Use bucks all the time kebab meat tasted funny and was cold think I need a new place

Wow, have you slipped. I ordered large cod and got a haddock. Chips meant to be a large, more like regular, and terrible quality seems like the fats are dirty and old. The savaloy was soggy and stone cold, did you just take straight from freeze and partially microwave it. I had you guys as the best in leicester. I am so disappointed. Will not be returning. Only if zarconi on Narborough Road was still around next to the co op.

2 plaice 19pounds hardley any fish all batter, one lost customer. They will not keep customers this way. Too busy to care.

Disappointed. Very scrawny, greasy chips. Fish was OK but also very greasy. Standard has deteriorated.

Food was ok but the staff all looked grubby and clothes were drab and unkempt,not for me ugh!

Not visited for years but told it had improved, tried it tonight.... food went straight in the bin after a couple of mouthfuls followed a short time later with my partners. Disgusting, will never return, worst I've had by far.

Just bought fish and chips. The fish was fine but the chips were a massive let down! 70% of the chips were inedible as they were made from manky potatoes absolute disgrace not only that they dry like cardboard! Never again!

I eat here every week and the food is usually really good, good portions a friendly staff. Today a different story staff were rude, portions tiny, had about 12 chips.

Kebab is currently in the bin. Been going to Bucks for years, but today I’ve been served more grease than food. The smell was revolting, like hot cat food. Not going back.

Absolutely the best I've had in Leicester, the last fish I had was enormous. The chicken tikka kebab in naan is exceptional. Generally the portions are generous too.

Stopped off for a chicken tikka wrap,waited about 10 minutes to get served and even then the young woman was going to serve someone that had walked in 5 minutes after me. My wrap was made quick enough after my order,it was lovely,plenty of meat and very tasty.only gripe with it was that it wasn’t wrapped up properly like a wrap(it was open both ends)so in turn when I picked it up to take a bite,the filling fell out the bottom. It got devoured non the less and will definitely be back for another soon.

After being charged £4.20 for a portion of chips, I expected them to be edible. I wouldn't have given them to a starving dog. How you can call yourself a chip shop is beyond me. Trading standards will be getting a call Monday morning

Order doner meat and chips and the doner was cut like someone couldn't be bothered. It was thick and chunky ends from the bottom, needed to actually cut it with a knife again to even attempt to eat it. Used to be nice back in the day but definitely gone downhill.

Used to live in Leicester and always used to eat here. 9 years later it’s still just as good. My partner is fussy but he agrees that this place has the best fish and chips in the UK

I went there and ordered two fish and chips it comes to £28 pounds the man infont of me order two pieces of chicken and chips they charge him £20 pounds extortion avoid the fish is meant to be large they put small fish with lashings of batter on it to deceive you it's not worth the money it's ripping people off avoid at all costs

I live near i use bucks 1 or 2 times per month was in last sat around 5.30 had small fish small chips and mushey peas every time i have had this it has been great this time the food was cold the fish and batter was dried up the chips were dry the peas were wartery very disapointing

An absolutely stunning chippy. A great variety menu, cooked to perfection. And the extremely friendly helpful staff are always happy to cook your food how you want it. Everytime I make a telephone order the guy who takes my call always recognises me within seconds. Large chips (salt no vinegar) 9 fish bites (crispy cooked) 1 large Curry Sauce. What an awesome start to friday evening and the weekend. Bucks Chippy gets a 10/10 every time.

Best chippy in Leicester and my opinion has always been the same... love the food always friendly staff and service is always great and I would definitely recommend to all.

I went there yesterday for two kebab to find that at 9pm they had run out of salad bad management and staff planning so don't waste your time traveling their for nothing if I could give no stars I would rubbish chippy avoid at all costs

We live locally and used to go here once a week around 8-10 years ago for chips but haven't recently. We had an uber eats voucher so decided to order for pick up. Got mixed meat kebab, mixed tray, and large battered chips, and 1 pc chicken. All excellent! We added some substitutes in the notes in the app and I saw the woman preparing our food reading them when I got there which is great, lots of places ignore the notes. V large portions, good pricing, great takeaway, attentive staff. What more do you want from a chippy.

Website let’s you order battered chips, paid online. Once I got there to collect. Told they don’t do battered chips and normal chips were packed.

Had 2 kebabs from here at 2 separate times. 1 time the mean has the biggest bone in it. The second time the chicken in the peri peri chicken kebab was raw. Like actually raw. Absolute discgrace. Don't order from here or you might break your tooth or die from food poisoning

First Of All The Fish And Chips From Here Is Faultless But The Mixed Kebab I Had The Other Day Well That Was Something Else!! I Will Elaborate, Great Cutomer Service And A Massive Well Presented Portion And The Food Was Lovely Honestly Couldn't Fault It...But Then About An Hour Later After I'd Finished I Had Severe Stomach Cramps And Were Pebble Dashing For Over Half An Hour So Either The Food Doesn't Agree With Me Or Its The Food Either Way Next Time I Will Opt For Fish And Chips.

Best fish and chips in Leicester city. Always freshly prepared food, consistently satisfactory portion sizes, friendly and efficient staff, easy to access from town with several routes to it. Usually have the haddock and chips, but whatever we have it's always delicious. They will even do a light batter on request. Highly recommended!

Brought a portion of chips yesterday and there was something solid within the chips on two occasions while i was eating. This resulted in two of my teeth being chipped. Not had a problem with them before but I wouldn’t go back after this.

Good enough good. Extremely rude mature woman who should not be customer facing. Either retrain her or put her in back of shop. Parking is really difficult so often need to park further away. Guess the extra steps will help offset the food.

Awfull, fish cake was grey and soggy inside, the mixed meat was awful cold and wet with no taste, the haummi pitta was covered in grease actually made.my daughter sick . Do not go here

As a chip shop, this place is fantastic! Fish and chips just the way they should be. The menu is extensive, the quality is high, the staff are friendly and the service is excellent. Just don't try the doner kebabs, which are beyond disgusting, quite the worst I've ever eaten a little bit of and then thrown the rest in the bin. But the chippy oriented stuff is beyond reproach, especially the fish. Overall, strongly recommended.

Ordered a large amount and missing chicken and mushroom pie and a curry sauce need to sack old lady with attitude never polite totally ignorant good food but let down by 1 staff

The food that was delivered was nice, however the two portions of chips we ordered were missed off. Not helpful from a Chip Shop.... When I rang to complain the staff were less than interested as we’d ordered through Uber Eats and tried to blame the driver. In the end they agreed it was their fault but refused to rectify it. The Uber driver was actually great. Chip shop service was a bit of a let down.

I've ordered twice from Buck's Chippy and it was the best fish and chips I've had for a long time. I ordered through Just Eat, and although delivery time was quite long, the food was excellent. I like how you can choose how much batter you want on the fish. Would definitely recommend

Food list always hot and always on time

Was 2 stars last time. Now I've had to drop it to one star. The old women that works in there needs an attitude check. Making your shop look bad. Never smiles and everything allways seems so much effort.

Our family was looking forward to our fish and chips tonight. On opening, the chips were warm not hot , the fishy bites were dry and the the batter on half of them were darker and crispier than the others, they look like they had been warmed up. We ordered chips to go with a piece of cod and they were not in the order. The other chips looked poor. Very disappointed. I tried calling Bucks Chippy but nobody would answer. I think i will stick to Burnham Chippy as they seem better value for money!

Went here during lockdown as a treat. Food was very nice and fairly priced. Menu was good and the staff were happy to cook to order. There is a second one in Leicester which is also as good and easy to park at
