Burger King in Powys

Needed a quick meal after the rally. The floor was covered in food and rubbish, the service was slow and the food indifferent. The staff clearly can't be bothered to put any effort in or keep the place clean. It was disgusting 🤢

Peppercorn crispy chicken £8.49 for a sub standard warm sandwich!!! Order was also short of portion of fries. £32 for very poor food, will be stopping in the garage over the road next time were passing through Builth!

I has a 1 star hygiene rating but it was class mush. You should go there bucks. But I did have explosive 🧨 diarrhoea for 2 weeks😂

Website states open until 9pm on Saturday night. Arrived at 8.45pm after a 90 minute drive home and the restaurant was already closed. Called the manager this morning who offered excuses but didn’t convince me that the website would be updated. However, having now read the recent reviews, I think I was fortunate to find it closed!

Arrived in the morning just before 11:00 - lights on, staff inside, but couldn’t get in - walked round the back trying to find an entrance as everything was locked, only to be lambasted by the manager that “we don’t open until 11:00 - you shouldn’t be here” - No signage to show opening hours or that they were closed. FAIL. Premises outside filthy, full of rubbish and poorly presented. FAIL. Bins outside overflowing. FAIL. Waited until 11:00AM and went in. Grimy premises, unwashed tables, so I turned round and left having had enough. They seem to have forgotten that the business is to sell - if you’re closed, no signage and unwashed then the customer will go elsewhere like I did. Oh and on my last visit I got a bad stomach after eating here - Never again.

After stopping at restaurant today on way back from Liverpool to Blaenau Gwent with my husband and 2 children , I went to put my 1 son in high chair but after seeing the mess on there I didn’t bother , the other child wanted to use toilet and I couldn’t believe the mess and filth I was seeing so left immediately without ordering food , contacted store via telephone from outside and asked to speak to manger for head office number to which he gave me a mobile number , he said he’d cleaned the toilets himself 🤮 , rang mobile number I was given which was supposedly to be headoffice to it being busy , rang again a few minutes later to speak to a lady with not very good English I asked was she the managers wife to which she replied yes I put phone down , I was then rung back by another lady off same number stating she was another manager of the branch I explained I’d emailed headoffice and contacted environmental and she put phone down

The ambiance was frosty and the decor was outdated and drab. There was an unlocked broom cupboard that a girl was doing handstands in with no shoes on. Weird. The food quality was dry and the staff seemed disillusioned with the whole thing. All in all I will not be making a reappearance.

Deeply regret visiting here yesterday with my family. Praying that we do not become ill as a result. The toilets were extremely dirty, overflowing sanitary bins, several used sanitary products on the floors in the disabled and women's toilet. The men’s toilet was not in use so the men were using the disabled toilets. There was no hand wash in any of the toilets. I informed staff that the toilets were in immediate need of cleaning , in case they were not aware and I also reported that there was no hand wash for us to wash our hands. Understanding that during busy periods toilets can need additional cleaning. They stated that they knew there was no hand wash, the company that supply the hand wash only come every 2 weeks. The hand wash has run out and they can do nothing about it until the company come back I could not believe what I was hearing so I asked to speak to the manager, I was sure there must be a mistake, that if they knew there was no hand wash they would resolve this as it is a public safety issue, and easily resolved. The manager came the the counter, I repeated my concerns to him about there being no soap for customers to wash their hands and how this was essential to avoid the spread of bacteria especially in a restaurant preparing and selling food, customers using shared screens to order food etc, He repeated what the first staff member said, that the company that provides soap only comes every 2 weeks and they had run out so there was nothing he could do. I pointed to across the road where there is a shop and said surely in the interest of hygiene for the customers and staff they could buy some hand wash until the company that supplies the hand wash returns. The manager said ‘no why should I pay for it out of my own money?’ I said surely you can get some as this is essential for customers and staff to be able to wash their hands after using the toilet , a basic need, to prevent germs spreading and potentially people becoming Ill. He then laughed and said ‘ this is boring. I told him that I could not believe that he was laughing and thought this was acceptable and I left the restaurant very concerned for the welfare of customers eating here with such dangerous hygiene conditions. I am shocked and horrified at the responce he gave these staff need educating about basic food hygiene and health and safety. People’s health is being put at risk. I am also thinking that maybe the company that supply the hand wash may also empty the sanitary bins which is why they were overflowing onto the floors?

- Menu screens did not work and staff were too rude to assist (screens were clearly also contaminated with germs - DIRTY) - Tables not cleaned and floor looked like it had just had the local cows in - Mens toilets were closed which I understand if they are unavailable but then we go onto the disabled toilet where we had to result in using….used tampax on the floor with no toilet roll and no hand wash & toilet paper all over the floor. - My daughter then went to use the women’s toilets where there was no hand was either and the sink full of toilet paper and general mess. - Manager made aware of the toilets before we was eating as we wanted to wash our hands - as we was leaving they still hadn’t been sorted. - Manager laughed as we raised the concern again - the toilets area managed apparently by a 3rd party and they only get hand wash delivered every 2 weeks. Staff raised her voice & very rude (I think you need to invest in customer service). - If the toilets don’t have hand wash then what dose the kitchen use? What do your staff use to wash their hands? Formal complaint and raising to local health & hygiene with relevant photos. If you’re wanting to stop by for some lunch there is a lovely Greggs across road.

So, just been up Pen Y Fan and my friends and I were ravenous, and looking for a nutritious meal in a hygienic establishment… oh well, next time I will go to the skip round the back of Greggs! Quick tip. Ensure order board works, sweep, clean ladies toilets- filthy… 👎

Not many places were open to eat when we visited Wales due to Covid-19 (we booked this trip in October 2019). Driving through Builth Wells we stopped for a burger at least it guaranteed something to eat that day.

I go to this restaurant quite often and the staff are always welcoming and polite, the food and service is always great too, whenever I’m having a bad day they always put a smile on my face when I go in for food

Staff are very very rude & incompetent, not willing to explain anything, all they say is that they do not know, they are not from around here, manger Karol is the worst, any price related questions asked, he almost looks down at u as if u couldn’t afford to pay anything! Had high hopes for this place after its refurb but was shocked to walk in to find dirty tables, rubbish on the floor and all the staff stood around on their phones. Having witnessed how rude the staff were to a customer who was complaining about the state of the place, we turned round and walked out.

Stopped for a quick bite on way to South Wales. Lots of cars waiting for drive thru. Same car waiting at front 12 mins later when I finally decided to leave. Used restroom (which was clean), then went to order food......all 20 tables filled with empty food packaging people waiting had to clear their own tables!!! Two tables filled with piles of trays. Very poor hygiene. Service exceptionally slow and 3 errors in the time I was there. Finally decided to leave after 12 mins of waiting, without being served - and only 2 people in front of me in queue. Customer service was non-existent. Very Poor.

Not long opened after a drive thru has been added, only to find the drive thru was closed and blocked off with cones whilst 5 vehicles were waiting. So reluctantly went inside. There was one young girl serving at the counter and there was clearly 6 people who had ordered and waiting for their food. We stood in the queue for 25 minutes and not one person received their food out of the people who were waiting and one person extra had been served. Just before we gave up a man who was waiting asked where was his food because his order was not on the processing screen and was greeted with a limp sorry and the server then wandered off. McDonald’s here we come!

The staff in this branch don't seem to have the first idea of customer service.You're lucky if you get what you order and it's invariably luke warm. Very poor indeed.

Each time I go into the Burger King Builth wells I question why I ever thought to go back in there. Over priced, un-hygienic and uncomfortable atmosphere with the supervisor shouting very loudly and talking badly to other members of staff. I thought I’d write this purely cause of how uncomfortable the poor young girl who was obviously being trained looked, and was being spoken to. However the overal reason for this review, was down to when I went in prior where a young girl was very sick in work, sneazinto Her hands in the back of the workspace and not washing them, wearing outdoor jackets inside the workspace and whilst holding a cigarette in her hand continued to press buttons on the frying machines. When another member of staff (new young boy) saw I was aware of this he asked her to go outside for Herndon’s break, only to be spoken to terribly by the previously mentioned supervisor! would never reccoment, but sometimes chillie cheese bites need to be eaten!

Previous peoples reviews says it all .But here goes. My family and freinds have used this place for many years at least twice a year when on our way ti Tenby when it was A LITTLE CHEF and when it combined with BURGER KING, always a welcome ''halfway stop'' for a meal and washroom facilities. Stoped there around noon on the 11th of May. What a dump this as become. Food cold and moist! Seating area like an old style greassy spoon cafe. Expected to clear up your own table which is'nt so bad but no sign of table arers being cleand. As for the toilets, least said the better.

Food - overpriced. Nothing like what's advertised. Bacon double cheeseburger- same size as MC Donald's 99p cheese burger but with extra small burger & 1/2 rasher of bacon!!!!

This place looks like a empty run down service station. Only half of it is open the other half is a few tables you can sit at if you want to but it’s a bit of a dive

I was travelling from Warrington to Port Talbot and i stopped at this Burger King for a bite to eat. I hardly every stop off at fast food chains but my choices where limited and my stomach was cramping like a runners legs after a full marathon. When i entered the fast food chain restaurant it was like a scene from the Chernobyl incident or the PS4 game Fallout. The young lady that served me looked like she was on her final warning and waiting for the next person to compliant so she could be made redundant to stop her nightmare of working in this overpriced pit. I ordered a XL bacon and cheese burger meal, after waiting over 15 mins for my meal i was served a burger which i could only describe as the rat burger in the film The Demolition Man but not even Sylvester Stallone in his prime could hold this burger down. I spent most of my time on the toilet when i got home, to the point i had to break out the double quilted bog roll to sooth the pain. I wouldn't bother stopping at this restaurant unless you want a few days of work. I can only describe the food as cold overpriced slop. Don't go here.

I visited with my teenage son. Disappointing food, service OK. The burger I had was lukewarm verging on cold. The coke was flat. Overall I won't be calling in again. The hygiene rating of 2 doesn't instil confidence either.

Went here on our way back from our holiday, was looking forward to however .. when we entered there was a man named Karol who didn’t even acknowledge the fact we was there, then when he decided he would take our order through ordering he decided to have a full blown argument with a poor young girl in there, which quite frank if I was the young girl I would’ve walked out! How embarrassing for her, poor thing. I couldn’t believe he did this in front of not just me and my family others too.. should be ashamed! He clearly had no customer service skills and the food was the worst thing I’ve eaten! Avoid this at all costs!

It amazes me when looking on this site and after a visit to Builth Wells' Burger King, how the company have intervened to make necessary improvements.

This is our normal halfway stop off when travelling between north & South Wales along the A470..... it has a toilet!

Went to buy family meals. No bacon so a large part of our order could not be met. No sprite so again can to substitute drinks. Not good enough BurgerKing.

The food was fine, service was fine - it's what we wanted for a quick bite to eat at a reasonable price.

Went into little chef at 4:30 to be told we close at 3:00 so went into Burgerking and asked the girl about the choice on the menu and chose what was a chicken strip burger meal. I sat down at the grubby table and waited. There were other people being served there take away meals. I was called and given my meal, while I was waiting there was the constant sound of a fire alarm style bell going off which was very annoying. Piping hot chips with a little salt, nice coffee if a little on the weak side and a soggy bun with something that resembled string in a soggy coating and tasted sweet, when I removed the coating the chicken seemed slimy so didn't eat it. When I left I went up to the young man behind the counter and gave him the burger and said it didn't taste right and was slimy to which he said right and walked off. I then left and went to my car and I will never return again.

Dirty three tables one used another full of left overs. Third table pitted with holes greasy i had to wipe it myself ,staff busy ,think only three on duty ,very dirty ,the food ,,well its disgracefull had to throw most of it away ,wont be back ,little chef next door closed ,are they the same firm ? dont know ,it was closed ,but people just sitting in there ,? Visitamos 17 mayo - había otros 6 personas pidiendo en el restaurante y 5 personal. Sólo pedimos batidos y patatas fritas y esperamos más de 20 minutos para nuestra orden. La persona a cargo cuidado de discutir con la otra persona en la caja, que parece que tuvieran un montón de cosas y cada miembro del personal parecía desinteresado. Nuestro pedido patatas fritas estaba equivocado - pedimos grandes y conseguimos regular, pero teniendo en cuenta los problemas pareciendo algo, decidimos no mencionar. No vamos a volver por un largo tiempo - una pena, ya que con un poco más de organización y trabajo en equipo ot sería decente.

Había estado en la carretera durante bastante tiempo. Mi hijo decidió que tenía hambre, así que paramos aquí. Food is dry, tasteless and inedible!!! Service was just as bad as the food. It eating area and food prep area looked unclean. Chips and food all over the floor.

I appreciate working at BK mustn't be the best job, but at least pretend you can be bothered to serve people.

I called here after seeing how dirty its neighbour was. I ordered my food, which they got wrong and re-did it. I decided just to eat in my car. Basically it was just a handy stop with a toilet and car park.

Very slow service and awful cold food try the snack van down the road you will not be disappointed the Welsh breakfast roll is absolutely massive.

I turned up on my coach with 59 soldiers they efficiently served every one of them fast and friendly great service guys will stop their again

we nipped in here to just grab a snack on our way through, inside was a bit stuffy and gloomy, kept getting stared at by staff, food we had was hot but was bog standard usual BK

Went there on a Friday evening, ended up spending £21 on 2 meals and sides, I'm not new to the burger king so I'm aware of the pricing, however when the meals are sub standard that's when I have an issue, had to wait about 10 minutes when it wasn't busy... The fries were disgusting...tasted like the oil hadn't been changed in ages and they were stone cold, the onion rings were also the same! And my burger...which is the most expensive one they do had some of the ingredients missing... Which defeated the point of me buying the premium burger in the 1st place, the only saving grace was the staff who were courteous and apologetic. How this place gets good reviews I don't know! "Have it your way"....if I had it my way this place would be sold off in the hopes someone could do the franchise justice!

Me and my family were on our way home from Brecon, and we saw Burger King and decided to stop. They were reasonably busy but they got through the queue quickly. The lady at the till was very polite and apologised for the wait. We placed our order and then she sat us down while we waited for our food. The restaurant was clean, and it was nice to see a member of staff out on the seating area checking everything. Overall this was the best fast food experience I have had by far and the staff were the reason for it. I suggest everybody visits this establishment and experience this great customer service. 10/10

Having waited an hour and a half at the llanedwedd arms for a meal we gave up and Burger King was still openNot quite how I envisaged my evening meal would be but by then I was so hungry and it was so late.

After waiting half an hour for my burger and having to put up with a rude member of staff named 'Ben' which insulted an order I was making. Overall, the place is very unhygienic and needs to be immediately reported to the health and hygiene department. I will not be returning anytime soon.

Stopped off at Burger King, Builth Wells during a long trip from North to South Wales.Dirty counter tops, dirty tables, other diners rubbish not cleared away. Salt, sugar and plastic stirrers not topped up.The Chicken Royale meal and fries were actually ok, but put off but uncleanliness of the place. The coffee to take away was supposed to be Latte, but was awful.Will not return in a hurry. Very poor.

Horrified to see what I wrote in 2013 praising this BK. There is very little option in this part of the world, so have used it quite a few times since then. Besides the fact that it's very grubby, the staff are either not interested or alive, and that you have to wait for ages for your 'fast' food, it's OK. If you read that again it means it's well worth finding somewhere else. Sorry BK.

Called in on the way back from a business meeting in Llandrindod wells. The middle aged short haired lady behind the counter serving was extremely rude, no please or thank you, wouldn't even let me finish my order before shouting the price. Food took a reasonable time to arrive but my burger was undercooked. Only toilets available were in little chef next door. Ladies was out of order and the horror when i used the disabled toilet due to no other option...absolutely filthy!! Tap fell off in my hand after use, no toilet paper, wet toilet paper and urine all over the floor - clearly hadn't been checked all day. As a frequent visitor of little chef in st clears, this definitely is an embarrassment to the rest of the chain. Will never return again!!!

Went to spring fair ordered food at burger king didn't have what wanted so had something else. Asked for salt got told didn't have any or bacon, that was that food took a while to come so not really a fast food outlets the staff made quite a few mistakes in taking order and making ice creams. Needs more staff

Requested a table for 4 - given a table with 2 chairs and told to find more chairs from the restaurant.Ordered 2 cooked breakfasts with double hash browns and fried bread - received single hash brown and unbuttered toast. When I mentioned the lack of fried bread I was told we were lucky to get toast instead as it is harder to make, what with having to scrape the burnt bits off! Go elsewhere - or expect a very long wait. We waited for an hour to be told that our breakfast order had not been uploaded to the kitchen - we left

Visited the Little Chef in Builth Wells on our way up to North Wales on Friday and on way back Monday. Had to complain for the delay in food of Friday and complained again as they had missed parts of the meal off. Chefs are not looking to see what it says the meals include on the menus. Monday was complaints again with long delays and bits missing off the meals i.e no grated cheese on salad, no onions with hot dog, no onion rings with steak then when we got them onions were raw, medium rare steak was well done and so tough you couldn't eat it. Asked to see the manager who apologised but didn't compensate us at all and told to write to head office to get some vouchers! Really?! I won't be returning to spend them!

Having used the little chef in Builth wells regular as a half way stop to Cardiff , I can see now why the little chef chain has diminished ! We ordered 2 breakfasts which took 30 minutes to arrive and I must say the place was scruffy and the attitude of the waitress when I said if it doesn't arrive shortly we where leaving ! She just shrugged her shoulders ! Quality was poor , cheap bacon and sausage , coffee tasteless ! Wouldn't visit there again !! Most disappointed , the microwave operator / chef apologised as we left !!

Ordered 2 different takeaway meals. Coffee was lukewarm; food was hot. Food hygiene didn't seem up to much.Both of us had a dreadful dodgy stomachs for hours after it. If you value your stomach don't eat here.

Ordered a cheeseburger with no gherkins and came with them! Also my chips came cold and found a hair in it!! The staff also watched me eat my food whilst talking about the nights out and what they get up to on those nights (their sex life)!! Not impressed at all. Stopped here on recent trip up through Wales about 8am with my husband and son. The idea was to have breakfast and after deciding a full English might be to much opted for the breakfast buttys at £4.99. What arrived was two sausages on 2 thin pieces of bread, unbuttered I had to do that myself. It also seemed to take longer then necessary to cook. Not impressed and won't return.

Called in, on passing, for a cup of tea.Decided to have the Danish pastry offer between us. After half an hour three pastries arrived- not the ones ordered.When we complained we were told that what we were given was all the choice they had- could we not have been told this when putting in the order?It would surely been more courteous to inform us that our choices were not available before serving us with a totally different variation to what we ordered.Have called in here at various times over the years and never had such bad, couldn't care less attitude to customers before. Will think twice before returning.

arrived at 0830 am was closed even though sign said was open. Passed area in evening 1730 closed early does not deserve any business

Eaten here a couple of times recently for a takeout,a strange experience indeed,the sandwiches on both occasions were luke warm to say the least.Both time they appeared in seconds but the taste and texture of the meat patty is really weird and certainly not flame grilled.When u opened the sanwich everything just fell out.This place must be really busy as the car park bins were overstuffed and overflowing everywhere.,the last visit they were dealing with blocked drains out the back which had some staff in hysteria,the place was a right state so i left without odering anything

I had visited the store today, staff one at front of service and one cooking, neither looked happy. I bought a chicken royale. Nothing royal about it. It tasted like the cooking oil hadn't been changed in a whilst. Even people I was with commented on how it smelt. It tasted worse.

NO ONE TO MEET AND GREET. Sat at table and watched the 3 staff disappear out the back!The staff then reappeared one by oneThe cook started shouting and faffing about with hot water etcThe female staff member operated the till, however she had a shouting match with the cook on what the customers had to eat!!Eventually the cook shouted at the third member of staff to come and serve us. Not the most hygienic looking person I have seen, his uniform was filthy.After watching the two male staff mucking around for five plus minutes we decided to leave as they hadn't even started on our order.The restaurant was not busy, a table of four left just after we arrived and there was one other lady with a small child plus us two.As we left the female staff member was cleaning a table. advised her we were going

Visited this establishment on a recent weekend afternoon. The glass entrance doors were covered in greasy fingerprints and once inside, the place looked messy and grubby. Tables hadn't been cleaned after the prior occupants and there were discarded chips and bits of litter under the tables. Managed to get a table as we were eating in. When food arrived, burgers were lukewarm. The whole place looked and felt like it could do with a thorough clean. I doubt we'll return as we prefer hot, rather than lukewarm food and a clean, pleasant environment in which to eat! The company (or franchisee) should pay an unexpected visit! We were very disappointed.

Very friendly welcome from the Little Chef staff (this is a combined Burger King and Little Chef). They were very knowledgeable and friendly throughout, and attentive without being intrusive. It has been a good while since I or my partner have visited a Little Chef, and the food was just as I remembered. They got all the little details right - including hard-fried eggs as per my partner's request. Big thumbs up from two hungry travelers.

Went to Burger King for an afternoon lunch and a change of scene. This was my second visit and once again I was not disappointed.Our food was ready almost as soon as we had sat down and was very nice indeed - the burger was also much larger than I anticipated - but I still managed it. The lady serving us was incredibly friendly and we had a wonderful afternoon.I look forward to my third visit.

We were on our way to London and we stopped and got 5 of the freshest made burgers ever! They were yumm! and great chips too. Thanks for the little toy that kept the kids going till they fell asleep! Keep It Up!

We often eat here as it's a halfway point on a long trip we make every year. On the way down it was very busy and the burgers looked sat upon, things missed off (but rectified without quibble) and the onion rings impressed me in their awfulness: quite an achievement to get an acrid burnt taste without a crisp exterior, all lukewarm and floppy. On the return journey: the burgers all looked like the photo (a first for me in any burger chain) and everything as crisp and tasty as you'd expect.

Avoid at all costs. It is clear the MD tried to con the TV company and Heston to get free advertising.He should get his fat a*se into the business and roll his sleeves up.If I owned Little Chef Builth Wells I would be ashamed. Rename the chain as ' Can't Be Ars*d' and at least we will expect what we get.

They were good but those days are long gone. Now combined with the Little Chef the place is tiny and okay, it was a Sunday but the wait was not worth it. Tried ordering a burger but was told there would be a wait of about 15 minutes and this is meant to be a fast food place so it would probably have been about 30 minutes judging by the number of people hanging around waiting for their order - not a good atmosphere and not surprised. Finished up having a coffee and getting hold of extra milk seemed like 'too much trouble' for the staff. Problem is there isn't really an alternative in this part of the world on a main road but still - best avoid and just go without.

I cannot believe I had gone back to this place, as the earlier visit was marginally forgettable other than the denial of the publicised incentive for a free beer with the meal.The second time was equally forgettable. At best a warm seat on a cold night.

oh the food here is stunning, i was in the little chef, the toasted sandwich was perfect, the tea was also fab, but the staff !! omg not interested at all , the chef went walk about for 20 min, then the 2 ladies, just disappeared, i was having a business meeting , 3 times i had to get up to re order drinks, then the table was dirty after the food, and the lady serving would not wipe it and told me to move tables ? If you have customers in the restraunt you look after them, the cheft was then shouting to the lady when i was trying to pay, as again she had disappeared . One of the most disturbing things i have ever seen was the litter out side , trays food ect right out side the entrance, was terribleworst thing about it is, this place would thrive, be a huge success, your chef is very talented, and makes fresh food, but your staff are truly killing the place , as they don't care

biggest rip off since little chief. Totally disgusted with 1 6.99 meal need a magnifying glass to even find it. DO WASTE YOUR MONEY GO KABAB SHOP !

Even though it was show week, the busiest week of the year for builth. They did not only did they keep there incredibly low prices and keep up to there high standards from there excellent a la carte menu. All of this and offers on as well. I just don't know how they do it.
