Buffalo Bill's in Wealden

As a large family group we have visited buffalo bills for numerous birthday celebration dinners since I moved to east sussex 4 years ago. The staff have always been warm and attentive, the wait between ordering and service is not longbat all and the food is hot, fresh, Huge portions, and delious every time! I recommend to anyone looking for a warm, fun casual eatery.

We were going to a friends party 3 minutes from Buffalo Bills so the location was perfect for us to get out heads down for the evening. The friendly hotel owner greeted us on a arrival and was very helpful explaining the process of finding our room and using the TV etc. In the morning we struggled to find a taxi back to our car that was left at the party the evening before, and the owner kindly organised one for us. A very friendly service with a room that was clean and perfect for our needs for one nights stay.

Warmly received. Delicious food. Not expensive. Only used the restaurant.

This is a restaurant which appears to have a hotel attached, I'm wondering the google reviews are hotel room focused and not food.

Just back from a meal for my birthday. Absolutely top notch. Harley our server was A+++++, attentive, friendly, polite and a real credit to this restaurant. The food was exceptional. We will certainly be coming back for seconds. If you haven’t already please give this place a visit you won’t be disappointed.

This is a bit of a strange one. Went in at 19.15 on a Thursday, and we were the only two in there. We ordered a starter and main, the food was good no complaints, it was flavoursome and we both enjoyed it. The only thing I could say was a negative was that they didn't tell us the kitchen closed at 19.45, so we missed out on dessert .

We arrived last night and was welcomed into the Motel and diner by brilliant well mannered staff who made us feel very welcome, The Food is absolutely fantastic I must say I’ve never had steak like this before just amazing highly recommend to all especially family and friends

I was at ur restaurant today for dinner as I was traveling home to b very disappointed with the staff as I went to pay for my dinner to find out I wud b charged for table service witch I never received when I questioned this the staff member said the management has told us to do this but the worst bit is the staff member who served me was the one I was paying nd I asked her did u take my order at the bar or table she said at the bar so I said at what point is that service charge when I'm doing the work too but the check of it all she said to the other staff member I do it all the time so she now admits she dose fraudulently add things to people bills so let's see how trading standards likes this one

Incredible service and amazing food couldn’t ask for more! Had a lovely evening perfect choice for my girlfriend’s birthday meal.

Dated, cluttered. Needs gutting and a good clean. Service is non existent, felt like we were a burden. "Server" slapped menus down on the bar and said sit were ever. No taking us to a table, no explanation of how things work. Asked for a drinks menu didn't exist, even your basic rundown pub has some form of drinks menu. Food was basic, most definitely pre-made sauces. That taste of sugar or water. Burgers were frozen then had every last bit of moisture smashed out of it. No flavour no taste, mainly due to another jar sauce which taste is just sugar. Went up to the bar to pay due to the lack of service, the "server" had the cheek the just tell me a price, didn't print me a bill and show me, I had to ask for it. They even had to cheek to add service charge without providing any actual service. Being in the industry for 20 years I'm always happy to pay and expect nothing but the basic level of service. Which unfortunately was not provided. The place has the potential to be amazing, with a bit of love, some investment and a new chef. At the least some people that actually care.

Hosts were brilliant. Lovely food and hotel room was very clean. Lovely stay. Would definitely recommend and come back to visit next summer.

Ate at Buffalo Bill's today, and I'm glad. The food was really tasty, good kids options and vegetarian choices too, although I did go for fish in the end and it was delicious. Everyone else loved their food too, which was big portions, good quality and well-cooked. The lady who served us was lovely. I'm genuinely annoyed we don't live closer but if we are nearby we'll be back.

Don't just mosey on through. Stop at Buffalo Bill's for the best in Tex-Mex. I was pleasantly surprised.

Travelling home from Gatwick Airport and a holiday in Crete we were hungry and thirsty so stopped here. Absolutely the best chilli con carne and quessido. Staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. A lovely experience and if we lived nearby would visit often.

Booked a room for some employees staying away for work. What they were met by was a blood stained duvet nicely exposed without a quilt cover on folded up nicely for the lads to see in all its glory (see photos) not sure why/how any cleaner would deem this acceptable its downright disgusting. Additionally to this the carpet appeared to have matching blood stains giving the room a nice cohesive feeling - Buffalo Bill suddenly felt like a great name for this place if you think of the one from silence of the lambs as this must have been his room! The lads were given some free pints and changed room which atleast had bed sheets and no blood stains that were visible at least.

Stayed here for a while, and these guys do a lot to up keep their grounds and supply a service to everyone. Great place

My partner and I stopped off at Breakfast galore Bills on the way home to save me cooking. We were surprised to find we had the place all to ourselves. Shocked really as the place has great food, service is good no reason it shouldn’t be packed solid. We had ribs that melted in the mouth, steak cooked to perfection along with choice of fries, salad etc. Followed by warm sticky toffee pudding and cream. Mmmm mmm! Just lovely. Booked on website as thought it would be busy on a rainy Saturday lunchtime. Arrived and parked up easily & walked into restaurant and it was empty. We had choice of seating and was served drinks promptly. I ordered the Steak Fajitas and wife ordered the half rack of ribs. Food came out within 15 mins and was extremely well presented with the Fajitas sizzling on the plate. Wife loved the ribs with a generous portion of chips, overall a satisfying experience. Truly can’t believe why this was so quiet on a Saturday lunchtime but get yourself here if you like TexMex food, you won’t be disappointed.

Incredible food, the burritos were so good, fantastic portion, tasty food, generous amount of food packed with flavour. The staff were friendly and despite the fact it was quiet there was a nice atmosphere sphere with a fire roaring.

No experience of rooms, but the meals that the five of us had were really great and none of us left the restaurant feeling hungry.

Fantastic food with great sized portions, party of 12 and service was amazing. Great decor in the restaurant, nice and cozy by the fire place 👍

On the plus side, the portion sizes were good. My rack of ribs was large enough that I took half of it home. The food did taste good. On the negative side, out of the 5 of us who ate there, 2 meals were almost cold, and one meal was served 5 minutes after the others. And this was not at peak times, we were the only people in there when we ordered. Despite calling itself a TexMex restaurant, there was no option to have a bowl of tortilla chips with our drinks. In fact the only option we saw on the menu for tortilla chips was a £14.95 sharing platter "smothered" in sauces.

Had lunch here was friendly and the food was good and reasonable.

My friend and I ate at Buffalo Bills today and overall the experience was underwhelming. My meal was a burrito, which I would rate a 5/10. The burrito appeared to be 2 tortillas put together, filled with what I thought was precooked packet rice, though I may be wrong, very dry, but adequately spiced, with very little chicken, some kidney beans and not a lot else. The menu said bell peppers, onions and salsa should be inside but I found none. The wrap itself was soft on top, generously covered in melted cheese, but rock hard underneath, not crispy but tough, like it had been microwaved first. Couldn't eat that bit at all. The saving grace was the pots of salsa, sour cream and guacamole, which saved the meal and made it tasty, otherwise it would have been a 2/10. Even the tortilla chips were the cheapest you can get. The side of chips were very nice. My friends meal was half ribs and chicken wings, the first lot got sent back as they mixed up the order. My friend said it was ok, but for the price not good quality meat. I tried a wing and it was overcooked, slightly tough, and the piri piri sauce was too hot. A buffalo sauce would be more appropriate. The whole thing could have been so much better with a little care and better ingredients, or just a chef who cared, or even understood mexican cuisine. Having worked in catering much of my career, I am a harsher critic, but to be fair I wouldn't eat there again. The lad serving was very pleasant and professional. All round, could do much better!

A great resteraunt doesn't seem much on the outside but very nice inside great food and great customer service.

Happened to have breakfast here for a business networking event. The breakfast was good so decided to go back for a western dinner. Food and service was good and will go back again.

My search for a nearby restaurant that serves PROPER Tex Mex food is finally over! To my delight, we had absolutely fantastic Mexican dinner. We will be back for more.

This is a hidden gem, the Mexican food is the best we have eaten around this area. Fantastic - very friendly staff, amazing food and very big portions!!! Can't wait to come back again

Pleasantly surprised!!!.. Thought it was going to be old and dated inside as it didn't look great from the road.. the food was lovely and the staff equally as nice.. well worth the visit 😊👍

Oh my goodness where to even start. We checked in and then left to stay somewhere else after seeing the state of the place. This isn’t a hotel. This is some rooms they are charging for whilst a lot of the rooms are long term lettings Reception guy was unhelpful. It’s a motel style with external entrances to the rooms. All the downstairs rooms are let out. Filthy and grubby room covered in cobwebs. I must repeat we did not end up staying. We took up bags up, had a look around and left, it really was that bad. The thought of taking my shoes off in that room repulsed me. Even cobwebs in the wardrobe. Furniture is battered. Holes in curtains. Unsafe lock on doors considering that anyone off the street could walk up to your room. Clothes racks hanging up in some walkways from long term let’s drying their pants. This place is not safe. Please don’t stay. You would be safer sleeping in your car!! We booked elsewhere on line and got outta there.

Lovely meal and friendly service.

Lovely family meal. Big and filling meals. lots of parking. Staff were friendly. Payed 12% service charge which I hope gets shared with front of house and the chefs. The place is clean and big.

Walked into a very quiet restaurant, no professional staff tbh. Waiter served our drinks to us and held his fingers and hand over the Rim of the glass and absolutely disgusting nails with dirt around them. Food was ok wouldn't say wow at all just a basic meal. No atmosphere we wont be returning

Had lunch here meeting family halfway between where we all live so location perfect for us. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming from the minute we stepped through the door. There were two young men serving behind the bar and the food and they just made the place. They were polite and happy which is lovely to see in a restaurant. The food was really delicious, recommend the chicken wings and the chilli.

lovely service and absolutely amazing food, portions were brilliant for the prices and food was entirely fresh. such a shame that it wasn’t busier being the summer holidays. definitely going to go back as well as telling those we know about it. so glad we decided to go after having seen it multiple times. if you’ve been considering going DEFINITELY do, please give this independent business your service.

Great time here, food is excellent

Disgusting. Ordered a steak baked potato (thats not an option but the waitress didn’t tell me that it only came as pork or brisket) My dinner came and it was 90% fat. I nearly threw up. Sent it back and asked for the pork instead. It came with cold, raw bacon. The waitress apologized and asked if she could bring something else. No. She took my meal off the bill. Spoke to the manager on the way out. She said mistakes happen. Please try us again. Terrible cooks and worse management. This is the only restaurant review I’ve ever written and I’m 72!

The room is OK, comfy bed but could use updating. But I was pleased it was on hand to crash out in after having the best rack of ribs I have ever had. Superb.

Just had a really lovely tex mex meal here. Great menu choices and the food tasted very fresh and full of flavour. It was presented so nicely too. I love spice / heat, as does my other half, and it was perfect for us. But if you like it more mild, you might like to tell them. The service is also excellent. We were served by a very polite, friendly, attentive young man called Harley, who is a credit to you. Although it’s on the Halland roundabout, when you’re inside, it feels like you’ve been transported back in time to a frontier town bar / restaurant.

A very friendly man served us drinks and gave us a menu. The restaurant lacks character. Food was good and we enjoyed sirloin steak with stuffed jalapeños and stir fried beef with Mexican rice which had a great flavour. We will definitely be going back to try other food options.

We booked for 11 of us (7 were children)-5 excited 11 year olds and 1 excited girl! Harley was amazing…our waiter, he was also barman and on reception. Everything was perfect!!! One of the best meals we've ever had in the UK! Their steak & ribs were cooked to perfection & their service was excellent. Highly recommend them.

Been three times recently & not been disappointed once. As someone who lived in the US for two years they’ve done a really decent job. It’s a shame more people don’t go there as it’s definitely better than some of the local pubs.

Been pleasantly surprised by the offer of this establishment. It should be better supported by locals. Decent range of tasty dishes.

Went for dinner on Tuesday with my mum and sister, it was our first time here, we had driven past many times and finally decided to go. The food was really nice, I ordered a combo of steak and ribs with curly fries and corn on the cob. My mum had a pulled pork burrito and my sister a chicken burrito. We all loved the food, and tried each other’s and loved those too! I am always really nervous ordering steak at a restaurant I have never been before but it was cooked to a perfect medium rare! I had no room for pudding (the portions are big) but my sister had a salted caramel sundae which she enjoyed! We will definitely be coming

We’ve driven past many times and said we should try it as we love TexMex. Tonight we finally did and we loved it! A friendly welcome. Sadly the restaurant was empty, 7pm on a Friday!! The food and drinks came promptly, service was polite, food was hot and very tasty. Another couple came in but that was it. Felt sorry for the staff. We were stuffed with the portions so no room for pudding. And we felt sad there wasn’t more people. It was clean and tidy. I can have two teenage sons and they loved it and we all want to go back to try some of the other dishes.

Stayed for a night to play golf locally. Rooms are basic and dated but shower was nice and powerful and rooms were clean. Ate in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. Had steak with peppercorn sauce which came in a gravy boat bug enough for 2 or 3 meals. Due to quiet location, the restaurant was very quiet which is a shame for them because their food is excellent.

I literally am in shock with how bad my experience was at this place! Cajun chicken and no cajin! Steak had no flavour and was wet! If I closed my eyes you wouldn't know what meat it was! The only nice thing was the frozen curley fries they deep fried! And the ribs were dry and fatty! My sons chicken burger what we assumed would be a fillet but was minced chicken and was pinking and smelt like old feet! And the staff just refused to even correct the meal as they said it would come out the same and then told us to leave! Absolutely disgusted would never waste my time again!

On arrival I cut my jeans on the dining chair which had metal beading sticking out. Not too bothered about my old jeans but someone could seriously injure themselves. I moved the chair and told the waiting staff who seemed completely uninterested. We sat in the restaurant near to the fire but our experience was completely upset by the group of people who occupied the sofas and chairs next to the fire. Their topics of conversation and foul language was not what I expected in a family restaurant in early evening . All within earshot of the bar and waiting staff who said and did nothing , in fact the staff all seemed to be on very friendly terms with this group of people. By the time we left we felt intimidated and really quite afraid. I will never set foot in this place again. The damaged chair I had moved was placed back at another dining table, I didn't dare mention it again. Food was ok, nothing special. Never in my life have I experienced such disgusting behaviour. Something very strange is going on with this place.

We went to this restaurant last Friday evening. We tried to book but no-one answered the phone, so we just went along at about 7.30. We told the man behind the bar that we would like a table for 3 but he told us that there would be a long wait as the kitchen was very busy. It was pretty quiet so this seemed a bit strange. We asked him how long would the wait be but he kept avoiding telling us. Then he said they would be shutting at 8.00pm which on a Saturday night seems unbelievable. It soon became obvious as we went round in circles that he just wanted us to leave so we did. I wonder if the management know that this is happening...

We visited here on 19/07/2021. I t was in the middle of a big storm! We were given a warm welcome at the door, and after sanitising shown to the table we wanted to sit at. As it was warm we chose one by the window, which we ended up having to shut due to the weather! The serving staff were happy and friendly. We chose from the normal menu. Both of us had 1/2 rack of ribs and chicken wings in Southern Comfort with the trimmings. It was cooked lovely and the side salad was enough for 2 of us. Done continental style, without olives. It was very good value and had plenty of car park space. The prices were reasonable too. It was all Tex-Mex food with some burgers and Chilli If we are in the area again we would certainly visit agian Thank you all!

Saw Buffalo Bills on the way to visiting Hever Castle and thought we may eat there on the way back. We looked up the menu and decided that’s what we’d do. Arrived early, about 16.30 so it was not busy. We both had a combo meal. I had the steak with half a rack of ribs and my other half had his steak with cajun chicken. It was all cooked to perfection and very tender. Good portions all round and very tasty. The waiter (Killian) was very good. Attentive, welcoming, friendly and informative. Would definitely go there again.

We have now had a few home deliveries and each meal has been tasty hot and large!!! I’ve had the fish and chips twice and the portion is massive, best batter I’ve had for ages, even from the local fish/chip shop can’t match this. The chips are amazing always crispy very hot and fluffy inside. My partner isn’t a chip eater, unlike me 😂 but even he says they are good. We had a mixed platter to share, wings ribs etc but to much for just two of us, but again really tasty and hot, very well delivered in little cardboard boxes. Wouldn’t hesitate in using them again Well done and thank you
