If I could give the service a 10 I would. Everytime we come to Edinburgh we now make it a point to visit. Food was fab. Whiskey sauce in particular was amazing. Mac who served us was wonderful. Friendly, attentive, funny and had some great recommendations. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, she is someone who you just dream of hiring! We will be back on our next visit

Fantastic restaurant, the food was amazing as was the food. We went during the day so it was quite empty so we were seen to quite quickly and the food was not long after.

The burger was absolutely delicious, beer was great, and the service excellent too. Zane the bartender and server was friendly and efficient. All around glad I stopped for burger and beer.

I had one of the best beef burgers here and would definitely return whenever I’m in Edinburgh. Our group of seven was well accommodated, and the service was excellent. A special thanks to Jasmine and the rest of the staff for their attentive and friendly service, which made our visit even more enjoyable.

Burger nothing special (although it was good) and expensive for my taste. They come without potatoes. The truth is that I came because I was in a hurry but it is not a place where I returned.

Fantastic burger place, cosy atmosphere and incredible food. The Frying Scotsman burger was a highlight, as were the fries and sauces. The peppercorn sauce and sweet chilli jam were perfect, wish the were sold in bottles! The staff were excellent, very very friendly and eager to answer any questions. Ben was a star and a great local guide also, cheers mate 👍

Very cozy place, perfect to come for a quick but quality burger (no fast food). To highlight the service of the waiters, especially Ewan who recommended us at all times and made us feel very welcome.

A traditional burger joint with a Scottish twist, highly recommended. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very welcoming. We personally appreciate the attention of Ewan who was very kind to us and recommended places in the city to visit.

Excellent place to have a beer if you are visiting Edinburgh. The place is not very big but cozy and has a terrace, starters and very good burgers, it is appreciated to find places like this after a good walk along the Royal mile.

Nice burgers , decent size, service was very good and food arrived quickly, the only thing that i didn’t like is hand cut chips, it was actually wedges potatoes and they were a bit soggy , order normal fries instead

Myself, friend and our sons came for 2 visits hours apart on monday the 17th Feb. We had a very warm welcome, fantastic service and the best shakes ever for our boys. Food was delicious. We underestimated the time we needed before visit to another tourist attraction. Our server gave us take away boxes and every need was met with a smile. We were there the evening of February 15 with my boyfriend. Cool place with cool vibes. Very copious and delicious burgers! The personnel working here is genuinely kind. Special thanks to our waiter, a tall man with dark hair. He was genuinely kind from the beginning to the end. We had a little chat about a bus tour nearby, and he kindly recommended us a few places to visit in Edinburgh. We've been to the market he recommended us to visit, and we had a lovely moment indeed thanks to his recommendations! And again, great food of course :)

We had dinner at this highly recommended place and were amazed by the burgers and the attention received from the employees.

My partner and I recently visited after searching for a decent burger and finding this place through previous reviews. Sadly, it did not live up to our expectations. The buns were dry and tasted stale. The burger was not overly hot more lukewarm. The ‘hand cut’ chips were frozen potatoe wedges that had been fried. Overall a disappointing experience and not a place we will be returning to. I will note that the staff were exceptional. Very polite and friendly.

We went to this place for lunch, having been attracted by a series of positive reviews. The place is nice and very charming, the girl who served us was very smiling and helpful. What you expect from a place called "Burgers and Beers" is nothing more than a good burger. Too bad they served us hamburgers with non-fresh bread (it was crumbling and hard, it must have been there for more than 2 days). The meat tasted burnt, the overall sandwich wasn't well blended and wasn't tasty at all. Among other things, as if that wasn't enough, we were sick until the evening. I recommend changing the name of the place or specializing in something else.

We want to highlight the outstanding service from a tall, thin waiter (15th February at dinner time). Definitely the best service of our weekend in Edinburgh. Regarding the food and drinks, maybe a little bit expensive but the general experience was good. Thank you!

Guys, I don't understand all of you writing reviews raving about the burgers?! The burgers were so disappointing. They were dry and overcooked - we weren't even asked how we wanted them done as we ordered - that should have been the first red flag! Most decent burger establishments will always serve them on the pink side but these were such a let down. If I had been ordering from a run of the mill pub, I would have been disappointed, but ordering from here at £18 a burger (not including any sides) while the menu raves about grass fed quality butchers meat etc, no this was beyond a disappointment. Our family are big milkshake fans. So when I saw their milkshakes were £8.75 - I knew they would be the real deal! Generally if a milkshake costs over £6.50 on a menu in my experience it will be thick and legit, but no...disappointed again! This was not an American style milkshake, it was thin and the glass size was very small considering it was basically £9. Someone on these reviews said it was the best strawberry milkshake they'd ever had in their life and my friend you need to get out more, because this didn't even scale on my radar of milkshakes worth drinking. It was my daughter's 11th birthday - she picked the restaurant based on wanting a decent burger, a milkshake and a fuss made of her for her bday. As a plus point I mentioned it was her bday and they brought her a free chocolate dessert with ice cream to the table and she was delighted about that. They also give great kids packs with loads of activities for them to complete and cute burger glasses etc for them to wear. The service was good, but truly I cannot recommend coming here when there are so many other restaurants in Edinburgh serving far superior burgers, legit milkshakes and all of that at a lower price point too.

Food was so delicious but we were kind of felt cold. The waiter was so helpful and said that we can chose any burger and they can make with chicken or veggie.

Honestly the best meal in Edinburgh 🍔 This is a must do whist here. Burgers were amazing and the perfect size, sauces were homemade and lovely. Local beers (including their own) and cocktails were expertly made 🍸 Don’t Miss Out!

€90 for 2 burgers, 1 chip and 2 drinks....shocking. Disappointing as we were here two years ago and its was amazing and half the price. No price on the menu for burgers....because if you knew it was €20 for just a single burger you'd walk away...

First time there as this was a Christmas gift. On entering, we were greeted with a friendly face and smile and ushered to our seats. The atmosphere was very nice and you felt at home. The food was excellent and lots on the plate. The service was excellent and the overall impression was 1st class. We would recommend this place and give it 5 stars. We will be back.

The menu is technically a bit basic, but something about this place has me stopping in 2 or 3 times every trip to Edinburgh. This year was a winter holiday visit and their "Ham Who Stole Christmas" burger was incredible! Staff are always great. Seats are comfy, plenty of space in the dining room. Service is always quick. Will be back next time I'm in town!

The restaurant is very pretty, with a pleasant atmosphere and a warm welcome. The servers are dynamic, smiling and really caring, which makes the meal even more pleasant. The portions are generous and the meat was tasty, although slightly burnt in places, which is a small area for improvement. Overall, a very good place to enjoy a quality burger in a nice setting!

Very well decorated place where you mainly have burgers to choose from, as well as wings and ribs. The burger menu is extensive and with surprising mixes, and they also have a gluten-free bread option. However, the burger was not at the level we would have liked, the meat disk was somewhat thin and we were not asked at any time about the point of the meat, so it was very dry and overcooked. If the meat is not completely delicious, it will ruin your burger. With all this, a hamburger plus a serving of potatoes (which go separately). It made me a little hungry. Another thing that we don't really like is that the bill includes an extra 10% tip to your bill. Which seems super violent to me, since a tip should be something that comes from the customer and not from the restaurant itself. You have the option to remove it if you tell them, but it is very violent. In their favor I will say that the attention they gave us was simply unbeatable, very attentive and friendly at all times.

If you like burgers, you have a good variety at this place. The decoration of the place is brutal, just by seeing the entrance you can already get an idea of ​​what you are going to find inside. There are much cheaper options in the city. Without a doubt that was what we liked the least and what didn't fit us with the good service they provide, the atmosphere there, the music is good...if they lowered the prices or added fries, a drink or something to accompany the burger they would I would put more stars. The beers we ordered were delicious and they served us very quickly. We ordered the burgers: - Man vs Burger: it was delicious and the quantity was not bad. - Frying scots man: not a bad option if you fancy trying haggis in burger form. Advisable. - Yippe-ki-yay: we didn't like it at all, we expected something else and we didn't get it right. - The nut cracker: this was undoubtedly the best option, it is something different from what we had tried before. Advisable. By the way, they have wet lemon wipes on the tables to clean your hands, something we really liked.

Truffle shuffle is the best burger i have ever have in my entire life. I have to say that i’m not a truffle person but the balance is incredible. Also uncle sam is a great great burger. Onion rings and rosemary potatoes are also perfect. This place deserves it all. Applause to the chef!!

We had a wonderful meal, food is really good. However, be aware that you are expected to clear the table within an hour and fifteen minutes. We did not know until the waiter told us 20 minutes before we had to go. Just so you know, food is definitely worth to pay a visit!

I am a local and this is one of my favourite places to eat. The staff is so lovely, the food is top notch and yeah it can be a bit touristy but it’s such a genuinely nice place. Also 5 stars for dealing with food allergies I have a severe nut allergy and my dad is lactose intolerant and we both managed to eat safely and taste lots of different delicious things. The atmosphere is amazing (GREAT indie playlist except they never play the vaccines)

Long queue if you don't have a reservation. The prices are a little high but I expected better quality, especially the meat. I wasn't asked about the doneness of my burger and I expected it to be done, since it's a hamburger restaurant. To my regret, the meat was well done, which didn't make the burger tasty. Service ok.

Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I enjoyed every aspect of our evening. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the Christmas burger with Brie, the Scottie dog hot dog, and the haggis loaded fries. Each item was brilliant! My husband enjoyed his beer and the Macaroon cocktail was an absolute win for both of us. Service was very good too. Ben was particularly helpful in explaining different items on the menu and making us feel welcome. Very kind, chilled, and helpful. A wonderful evening out!

Place where you can enjoy a good beer along with your dish, in a central location and where the quality-price ratio is adequate. The chicken was amazing and filling. I loved this place and it is appreciated that the service was also pleasant. Without a doubt I recommend this site and would repeat.
