KFC in Powys

I dont know what the problem with KFC and coffee is but in the last 2 years everytime I visit one of there outlets the coffee machine isn't working, is this because its more expensive to have coffee with a meal deal or do they just invest in rubbish coffee machines, this visit was added buy the fact that the fries ( if yoh can call them that now there chunky chips realy) were cold and the chicken bugger had been on the grill I guess 30 minutes before as it was just warm, so KFC but I've now had enough bad meals and won't be putting my hard earned penny's in your till anymore

I know it's a difficult time but KFC Newtown never disappoint's it's dreadful as usual. We went in and there were Three couples waiting for their food and me stood at the counter, five minutes later I'm still stood their and not a sign or even a glance from the staff. Only thing to do,Walk out! God knows what the chicken tastes like as they never seem to have any.

I love this food. One does have to wait quite a while sometimes. But that is because there are so many customers that love this special chicken. That they are so busy is proof that the food is worth waiting for. In my experience the take-away service is excellent and quite speedy.

Real terrible place, manager is young and unprofessional, orders continuously wrong and have poor hygiene. Toilets a mess, this place needs shutting down or new management or something and avoid at all costs as apparantly the new fraud car parking company they use says after 90 minutes you can be fined. I was fined £100 for a '12 minute' stay (couldnt even make it up) with a final letter warning which they are known to do. This company is a disgrace to newtown.

Horrible food, very dirty inside. Bins were overflowing in the kitchen with no lid. Absolutely disgusting

As per the title, this place has a 2 star food hygiene rating,this is generous in my opinion as when we have been there the place is filthy,the floor is greasy ,the tables are never wiped down ,the bins are always full. service is always slow,even when the place is empty.the chicken joints are always greasy,and not cooked as well as they might be.Mc donalds over the road always have at least one member of staff cleaning all the time-thay also have far more staff working in the store.I feel the problems with KFC are not just in newtown as other kfc's have similar issues- its clear that KFC needs to up its game in order to justify the prices customers are paying

Food is mediocre, food is slow arriving, service is always slack, and staff are completely appalling. Just improve it greatly by getting a whole new staff and management team or close it down completely.

Appalling service, waited over 39 mins for our food, staff were unhelpful, incompetent and the drive thru was even worse! Its been bad before but this was unbelievably poor, the managers need sacking and people who know what they are actually doing need hiring or this place will be going out of business very soon. Next time we'll go to McDonald's, across the road and quick service!

Worst place I have ever been ordered food and waited 20 minutes and then was told that they had run out of chicken absolutely disgusting service

Went here for the first and most definate last time on friday the 2nd of august! Only went there with the kids because mcdonalds was closed for a while, had to wait over 40 mins for their food to arrive which we only ordered 2 popcorn kids meals through the drive through!! I had to go up to the window 3 times to ask where the kids food was!! Poor loves were starving at this point!!! All i had back off the girl was “yeah you can see we are busy!” I said i understand that but why the hell others were being served “fast food” before us and most got theirs pretty fast as youd expect!! Highly do not reccomend this dump!! To then find their food cold and the chips looked disgusting with the skins still on them! So my kids didnt eat it and had to go elsewhere! Absolutly abismol place! Never ever going back!!!! Would have got a refund but would have probably had to wait a further 40 mins to get that back !!! Terrible terrible terrible!!!! Do not eat here!!

Visited Newtown KFC for a quick tea after returning from holiday. What a shambles! Staff were not being managed and just talking/laughing in the kitchen area! Stood there for 5 mins before being served with no other customer at the counter! After 5 mins of placing order was told there was not enough gravy made to complete my order and it would take 13mins to make more! Having paid for the gravy I had to ask for a refund and was offered an alternative-large beans only! Never bothered going any further and walked out once majority of order was deliverd some 13 mins from order placement! Take my advice visit Mcdonalds across the road as the sraff here are damaging the brand KFC- they don't care and require some serious training in customer service!

Starting with the good the staff are polite and we'll turned out but that's about it.I kid you not there were 10 people eating in the place at 7.15pm when I ordered our food and it still took until 7.40pm to receive it. I was on the verge of asking for a refund.This place has always been bad I have walked out on 2 previous occasions without being served they never have chicken in the serving hotplates everything is only cooked to order or so it seems.We walked in after 8pm once and all they had was a chocolate cookie! No wonder McDonald's over the road is always busy if this joke of a restaurant is there only competition.

This place should be closed down! Do they not know what fast food means? 20+ minute wait and you still mange to get the order wrong what a joke and the staff are useless

We found the staff very friendly and polite the place was clean . The food came quickly and was good .

Love a good KFC ,but don’t have the opportunity to,visit one often as there isn’t one in my area, it’s a naughty treat to get one when we can! Newtown kfc, we have been here 3 times in total since it opened, on this occasion it was the best it’s ever been! Loving the new thicker chips and chicken was fresh, we were warned of a six minute wait for the chicken, we will definitely visit again when in the area, staff were busy but efficient!

Every time we visit this kfc always seem to have wait 20 mins at least to get our food.. thought it was meant to be “fast food” they don’t seem to understand the idea!

The food used to be great. But that was a long time ago. I’ve been there 4 times in the last 6 months hoping it would be improved, it’s not. A Damn shame as I love a good KFC and it’s literally two minutes away. Service is slow wether eating in or on drive through. Food is normally cold and hard from sitting around in the warmer, when they do cook fresh it’s good but that’s a rarity and normally something else in your order is cold and stale. Go in if it’s busy, if not go across the road to Maccy D’s. this branch is slowly killing itself from poor service and food.

Just popped in on the way home from Liverpool. Fab. Staff really friendly. Place spotlessly clean. Food beautiful.

Went Broughton drive through ordered a meal with a coffee, went to the window to pay which was more than the price advertised when I asked the girl said that coffees were extra to pay. She went to get the coffees and came back to say there was no milk, and offered us the usual fizzy drinks milk shakes, (no milk though) , we were then given the meal, but the most scarce small bag of chips EVER probably less than a child’s portion, I went back in to show the girl and was then given a carton.

Very Long waits,cold + greasy food,dirty tables + floors,bins over flowing with rubbish.

We live 10 miles from Newtown and we have been back a few times but the place is a joke and in all honesty it should close up for the last time....Cold food that you can wait anything up to an hour for....Front of shop staff get the brunt of the complaints but where is the management ?? McDonalds shut down for a refurbishment in the summer and the Kfc staff were saying they wished that McDonalds would hurry up and open..That just about sums it up.!!....Thet had lots of notice that Maccies was closing for a few weeks so should have had everything in place to set a good example..We visited during maccies closure and waited nearly 45minutes.......Last straw was today..9/10/18...Had the 9 piece £5.99 bucket asked for no drumsticks as I dont like them,was told pretty much you will have what you are given...NEVER heard that at any other Kfc in the Country....Ended up with 5 drumsticks + 4 other pieces that were swimming in grease,also the fries were stone cold.....

Went round the drive thru on a Thursday night and was stuck there for 30 mins, I only ordered to meals and a couple of hot wings, when the person eventually came with the food they didn't even apologise for the ridiculous wait time, when I arrived home I found there was no salt, wipes, napkins and also no hot wings, phoned them up to complain and they told me they will give them to me on my next visit and also gave me 15% off with a code they provided me, went round the following week while on break at work, took 20 mins to order, told them about my last visit and lack of hot wings, they eventually got me my food, no spoon/ fork for the beans, no salt, no wipes and surprise surprise they forgot to put my hot wings in again, absolutely useless KFC, probably the worst in the UK

Visited this place for a quick drive thru lunch on our travels. The term fast food didn’t really apply to this place...took around 15 mins to get food and they don’t park people up like they do other places so it ends up in a long queue with a long wait.

This place should be closed down in a honesty. The only thing they ARE good at is consistency as the place is consistently dirty, staff consistently uninterested and untrained consistently slow food service, toilets consistently dirty and they consistently run out of basic items!

20 minutes waiting for 3 burgers, no one else in the restaurant. Shocking for a fast food restaurant!

Disgraceful chips still frozen coffee cold best part of the visit was being pooed on by a seagul in the carpark

Called in as we'd been travelling all day and fancied a "quick" bite to eat. Ordered our meal at 7.12pm was unable to order hot chocolate or latte as no milk in the machine. By 7.50pm still waiting. What was unbelievable was although wed been sat there for over 3/4 of an hour cars going through the drive through were all getting food before those of us sat waiting inside. Several customers walked in and walked straight back out.

We were just passing through Newtown on a long journey home and thought we would go via KFC drive through for some of the Colonel's finest. It took 10 mins to get to the point they could take our order, we considered just leaving, but we were wedged in by cars also wishing they hadn't bothered! Once we have the order, excitement resumed in our car.... food... yummy! 25 minutes later, we thought we'd have to get comfy for the night. The suddenly... yes.... The man opens the window and says sorry for the wait, were waiting for gravy!! What we all chime! We didn't order gravy! Oh he says... ok I'll get ur food!! Kids are starting to get hangry, so this poor man's safety I hope he hurrys up!! Yes.... After ovee 30 mins and an over familiarity with a drive through, we get food!! And yes... oh... No sauces, napkins, spoons... handwipes would be cool!! Ok, we give up, I go in... oh we don't have any sauces they say.. Then why could I order and pay for them then?.. so I grab napkins... give an un-amused look and take my leave.....

Stopped for lunch on way through Newtown. The restaurant is fairly dirty with last night's food still on the floor. Changed tables twice as they were sticky and dirty. Food was lukewarm at best and the chips were incinerated. No napkins apparently - not great when you have a 3&5 yr old too...

Came through on my way through Newtown on Monday. Drive through was shut, no worries as I have legs I walked in.

We have frequented here many times since it opened, we were so excited to get a kfc in Newtown as I prefer over McDonald's. At first service was great but over last couple of months it has seriously declined. Nothing is in stock, no staff, wait times are ridiculous, staff attitudes are awful...the management is terrible. A couple of weeks ago I asked for a boneless bucket amongst other things and went through drive through...was shocked that the drive through was open as has been closed for months. Waited in queue at drive through for over half an hour to be told at window collection no boneless mini fillets. Asked if I could wait was told by rude lady...none in the building. We had had problems previously and I had had enough so asked to speak to manager. Manager apologised said he had normal chicken fillets, I asked if I could have those instead was told yes.... thought great. Drive six miles home to open box and find fillets had been cut in half and chicken massacred to make their version of 12 mini fillets, wasn't told the chicken I was expected to feed to my young children was going to be mutilated. Drove back so angry, challenged manager he asked me if I wanted order again as very surprisingly they now had sourced some mini fillets from somewhere and I could have them. Got home order still wrong..what a joke....it's lovely being lied to. Then stupidly I decided to call in on Sunday lunchtime, surprise surprise no chicken only drumsticks.....you are a chicken place for goodness sake. Asked for email address to complain to and asked for refund...was told by rude gentleman to look it up on Google!! You will not have my custom again you should be ashamed.

Called in on a Tuesday evening whilst passing. It wasn’t very busy at all but it was awhile before our order was taken. We didn’t have too long a wait but the food was cold over cooked and looked as it had been around a while, very different to the experience in the Shrewsbury one. The tables looked as if they could do with wiping down as there were bits on them but it looked to be very understaffed. To top it all when I went to the loo there was No toilet paper in either of the ladies cubicles. Good job I was carrying a pack of tissues in my bag. I did report it to a member of staff. She said she would deal with it but she was busy with orders so I don’t know when that would be!

Absolutely awful. They had no fizzy drinks, no salt, no sauce, no icecream. Only 2 staff members on. Had to wait nearly half an hour. Food was cold and tasted old. And wasn't prepared very well. Toilets were dirty and toilets full of faeces. Will not be returning.

The place is awful dirty and the food is disgusting couldn't even eat it will not return defo need improvement with the cleanliness service and food

Drive through was very slow,When i had the food I had to drive 200 yards back to work where by the food was cold. I will never go there again.

Waited almost 20 minutes for 3 fillet burger meals. Tables left with previous customers rubbish :-( Understaffed is an understatement !!!!!

Quite possibly, the worst fast food experience of my life. In a party of 4, only 1 order was correct and this was after a 20 minute wait. This experience will love long in the memory.

First time of popping in to this kfc ,,, and won’t be the last

The quality of service is great in terms of interaction from staff to customer. however the last several visits they have either been closed early or they have not got the food in stock. The time it takes for the food to be served is shocking - the longest was over 20 minutes. Think this is a great shame as KFC is a great addition to the town, however, basic improvements need to be made for it to be effective and consistent.

Good food but we didn't like that the place looks dirty and there's loads of cobwebs everywere looks unloved . We felt like we were in Halloween

After coming back from Churchstoke with my parents we decided on the way back to call in at KFC in Newtown and it was a good time to arrive we ordered a family bucket and their was more than enough of everything to satisfy our appetites. the restaurant was clean though the floor could have done with a quick mop but apart from that it was a very good experiance

Commune with the colonel at Newtown's new KFC. It's a KFC which says it all really, drive through available and descent parking.

Called in for a quick lunch recently, on a par with many other KFC's, standard fayre so you know what you are going to get.

the staff here are so friendly and courteous, I have never been to a KFC where they were so pleasant

I use KFC for working in the early morning when I can. It opens at 7am. Their breakfast range is limited but 'proper food' is used. Bacon that tastes and looks like bacon and eggs that don't look like plastic replicas. The hash brown's are so superior to McDonald's . The buns they use are also good. The coffee is also better quality than the McDonald's across the road. However the key for the early morning sessions I have experienced is the friendliness of the staff and the good relationships I observed between counter staff, those cooking and supervisors.

Visited 3 times and on each ocassion they had run out of something we wanted to order, the last visit it was coffee. Really! Got the order wrong, took it back and the young lady said it was my fault, i know it wasnt, but hay it was her 3 shift. What i saw it was clean inside, well done to the cleaner, a thankless task. The shift manager needs a course on how to deal with customers. Tried it 3 times wont be going again to this kfc.
