We were an extended family of six and everyone of us left feeling like we'd had a fantastic dinner. Everything was brilliant, from the sourdough bread to the garlic and saffron tiger prawn. Will be coming back.

Burnt Umber is now offering a dinner menu and I love it ! Innovative and very tasty, every dishes are full of flavour and very well presented. I was really impressed by the chestnut soup. So unusual and so delicious! Not mentioning, a very welcoming team in a lovely environment. Thank you Burnt Umber and keep surprising us.

My family and I have been coming to Burnt Umber since it opened, a few years ago. This place is just fabulous for multiple reasons: the food is purely delicious, whether it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is not just the delicious food that makes this place magical, but the friendly, caring atmosphere, too. Another thing that makes this place exciting is that while Burnt Umber team keeps all customers' favourites in its menu, they also introduce something new to their customers from time to time. So this time, we decided to try their new dinner menu, and it was just fantastic! Thank you, Burnt Umber, for keeping up your high standards and for making us feel so warmly welcome to your place. Keep smashing it!

We always try to pop by when we are in the area, we love it here as it has a very friendly and relaxing atmosphere, and it just gets better, the redecoration is really spot on. It was cold when we went so I went for a combo of butternut squash soup with truffle oil, with garlic toast and mulled wine. Both hit the spot, the soup was sublime actually, compliments to the chef! The mulled wine was great, and the combination really warmed me up! Can’t wait to come back and try the new dinner menu.

What a found! Christmas salad looks great and does magic to a mood. Grilled radicchio, blue cheese, sweet pear and hazelnut dressing. Thank you, Burnt Umber for being so creative with your lunch menu and fixing my vibes.

I went with a group of friends to try something new and have a chat. We felt so welcome. Very cosy feeling thanks to the staff and the menu is quite unique. I have never tried chestnut soup before and have to admit that it’s very authentic autumn dish. I loved it. I also have chosen salmon with saffron souse - it was very moist and tender, great with a glass of lovely Italian wine. The whole experience was fantastic, hope to be back for another special occasion. 😍

Had lunch before attending an event at the London Stadium. We had pre booked but arrived an hour early, the staff made us welcome and took our orders. The lady taking our orders was patient and explained the menus and described the drinks on the list.. They have a different selection of beers supplied by a local brewery which regularly changes. The food arrived . I had the Goulash it came with sour dough and was very filling An all pleasurable experience.

Went to this restaurant pretty hungover and was brought back to life with one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Lovely family running the place, great service and great coffee. Will definitely be back.

This is a family-run and a community-oriented restaurant. And what's the most important is that they serve food that I like. Neither too meaty, nor too superfoody. imple, fresh and delicious. My favourites are their grilled vegetables on bread, and the lentil burger with chunky chips is not bad, especially with a specially selected local beer offer. Do not forget to get a truly excellent coffee at the end (or start)! Staff is very careful and kind, what makes it also very cosy for family visits with small kids. It is also worth mentioning there's a shop with well-selected food product, including my favourite balkan delicacy - ajvar.

Amazing food and such friendly service. I’ve been their a few times for lunch and today went for breakfast. The food is fresh and high quality and super reasonably priced. and as I’ve been keeping pretty risk adverse due to covid, I’ve always been able to get a table outside which is great (and their are plenty inside).

Under rated cafe, favourite place to eat in HW. Relaxed vibe, great food (fresh ingredients, generous portions and one of the best bean burgers I’ve ever eaten). Staff are friendly. It’s the perfect place to take friends for a chill evening for eating and drinking, as you are welcome to stay as long as you want.

Even by hackney standards this cafe is way too noisy. The kitchen staff had their radio on which everyone in the cafe could hear, and the front of house staff then ramped up the cafe music to cover it. People at the till were having to shout to be heard. It’s a shame because this could be a really nice place … the food was good and the service was friendly (although when I mentioned the volume and competing sound systems the cashier said that they would be bored if they didn’t have their music on so not quite sure if the customer was their first priority).

This is a gem of a cafe/deli in one of the quieter Hackney Wick streets. It's a super friendly, family-run Serbian place, which offers breakfast, brunch and lunch as well as a sizeable deli with many health, organic and ethnic food products. Outside seating is...

Zeer vriendelijke host, lekkere koffie en gezellig interieur. Je zou er bijna voorbij lopen, maar is zeker de moeite waard om eens langs te gaan en even uit te rusten in een van de zachte zetels.
