My friends and I were on a school trip from Australia and went to this restaurant for warmth and food. Immediately the service was amazing, very kind and welcoming. We were seated quickly and ordered just as quickly. The waitress was lovely and very sweet when my friend complimented her hair. Our food arrived in a matter of minutes and was reasonably priced and delicious. It was a great experience and we would highly recommend!

Busy lunch spot with good menu choices all of which can be shared. We opted for prawn dumplings which were delicious with a dipping sauce. Mushroom bao buns were good too very garlicky with a truffle flavour. Beef and spring onions and satay chicken were also lovely. We enjoyed the calamari salad ( although we did find some lobster shell in it!) the weak point was the noodles - very bland for the cost.

AVOID - This USED to be an excellent well priced restaurant but greed has ruined it. My partner and I stopped by before a show as it was one of our favourite places to eat, however after ordering the £22 chicken satay and being presented with ONE single chicken thigh (not even a premium cut of chicken?!) served over a measly portion of sauce (see picture with one piece removed) I won’t bother coming back. We also ordered plain rice which was dry and unseasoned and they attempted to rob us of £6 for that too. We sent it back and told them it was extortion and we wouldn’t be eating or paying for it. The bao buns used to be, in my opinion some of the best in London, they were a little on the pricier side but totally worth it - now they have a new menu with the same buns but smaller portions of meat inside with a more expensive price tag. We ended being presented with a bill of £72 for 4 bao buns and two drinks - in what fantasy world does the owner of this business think that is acceptable? Even in this financial climate and even in central London this is daylight robbery. The service charge is ‘automatically applied to tables of 1 or more’… so every table then? The waitress I asked to return my food to the kitchen and remove it off the bill was very understanding and apologetic and said this is not the first time this has happened. After being a repeat customer for 4+ years I won’t be coming back and I warn others not to do so either.

Went here with my partner for a light dinner before a show. The menu looked good, although no info on the menu with regards to whether the dish is vegetarian/allergies etc. Ordered 2 miso soups only to be informed a few minutes later that they had run out, which seems poor at 6pm on a Friday night. I then picked the mushroom bao bun with the edamame beans. The beans came out first, just from looking at them I could tell they were old and dry. They did not taste good and only a few were eaten. The mushroom bao bun was disgusting, it was coated in garlic butter inside which did not go at all. The mushrooms were chewy and I genuinely struggled to eat some of them. The jasmine rice was dry. My partner had the crab bao bun which he said was bland. The bill came to over £60 which even for london was ridiculous for what we had. The service was fine, but I would advise anyone to avoid this place, total rip off with rubbish food.

Very nice food and atmosphere. However using their toilets was like entering in a different place. I could not use them from how dirty they were. Men and women share the same toilets. When I went back to my table I was not able to enjoy the rest of the meal wondering the kitchen hygiene status. Also my 9 year old son oredered a desert which included cake and ice cream and he was disappointed because it came with no ice-cream, just a tiny piece of cake. When I asked why they said it was a mistake on their menu. It costed 12 pounds. Knowing it before, we would have not ordered and gone somewhere else for treats later. No alternative or discount was offered.

We all had a breakfast mine was an omelette i asked for no sourdough bread and could i have a little bit of salad the server sad i can offer you mushrooms instead i said that was ok we then we also had 2x 2 poached eggs on toast and a salmon and eggs and 2 cups of tea, All tasted nice no problem on the quality. when the waiter brought the bill unfortunately he was very chatty and i was distracted ( my fault) and just paid it. when i looked at the receipt they had charged me £4 for the mushrooms ( a tiny bowl full) and took £ 10 as there tip. so for the 4 meals it was £74.

We had a great lunch at this restaurant. We found it by coincidence as we were walking by. Definitely a popular place. All items are delicious, the service is quick and friendly. Try if you are close by.

Siamo stati in questo locale per l'ultimo dell'anno. E' situato all'interno del mercato di Covent Garden. Posizione suggestiva soprattutto nel periodo natalizio. Ci siamo accomodati subito in quanto prenotato. La cucina è a vista e mentre si aspetta all'ingresso il proprio tavolo, si vedono tutte le preparazioni. Si mangia discretamente. Il servizio è stato abbastanza veloce. Prezzo decisamente alto.

We dropped in here to eat one evening. Service wasn’t great, had to chase up two meals to ask where they were. Bao buns and mains were so-so, nothing special. Very expensive for what it is plus, as mentioned by many other reviews, a hefty service charge on top. Person who presented our bill even commented that we’d had to wait a while for the meals, but didn’t offer any discounts etc for that. I think this place is a bit of a tourist trap to be honest. It’s in a prime location in Covent Garden and obviously don’t need to concern themselves with returning trade as their customers are mostly going to be people visiting London who are probably not going to return and they’ve got a constant stream of fresh new customers passing through the area every day. Wish we’d explored just a few streets further away where we’d likely have found better food at a better price.

Breakfast was a rip-off!! The food was OK, but nothing special! Very basic menu for breakfast, and staff weren’t very attentive. Omelette, poached eggs on toast, ginger shot, espresso, flat white and an apple juice …. £60!! Automatic 15% service charge … rip-off and avoid!
