Food was great in here year's ago. No it tastes like the food has been warmed up. Please put it back to the way it was

Absolute awful place food. been left out for ages no flavour could hardly eat anything as little choice and poor quality. Place was empty but staff didn't even ask if meal ok

First time here since it was taken over, food was lovely with plenty of choice. All you can eat but pick from a menu rather than buffet style. All meals also available in vegeterian options. Staff were very polite and friendly.

Loren the waitress was brilliant, as was the food!!!! Definitely going to come back with the family!! 😊😊😊😊

Food was stale absolutely awful experience police were called as i didnt want to pay for meal and drinks other than the drink that was drank then had the money thrown at me never go there again went to one in oxton road after sevice an food there was lovely

Me encantó que me hacen, está fresco para usted, lo que elegimos de la lista.Los entrantes eran increíbles. Tan bueno que ellos ordenados de nuevo. Por desgracia, estaba tan lleno de entrantes y pato que no tienen un principal. Sabemos que no hacer la próxima vez que error y salir de la habitación!El personal era excelente y amable.Resulta extraño que un miembro del personal estaba pintando el techo mientras la gente comía, pero no es molestiaen general una experiencia encantadora :).

I went here with my partner and 2 kids , the buffet was not on and I went off the menu service was terrible , tables and cutlery was dirty beer was warm and flat , music was far to loud , it is the worst place I have ever set foot in , I explained that I didn't drink my 2nd beer as it was warm and flat and they charged me for it anyway . My advice is don't do it to yourselves and ignore any good reviews , the only good thing that came out of this is that me and my family did not end up in hospital , this place needs condemning !!!!!!!!

Estaba un poco nervioso para comer aquí como leído unas cuantas críticas negativas acerca de ser sucio, etc. Estoy muy contento de haber escogido para seguir adelante. El personal era más que amable, hacían lo imposible para nosotros. Éramos un grupo de 13 para mi cumpleaños sobrinas. Aunque se trata de un todo lo que pueda comer, nos pareció raro al principio que no era un buffet autoservicio tipo. Se pide a cada campo de sopa de postre como allá. Todos los cursos que trajeron a la mesa era excelente. Uno de nuestro grupo no tiene ninguna queja. El único inconveniente de que no había mucha elección para postres, pero aparte de esto no había otros inconvenientes en cuanto a la comida. La mayoría de nuestro grupo no llegó a tener una comida principal, ya que eran demasiado completo del cursos anteriores, incluyendo un campo de pato después de los aperitivos están acabados con, que pueden añadir el pato es delicioso. Sin duda recomiendo y volveré.

Otra re encarnación de lo que solía ser el Regentville. He perdido la cuenta de los cambios de nombre y por desgracia con cada cambio de nombre es una disminución en las opciones de comida. Y ¿desde cuándo bacon y salchichas ha sido parte de un buffet chino. Muy decepcionados en nuestra visita hoy en día. No gambas galletas saladas a menos que pedíamos y ninguno de lo habitual acompañamientos para ir con el pato y tortitas y muy poco surtido de platos y prácticamente no hay nada en los postres, pasteles, helados, Orange Quarters y trozos de manzana ir brown. No iremos de nuevo

6 adults and two children in our party. The waiter informed us that the price had increased to £12.95 but the menus still said £11.95. it is supposed to be all you can eat however we were limited to ordering 6 dishes at a time. We were told we could re order more after we finish the first dishes. However it took ages to cook the first set of dishes, we then re ordered and again we waited ages then ordered our mains, well after almost 25 minutes of waiting for mains we decided we had waited far too long and decided to leave, we paid for what we had eaten and drank. Children very upset that the ice cream machine was broken, My second visit and my last.

Attended a birthday bash here on a Saturday night. All the food was ordered then brought out to us and was amazing. We did the buffet and I didn't even have a main as the soup, starters and duck pancakes sorted me right out. Main meals had by others looked great though. Lovely set up and amazing friendly staff. Be there or be square!!

Enjoyed the £11.95 "all you can eat" on Friday evening. Had no complaints whatsoever about the food, all very tasty and great value. The staff were attentive and friendly without being over bearing.The surroundings may not be the most classy but having said that it was comfortable enough and clean and I liked the fact you werent sat on top of others which is often the case when you go for a chinese meal. When we were there they were also catering for two large parties but this didnt slow down our service and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and have a nice evening

It's now Dazs dim sumHave been to both the day time buffet & the night time all you can eat set menu.Have taken 2 very picky teenagers to the afternoon buffet & both found plenty of fresh, tasty goodies to eat, all 3 of us left full & satisfied (& both of them can eat enough to feed a small army)I go quite regularly to the evening all you can eat set menu with my mum & step dad & always leave satisfied & full, you get the choice of 5 soups & prawn crackers to start, then a selection of appetisers (ribs, spring rolls, prawn toast ect) cooked fresh to order & in my opinion the ribs are to die for, very meaty & meat is juicy & falls off the bone, then some very tasty crispy duck with pancakes, then you have a wide variety of main course choices all served with boiled or fried rice, I really like the ok chicken & the salt & pepper pork chops if I'm honest, the banana or pineapple fritters, or ice cream & bits of fruit & cake, loads of choice & the option of having more of each course so you could try lots of different things, all cooked fresh to order & at the great price of £11.95 per person, & they don't mind me taking the rib bones home for a tasty treat for my dogs! The staff are very welcoming & made us feel like old friends rather than customers, would definitely recommend this place (& do to my friends) to anyone after great Chinese for a very good price, ignore the bad reviews from earlier this year as they are from the previous owner, you are missing out on great Chinese if you don't go & try it

Firstly I would like to say that this is no longer Buffet 88 and most of the reviews saved on here are reviewing previous owners. DAZ DIM SUM as it is now is the best Chinese Buffet I have eaten in. In the evening (I think from 5 but could be 6) it is a cook to order from a set menu restaurant. Still eat as much as you like the food is fresh hot and delicious. Last night was our 6th visit. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. We arrived at 7pm and left at 9.25 We were not rushed or hurried through our courses. There is a choice of soups. My favourite is the chicken and mushroom full of vegetables and mushrooms, my husband had the chicken curry soup. The list of appetizers is then extensive and you can keep ordering a selection until you have finished. Everything is really tasty. The meat spring rolls and vegetable spring rolls are particularly delicious. Then comes the duck if you can manage it and a large choice of main courses with choice of accompaniments. Those people who know me well will know I don't eat rice outside of home normally, (I know I am a little cautious but...) however, I have no problem eating rice from DAZ DIM SUM. Red hot and fresh tasting. If you can fit anymore in there are fritters for pudding banana or pineapple and an ice cream machine. Not sure what else some of the other reviews on here want for their money but I feel the value and quality of this food is such good value. The cook to order buffet is £11.95 and worth every penny. In the day time they also have a normal bain marie buffet. I have had this once and had a perfectly good meal also. The staff are very attentive even when it is busy they still make time to come and ask if everything is ok and see if you want more food. Well done DAZ DIM SUM.

Went here Tuesday and it has to be the worst place in birkenhead. Took 15 minutes to get any sevices the starters where cold greasy and soggy and the main course had some sort of homan hair init. I was disgraced by this place and I really didnt even want to pay the bill warning people to stay clear its filthy.

I visited Darren dim sum with friends from work. The food was lovely and plenty of choice. Nice and fresh and so cheap £11.99 eat all you can. Even the drinks are cheap. Fantastic chinese.Lovely friendly staff. The best in the area. We will be visiting again. Keep up the good work.

I visited Daz dim sum ( new name it's called ) on Saturday 12 September there was 5 off us in total the place is a BANQUET BUFFET ALL YOU CAN EAT so just order off menu they cook it fresh. The food is amazing you can tell the chef makes a lot off the appetiser him self and does not buy them in made up. I could not fault the food one bit the flavour and freshness was great The bar was good price for drinks as well I paid £85 for whole bill inc food and drinks for 5 This place is well worth a visit don't believe the few bad reviews Thanks for a great meal and service

This place should get a prize for most improved restaurant. Since it changed hands earlier this year it has become a family favourite. Where else can you get hot freshly cooked unlimited food for £12 a head? Staff friendly and helpful. Have never tried the daytime food but the evening stuff is to die for. Daz Dim Sum is probably the best Chinese food in the area.

The place was deserted which mirrored the amount of food available on this 'all you can eat buffet'...the food was displayed in factory canteen food containers and I was unable to tell which dish was which as nothing told me. Half the containers were empty of whatever they were selling and the service was appalling. I asked for a cloth to hold the soup ladle as it was so hot and the kiddie, who pretended to work there, felt the spoon handle in case I was lying!! Once back at my table, the lighting was that non existent that I couldn't see what I was eating which could be a blessing. There was food on the floor that my wife slipped on...I could go on and on.....Please avoid this car crash!!!

We went here to celebrate my son's GSCE result but we were really disappointed. We were expecting for a buffet but actually it was like set menu meal after 6pm at 11.95/person. The appetizer was greasy and hard, looks like it has been microwaved several times. The only food I enjoyed was the black pepper pork chop which was very tender. The chips was forgettable and the dessert, banana and pineapple fritters, forget about it. We paid £43.00 for 3 person including drinks. For me, its not worth the money. I'd rather go to Nandos and have 2 whole chicken for that amount of money.

I have been to this Chinese for the 3rd time , loved it the first time and didn't disappoint on 3rd time , food is cooked fresh and went home stuffed x service is excellent and such value for money , if you haven't been yet just give it a go , new owners know how to make you feel welcome !!

We went to the Buffet 88 tonight, but its now called Daz Dim Sum.Service was fantastic & Food was to die for.Waitresses were really good & helpful, nothing was to much Trouble.But The Best Was The Food Best I've Tried In A While...!! We Started with the Soup, Then nearly all the Starters.Then the Duck & Pancakes...Then we ordered a Mixture of Main Meals, there was nothing we could Fault with everything we had.We've tried the Rest, But Found the Best.. If you went quality before quantity PLEASE TRY IT FOR YOUR SELF... Well done to the New Owners...☆☆☆☆☆

This Restaurant never disappoints. I have been several times and also used to be a customer before the restaurant opened when they did home deliveries. I went this evening with my parents and as my dad who is 82 and not a fan of buffet we opted for the all you can eat freshly cooked and delivered to your table. So for £11.95 a head we all had a soup and prawn crackers followed by a variety of dim sum ie prawn toast, meat spring rolls,king prawns in batter and much more. Everything arrived hot and freshly cooked. We decided to skip the offer of crispy duck and pancakes as from past experience it filled us up and we didn't make it to the mains. So on with the mains, king prawn satay, chicken sweet and sour, salt and pepper pork chops and beef Malaysian curry. Each dish was enjoyed by each of the diners. We could of finished off with a sweet of fritters n ice cream but as you can imagine we had no room left. Each visit we have had friendly attentive staff. All in all a truly Chinese culinary delight. It is well worth the money and I would definitely recommend

My son and I decided to give it a try as we had been a few years ago and my son liked it. We went before shopping, around two o'clock, there was only a small selection of food which were barely covered and surrounded with flies. We asked if some fresh stuff could be made as we didn't want to eat what had been standing for what looked like some time. We ate very little, finished our drinks and left. This has to be the worse restaurant I have ever been too, very disappointed, only positive was that we didn't get sick.

new owners since may .food was hot buffet lunch time ,it was lovely place is spot less, the head chef is DARREN LEE whom i may add was the chef at the summer palace for 15 years,the food was spot on and plenty full,the waitress sarah was very attentiff to all the customers needs, the cost at lunch time is 6.50,which we thought was very good value considering you can keep filling your plate if needed,.we will return when shopping again when in area, they also have an evening menu , for 11 95 which again is value because it serves ,soups,appertisers,as well as main meals,chidren are very welcome xx

Good food. Wide selection of starters, mains and desserts. and excellent prices. Eat as much as you like but order at the table. NOT a buffet (which works well). Service a little slow but overall it was good value for money.

Went in on Sat 16-5-2015 now under new management and a better system. Same as before but you now order your dishes of a menu and all cooked fresh and piping HOT! Tempura prawns and crispy duck on the bone & Yung chow fried rice loads of pieces of meat & king prawns. If busy a little slow, but order all starters together & mains together so your not waiting so long. Prices have gone up to £12.95 at night. But the daytime buffet help yourself is still available and at a very reasonable cost give them a call 0151-649-9888 if like me, I went back with all the ADVERSE feedback from last owners & was very happy with the STAFF & SERVICE ALL NEW STAFF so you NOW get service and there GOOD! So if you had a bad time then try again and give them a update to your experience as I have.

My wife and I went to this buffet restaurant with a great deal of trepidation after reading the poor reviews left by others on this site. However the only poor point for this restaurant was the toilet facilities. the food portions although initially small, for cost saving reasons, was refilled regularly and with greater quantities with the arrival of more customers. The food choices were wide and varied and the food was very rich, well presented and flavoursome. The staff were courteous and efficient but not to the extent of hovering at the table unlike some restaurants we have dined at. Although the building is in need of a refurbishment this does not detract from the excellent food that we sampled. Many thanks to the staff for giving a warm welcome on a very chilly evening.

Went out for my birthday night with friends from work and wanted a buffet style place where we could eat and drink to our hearts content. It was GRIM, the place itself was dire, so shabby, and DEAD…no atmosphere at all. My friend asked for a southern comfort, which was on the menu, which they did not have, so she asked for a rose wine, which they also did not have. They offered a free bottle of wine which was a really kind gesture, but the wine was off, and tasted of vinegar but we felt too embarrassed to speak up considering it was free. The food has clearly been sitting out for a long time, no idea what most of it was, it was flavourless, dry and just really poor quality. I was unwell for a few days afterwards. During the night, I was desperate for another soft drink, but the staff had all taken break and were sitting at the other end of the restaurant having their food. There was no 'value' for money, couldn't believe how expensive it was considering the quality was piss poor.Will never be going here again, would not recommend.

Been here loads of times, and I personally love it! It is what it is; I dont go to an all you can eat buffet in birkenhead if i expect free chopsticks, gourmet food and a mariachi band for entertainment. The food is nice, the toilets was clean and the staff are friendly. I came here on Chinese New Year and it was great, with dragons, performers and special golden cutlery!I know a lot of people have given it negative reviews, but I can't see why, personally. The duck is obviously duck and if you cant taste that you've got a problem. The don't want your shoe love its probably dead tatty.I recommend!

Went to buffet 88 with my girlfriend the other day. It was vile. Wouldnt recommend ANYONE going. Drinks are expensive, flat and warm. Food was VILE. Half the time I didnt even know what I was eating! Dont think what they are serving is actually what they are serving. "Duck" dont think it was duck at all!! Couldnt begin to tell you what it was! So we decided we wasnt going to pay for the food considering it was we only paid for the drinks and they wasnt very happy- long story short... they have my shoe, and I want it back!!!!!!!!!!

Visited this 'Restaurant' for my mothers birthday was end of July boiling hot day got there sat down drinks took so long we had our food back at the table before they managed to do 2 cokes and a larger an wasn't at all busy finally they come as she put the tray down she knocked a full pint of coke over me the table the food my phone my clothes an shoes were soaked all they did was move us then found out the girl serving at the bar was 12 YEARS OLD they couldn't understand it is ILLEGAL and yet they still tried to charge full price including the drink that she spilt.

my review is based on lunch time. In my opinion for £5.50 per person it offers good value. sure it's not the best in the world or even the wirral but if you want top notch food it will cost you a lot more than £5.50 and certainly would not be all you can eat. reason for an average score is 2 fold. average food at an average price but found the drinks especially the soft drinks expensive. All in all me and the family were hungry and we fancied something other than McDonald's and wanted to feel full. job done no longer full on a budget

just got in from a fab meal and loads of choices and all was fresh and staff was warm and welcome and all the reports that you read i could not find any faults at all and paying only £7.50 for eat all you can and £1.25 a coke what more do you want and will be going there again with more friends as service was fab food was hot and good and what more there was not many so you was not pushing to get in like some places so please take a go and give it a try

I used to come here a lot when I was younger and was lovely, was thinking while I'm in the area to go..We a family of four had to wait for a table to be cleared even though there was not many people in there, people were ordering cokes and they were using cheap brand, warm coke and still charging full price, food was nice, nothing special. And me and my mum were both glad we had the next day off work cause we were both ill off it. The place has certainly let itself go and I will not be returning again x

To ANYONE that's thinking about going for a meal out!! DO NOT go to BUFFET 88!! Go to the Greek place on borough road!! Anyways... Me and my mother went after work today on Saturday 26th July 2014 and the food was freezing and I mean freezing! It was vile!! The "duck" as they call it was disgusting and i truly mean that! I've never been so violently sick in my whole life!! It smelt like wet damp dog and tasted disgusting... Was not duck at all! Couldnt even begin to tell you what it was!!!! The staff was rude shouting at us to pay she was getting very angry and violent and rude, other member of the public agreed about this disgusting food and as we told the staff in this buffet 88... We shall be ringing the food and hygiene standards when we have the chance! So please EVERYONE!! DO NOT GO THERE!! Go to the Greek little place off borough road!!!! Hope this helped! I'm sure EVERYONE will agree with me!!!!

we was being watched on every move we made drink a bit pricey £2.40 for a coke most of food was just warm soup was good to hold wall paper up it was that thick with gelatine plates always cold so that makes meal cold to start with would be nice to have last owners back lol.

went on 31/1/2014 Chinese new year was total crap,,, no chop sticks, cutlery was dirty, main meals were chicken,, no beef available,, chef keprt topping things up, but left covers off food,,, is not a place I will visit again,,, this used to be a very good establishment when I first went,, will not go again.furthermore my ten year old son had to pay full price as he was over "height limit" he is ten AND ONLY HAD 2 SAUSAGES AND CHIPS, AND 1 APPLE PIE THAT TASTED OF MINCE PIE.SO PROBERBLY WAS A ICELAND MINCE PIE.

Visited this all you can eat buffet with my son on a Thursday at 7pm.The place was virtually empty (no surprise there) and my son (12 years old) wanted chicken skewers with chips. The chips were stale as they had been reheated in a deep fat fryer. The aromatic duck was cold and the pancakes were not fresh, there was no sauce or cucumber to accompany it either.There was a poor choice of main meals and after complaining I felt that my complaint went in one ear and out of the other. (Not a language barrier, more they couldn't be bothered).To add insult to injury they charged me £21.00 for the privilege. Won't go there again and advise anyone else to give this place a wide birth also!

Went for a meal with friends a large Pepsi costed 2.40 the chips felt half cooked the staff was just staring at us while we eat wasn't nice. The rest of the food was decent but it wasn't hot just warm and I was sick the next couple of days

Usual all you can eat place. Im not too fussed on them anyway but went here with a friend and it was okay, same as the others. Clean and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Food was luke warm an sloppy.No sauces available, food was very limited in variety.Service was slow even though there was only 3 tables of people.Used plates left on table throughout the time spent there.Would not recommend anyone to got there. I will not go back there.

Went here ages ago a few times and it was ok. Last time i went most of the food was cold even though it was really busy, and not enjoyable. I had a bad stomache for a few days afterwards. Will not be going again

we booked table for 7 people .turned up balloons were hanging as if thay had been up since christmas 2010 .sat down ordered are drinks .went on to hot plates or should i say cold plates // all the food was COLD it was so bad i would of not gave it to my chickens .soup was so watered down i left it as for a selection of food forget it .its gone down the dumps so please dont waste your money .you have been warned .but thats up to you .i wasted my money should of gone the chippy........ went....... june 8th 2013

Poor quality food - the meat was dried out therefore had probably been sitting there all day. The sauces were very greasy, and did not taste good! Dessert was budget soft scoop ice cream.None of the food was terribly hot - more like luke warm - which is surely a concern for food safety as the food should be kept piping hot to stop bacteria growing.Also the chicken in the chicken curry tasted very strange, a bit off I think.Despite it being all you can eat I left hungry instead of risking eating the food. I would not go back if you paid me.

Have been to this restaurant before and found it ok, nothing special, went last night and the restaurant was literally empty, only 2 people in there was me and partner. Hardly any food out, what was there looked like it had been there for hours, food dry welded onto side of metal containers, rice had had all moisture cooked out of it to the point of looking like raw rice. Will not be going back again from this point, huge disappointment and waste of money. Asked by member of staff if everything was ok, told them about issues and food was cold (literally) the guy at counter said i should have told him, my thoughts is that restaurant serving hot food was kinda a prerequisite.NOT RECOMMENDED!

All the reviews can't all be wrong. Food that's under the required temperature to keep bugs away, flys landing on desserts filthy toilets all in all a disaster waiting to happen. No wonder its changed its name so many times

Save your money and go to Fuxion in Cheshire Oaks instead.......this place is dire! 8pm on a week night and hardly anything left, what food was left had been under hot lights for some time as most of it had burnt onto the bottom of the serving dishes. Greasy,dry and tasteless. Avoid!

I have been here recently and really didn't think much of it, the food was not very hot, slightly greasy. the staff were pleasant but the food is very over priced for what you get, not sure i would go there again.

I had read the reports about this place and was not too sure what to expect but could not fault it at all, the food was lovely, hot and regularly replaced and I would definitely go there again.

The food available was old and dried out. We had the choice of crispy aromatic chicken instead of duck everything else was even worse. Even the cake for dessert had been out for a few hours and gone hard.

In The last couple of years there has been a lot to choose from especially as I am a fussy eater. If you leave a bit on your plate or you dont like it they will take it away. The 3 isles used to be quite long and now they are not very long. The Ice cream thingy has gone and They hardly have choclate ice cream. Although when you go to get the spoon they are sometimes very hot and I had to put it back. Its funny the way the man at the open bar has a permanant smile it makes me laugh. But whenever I go tere with my dad ... If he sees a bone he will chuck up. So he went to get Umm what was it Prawns or something from the open bar and all i saw was my dad running through the restaurant with his hand over his mouth. I knew why . Unfortunatly he didnt make it to the bathroom in time which embarrassed me. he still managed to eat his prawns!! and it didnt help that my brother was eating sticky ribs. I think if they got free soft drinks it would be perfect. I think you should get free condoms instead of the mints you get. Id suggest they get one more isle with food on because they used to have 3 isles and i can remember . Im 14 you know. id rate it 78/100 overall.

Last time we visited this restaurant in May it was absolutely fantastic. The range of food was great and the open kitchen served all kinds of dishes and specials. The man cooking on the open kitchen was a pure delight, made us feel so welcome and a credit to the restaurant. This is why we decided to go back last week and take the family for a special occasion.This visit, we found the food was very limited, a lady was cooking in the open kitchen who wasn't very accommodating. We arrived at 7pm to be told they had no chicken to cook and very few special dishes served for about 30 mins before being told they had no more left! Bearing in mind the open kitchen is only open at night and we were seated at 7pm. The wipe ice cream machine had gone and we were left with an old battered freezer which contained a load of "Tescos Value Ice Cream" . When we went to give the money in or the bill, it was snatched out of my hand, which I thought was a little rude. On this note, unless the restaurant goes back to the way I remembered it in May, we will not be returning as we were so very disappointed!:-(

me and my partner go here alot and we have planned more evenings here too with family and friends :) they now have a bar where they make and prepare the food when you ask and the food they make is absolutely beautiful .... steaks and chicken and pancakes oh the pancakes are fabulous! absolutely love this place i was vegetarian for 3 years then i smelt my partners chicken that he ordered here and lets just say i am no longer vegetarian!

the bathrooms are always clean and tidy the baby changing room is also clean . Wot a lovely welcome by the staff and manager makes the stay more better.

exellent food lovely staff and yes the house ghost..you may see the ghost of the old postmaster that got murdered ther many years ago ..its in tom slemins book ...he was clubbed to death by a robber early in the morning and is said to walk round the landing were the toilets are my grandad worked ther at the time so its true ...

wide range of dishes like a macdonalds of the far east but served in school canteen type venue

Not a big fan of buffet restaurants but we have 2 young children and they love it. Staff are great and don't mind when the kids make a mess. It's a cheap night out and food is ok.

So much choice, an all you can eat buffet with good food, always had a good meal here.
