was actually really delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed it and were glad that we were encouraged to stay.

Disgusting business model. The only way you can order is via scanning QR code on the table that takes you to a website. The phone signal is poor in the restaurant and their WiFi is flaky. Why force customers to use an online service in a place with poor online connections! We were there as a company outing and had to have the bosses phone handed around for people to place their drinks orders. Then again for the food. This took 5 times as long as it would have done if the waitress had just taken our orders. We spoke with the waitress and even agreed with us! If your staff dislike it, why use that system?! Pathetic. Give your staff a tablet to take orders, it's not hard! Food was ok (when it eventually turned up), nothing particularly exciting. And not worth the hype.

Last night, I had a very disappointing drink at the restaurant. The glass was only half full, mostly with ice and margarita mix. There was barely any alcohol in it; it tasted like lime juice. I even checked the menu to make sure it wasn't a mocktail. Byron needs to improve if they want to avoid shortchanging customers. Charging £8.80 for what feels like half a glass of lime juice with ice is unacceptable. They should hire skilled bartenders who can make proper drinks or lower their prices. Our group of 8 was celebrating a birthday, and 2 of us ordered this cocktail. Both drinks were poorly made, and we will be sharing our negative experience with the restaurant. We won’t return if this doesn’t change.

The caesar salad was very lackluster especially given the price—barely any lettuce, or dressing and cheese for that matter. The bacon and cheese were all two big clumps, the croutons were too big and also all in one section, there was almost no dressing even though the Caesar dressing left much to be desired in taste. And charging a service charge when your menu is a qr code, and you order online is laughable—pay your employees their worth don't put that on a customer. Almost 20 pounds for a coke, mediocre fries, and the worst Cesar in london is crazy. Minor note on service, with the change to qr menus and ordering there is less interaction but the ones I did have were not very professional. I went during a not too busy time, yet was ‘welcomed’ with the question of if i made a booking beforehand, a weird question giving the time (almost 3) and the fact that it was just me but moreso by the connotation of the voice and where they choose to sit me when there was a lot of open tables elsewhere, this was made weirder by the fact that when he brought my drinks out he handed it to me from above over a railing which was unprofessional but also very weird that he didnt want to come to the table, the cherry on top was the fact that they tried clearing my plates and wished me off a good day literally the second I finished my salad. This place has gone from a nice sit down burger joint to a fast-food-esque, quick turnover for money type of place…disappointing to say the least.

A large group of us came here from work at lunchtime. The waitress and waiter were consummate professionals. The place was packed, and from up at the back I could watch the pressure the cooks were under. The servers never flustered once, but treated us like kings. The only glitch was the QR code thing and the non-cash idiocy. Can we all return to normal paper-based menus please, and accepting money? Apart from that, an outstanding experience food-wise and staff-wise.

I recently visited Byron with a group of friends, and we had an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect for our gathering. A special mention goes to Ajay, who served us. He was incredibly helpful in assisting me with my food choices, especially considering my allergies. Eating here ruined my trip to London. We were on our first day and just decided to eat here because it was close and simple. Big mistake. The burgers tasted off. I assumed it was just some seasoning I wasn't used to. But it wasn't. We went back to the room to sleep since we'd had an overnight flight. The next morning I felt a bit off. I tried to eat but just one bite was hard to swallow. Coincidentally my son had passed out due to hyperventilating as he was feeling ill. While a bike EMT helped him, I started vomiting. I vomited so much and so hard they put me in an ambulance and we considered going to hospital. I decided I'd be ok. Instead, I was so sick for the next two days I only left my bed to go to the bathroom, where I literally puked and crapped at the same time. This was literally the only thing I'd eaten, so there's no question what made me ill. I wouldn't go back if they paid me.

Took one bite of my burger and it tasted so weird and bad that I couldn't force myself to take another despite not having eaten after a 7 hour flight. Tried the fries and they tasted like peanut oil more than fries. The milkshake was fine. The guy I ate with got so sick after eating his despite his also tasting off that he ended up throwing up and having bouts of diarrhea. I think I got off lucky.

Food was fine. Part of our order dropped off because of their online ordering system. We reordered separately after our food was brought and we realized. The order that was reordered was supposedly not received by the kitchen even though the waiter could see it in their screen. We waited for over 45 minutes for them to finally tell us that. I told them we still wanted the food but we should be refunded, they refunded us and then never brought the food. We probably waited another 30 minutes before they told us they cancelled the order bc we wanted a refund. Started off as a good experience but ended awful. Would not recommend. There are so many other wonderful places in London where you actually get what you pay for, not worth the money or time in my opinion.

I finally got to try this burger joint I've been seeing on social media and around London. I ordered the Double Smash Cheeseburger. The patty was juicy, flavorful, and hot. The other ingredients in the burger were well-balanced, making it a great burger overall. Even though I ordered it as a smash burger, the patties were thicker compared to other smash burger places.

Been coming here for awhile. Lovely atmosphere, great food, and service, but god, the floorstaff seems *stressed*. There are two of them running around, trying to seat, help, and serve everyone. I don't know if they are just understaffed locally or that management reduced staff after the QR menus dropped, but I miss the old times when Byron was a fun relaxed environment where the serves had time to do everything properly. The vibes are just a tad off now.

So when you have a table of friends arrive at their table , the conversation stops as everyone is trying to work out the ridiculous new ordering system. It’s now pay as you go !! Plus it’s just another way for Byron to make more money as they are adding service charge to each order from each individual…, what am I paying for - I’m ordering & doing everything myself! + they want your email address to place the order - another marketing tool to gain your information. Can’t wait for them to email me to tell them what I think of their new impersonal ordering system. I use to go regularly to Byron - tonight was my last visit. Sort this out Byron. It’s a shambles. What is your reason for this ridiculous new system.

We entered to immediately be told we had to order our meal and drinks via the QR Code / App. This made no real sense as there were multiple staff floating around. We then faffed about with the QR code and experienced multiple failed orders. We were slightly concerned we were going to receive multiple burgers and drinks based on the ordering experience. Thankfully we did not. Whilst the food was nice, I don't understand the premium price for having to order all of my food through a QR code.

This is not a review in any way of the lovely staff here…but of the business practices set up by their bosses. You can only order through their ridiculous QR code system using a smartphone. This is digital discrimination and setting a horrible precedent. If god forbid your phone is dead, without service, or you can’t afford a smartphone - no service. To avoid.

Such a shame that Byron has gone down the pan,used to be my favourite. Empty restaurant, staff that can’t be bothered, only order through scanning QR code and it’s such a faff. Very expensive now, I mean £16 for a burger without chips lol, walked out went to honest burger in Garrick street.

Delicious burgers 🍔 nice Terrace with a lively street view, friendly and helpful staff. The only improvement point is to have options to make an order, we had issues with ordering online( the internet wasn’t working good) at the end the staff helped us and we could order via them. it’s always good to have the option to order at the reception offline ;)

La cerveza de su marca está buena pero les falta un poco de frío. El servicio muy profesional, amable y rápido. Just amazing, only waited a couple of minutes for the food to arrive and it was delicious. They have a huge variety of options for people that are allergic to gluten. 10/10 would recommend every day of the week, and the experience was awesome.
