Butta Burger in Edinburgh, City of

Nice location - Quartermile - welcoming staff. Lovely food freshly cooked. Burger and chips was very good and chicken fried Gordal olives absolutely amazing. A fairly Spartan burger joint with inside and outside seating. 3,staff all working hard even carrying the food downstairs, but they remained cheery and helpful despite being very busy and under pressure.

The chicken burgers are so tasty! Perfectly cooked buttermilk chicken. My favourite is the garlic Kiev chicken burger but u also love the truffle chick. My husband generally gets the beef burgers which are also delicious. Portions are big and the fries can definitely be shared between two. Dog friendly, relaxed dining. Perfect for a quick meal and pretty reasonably priced.

Really friendly helpful staff. Happy to help. Milkshakes were good and we had pizza/cookies from upstairs and they were delicious. Would definitely visit again.

The burgers here are amazing! After a 10 hour flight all we wanted to do was eat and rest and this place was right across the street from our flat so we tried it and were so impressed we also at there our last night in town. Friendly staff and the food was great what more could you want.

The burgers and sides here really are amazing. It is a little on the pricey side seeing as everything comes separate. For a Friday night the restaurant was dead and the staff mood reflected that. They didn't seem enthusiastic about the place or their food. Good for a quick bite to eat or eating on the go though!

Tasty comfort food. Not sure if it quite lives up to the tik tok hype, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I would perhaps get a burger next time as I had chicken wings and strips.

The food here was so good that on our brief weekend in Edinburgh our group strongly considered going back rather than trying something new. Everyone loved every burger they got and yet was also envious of everyone else's burger at the same time. Having a dipping gravy for your burger may sound weird but it is genius. The only mistake we made was ordering a large portion of fries each. The portion size is not Five Guys level of ridiculousness but unless you're really hungry a large portion between two people is probably plenty. The fries were also delicious, it was tragic leaving them but we had other places to be! Next time I'm back in Edinburgh I'm going back for sure.

Butta Burger is downstairs and there is a pizza place upstairs in this restaurant I think. The food was really nice, but one portion of chips between the 2 of us would probably have been enough as the portion was massive. I had the beef and onion burger and my friend had the bacon and cheese and both were really nice. The mozzerella bites were also really good. It was quite quiet at this restaurant when we visited for a late lunch but that suited us and we would return.

Came in here as an impulse decision as I was hungry and this was the closest place that suited my needs. Lady at the front could do with some customer service training but she got the job done. When the food came (eventually) it was amazing I must say, very generous portion for the prices as well as the shake, perfect amount of oreo in it to make it probably one of the best shakes I’ve had. This place has so much potential let down by below average staff, I feel bad writing this because I feel the staff and the overall establishment can be so much better. Please take this on board!

The service in this place is non-existent. The glasses were greasy and dirty. When I went to the bar to ask for a replacement, they gave me two more dirty glasses. I explained to the lady that the glasses were dirty, and she simply responded, 'THEY ARE CLEAN, THEY CAME FROM THE DISHWASHER.' It seems like she doesn't realize that the glasses also need to be polished. Furthermore, they took an unusually long time to bring us more glasses, despite knowing that we needed them. The food was ready, but not the glasses. When it came time to pay, they lost our food order and had to ask us what we had ordered. I was extremely disappointed because not only did they provide poor service, but they also openly discussed the dirty glasses situation in front of the table where I was seated, even laughing about it. It was disheartening to see that they showed such disregard and lack of professionalism.

Four big eaters descended on this restaurant earlier today. We were all hungry and fortunately the portion sizes were ample. The chicken was tremendous and superior to that served in other chicken based restaurants. With excellent friendly service from Denim, we be returning very soon.

Good burger that’s was very filling, nice flavoured fries and the burgers was nicely cooked. I had the chicken burger which was massive vs the beef and onion one that I tried previously. Facilities were clean. Have been to both Butta restaurants sun Edinburgh and this one is quieter and well lit inside.

Great staff, we were able to get a table at late notice and had lovely food. Would really recommend!

Arrived and staff were only too happy to help. I've not seen service this good in a long time. Ordered our food, it arrived pretty quickly. Food was outstanding, so much so we halved burgers so we could try a few. Bought Fries and Truffle fries, portions were so big we couldn't finish them between 3 of us. Great staff, Outstanding food, nice atmosphere and very reasonably priced. Recommended to all my friends already. (3 guys mid 30s)

My family and I visited Butta Burger for a birthday meal and we really enjoyed it. We went to the one at Quartermile. It’s a site which hasn’t really taken off as it’s quite hidden with not a lot of footfall. If there’s something which is going to get the crowds in then it’s this place. It’s bright yellow decor isn’t hard to miss. Split over two floors the tables are quite close together and there’s also outdoor seating for when Edinburgh gets sunshine. There’s a young team of serving staff who suit the restaurants ethos of being trendy and vibrant. It’s not got the most expansive of menus which isn’t a bad thing. Especially when what they do they do it so well. Service is laid back and we had to wait a wee bit longer than expected l for the food. There’s a good selection of pop tunes simmering away in the background. Speaking of which it was great to see them getting the fussy food family specifics right! I went for the Beef and Onion burger which is blended with a Butta blend. Really fast and filling. Chips come separately and there’s a selection of different flavours for all tastes. We went for a selection of sides including chicken fingers that were really nice. You can tell what they’re trying to do. Keep things simple but have a twist of the ordinary burger. Done in a way that makes me appealing and stand out of the crowd.

Our party of 8 had a range of different things from kids menu to burgers to chicken. All was great. Unfortunately the milkshakes weren’t available but there staff kindly arrange ice creams for the kids instead. Great service.

Worst service I’ve ever encountered. Drinks took so long to be made it came almost at the same time with food (we ordered 2 coffees and a soda). Coffee was not the correct type I ordered and fully burnt, they clearly do not have the training as the girl making it looked very confused. Got a simple order wrong then was rude when I brought it up. Overall attitude of staff was poor, they were too busy chatting to serve customers, despite the place being basically empty. Burgers were nice and came quickly, we were offered money off the bill for the error which was appreciated but the waitress was still very rude and unbothered. Staff need better training and I’d recommend going elsewhere despite the food being reasonably good.

Aimee and Ash were fab servers. Such friendly service and great deals on food and drink. We will be back. Highly recommended!

I don’t think I’ve ever savoured something like the burger I had here. Literally melted in my mouth. Partner had the chicken burger, it was equally as nice. Juice rolled down her chin, it was cooked to perfection! Won’t find anywhere better!
