Burr & Co. in Camden

Conocí amigos aquí el año pasado y fue genial, pero hoy fue una experiencia ‘nunca más’. £ 5 para una botella de coca caliente. £ 8 para queso rancio y sándwiches de encurtido (sin guarnición, solo dos rebanadas de pan una rebanada de cheddar y un poco de encurtido). La camarera dijo que guardan el pan en la nevera - creo que la realidad es que hacen sándwiches con días de anticipación y los guardan hasta que estén viciados. Nos quejamos y pedimos un reembolso que tomó 20 minutos de llenado de formularios y un viaje a la recepción del hotel para que pasaran siglos en el ordenador. No es de extrañar que te hagan pagar antes de que llegue la comida, probablemente demasiada gente intenta irse sin pagar cuando se cumple con esa norma. El menú tampoco coincide con lo que hay en Internet, la elección es mucho más limitada. Mi recomendación es la fantástica cafetería italiana en el jardín Russell Square donde fuimos después - debería haber ido allí primero!

Estábamos alojados en el Kimpton adjunto a este restaurante, así que bajamos a tomar un café por la mañana. Probamos un capuchino y un café con leche, y también pedimos un sándwich de bagel de tocino / aguacate. El café era espectacularmente malo — extremadamente agrio, casi inbebible. Es posible que puedas enmascarar la acidez si tuvieran una estación de leche/crema, pero no tenían una, y no nos apetecía pedirles que agregaran más. El sándwich de bagel fue pre-hecho y recién sacado de un refrigerador, sin tostarlo. Es una lástima, porque el entorno es muy agradable. No volveremos.

Really beautiful hotel lobby, especially for bringing a laptop and working. But oh my lord the food is CRAAAAZY overpriced. I'm gathering they have recently reduced their menu and only have sandwiches available. But the price is eye watering for a tiny wrap/sandwich. Won't be eating there ever again. The coffee is also blisteringly expensive at over £5 (if you have non-dairy milk).

Nicht zu empfehlen Jetzt ist klar, wie es dazukommt, dass es keine neuere Bewertungen gibt. Externe Gäste sind nicht willkommen bzw. werden eher abgewiesen. Laut Personal haben sie dann nur ein paar Kuchen/Muffins in Angebot. Schade

Gorgeous building and looks very cozy and comfy. Massive pain au chocolat which was delicious. However the coffee was not good. Whether not to our taste but it tasted super bitter. For context We are major coffee lovers who only drink quality ground coffee at home.

Excellent service. Amazing dining area with lots of tables, chairs, cozy nooks. Great value: worth the price. Expertly made coffee. Clean restrooms. Perfect in every way.

Traditionele English Breakfast genomen, tja we zijn er toch voor in Engeland. Voor de prijs hoef je het niet te doen. Behoorlijk duur £18 en de koffie (apart) is niet te drinken. ( het is geen douwe of perla). GEEN toast, maar wat we kregen was wel echt lekker. Personeel was wel zeer vriendelijk en het was echt traditioneel engels. LET OP: ook hier worden weer service kosten van 12% op de rekening gezet.

The place and atmospeher is the best thing. Great pizzas otherwise the food were quite ordinary. The service were not so good but the personal were nice when we had a chance to talk to the them

Its been a while since I've come here, but as I've finally gotten time off from work i decided to come back and eat here, however, i didn't even get to do so as once i walked in a woman noticed me and began clearing up a spot for me, which i thought was nice, however, i asked if i could sit in another spot as i didn't really want to eat dinner on a large table with other people already seated at it. However, she refused to let me sit at the spot i suggested and asked if I was a student, to which i said no, i do not understand how me being a student or not would change anything? and I thought it was a weird question to ask me, i also thought it was strange she wanted to me to eat my dinner at a table with strangers? i assumed that she thought I was a student as the other students were Asian too? i hope not, but I couldn't help but feel that way, i didn't really want to fight with her on this so i ended up leaving, pretty upset tbh and left a bad taste in my mouth. I do hope it wasn't due to racism, and that it was all a misunderstanding. After looking through other reviews, Ive noticed other Asian people have also had a similar situation to me. It is unfortunate, that it is racism, please do not come here, I would not suggest it anymore. There are much nicer places to eat and study/work or read if you are or are not a student. And they aren't as expensive. I honestly didn't mind spending some money as long as it was nice and decent, however, i will not be coming to this place anymore.

Although my family and I greatly enjoyed coffee and lunch here just before Christmas, I was shocked at the behaviour of the hostess as we entered the restaurant. We had reserved a table over the phone for one time, and were informed that we were supposedly an hour late for our booking. There clearly was an issue with the booking software on the restaurant end, or perhaps poor phone signal when making the booking, which itself is not a massive issue, as mistakes do happen. However, the hostess saw fit to correct my mother when she asserted that she had made the booking for the time at which we had arrived, and rudely told us "we can still accommodate you", which I personally felt was unnecessary considering the restaurant was practically empty. Also, considering that we were attending with my father, who is recovering from a TBI in hospital (which was obvious from his appearance), I thought it would have been prescient for this hostess to read the room and have a little compassion. I cannot fault the food and drink, and every other member of staff was absolutely lovely and very accommodating. However, first impressions are very important and unfortunately your hostess' performance was incredibly off-putting, especially at such a bittersweet time for our family.

Ridiculous prices for what you get! Smallest coffee I think I have ever had from any establishment. They had made it so I paid - £5.18! Then after I realise 70p of that is a tip! On a take away coffee! Don’t waste your money or time here you will get better service and coffee (and more of it) in Pret opposite! It’s a shame as the hotel and the service there is perfect this place does not mirror that in the slightest.

We must have been invisible as getting server help was near impossible. Food was average at best. Wouldn’t recommend. 12.5% add on for service ridiculous given experience.

terrible. I come here all the time but now they prioritise seating for hotel guests when it gets busy? will not be coming back

We pre-booked lunch here. It was a week day but pretty busy. We were served by Naeera, who is a lovely lady, efficient and friendly. The food was delicious, we were told it would take about 15 - 20 mins, as I ordered Steak. The service was great and we didn't feel rushed, even at the end of the meal. It is an excellent venue for lunch, dinner or just coffee and a snack. We look forward to returning.

I was staying in London nearby. I called in for an early evening drink. Unfortunately the only real beer was out of stock! I can't believe that any place could be so poor as to run out of beer. Yes, changing barrels and temporarily unavailable, but not out of stock. Called in for breakfast the following day. Things improved and the breakfast was by and large OK. Had the English breakfast. This could be improved by having a better quality sausage and also black pudding which was not as tasty as that you can buy in supermarkets!!

We came here for lunch. It was quiet, as it was a Monday but the service was good. We waited a while for the food but it is always cooked fresh, so comes out hot and tasty. It was my husband's birthday and we happened to mention it to one of the waitresses. After our lunch they brought him a little plate with small desserts on and Happy Birthday painted in chocolate. The staff all sang Happy birthday to him, which was a nice touch.
