Absolutely lovely lunch by a warm fire. Food was perfect, especially the fish and chips. Service was efficient with a smile

Fantastic pre Christmas meal at the Bulls head. We were looked after by Craig who went above and beyond to accommodate us, giving us a choice of tables and serving us quickly and efficiently. Would highly recommend if looking for a pub in the area.

A beautiful pub located in a fantastic spot by the Thames. The menu is quite basic, but the food is good. It's a shame they never seem to get it right with the service staff in the restaurant…

This is the second time we eat at Bulls Head. We have been there a couple of times for drinks as well. Food is good, ambience is nice but unfortunately the service again, wasn’t what I expected. We had a bit of an argument with our waitress. I very rarely would make a fuzz, but in this case I knew we were correct (it was about UK laws ) but the way and attitude we were meet with almost ruined the special occasion. A pity, just a bit less attitude and a bit more “let me check, or how do you mean” and it could probably been resolved differently.

First Sunday quiz at this place. It was great, Craig was fun, enthusiastic and funny. We had a great night; quiz may have been favorable for us as we love Christmas. But it was overall a fun and tasty Sunday evening out. Thanks, we will be back.

Love this pub and it’s atmospheric jazz room (the old one was however bigger and better and should be reinstated IMHO). Some great live music to see every week and at a very reasonable price. Where else can you see such talent at such close range?

We have just hosted a super Christmas event in the upstairs room at The Bull's Head. It was the perfect space for a large gathering, food was ample and very tasty. Jack our server was brilliant at looking after us all and kept everything running perfectly throughout the night. The whole evening was very festive helped along by the lovely decorations & Christmas tunes. We're looking forward to coming back soon.

We had our Christmas drinks in the pub yesterday. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the pub was super cosy and welcoming after the artic weather. We had a fire and comfy chairs, it was a lovely atmosphere. Thanks very much, everyone had a brilliant time!!

Terrible service from an incredibly rude waitress. This is a regular, local pub for us and we ate here for the first time for a roast yesterday. I ordered a beef roast, the wait for the roast was 45 minutes and when it did arrive the waitress gave me a chicken roast. I was very polite as these things of course happen and told her they had brought the incorrect order. She was instantly rude and snappy (no customer service whatsoever) and point blank refused to replace it. She said if I wanted a beef roast (despite ordering it) we’d have to re-order and pay again.. seriously what sort of service is this?! She then went and checked with the management who also refused to replace it which is just so so poor. At this point she’d refused a few times and my food was cold and I couldn’t be bothered to argue / spoil my meal so I left it and ate the chicken (which I would never order!) It was the pubs mistake as the wrong order was put through so this should have been very quickly rectified. Ever if it hadn’t been - the customer is always right! Basic customer service needs to be taught here - very disappointing.

Great ambience however lacks more vegetarian/vegan options on the menu.

Lovely pub setting right on the river. We got a park right out front also. Sunday roast was good but unfortunately either it’s managed terribly or the kitchen is way understaffed as service was incredibly slow. Wait staff plonk the plate down and not once ask if you need anything. We ordered children’s meals and these took 1 hour to come, despite asking 4 times if they can bring those ones out asap (those with little ones know the struggle). Burger came out without cheese so they took it back and put cheese on and we are fairly sure they threw it in microwave to melt the cheese (what did the meat and bread do to deserve being ruined like that). Food is nice though in honesty and husband said the meat in burger tasted good despite the post microwave rubberyness. They need to sort out their staffing on a busy Sunday and improve service before I’d go back

I came here for lunch and had to wait for my food for over 35 mins even though the place was half-empty. The food was mediocre at best.

The pub is massive and beautifully located on the river. Plenty of space and comfortable furniture. Food was good pub grub. Service was mixed and a little slow, but friendly. Would recommend.

Great service by the young Jack I was around in the local area and stumbled across this lovely pub and was greeted by the most friendliest staff member Jack. He welcomed me with open arms and even helped me in choose and brilliant non alcoholic drink. I was then feeling a little peckish and once again the lovely Jack was there to help me choose the lovely kids breaded chicken and let me tell you that went down a treat, once again if I am ever in the local area I will make sure to pop in even just to see Jack once again. 10/10 would recommend

Our small wedding party made a reservation for the pub following a registry office appointment - and it was the best vibe for a causal post-event dinner and drinks. Staff were fantastic in accommodating us all in the little annexx. We can't recommend Bull's Head enough.

This pub had its ups and downs over the years, but it’s definitely on the up again. The atmosphere feels welcoming, and the food is much better than it used to be. Worth giving it another shot if you haven't been in a while.

We had a lovely lunch and drink here whilst it was raining. The staff were beyond hospitable and so lovely. We were served by Craig who was a delight and saved us and our dog from the rain! We definitely will be back here for a jazz night and their jazz festival in November. We cannot recommend more!

Wonderful food and service, it was easy to get a table on a Sunday! The pub looks amazing after the renovation. The main highlight was the sticky toffee pudding - the best I’ve had in ages!

The welcoming atmosphere immediately appeared, as the staff greeting me warmly. This place was more than just a pub; it had a relaxed and happy vibe, with a team of staff who genuinely enjoyed their work and friendly customers who added to the positive energy. Initially, we only planned to stop in for a drink, but after seeing the inviting lunch menu, we decided to stay for a meal. Based on the glowing reviews and captivating photos online, we travelled some distance, and I’m glad we did. I want to especially commend Craig, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. He offered us a lovely seat upstairs in the restaurant with a perfect view of the river—a stunning sight. Craig’s cheerful demeanour and attentive service made us feel truly welcome. He even walked me through the menu, ensuring I found the perfect dish despite my picky eating habits. The décor of the place was also exceptional, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere complemented by the lovely music. I’m already planning to bring friends for lunch here very soon. A big thank you to Craig for his outstanding service and the chef for the incredible food. This visit exceeded my expectations in every way.

Brilliant pub with amazing bar staff. I walked in with three tired and hungry kids during a Bahamas day (32 degree heat) and they looked after us. They made it so easy and pleasant. They are beautiful people with beautiful hearts.

Came in early for the opening after a gorgeous refurbishment, the pub looks absolutely stunning. Can't wait to come back.

The people were lovely and accommodating. The place was ok, but the food was not up to par, particularly the pork I ordered which was noticeably lacking in freshness.

We came for the Euros final and decided to have dinner too and booked for 630pm. Firstly I want to say service was exemplary from the time I booked to when we had to leave. Someone actually rang me to ask whether it was just dinner or just the Euros final and I said both and apparently it was to check whether we needed a view of the tv. I was very impressed! I then wanted triple cooked chips with aioli as a starter (not on the menu) which I’d had had a couple of years ago and the v polite and helpful server checked. I got my chips and I swear they made/provided the aioli! Since we had reserved a dinner booking we also got to order roast dinner with all the trimmings, which was decent and tasty. I asked for extra gravy and they were very generous with extra jugs. I did feed back the Eton Mess was out of balance with too much cream and I didn’t eat much of it and the excellent server (wish I knew his name!) offered to take it off the bill. All the staff were so polite and friendly. It’s not a sports pub/bar as the tv screens are not that large but we enjoyed the atmosphere. It’s a v nice pub and we will be going back.

1. Food was good but both times it came without cuttlery. The pub was busy so it took a few minutes until we had their attention and could finally start eating. 2. They had run out of mayo and could only offer ketchup with my chips. Really? 2. I ordered 2 beers and the bartender got one glass straight out of the dishwasher so it was super hot. That beer was flat and had no bubbles at all compared to the one in the cold glass. The difference was so obvious and I was quite shocked that he didn't offer to poor a new one. Pooring beer into a hot glass is an absolute no-go and something anyone working at a bar should know. 3. When the England match was over they turned off the volume of the TV when the next match of the euros started. We had moved to the bar to have a better view of the TV. They took no notice of us watching although we were right there clearly looking at the screen. When we asked if theythould put the volume back on they said they only show England matches 😲 Very disappointing and not the spirit of the euros. Overall, they are not very attentive towards their guests. I don't think I'm going back there. Too many things went wrong during just one visit.

Awesome night in the Jazz room for a joint 50th. The whole team were amazing. Thank you so much for looking after us all. Everyone said the food, venue, music and everything was amazing. If we could give you a 6 we would!!

This pub was an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was great. I had a scotch egg and a vegan roast which was surprisingly delicious and my husband had fish and chips, very crispy and tasty! Louie the waiter was very helpful.

Possibly the worst Guinness in history! I took it back and the staff gladly offered me an alternative. I had an asahi. Wasn’t very good either, only drank half the pint. Apparently most of there beers were off. Maybe the manager had a bad day in the cellar or pipes weren’t maintained properly. £15 for two pints as well! Well you would expect a decent beer at that price. The staff were very kind and accommodating. There are also some very good jazz bands play in the back room sometimes.. They have very nice hats at the bulls head. Get them before there gone though ;-) Really hope the manager lightens up a bit and sorts out those kegs/pipes. The beer was truly awful. Excellent staff

Terrible place, absolutely avoid!!! The manager was rude from the moment we walked in. No customer service, or welcoming atmosphere. Cold, rude atmosphere and blamed it on being understaffed, which I would understand if they were nice about it. The manger was joke and simple couldn't be asked, lacked any experience. A good pub destroyed by terrible staff. Such a shame @youngs need to look into this ASAP!

6 ladies lunched at the Bulls Head on Wednesday. 5 ordered beefburgers. They were flat double patties, hard, leathery and barely warm. French fries dry and overcooked. Sadly not what one would expect from previous good experience at the Bulls Head. Pub was completely empty apart from two others having a drink. Was this just why or was it just an off-day?

We booked a table for Sunday lunch 2.30 The restaurant wasn’t full and we were led to our table and told someone would be with us shortly to take our drinks order We asked passing waitress several times to order and when she finally came quite disgruntled we decided to order our food at the same time while she was still there. Having ordered she then told us there was only 1 type of Roast available as the others had sold out ! Surely not at 2.30 on a Sunday when bookings can still be made all evening ! She didn’t apologise and just said a slightly sarcastic ‘ have a nice day ‘ as we left . Disappointing as we had been recommending the food to our friends after our last Sunday lunch here. This had been at 4.30 in a Sunday with a full choice of main courses although on that occasion they had run out of crumble! Surely there is a need for a review of kitchen policy

Ate early , hence the lack of atmosphere, the service was excellent as was the main courses but the pudding was a disappointment. Overall it was good to find a pub that prepared and cooked food from scratch. Will certainly dine here again

I booked a Sunday dinner in advance (5 days before). We have been told after arriving that there were no a day roasts left. Any of the 5 possible. Many missing choices in the remaining (very short menu). The manager told us they prefer people to book for lunch (is that really a reason? Where I can find that written on the website?). I had guests from Italy and I was really disappointed. It is bad because i had a Sunday lunch a month ago and I enjoyed that. No attempt to offer something as a compensation. Manager not very happy to have us for dinner. I’m local, they lost as a possible guests in’ the future.

Abysmal service. we were left for over half an hour with only water. Waiter had no interest, and people arriving after us were served before. Took about an hour to get any food, however, even when we ordered wine, the drink never came. When I asked about the wine, the waiter brought the wine menu over, forgetting we'd ordered it 20 mins earlier. I asked for a water refill, once again ignored so had no drink for about 20 mins. Had to remind the server we'd ordered water refill. Because of delay in getting food, we missed the beginning of the gig. We won't be back to eat. The music was excellent though in the Jazz room (Groove Warriors). Will be back for music.

We had Sunday roast chicken and roast pork. Very tender & tasty. I cannot understand this general(?) obsession with an over cooked Yorkshire pudding with everything that is tough to cut, too hard to soak up the gravy and gets in the way of appreciating what is actually a very good meal.

Every year my office book our Christmas dinner at the Bulls Head. Never disappointed, the food is great and honest staff. I forgot an envelope with some money in it and they kept it for me to collect it.

I celebrated my 50th gig stylie in the Jazz room with about 60 people the other night. Will, the Sound Engineer, and Jula, our host, were amazing! They worked so hard to make the evening a roaring good time. Thanks so much for your warm & professional hospitality!! The venue & sound system were epic!!

It was a shame that we visited on a day where the gravy was absolutely awful, as the rest of the food was good (though not fully sure why they deliver it on such small plates!) Luckily the experienced was saved with wonderful service from Lucy who was by far the most helpful and informative member of staff.

I had such an enjoyable time I needed to review twice!! Food is absolutely delicious (I had the halibut), pub has a great atmosphere and the staff are lovely. Special shout-out to Fern and GM Lauren, smiling the whole time. I shall definitely be back!

Very disappointing experience. We had come for pre-jazz dinner, but the lovely dining room and kind but over-stretched waitresses were the highlights. The menu is varied and promises much, but the food that was served was not great. The expensive sirloin steak was very fat, gristly, overcooked and tough (fully refunded without any quibbles). The mixed roasted vegetable salad was stone cold. The cod cheek scampi was over-fried. The beef burger was good. Two of the big mains (T-bone pork and lamb pie) were off the menu (it was only 6.45pm) as were two of the six puddings, not that we had time to try any of them because the slow food production made us late for the jazz (which was excellent). We won’t be dining here again in a hurry, which is a shame since it’s a lovely pub.

Food and drink was decent enough. Not many staff and people before us had been waiting much longer. Person who served us was polite enough. A mistake on our bill was annoying.

Not a bad establishment but for goodness sake -stop using fingers to wipe off spillages off beer glasses , prior to serving customers.

Good pub by the river. Great indoors but no outdoors as it is on the road straight by the river. Cosy inside but decor is more pastiche and less authentic than others locally. Still, good choice of drinks (it is a Young's pub). Didn't eat but food dishes looked great!
