Bugman's in Nottingham

First time Ive visited in a while and it definitely seems to have lost some of its character. Also a word of caution on price, just under £8 a pint for a fairly average pint of neon rapter is pushing it...

First time at warhammer world and it was very busy, we had to queue for quite a while to order. The table was clean and our food arrived quickly and was nice. Parking was limited on the day of our visit .

The room itself is fun and unique, and really adds to the experience of Warhammer World. My main issues were with the food and service. It was quite busy and there were no tables, there was no system for people to be seated in order, it was more of a grab what you can type of system which was stressful as nobody seemed to be queueing, just floating around then making a dart for any avaliable tables. When we ordered the food took around 50 minutes to come out. We got a steak and loaded nachos. When the food came out we saw that it went to the bar first and sat on the side for about 5 minutes before it was eventually brought over to us. At this point it was lukewarm at best. I ordered the steak medium-rare, which it was at one end, but almost welldone on the other. The steak was also quite tough and there was no steak knife, making the process more difficult than needed. My partner also requested no jalapneos in her nachos and there were a couple, so I guess be extra clear about what you don't want in your food.

Amazingly good food for a hobby bar

Loved this cafe. Centred in forge world the warhammer head quarters, the food was amazing, decor was brilliant and staff were amazing

Really good food with a really cool atmosphere, was a pleasure to dine here after shopping round at warhammer world.

Service was quick and staff were friendly. My son (5 years old) loves the decor as it's very fun and playful. Unfortunately, the food was not good - just dry, tasteless burgers with chips that were definitely overpriced for what they were. It's a cute environment, but if we were to go again, we'd probably just get a drink, and go for food elsewhere.

On my latest trip to bugmans I have to admit I was disappointed. Thd 'Fresh waffles' were store bought and the eggs&bacon undercooked (to be fair, undercooked for my preference). Which, for the price paid, was disheartening. The burger I had at a later visit the se day was not to the quality expected. Furthermore the 'on tap' soft drinks tasted very watered down. However, the service was friendly and efficient making the experience good.

Food has really gone downhill, kids meatballs were as though microwaved.... Sauce dried up and not really much taste...steak sandwich was very fatty and chewy and have to each individual piece with fingers tugging at it... Please bring back pizzas.... Or more cob options...Fries, onion rings and fish fingers are amazing.... Prefer the older menus honestly.... atmosphere is amazing the scenery and music.... And loved the hot chocolate with cream.....

Bugmans was busy when we arrived, though the service was fast. We ordered food, which took about 10 minutes to arrive. Unfortunately my food was undercooked and had to be sent back, though my partner's was fine. The food was okay. Overall, if you don't mind a busy packed venue Saturdays are a good day out at Warhammer World.

Glad I visited. Very clean restaurant as the waitress made sure of it. Nice selection of ale. Food was really tender and tasty. My daughter said the waffle was exceptional

Vile beef burger. The meat doesn't look like beef at all. Avoid at all costs. The rest is average. Expensive for quality even if quantity.

Lovely atmosphere and excellent staff but the food has really gone downhill. Overcooked chewy burgers and school café chips. Shame. I’ll stick to breakfasts in the future

Had a look at the menu online but unfortunately it was outdated (I have put pics up of the one on the table.) I do look forward to coming back and trying the menu again. Great atmosphere and enjoyed the Bugmans Stormcast.

My hubby has been playing Warhammer for over 20 years. So when we found out Warhammer World was in Nottingham, we just had to stop by. To our pleasant surprise, there was a place to grab food and drinks to keep you from getting too grumpy from hunger. There are a lot of fun decorations spread around the restaurant including Bugman's throne. The food was really delicious too! There is a spicy wing challenge if you're up to it.

Great venue! Food is exceptional

My partner and I came here after spending the day looking around Warhammer world. You order at the bar, we were informed the food would take half an hour. I hadn't eaten all day so was pretty hungry however, they were quite busy therefore understand why. Their food was lovely particularly the chips. Great portions for the money felt like a hearty meal. I ordered the VGBLT and their fake bacon in my opinion was tasty which can be hard to get right.

If you're a warhammer fan this is the place for you to eat. But not only that, it also tastes good and the service personal is very nice. Usually themed places don't have good food but I can happely say that the food here is very good.

Spectacular Burgers! As You'll Know This Place Is Attached To Warhammer World, But Don't Think It'll Be Mediocre! I Had The (can't remember name if you can tell by the pictures can you say?) Burger And It Was Awesome! The Flavours Boomed Inside Your Mouth! The Sauce Was Delish And A Perfect Compliment To The Burger ! 🍔 ! The Fries Were Great Aswell! This Place Is A Dwarfish Feast! The Service Was Quick! Especially With The Fact That It Was Busier Than Usual (according to Google) A Perfect Attachment To Warhammer World! Writing This Review Makes Me Want To Eat It Again (literally I'm starving right now thinking about it) Must Go! Good pub food in a fun venue. Staff at the bar very serious about allergens, when I went back for a coffee jumped in to let me know the oat milk contained gluten, great stuff

The food is good, a decent pub standard. The staff are always very friendly, but also helpful in finding out some nutritional info for me. The atmosphere speaks for itself! There are no substitutions on the breakfast, but this is a minor issue as I just gave the extras to a friend.

Been several times now and I have to say it just keeps getting worse. The place itself is cool, and the staff are friendly and happy to help, but I don't know if it's the "cost of living crisis" thing or a change of chef, but the food is definitely getting worse. It's the triple.. More expensive, less of it and less quality. Spent well over a hundred pound there yesterday and it really wasn't worth it. Bugmans stack burger was pretty small this time and the portion of chips was half the usual amount. I'll give it one more go, but if the slide continues, I'll be looking elsewhere.

Great addition to the WHW experience, completely thematic, really enjoyable food

Nicely themed and cheaper than expected

Even if you are not heading into the Warhammer World tour, or playing in the gaming hall, Bugman's is still a great location for a bite to eat. The food options are good, and the quality of the food great. Do be aware the food serving times are different to the opening hours. Superb atmosphere, always a buzz to the place.

Surprisingly great food for a restaurant attached to Warhammer World. Had lunch here - the Steak was reasonable in price and much better quality than expected. A wide variety of options, including a child's menu.

Tried the skaven brew and it was very green. But overall good ipa

Great food, not cheap but big portions and absolutely worth it. Loads of different beers on tap. Friendly staff.

Paid £16.50 for a burger and chips. The burger itself was a pale grey, puller pork topping was cold and the onion rings we sweaty and soggy. I decided to only eat the chicken, bread and chips but it still managed to give me a bad stomach today. The food is horrific...avoid eating

This place knows what it is. Its a pub/cafeteria that's dressed up as a fantasy tavern. The staff are brilliant, very efficient, and make a mean hot chocolate. One more stamp to go until my free hot drink! The food menu is curious. Over the last decade the menu options have decreased and the food quality has varied wildly. As of April 2024 the food quality was good, but I question the addition of a steak to the menu when pizza has been removed (admittedly for a while now) One thing I will say is that every time I eat here over the last decade I do go to the toilet with an unhappy rear. None of my friends are similarly afflicted so perhaps ots just me? But potential delicate stomachs beware.

Always a great atmosphere in bugmans when there's an event on in the big hall. Well worth a visit for anyone who's played a GW game

DO NOT order the Reuben. It was disgusting and bore no resemblance to the actual American classic sandwich. It had steamed cabbage instead of sauerkraut, the bread was terrible, the cheese was cold and there was too much of it, and the thousand island was served on the side instead in the damn sandwich. The fries were decent but the ketchup brand used was very sweet. Why not just use Heinz? The two beers we had were both good though.

Menu has changed dramatically since we were last here. Just about everything seems to be in weird combinations. However, staff are friendly & helpful, & it's obviously very convenient to have somewhere to eat on site.

Food is fine everyone in our group enjoyed their meals but there are relatively limited healthy options on the menu. The bar service seemed very slow and made worse by the queuing system which lacked any clear signage when approaching the bar (somewhere you don't typically queue at). This was actively detrimental to the speed of service too as people hadn't seen the taps to decide on drinks before getting to the bar as all signage at opposite end from where asked to queue. Balcony area is nice as venue is otherwise lacking in natural light and bad acoustics (bar is far better than the main hall).

Only if you are a very Warhammer geek, the food is acceptable, but nothing remarkable.

This was a bit magical actually! You sit in a warhammer environment type taverna and eat the best food you can imagine! The staff is ever so polite, and you can think it is a bit expensive, but the portions are HUGE!

Great pub food. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Visited recently in 2024. Had the chicken and waffles with cider and buttermilk gravy. Gravy was thinner then water unfortunately and lacked flavour; rest of the meal was great. Tater tots; great. Gravy, letdown.

Really don't know where to begin.. If you're in this place then you my friends are Legends. Food was incredible as it always is.. Just the right amount to wish you were wearing Joggers!! Burger was so delicious I swear I seen a Halfling trying to steal the recipe. Chips so nice that none survived. Onion rings so moreish I could've bitten fingers and not cared. Garlic bread so gorgeous that Grampa Nurgle would welcome the aromas. Salad.. well, it's salad aint it.... Atmosphere as great as it should be with people all around talking hobby and lore. 1 word... Bangin 👊

I love it here. The food is consistently tasty, there are plenty of choices and the staff are always very pleasant. I've visited several times during Warhammer World visits, for both breakfast and lunch, and have always been impressed.

This is not just a gimmick bar! Genuinely good food at excellent value, and their special beers were great. Really makes for a great day out at Warhammer World,

*Long review alert* So I’ve been into Bugman’s a few times over the last couple of months and have to say that the new menu is fantastic. I had stopped eating at Bugman’s for a while as the previous menu wasn’t all that healthy and very little variety, especially if you end up having to share your food with a little one. However, the new menu has so many new and interesting items on it, that I’ve felt compelled to go back and try new things each time and we haven’t been disappointed. The chicken tikka flatbreads are so nice, that I’d honestly pop to warhammer world just to eat those! The atmosphere in Bugman’s is always welcoming and with having a toddler with me, who is always running about. No one ever complains and the staff are always so super helpful. They’ve provided crayons and pictures to colour in, to extra cutlery etc if needed. Shout out to Sam and River who have been very helpful, welcoming and wore a smile even when it was super busy!

Prices are a bit high for what you get, especially soft drinks, but it's a captive audience and games workshop so as expected

Lovely staff and atmosphere, my other half is an wh painter and gamer. Went there for the exhibition. The chicken Caesar salad was absolutely lush. The meat is tender and full of flavour. The burger was good too.

Love a visit to this restaurant. The food ia just as amazing as the atmosphere. Super fast service with extra friendly staff. Great for little kids and big ones.(if you can get them through the shop first!)

Came in for some lunch yesterday with my son. The food was really impressive, great flavours, combined nicely. The service was great too, really helpful, and pleasant. Special thanks to River too! The atmosphere is great here too, lovely setting and a very worthwhile visit. Also have great events going on, with special menus and entertainment going on for these.

The rump steak was good although the chimichurri sauce had a very poor quality. Neither in Argentina or Brazil I had such a horrendous sauce. If I were you, I’d substitute this one for another one. Best of luck to you

I came in while visiting Warhammer World. I had planned on skipping lunch here after a friend told me it wasn't that great. After seeing other people's meals and realizing I was hungry I decided to try the chicken burger. I was super surprised at first how good the tater tots were (honestly some of the best I've ever had) and the burger was spicy and delicious! My traveling companions had the Half Chicken and the Bugmans burger and all enjoyed it. (Though they were all jealous of my tater tots) Overall I'd highly recommend it! Even if you aren't a Warhammer fan the staff were friendly, it's got a fun theme and the food was great too!

This food place is part of Warhammer World but the food is awesome, the staff are friendly and the prices are (surprisingly) very good value. If you go to the Warhammer world you really should stop off at Bugmans

We ate here 3 of the days at Warhammer world! And in that time I tried the Bugman Burger, the Korean Burger and the Ribs and all of them where fantastic, plus being on the site as you game? Very handy!

The food was great and the place was decorated like a fantasy tavern. Music was loudly playing, fitting the theme yet not to loud

Solid food that's well priced. The team were friendly and fast and very helpful. If you're a Games Workshop fan this is a 5 all round. My wife isn't, but she enjoyed it!

This is such and awesome restaurant to visit if your a warhammer fan ! The theme is amazing and it's a big restaurant, they even have a bar. The staff are really friendly and the food and drinks are reasonably priced. I have breakfast and my hubby and daughters had lunch (breakfast ends at 11.30 and lunch starts at 11.30). The food was amazing so tasty and big portions they went down a treat. The coffee was really nice and they even do slushies so the kids and hubby were happy. I would highly recommend eating here and trying the food out its definitely worth a visit.

Bugman's Bar is much better than it has any right to be! The food is great, beers are good if you like real ales, and even the coffee was nice.

We came here for lunch during a visit to warhammer world. Ordered 2x burgers that gave us both without a doubt the worst heartburn we’ve ever had. I’ve no idea what was in the oil or burger patty, but it’s still crippling me now the next day. Was £36 for two burgers and two drinks.

Food slightly pricy but burgers are pretty hefty and beer is good nothing to complain about - blitzers best was a very solid stout. Good atmosphere - very family friendly and well-mannered staff.

Honestly I didn't know what I was expecting. But although the food looked good, I found there was not much variety on the menu. But still a great atmosphere and the staff seemed very friendly.

There was a bit of a wait for food, but this was explained when we ordered, and it was very busy as it was a Saturday. Food was good and quite reasonably priced.

Clean and fun restaurant, cafeteria style. Generous portions and friendly staff. We enjoyed the artifacts from the games in the decor. Everyone liked their meals. Lots of seating. I had a lovely cider and salad with tasty bacon at lunch and a delicious latte later.

Had a lovely burger and fries today, excellent quality and flavour.

Still very nice ambience. Unfortunaly the changed the menu and now there are only a few products on it(mostly burger and chips)

Pretty cool place, but my burger was stone-cold in the middle. If you pay premium prices you'd at least expect the food to be warm. Curly fries were tasty!

Excellent atmosphere and excellent decor. Fits perfectly with the theme of Warhammer World and GW. Spacious area with plenty of seating, some with a little more style than the others. I can see the place getting crowded during some events, but even during an event in late March it wasn't bad. Drinks menu is good, some interesting beer exclusives by Bugmans, all of which are worth the try. The food menu is a little limited, but the taste is great!

You're at Warhammer World, in a bar with Warhammer fans... what's not to love?! Had a blast. They need to embrace the the themed food and drinks more, make it more of an occasion, and figure out a faster model to get the drinks and food out. Still great time.

Whilst the menu has shrunken considerably in recent years; what still remains on the menu is still good. So overall; poor options, decent quality, amazing service and amazing atmosphere

The vegetarian breakfast looked great but it was all very oily, plus the mushrooms were overly salty for my taste. Overall, it was decent value, though.

Such a great place! Whilst I do miss the wings that were on the menu, as they were unbeatable, the breakfast and burger selection remains superb. Friendly environment, nice atmosphere and good service. The selection of beers are brilliant. A favourite for me, my wife and kids! This is a gem.
