Service was shocking all looked like they didn't want to be there and like they already had an issue with you.. about 3 members of staff on all rude.Took our meals to the wrong table after waiting half an hour then 3 tables that ordered after us got there meal and ares came another half an hour later.I had steak which was just about warm and VERY fatty for a sirloin. Partner had burger which was same temperature and nothing special.Overall probably the worst meal and service I've ever recieved.. whole table outside full of plates and empty glasses attracting flies etc. Do not go.

Review based on my visit on 20th April 2015.Arrived approximately 16.30hrs and it would of been nice if someone greeted us straight away, thus to start things on a positive note.(STARTER) I had the Golden Breaded Mushrooms for starters, these come over cooked and has a struggle to get my fork into them.(MAIN COURSE) I had the Gammon for main course, it was nice, even though I've had better before.(PUDDING) I had the Sticky Toffee, very nice.(STAFF) There was enough staff on duty, and on the whole they were friendly, but they were poorly trained and there did not seem to being led in the right direction. This is a management failure! The service could be so much better.Would I eat here again? I'm in no rush to go back!!!

We've been coming to The Burnt Stump on and off as a couple for about a year, my partner has been coming here since his teens and we've never had a bad experience here. We mostly frequent this establishment as it is close to our places of work and is on our way home and serves food till 9pm, which suits our working day nicely. The staff are always ridiculously friendly (despite being rushed off their feet) and we are always warmly greeted. We are warned about food waiting times when we arrive and it always arrives in a shorter time scale than estimated, the quality of food has always been of a decent standard but tonights meal was quite exceptional! We strongly recommend the mixed grill (large appetite required!) and the sirloin with port and stilton sauce - both plentiful, cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty! It can get quite noisy when busy (as expected) but we recommend sitting in the booths at the far end of the venue for less of a 'walk-through'.A beautiful setting, a great out-of-town visit and a decent meal for weary workers!

Driven past quite a few times but decided to pop in today for a drink. The pub was very busy and some tables were reserved but we managed to find a table. There was a lunch menu on the table with a list of sandwiches, so we decided to try the turkey, brie and cranberry, for just £9.95. Not really expecting much the food arrived promptly and we were pleasantly surprised. The chips were fresh chips, skin on and cooked to perfection. The turkey was slightly warm and served on lovely soft fresh bread, even the mixed leaf salad was nice. By the end of it we were full and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also there is a wide range of beers, cider, spirits and soft drinks available all served by lovely & friendly staff. Don't pass by this pub, drop in and feel the welcoming atmosphere that is a classic village pub!

We had small fish, chips and peas. Only £4.95! Really tasty! Chips we piping hot and fresh and the fish was delicious. Parking was a bit tricky as there are other food outlets and not many spaces, but all good. Staff were friendly too!

The food is amazing, the atmosphere is so warm and welcoming and the staff go above and beyond. Buy one get one free deal is very good and dogs are allowed in the premises, but all dogs are well behaved and you are almost unaware of them! Great for occasions but equally good for a relaxed family meal. Highly reccomend It!

Fab pub with such a vibrant atmosphere, weather you’re in for a lovely meal or a couple of beers you always feel welcomed by the lovely staff. Thank you for making it like a village pub we’ve needed.
