You only get the good location with friendly service. Food is average. Hamburgers have overcooked meat and very thick bun so it is not to come back.

Overall good food. Delicious wings, I think the best at the place. Good potatoes and chicken strips. The burger was very tasty and the ingredients were good, but the bread was a little dry, otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

Needed a quick turnaround to make a concert. Arrived without a booking and Jasmine and the team did a great job of accommodating me and getting me on my way after a very nice meal.

Fire burgers and super friendly staff! Highly recommend!

The picture on the TA with the stacked patties is not what the burger patties look like. They are very flat, and formed. Overall, the burger isn't bad, it's just not as good as should be expected from a place that has burgers in the name. The loaded tater tots (bacon, cheese, sauce) save the day, though, as they are delicious--crispy, salty, bacon-y, and the sauce works perfectly. Note the tots are not shredded potato, but more like mashed potato inside. It's a very casual and noisy place that is very busy; surprisingly a reservation is necessary unless you are able to snag a high-top bar seat.

Me and some friends came to this restaurant, as we travelled to Edinburgh. Service was fast and very kind, the food was DELICIOUS, and the atmosphere was a good one, a vibe. 10/10, would come here again, and YOU should also come here if you’re hungry and looking for food on the Royal Mile.

Food was nice, but not the best burger or wings I have ever eaten. The restaurant has a good vibe and staff were friendly. Cheeky service charge added with the option to request it to be removed, which leaves the customer feeling very uncomfortable. The toilets were smelly.

Great food and very cool environment with all the music also liked the online ordering at the tables. Price was a little high but it was with every penny.

It was our first time in Edinburgh and so we decided to pop in to Burgers and Beers, and we were not disappointed!! All of the staff greeted us with warm smiles as went in, and we were served by Mac who was so kind and lovely, food was delivered quickly and was absolutely delicious - I highly recommend the frying Scotsman paired with the Maltsmith lager! Also my girlfriend says the onion rings were the best onion rings she has ever had. All in, we had a fantastic time and we would definitely return again, even just to come and say hi to Mac!

First of all, great service straight away, made to feel very welcome. However, it went downhill quickly. The food and drink was unfortunately overpriced, mainly due to the proximity of being right in the middle of the tourist area. The burgers were a bit dry but decent enough but £18 is expensive, especially when chips is extra. The milkshakes are also too small at £9 each. Burgers and Beer Grillhouse is recommended for the staff only but be careful regarding the prices.

It's overpriced for what it is. I've had better burgers for half the price. Burger alone is £18+ that's with no sides. Pint of Heineken £8.40 , that's daylight robbery. Batter on the onion rings etc isn't pleasant and ours were over fried. X 2 adults, 2 kids , no starters , no dessert £144. Far too expensive and not actually that good.

Super delicious food and very friendly staff. Comfortably furnished. Music a bit too loud, but that's a matter of opinion. At certain times it makes sense to reserve in advance, but it's easy to do online. Absolutely recommended!

The food was ok. I felt that the value wasn’t good, however. Keep in mind, I’ve only eaten here once, so maybe other food options from the burger I got are better. My burger had a heavy mustard/vinegar flavor in the sauce that I didn’t care for. Maybe people that favor a mustard flavor would like it. The meal was quite expensive for what you get too. My wife and I both got a burger and fries and the meal was ~$77 after a 10% optional tip (more on that later). I did get loaded fries, but that is a hefty bill for the food we got in my opinion. I believe you get a better value from a Five Guys type restaurant and I generally think Five Guys is a little overrated. Maybe I’ve been spoiled with good and relatively cheap burgers back in the U.S. I didn’t appreciate the way this restaurant went about adding the tip. It feels sneaky to me. I requested the bill after we were finished and the waitress gave it to me after a long wait and asked me to look over it to make sure everything looked good. I thought she meant to check that we were charged for what we ordered. However, there was a 10% optional tip added to the bill that I can only assume is the reason I was asked to review the bill. It is optional, so you can request to have it removed. However, I assume most people are like me and do not want to deal with the social awkwardness of publicly asking for a tip to be removed and I think they know this. It also doesn’t feel like “gratuity” if it’s tacked on automatically. Being from the U.S., I’m no stranger to tipping after a sit down meal, but I believe the pay structure of waiters in the U.S. is different from the UK and they are not as reliant on tips for income. I’d imagine that that cost is reflected in the more expensive food here. I don’t mind tipping for good service, but I didn’t think my service was all that spectacular and the sneaky way the tip is inserted into the bill left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe others see it differently though.

Served by Mac... very warm and welcoming and a good laugh. Food was good if I could change one thing would be that the peanut butter stack came out warmer.

Great experience! Walked at 7 on a Thursday after being turned down by a few other restaurants on the mile, we had a great experience. Ewan was a lovely server and was very helpful/accommodating.

The staff were amazing, especially with our Autistic son and emotional support dog (who got loads of fussing). The food was delicious with the oreo milk shake being a massive hit for the little man and craft beer for the big man!! Our server Mac was brilliant, going above and beyond. Can't wait to visit again, 2 dad's, Dylan and the Charles the Westie!

Food was excellent but pricey. Overall let down by poor staff and revolting toilets.

This place is great! We hung out here twice in a group of 12-15. They make an Old Fashion with a really smooth scotch and the food is awesome, especially the dirty dog and fries. ONLY complaint is it gets a little to warm inside when dressed for a Scottish spring.

Superb food, on the higher end price so a bit expensive given also that fries are not included. But the burger was exceptional

If I could give the service a 10 I would. Everytime we come to Edinburgh we now make it a point to visit. Food was fab. Whiskey sauce in particular was amazing. Mac who served us was wonderful. Friendly, attentive, funny and had some great recommendations. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, she is someone who you just dream of hiring! We will be back on our next visit

Fantastic restaurant, the food was amazing as was the food. We went during the day so it was quite empty so we were seen to quite quickly and the food was not long after.

I had one of the best beef burgers here and would definitely return whenever I’m in Edinburgh. Our group of seven was well accommodated, and the service was excellent. A special thanks to Jasmine and the rest of the staff for their attentive and friendly service, which made our visit even more enjoyable.

Fantastic burger place, cosy atmosphere and incredible food. The Frying Scotsman burger was a highlight, as were the fries and sauces. The peppercorn sauce and sweet chilli jam were perfect, wish the were sold in bottles! The staff were excellent, very very friendly and eager to answer any questions. Ben was a star and a great local guide also, cheers mate 👍

A traditional burger joint with a Scottish twist, highly recommended. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very welcoming. We personally appreciate the attention of Ewan who was very kind to us and recommended places in the city to visit.

Very cozy place, perfect to come for a quick but quality burger (no fast food). To highlight the service of the waiters, especially Ewan who recommended us at all times and made us feel very welcome.

Excellent place to have a beer if you are visiting Edinburgh. The place is not very big but cozy and has a terrace, starters and very good burgers, it is appreciated to find places like this after a good walk along the Royal mile.

Amazing atmosphere, most amazing service. Ewan served us and he was honestly probably the best waiter I’ve ever had, incredibly friendly and so so genuine. Also the best burger I’ve ever had. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Thank you Ewan!
