I have been here a few times in the afternoon and could never fault it, but I took my son last night for his birthday, and to be honest I was really dissapointed, the service was very poor compared to what we’ve experienced before, and the food wasn’t as good as usual. I’m actually put off coming back, which is such a shame because I have enjoyed it so much previously.

Room temperature to hot. Tables far to close together, so close that holding a private conversation is impossible. Food - average, not worth the price.

The food was fantastic, but we were very disappointed in our table. It was squeezed in and right beside the door in a draft. The waiters knocked the table at least four or five times, nearly upending a drink. We booked this well in advance and to be given such a poor table and treated as an afterthought was very disappointing, especially when people after us were given much better tables. It somewhat ruined the evening. The table was clearly in the way and squeezed in as you’d overbooked. I suggest removing it and being more circumspect with your bookings.

Terrible long wait for service throughout our meal from the moment we arrived until we left ,main course was sent back as it was over cooked ,drinks took an age to come ,had to go to the bar to pay as waiter was no where to be seen ,won't be back

Staff were very welcoming, helpful and polite. Food was fantastic as always. Steak sandwich was very tasty and the mini banoffee pie was the perfect size and delicious

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the appearance of the restaurant was peaceful as well as busy. The toilets are small and cramped with cheap toilet seats this is the only thing I would change, making it feel a little more luxurious.

Very disappointed with our meals … one steak was barely cooked ( fillet ) the other was not very flavoursome . The sides were cold ( fries and potatoes ) . My drink … an Aperol spritz did not taste very nice .. might have been flat Prosecco … very watered down .. Restaurant could also do with a good clean ! Lots of food on carpet next to our table . We left within 45 mins of arriving !

We have been to miller and carters numerous time in city centre and this was first visit to this restaurant. We were here for my mums 60th birthday. 3 of us had steaks and 2 had lamp rumps. Food was cooked great. And the service by Sam was amazing was engaging with us throughout. He honestly made our first experience here worth while

First time visiting Miller and Carter and we will not rush back!! Unfriendly staff, made to feel very unwelcome from start to finish and definitely not family friendly. Firstly I booked the lunch menu, to be told this wasn't available. The menu was not explained to us, like it was others, we got no kids menus (I had to ask!) Ordered meals, they took a while although Steak was amazing. However kids portion size for 11.95 was ridiculous. Also requested burger no cheese, it came with cheese. Kids dessert came with no ice cream when it should have. Wasnt asked if we needed extra drinks or condiments. I asked several times for the bill, to be left waiting with young family. Who by this time were getting impatient. Also we had a very arrogant and rude waiter!! Overall experience for my partners birthday was by far not great!

We came for Mother’s Day treat. We had booked the table, I was expecting it to be super busy but it was fairly quiet when we arrived. The service was absolutely horrendous. Our waiter was so softly spoken we could not hear them/ they could not hear us. Had to ask twice to get a kids menu for my daughter as only got given adults menus- despite me stating kids on the booking. Starter arrived wrong and got taken away to change one dish to the right one, had to ask after 5 minutes if we were getting the right starter so that arrived once everyone had finished eating. Ordered a glass of wine with the drinks had to ask another twice to actually get the wine. Main courses were lovely. Finished and sat for 10 minutes eventually asked if we could get the plates cleared. Again sat then asked if we could order dessert which resulted in 2 of them having a conversation about who could take the order. Similar issues getting the bill, our desserts never did get cleared and had to ask several different people to get the bill.. The food was delicious don’t get me wrong and we all had steaks even the kids but the service was so shockingly bad. It was Mother’s Day so a bit busy but honestly the servers were standing at the till on iPads and several behind the bar- this service was not because they were short staffed it just seemed so disorganised, inexperienced with no management. I tried to speak to someone whilst I was there but there was no one who seemed to be responsible and after asking at the bar several times I gave up. Would not return

Very disappointed in our meal tonight . I had steak salad which was basically salad leaves with 4 or 5 bits off overcooked steak which were very tough , if I hoped dessert would be better I was wrong the apple pie was raw at the bottom and overcooked on the top , we asked for tap water but were charged £4 for the bottle . All in all very disappointing the standard has definitely dropped and we won’t be back . Over priced and a let down.

Staff were incredibly patient as 2 guests ran late, made sure we always had drinks and got every order spot on. Will continue returning in the future, and in particular to the Cramond Brig as it has always been our favourite

Great service and a lovely lunch. Thank you for making the service charge optional - I hate how people are adding that on automatically elsewhere. We were happy to leave a tip for our server (Alison) who was lovely, but I do appreciate that we had the option!

Thoroughly disappointing experience. No parking available, had to park almost 1 mile away. Warmly greeted by initial waiter, middle aged gent with a beard. Second waiter, young lad with blonde/brown hair ignored us at every opportunity, even when trying to pay. Pepper sauce was poor, taste was off and was too cool. Prawn cocktail was watery and had 2 slivers of avocado. Toilets dirty. Only saving grace was the steak itself.

Brought my wife for her birthday first time visiting. Can't fault staff they were very attentive. We did have to wait a long time for our main meal which wasn't very hot when it eventually arrived. The sweet was pretty quick coming to the table. I understand they were busy but I still expect hot food and noticed quite a few people sending back their food.

Lovely lunch reasonably priced and served by the very helpful Justyna. Excellent service. Will be back to Miller and Carter at Cramond Brig.

Met with friends after driving some five and a half hours for a meal before I went to my hotel. A long anticipated catch up and some great food followed for our 8pm booking the restaurant was busy on our arrival. We had starters, mains, deserts and coffee and it soon became apparent that the staff were hinting for us to start to move on it was around 9:50pm when these not so subtle hints began and then at 10pm as we were the last in we were asked to leave as they were shutting. The website advised it is open till 11pm but they wanted to go home and couldn't get us out quick enough so our get together was curtailed as there is nowhere else close by. Appalling way to treat a party of 3 who had just spent just short of £160 and left a £16 tip. Food was great but if you're not hospitable don't work in hospitality - Most rude and unacceptable

Myself and husband where celebrating our 10 year anniversary together and chose miller and carter as we always love the restaurant at cramond Brigg. On Saturday we had such a lovely evening. The food and service was excellent. We would specifically like to acknowledge Justina how was our waitress. She went over and above. Her service and amazing. So friendly and genuine. Great knowledge and such a lovely person. She is an asset to your restaurant. At the end of our meal we where about to pay and they came out with a lovely dessert decorated with happy anniversary. We where blown away. Told all our family and friends. We both can't wait to return soon.

We went here with our two children (8 & 11) for their first time. My partner had her usual steak and really enjoyed it, with added rack of ribs. The kids had a burger and mac and cheese with fries. For my children, who are fussy and autistic so funny with sensory things, they were perfect portions. The area we sat in was so quiet (it was right at the back and downstairs) so they didn't find any noise overwhelming. I myself, struggle to enjoy a vegetarian meal here. But no complaints because it is a steak house. Last times I've been I just had 3 sides as a meal but this time I went for a pumpkin salad and was really put off by there being a huge pumpkin slice on the plate! Other than that it was fine. Desserts were great as well as our cocktails and mocktails! We will always return, it's such a lovely restaurant and I'm hoping for a nicer veggie salad for summer menu!

The quality of food was great. I have been a number of times and cannot fault the food at all. Always a great place for a very tasty steak. Sides are equally good, and starters such as the halloumi fries are to die for. This time was first time in taking my daughter, she absolutely loved her fillet steak. Gave it an 11 out of 10 she liked it so much.

We have dined here many times over the years and from last year till today we must have been around 6 times and every time over the last year there has been issues with the food and drinks and today was the last time we will be going. I ordered the sticky chicken for the starter and it was like it had been done in an air fryer for far to long dry and cold I was so hungry so I let it go and just had it. 3 of us ordered stake the first stake I got was under cooked and cold and the chips must had been sitting for about an hour the other 2 stakes cold so waited for a re make 5 minutes later more cold chips where brought to the table and my stake was cold so handed it back again a 3ed stake was brought over to me and it was also cold so I handed it back again. The lettuce wedge that you get with stake 6 goals later and everyone of them where brown and had mould on them when I told them to cancel my order the look I got was unbelievable and they still had the nerve to hand me a bill. I would not recommend and would say of you are going to visit here check all your food before eating any of it. When I asked if I could see the kitchen so I could see if it was clean I was told no you are not allowed in there.

Nice welcome on arrival and our table was ready. The restaurant was busy but we were quickly offered drinks and we ordered main course and dessert, 3 fish and chips and 1 rump steak and profiteroles. The food and the service was superb and special mention to our server Dominika who looked after us.

We had amazing meal. Food was delicious and Justyna was very attentive. Would highly recommend dining here.

Our favourite place for a child free date night - it never disappoints! Claire was a fantastic and attentive host who was nothing short of a delight. Food was great and cooked to perfection and the passionfruit daiquiri was delicious! We will be back.

This is a very difficult question as i am Trying to be critical but can't. The food was (as expected) sensational, the ambience magical but the waitress was the best I have ever had in 40+ years of dining out for pleasure and business. The whole experience was simply the best.

Really pleasant anniversary dinner here. Our waiter was Sam and he was really pleasant, and friendly. We had starters mains and desserts and all were brilliant. We got a lot for our money and any problems were sorted really quickly. A great night out.

My Wife and I have visited the Edinburgh centre branch 3 times and decided to visit the Crammond Brigg this time for her birthday. The quality of service in CB is nowhere near as good as the other branch. my wife ordered the Fillet from the black angus section and explained in detail to the waiter how she would like it cooked (rare to med rare) and the salad to have some mild dressing on the side. the first problem was that the salad arrived with the wrong dressing on the top of the salad instead of at the side. This was changed 3 times and they still got it wrong. My rib eye steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. The fillet for my wife was overcooked, closer to well done than med rare. The waiters were all standing at their station talking to each other and not looking at the customers so I could not attract their attention to point this out. It was only when the table next to us got served that our waiter came to us. He agreed that the steaks were over cooked and offered to get a fresh meal for my wife and get it takedn off the bill. I had to eat my meal on my own and then my wifes meal arrived when I was finished. The bill arrived with the cost of my wifes steak still on it and was taken off when I pointed this out to our waiter, who seemed to blame everybody else for all the problems. I have visited a few M&C's over the years when I traveled with my business and the Edinburgh city centre one on a few occassions. I will never go back to the Crammond Brig branch as I feel the level of service was terrible and the communication between staff caused the problems. Des Docherty

Abit disappointed with this place. Having eaten in many MC this has got to be one of the worst. The food was ok but the consistency was terrible. I had the worst lettuce wedge I've ever seen at an MC and the steak was ok. Adding to the insult staff completely forgot about us when they changed over. Very unprofessional.

The food was great, and the atmosphere was lovely. Service was a little slow when it came to drinks (in comparison, we hardly had any wait for food), and not much attentiveness from waitstaff in terms of checking if we’d like another drink etc. However, staff were very polite and friendly.

The restaurant cancelled my booking with no explanation 2 hours before we were due to be in with no explanation. Tried to call multiple times when we arrived the restaurant was closed due to a powercut. I understand things like these happen but it would've been nice for even a generic send to all text apologising for the inconvenience.

Went after hearing a lot about this place , high expectations......... It was good don't get me wrong for a moment but didn't quite match what i expected ......however that said i would not be hesitant to return again 😊. Only real negative to speak of , was that my partners chicken starter came out cold/chilled in the middle ....., came back perfect after send back ...... We ate of the 3 course deal menu and it was all very well presented and tasty ....... I must return for a full steak dinner to give it a fair run ..... Bottom line , good grub , just make sure whats supposed to be hot is hot through ........

The food was amazing. Best T-bone I have ever had. 🍖 wow! Starter, main, desert, bottle of wine and a cocktail for two people was £140. 💸 I had a lovely time, however the staff were quite laid back. 🥂 My request for no cheese on the salad was ignored (I told server I had an Intolerance, nothing was done). 🚩 And I witnessed a server drop spoons on carpet and put them back in their cutlery drawer. 🚩 It was like watching Bistro Huddy. 😆 Anyways- I had a great night & would recommend because the food is just too good. ✅️🏁 You will have to book ahead, but it's quieter on a Sunday. 🕖

Another outstanding meal at Miller and Carter Cramond Brig. we love when we get the opportunity to have a meal at any Miller and Carter but particularly love the Cramond Brig. food was fantastic all 4 steaks cooked to perfection and great value for money. A special mention has to go to the onion loaf. Our only question is when will you open in Northern Ireland, we only get to enjoy your cuisine when visiting Scotland and England.
