Warm atmosphere delicious dishes and friendly staff make this place a must visit

Had some business in the area which brought me to this little spot. I wasn't even hungry but thought I'll get a little something to eat. I got a little burger meal. It was good food to be fair. The chicken was cooked well and it was a good portion size. Never make the mistake of visiting food places because the pics looked good on Insta. Like are you really that stupid? That's what half the people on here are complaining about, that their meal didn't look the same as they saw on the net. 🥱 On a more positive note the staff were really polite and as I don't have a Birmingham accent and sound like I was dropped on my head as baby I got special treatment. 😂 So there we have it.

Have been here a few times over the last few years and it's been good service and food has been nice. Visited today and was left disappointed. Service was okay...atmosphere was dull and food was not nice at all. Ordered nachos and it was obvious they used very cheap/basic ingredients....the rest of the food was edible but not great for the price paid. Definitely will not be revisiting.

This place is terrible! Had nacho’s for £7 and it was terrible the crisps were broken badly and the cheese looked like it was a melted cheese slice from the local chippy and the salsa was from a snakrite jar from Aldi! This was embarrassing for them! Don’t go and get ripped off from this so called establishment! Never again!

Food was mostly really nice, but the chicken burger was overcooked or stale, as it was quite tough to bite and the gravy with the steak was really watery, not thick enough.

Ordered two “brisket” Parmesans £17.00 each and was served two tiny chicken fillets with a little portion of meat and little cheese, so mediocre nothing to it whatsoever at such expensive prices genuinely not acceptable and the “brisket”was just overly unflavoured mush. Also ordered ribs. No flavour, no seasoning, just a dollop of BBQ sauce.

Used to love going down for a steak. This time, they kept giving me a welldone steak which I had to return twice until they just gave up. The steak didnt even taste nice. Highly disappointing. They used to be known for their steaks and now they can’t even tell medium rare from a welldone steak!

The food never turned up and now I’ve got no food to cook not no money to order more food it’s a joke a want a refund back into my bank ASAP

Revisiting this place after 2 years and unfortunately on this occasion I was disappointed with the food. Service and atmosphere; staff were attentive and informative and atmosphere was pleasant. Ordered dynamite prawns and bbq beef ribs for starters, then went for the mixed option on the Philly steak as mains. Unfortunately the dynamite prawns were not what I was expecting as I have had these from other restaurants and they were completely different to what I was served here, and it tasted rather cheap… However the bbq beef ribs were the star dish in my opinion as they were very tender and literally fell off the bone. Moving onto the mains, the Philly cheese steak. Now this was not nice at all, the meat was dry, the bread was very lightly toasted on the inside with green peppers and with what looked like Monterey Jack Cheese (which wasn’t melted down, but just placed on top of the bread). The bread was smothered with mayonnaise and broke down with every bite taken- just not enjoyable. Overall I would say that I won’t be returning, due to the quality of food received today.

We visited today will high hopes from our last time a few years ago. Got a couple of burgers, meat quality was very good as usual but the buns were bland and like a bap, which could’ve been a costcutting measure.

I have been a regular customer since they opened and have been aware of ownership changes, the food has allways been top quality, however today I made a collection order which I was told 10 minutes. I got to the shop where it was a 1 hour wait lol they did not even start making the food untill I was sat there for 20 minutes, there were a few diners sat who were also waiting for their food but there was a clear priority for Uber eats and Just eat even those I could over hear customers calling back in complaining they have been given the wrong food. Now I don't mind poor service but just an explanation / apology wouldn't go amiss. Shame to say but looks like it will be going down hill like many shops as they cannot cope. 15/02 on reflection the food was very tasty as usual and I appreciate the reply to the comment with acknowledgement of being short staffed. Have update my review accordingly.

I ordered the Nachos and Brisket Sandwich meal and have to say the nachos were below average, the brisket did taste good but was put in a brioche hotdog then normal bread and was overloaded which led to it breaking apart and spilling. The service was really attentive and my brother who ordered a T bone steak was really tasty, kinda in-between on how I think of this place.

Had to wait a while due to short staff but was worth it when the food arrived . Very tasty and fresh .

I recently dined at Bun and Steak (10/12/23), and the experience left much to be desired. The customer service was painfully slow, making the overall dining process quite frustrating. The steak, which should be the restaurant's specialty, tasted old and emitted an unpleasant odor. Despite ordering a medium steak, it arrived medium rare, with an excessive amount of blood, making it unappetising. You would expect a restaurant with "steak" in its name to excel at preparing a steak, but sadly, this was not the case. To add insult to injury, there was a lack of essential elements for a steakhouse experience. No garlic butter, and sea salt being replaced with table salt. These are essential for enhancing the steak flavour. Very disappointing to say the least. The steak itself was disappointingly dry, failing to meet the basic expectations for a quality cut (T bone). No compensation was offered, and nothing was deducted from the bill despite the numerous shortcomings. In conclusion, based on my experience, I won't be recommending Bun and Steak. The combination of slow service, poorly prepared steak, lack of essential accompaniments, and the absence of any effort to rectify the situation left me with a negative impression. I wouldn't eat this food even if it was given to me for free. 0 stars

I came Friday 22nd of December and I recieved exquisite service from my servers Bruce and hakeem. It seems as though the customer service was a priority and honestly was the best part of my experience. The food was great and i was made to feel apart of the community in the shop.

I recently ordered an O.G bun for collection, I was extremely impressed by the quality of the food. When I went into the shop I was greeted by hamza and hakeem who ensured my food was hot and fresh. They topped my bag off with a range of sauces includinh: bbq and garlic mayo nevertheless I left satisfied and impressed by the quality and efficiency of bun and steak 🙌

I visited this restaurant with my family on Friday evening to which I was greeted by Hakeem and Bruce. They showed me and my family nothing but kindness and respect. The food wasn’t an issue however there was a mistake in the order to which they corrected and even replaced. They played a great role of waiters even whilst working under pressure. Thanks to them me and my family were able to enjoy the food.

During my visit today at bun and steak I was shown nothing but amazing customer service delivered by Bruce and Hakeem, the food served was 10/10 and would definitely recommend. Thanks to Bruce and Hakeem my visit was excellent and all went to planned Alhamdulillah. Thanks Alot !

Awful service. Ordered sweet potato fries and they came dry and burnt. Called up and they said they couldn’t replace my order until 3 hrs later. Waste of money.

Excellent rack of ribs the bbq flavour was on point and the ribs fell off the bone, exquisite! Lamb chops were also flavoursome and very enjoyable

Tryed the philly cheese steak, it was nice but the chips were very over done and didn't end up eating them. Left abit disappointed.

I recently dined at Bun and Steak, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. As a person in a wheelchair, I was met with mistreatment that left me deeply disheartened. The staff at Bun and Steak demonstrated a disrespectful attitude towards my disability, including personal digs that were both hurtful and entirely uncalled for. To compound the disappointment, the quality of the food at Bun and Steak was abysmal. The dishes were not only horrendous in taste but also seemed stale, indicating a lack of attention to freshness and quality. When I brought these concerns to the attention of the staff at Bun and Steak, their response was shockingly disrespectful, adding insult to injury. It is disconcerting that a place meant for hospitality and enjoyment, such as Bun and Steak, would fall so short in providing a welcoming environment. I share this review not only to recount my personal experience but to raise awareness about the importance of inclusivity and respect for all patrons. It is my hope that Bun and Steak takes these critiques seriously, addressing these issues to ensure a more positive and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

Ordered 2 lots for my 2 children only was sent and refusal to send the other one, told me to ask for a refund on justeat which didn't help the fact that only 1 child had food.

Parking on a nearby side street. Staff are friendly and inclusive. When I was there with my family we noticed a special needs man and his father having their ‘regular’ meal and it was amazing seeing the staff being so attentive and caring. In terms of the food it was great! We came from out of town and the quality and freshness of their burgers were lovely. Would highly recommend and would indeed visit again.

Philly cheesesteak was great. Unfortunately the buffalo wings tasted expired. Was not able to eat them.

Burger size good, but only lettuce inside and was wilted. Ordered mild flavour wings but tasted sweet & tangy. Lamb chops were really dry.

This place is quite local to us and our go to steak house when we have family over. The food is made to perfection and tastes great! The atmosphere is very family friendly and the staff are amazing as well, very welcoming, polite and attentive. 5* and highly recommended.

Ordered ribs. Disappointed as it tasted steamed and then chucked some bottled bbq sauce on top. Bbq gravy or other gravy options would really make a difference to the taste. Lamb chops over cooked wasnt asked how i would like them grilled. But fairly priced.

So I went here last night whilst travelling back to London. The shop was quiet so we decided to stop and eat as all of us were hungry. PLEASE for the love of food they need to stop cooking. We ordered ribs that tasted bitter, I ordered a Southern Fried Chicken burger and it was thinner than a naan bread! The bun was bigger than the meat! My friends ordered burgers too but were all very disappointed…. We didn’t take pics of the awful food as it was shocking! Management need to see this. I will create a free action plan for you to work with. It’s up to you how you make changes but I would start with your food. 1. There was an old guy sitting at the back of the shop who I assumed to be the boss/delivery driver. The guy was as miserable as the food being served. Energy is contagious and if you’re depressed or stressed stay out of the business you’re bringing in negativity with your bland demeanour. 2. The young girl serving. You need to prep tables. Place all the sauces, salt and pepper on each table. It will save you from constantly being asked for different sauces, napkins etc. those that don’t prepare will never see success. Your customer service is 10/10 but organise the front of house! 3. The chef needs to be sacked or retrained. The food being pushed out was absolutely horrendous. I’m not going to post pics as this review will raise some eyebrows! 4. The decor is off. Your floor design and walls do not match they clash. It’s like a tech hub floor with a plumbers merchant display wall. I think you’ve spent more energy on design than your food quality. Swap that around. 5. This place can do well but you cannot fluke or blag the food trade. Master your concept shorten your menu and relaunch. If you stay the way you are you will not last. 6. Take points 1-5 seriously and In sha Allah you will be a success.

It was very outstanding to have lunch here we ordered Beaf steaks and chicken burgers.steak was cooked very soft and its sauce was also cool.

It was lovely except they missed off my ribs so although hubby and son had dinner I was left hungry.

Underrated steak restaurant. One of the best halal ribs and steaks I’ve had in West Midlands. Guess it’s not that busy because not a lot of people notice or heard about it

Everyone enjoyed their choice. Then we shared and now I don't know which to order next . All very filling and excellently cooked. Always recommend. Very filling.

Ok so it's an amazing place, good was awesome and employees were nice too. It was surprisingly empty which is rather unfortunate because they most definitely serve great food. I would highly recommend going to this place because it doesn't make your wallet cry unlike other places. I had the notorious bun which satisfied my taste buds with the overall texture of the beef patty and the sauces which created this overall wonderful experience in my mouth. Please visit bun and steak because they definitely have good buns (I haven't tried the steak yet).

Forgot the rice for my order. To be fair to them they sent the delivery driver again and it got here but late - kind of wrecked the meal for us when one of us was waiting for their food. Also, we ordered the rice as a main for £4 but, when he delivered, it was the smaller side portion! Many reviews of them forgetting items from orders - they need to up their game! Food was the saving grace. On point!

Nice and comfortable to eat in. Took my family and felt comfortable. Good service. In terms of food: Peri chicken burger - bland Grilled chicken burger - bland and a bit dry Bun father - Nice but I found the meat taste a little strong BBQ ribs - tasty but again the meat taste was a little strong Sweet potato fries, normal fries and curly fries all fine. Don't think I'll go again if I'm honest. Missing a trick by not doing smashed beef burgers as that's such a craze ATM.

Amazing food, pleasant staff. You can really tell the difference in the quality of the steak over other places. The best Philly cheesesteak I've ever eaten. Highly recommend

Menu says comes with fries but received no fries with my order called the restaurant and wasn’t offered anything in return and no refund either.

I've been going here for a while, and I have to say such an amazing restaurant. The service from the loverly ladies behind the till is top class, and the food is out of this world! If you haven't already been here, then I suggest you do so soon! You can thank me then!!

Only my 3rd time at bun and steak, and clearly they've been improving. The steak I had was incredible. Worth the wait. The service was also impeccable. Only issue is that they never seem to have their American fantas!

I ordered lamb chops But the lam was not cooked well The inside is completely raw After telling a female staff, she refused to accept it But she says their lam is always cooked like this she didn't apologize or say sorry. On the contrary, she tells me that I am eating fast time Lam chips. Very poor service 👎👎👎

Bun & Steak is our family go to! We absolutely loved our Chilli Con Carne Burgers & New York ones, our Sirloin steaks & ribs, was just exceptional 😍😍There were 9 of us there yet food came out timely! Can’t fault the place at all even down to the warm customer service. You need to go down there 👏🏼

I was greeted by two young female workers who were nice at first but then started showing attitude whilst we were at the shop. -Made us wait 50 minutes for our food. -Food arrived at our table after asking them several times what’s going on. -We were fasting and ordered before certain people yet no food. -When food arrived to the table, order was wrong. 4 missing items. Plus no knives and forks -Waitress came back with one thing but asked again for knives and forks and drinks. -I cut open my 2nd pieces of chicken and it was pink. -Was asked if I would like by waitress “shall I cook it for you,” and then continued to say to me it’s meant to be like that, I told her chicken is never meant to be pink. -Left us sitting at the table no knowing what to do. -Eventually got up to the till and asked what’s going on, and they said you don’t have to pay for one meal, even though my friends meal and drink was untouched due to the lack of waiting, service and disgusting attitude. -I asked if I can pay for the water etc but she said just walk out, and then constantly kept constantly saying “it’s fine” several times in a rude demeaning manner. -I asked if I can speak to the manger and then again said “it’s fine”. There were several customers also in the shop and out the shop who kept coming to the till to ask where their food was. 2.5 hour wait to get the food and kept hanging up when calling to enquire. Poor customer service.

The burger was a normal veggie burger not the peri bean patty, arrived late and was lukewarm on arrival
