Bubba Gump Shrimp Co in City of London, Westminster

I've eaten here a few times over the years when it was Bubba Gump so thought it was a safe bet for a birthday celebration meal before a night at the theatre with my husband. How wrong I was! There was no great welcome with lots of standing around in a cavernous space at the top of the stairs waiting for someone to eventually come to the desk. Then it was not clear if it was a queue or a crowd as the people who got attended to were in no particular order. We had booked and noted it was for a birthday. Maybe I should have mentioned that the birthday person was well into middle age and then we wouldn't have been seated in the midst of a lot of families with young children more with an atmosphere more like a fast food 'restaurant'. We asked to move but the only other place was a table looking onto an open area where the staff congregated to chat and serve drinks. It didn't look too clean and was an ugly view. The food was okay but very overpriced for what it was. The main courses were all over £20 and the cocktails were £10. I'd have expected a lot nicer surrounding and better food for this even in central London. I had the New Orleans Shrimp which were tasty but there was hardly any sauce so was very dry and I couldn't eat the rice without sauce. I will not be returning.

I only really write positive reviews but I have to let you know this is one of the worst restaurants I have ever eaten in. The food was mediocre but the worst part about the restaurant was the team… have to say not their fault. There is no leadership or direction, Lack of training, poor communication. Terrible decisions made.. I hope the owners rectify as there will be no business after peak. Worst part is that on writing to them to complain they have not responded!!!

We went as a family of 4 for lunch (2 adults and 2 kids (aged 6 and 5) We orders 2 meals off the kids menu and 1 sharer off the sdults plus chicken wings side. The food came so quickly it was clear it wasn't fresh! The bbq chicken wings were luke warm so they had attempted to reheat. We left half of our sharer too, the chips were hard and barely warm, the fish bits were hot and tasted ok there was 4 pots with a tiny bit of sauce in each which had been stood for so long they had a skin formed over the tops. The kids portions were massive and 1 enjoyed his fish and chips! The other who usually eats everything in sight attempted her cheese pizza and chips but couldn't eat it. My husband also ordered a coronaita after previously going to bubba gumps and got a watery glass of line juice with corona and lime next to it!? All in all it cost us £90, we were all (except for the 5 year old) lelf hungry and disappointed! We did complain (which I rarely do but it really was that bad) the waiter said he fed our feedback back to the manager as they've had a few similar comments recently especially about the chicken wings! There looked like a lovely place opposite called Happy and I think we'll try there next time as I definitely won't be wasting my money at this place again!

We visited this venue last year when it was bubba gumps, we really enjoyed and thought on our return to the capital, we would give it another go. Very impressed is an understatement, Maddie the greater was extremely professional and made us feel a part of the family, as a business owner, staff like this are hard to find. Price doesn’t even come into this as the service provided was brilliant and we will return on our next trip. It’s only 180 miles away.

We went Saturday 10/09/2022 at 5pm, it took 40 minutes to get a waiter to serve us , when the drinks arrived the water was warm and the Budweiser was terrible, the ribs came with no coleslaw or sauce, they were very fatty , the steak was tough and fatty , the shrimp never arrived, we tried to complain but the waitress just didn’t care and never came back When we asked for the bill we complained to the person We will never eat at shrimp and grill leister square ever again

Shrimp & Grill Worst service ever. Almost every family/table was complaining, waited over 2 hrs for food to be served. No cuttlery, Staff ignored us, Half our drinks came 30 min after the first ones, Ice in glass, had melted and was water, where they had sat on the bar 3 fire alarms sounded during the time we were there, but no announcement or communicating that everything was ok Our baby had to just eat the snacks we had on us as the food took so long We were never asked if we wanted another drink Never got approached by staff at all Food was cold Complained and asked for bill Plates never cleared Staff totally clueless, looked like they had just walked in off the street None of the staff understood English We asked for the manager to complain and just got glared at and handed the bill, had to go and find the manager and join the line of people complaining Staff didn't know which table had ordered what Uncooked food After we paid, they told us the oven wasn't working

Dommage plus rien à voir avec Bubba Gump. Sinon pour la nourriture (quantité et qualité) ça va le service un peu lent mais ça va.

The atmosphere was good with good music and the waiters were very friendly. We had Rob who was extremely helpful and accomodating. We used a groupon voucher and there wa sno bottles of 330ml water left but he managed to arrange us to have on large bottle instead which we very much appreciated. The strawberry, blueberry and banana smoothie was very nice and smooth. The best part was the appetizers - the fish balls were very well cooked and the macaroni was as well. The main was only ok and disappointed as the cocount in the shrimps made the batter less crispy and a bit more chewy. The fries were good though. Overall the portion sizes were a plus. Wouldn't be in a hurry to go back but was ok in general.

Our waiter was Adrian. He provided great service and was attentive to our needs! Restaurant decoration is really cool!

Looked forward to visiting this restaurant with friends as my daughter had raved so much about the one in New York. Firstly. Arrived and was seated promptly with menus noticed then there was nothing about Forest Gump on show at all which was the whole point of visiting this restaurant. Left quite a while before we were asked if we wanted drinks and our order taken for food. The waiter did not understand us most of the time when repeating the drinks order and food order he had to amend. Drinks took ages to come to our table as did our food. 3 out of 4 starters arrived together with no cutlery staff seemed to have done a disappearing act. When the 4th starter came and eventually the cutlery our starters were no longer warm. Whilst still eating our starters our mains arrived. We told the waiter we hadn’t finished the starters yet but was adamant about putting our mains on the table, no apology or offer to take back to the kitchen. Again shortage of cutlery for main meal food again not warm due to sitting on the table whilst finishing starter and then waiting for cutlery. Which when came consisting of 3 forks and 7 knives Not a good experience was had by my party front staff bar staff and kitchen staff all need to communicate better. Service was terrible considering the prices charged for food etc and the fact that it was not busy. Wouldn’t like to be there on a busy night, then again this place is one I wont be returning to

We were shown to a very wobbly table so moved a couple of times to find a table we could eat at. Service was slow. Waitress couldn’t understand us. Food turned up. Adult meals okay, children ordered pizza of kids menu. It was rubbery and under cooked. Understaffed. By the time we got a waitress the kids had already filled up on our chips. Refused to pay for kids, told kids eat free - that explains the quality of the food. Drink glass was dirty, replaced with a dirtier glass. Waitress took it away to change it and never came back. Refused to pay service charge so no one came to take payment at the end of meal. Spoke to manager but he just walked away and never came back! Got fed up waiting to pay (20 mins!) so started to walk out - all of a sudden the card reader appeared. Restaurant full of dirty tables without food cleared. Was very disappointed as we were visiting London for one night and this was our dinner. Wish the Jungle Cave wasn’t fully booked!

Have never been here and always wanted to go when it was bubba gumps. Had booked in advance and went here. Was seated and it took half an hour for soemone to come and take our order. There was people walking around and some doing nothing. Drinks took forever to come it took another 15 mins for our drinks and even then they forgot a drink so had to grab someones attention to go get this. Food was fine so cant complain on that sense. We did not even bother ordering more drinks as felt like it would take forever to order and get them. We ended up asking for the bill and after 10 mins still no one brought it over. Again staff walking around some doing next to nothing. In all honesty i could have walked out without paying and no one would have known none the wiser in my opinion. We did ask for the bill again and they did bring it. This was the first and last time i will be going here. Service is so bad, waiting times for drinks is just silly. Until they work on their staff and the service they provide i would avoid at all costs.
